I was invited out to the hilltop by a mysterious note. I had a good idea who sent it but I went along anyway. I was curious about what he wanted to say.

I reached the hilltop and to no surprise shikamaru was standing there. What was surprising however was the bunch of roses he was holding.

"Umm what are you doing" I asked nervously.

He took a deep breath "I realised something after our talk yesterday. I don't love temari and that's because I love you" he handed me the roses "so I was wondering. Would you like to be my boyfriend?"

I stumbled back in shock "your messing with me aren't you"

"of course not" he took a step towards me and gently stroked my face "I love you neji" as if to prove a point he leaned in and kissed me.

I melted into the kiss. This felt like a wonderful dream but I'm awake! Maybe I can have a happy ending after all.
