While Shiko may look like a fun, outgoing guy at first, if you get to know him, you'll realise his life isn't exactly a fairy tale.

When meeting him, you'll notice his bright and cheerful personality. He's friendly and likes to joke around. Always the first one to jump up to go and do something, always laughing, always seeing the best in everyone. He also likes flirting with his kouhais, much to their dismay. Sure, he might be dominant and try to be the best, but he's got a soft side too. He cares about his friends, and tries to raise his 'hatchlings', as he calls them, to make them into finer heroes. He likes making jokes to cheer up those that are feeling down.

However, his personality does a 180° turn when he's home. His energetic demeanour changes into a tired, depressed boy with nowhere to turn to. He gets abused by his father ever since his mother died, leaving him all alone. He has anxiety, and tries to hide from his father by locking himself in his room. He's submissive and cries easily, allowing his father to make fun of him.
