Shifting The Blame
Have you ever wondered, that whenever a woman is in the wrong, she gets blamed, but on the other hand in case of men, the blame is conveniently shifted to the women around them. And this is not only done by men, or regressive women, but a good portion of women who label themselves as feminists.
If this isn't the irony.
We live in a world that allows men to be abusive, grey, morally conflicted and what not, but women are not expected to have shades. She has to be perfect in every way, in every relationship. We should be white. She is deemed only strong if she is perfect. God forbid if she asks for her rights, calls out the impartiality, wants to be single, wants out in a relationship or the worse of all has an abortion. How dare she?
Men do all that, but still get away. Remember Jennifer Lopez's famous song "Ain't you mamma..." gives such feminist vibes, doesn't it? But is it even feminism if it demeans women, this time a mother? Yes, the men get away from doing household chores because "supposedly" it's for women, and their mothers' do it for them. But is it so transparent? Isn't it the very base of patriarchy and misogyny, where kids at a young age are segregated and taught masculinity and femineity. An easy argument could be made, that the senior female members decide this, but where are the patriarchs, who are the head of the households? They are the stronger species, right? They should intervene.
When a man changes after marriage, and is either abusive or supportive, again the blame shifts on the women. In case of abuse, the woman should have been careful, and the super-supportive husbands get the term, "hen-pecked husbands." Yes, still men are stronger than us, but whenever something goes wrong, blame the nearest woman, be it the mother, sister, wife or a random passer-by.
And when it is done by these "so-called" feminists, its worst. These people literally gaslight the victims, and give a free-pass to men by shifting the blame.
Today is womens' day, the day to celebrate us, so can we do a simple thing, can we put the blame at the right pace? A man is grown enough both mentally and physically, so when they are wrong, it's their fault, they chose to take the wrong way, no one, especially no woman forced them to. Can we not shift the blame anymore?
It'll take ages before men take responsibilities of their wrongs, but we as women can at least do the right thing, stand by our gender regardless she's is black, grey or white, because whatever it may be, a man's mistake is not her fault.
Happy Women's Day.
