🎃HALLOWEEN CHAPTER!🎃

🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔🌕

 Shadows- Anemone

Anemone raced through the halls in the dead of night, something close on her tail. She glanced back behind her, and immediately regretted it. She saw a flash of a dark shadow, towering above her. "Leave me alone!!" She screamed, squeezing her eyes shut.

The response she got was like wind whispering, and darkness was closing in on her left side. She ran straight into the entrance hall, and whipped right, bounding out the door and into the night sky.

She beat her wings faster like never before, and didn't dare look back behind her. She heard the dark figure behind her, hot on her trail. Her wings absentmindedly took her in the direction of Mothers palace, and she wouldn't argue with that. She was certain her mother could help her.

She would seek shelter in Tsunami, except no one, no one, was at Jade Mountain. She looked everywhere. (Mainly in Tamarin's cave.) She really just wanted to sit with Tamarin, and well, just be with her. She missed her already. Just the thought of Tamarin calmed her down, before she remembered a nightmare monster was chasing her.

She sped up, and soon she could see the Mud Kingdom in front of her. She could also see dawn peaking up behind the Mountains, which were disappearing into swamps.

She had tried using her magic to teleport her to Mothers Palace several times, but failed. It seemed as though her magic wasn't working. Still, with the thought of the darkness monster behind her, she powered through.

~Several Hours Later~

Anemone was just reaching the ruins of the Summer Palace, because from there was the only way she knew to the Deep Palace. She passed it, and quickly dove into the water. She quickly glanced behind her, and saw the darkness monster recoil as she hit the water. She figured it either couldn't get wet, or really, really didn't like water. What didn't like water? Oh. Right. The monster that was chasing her.

She took the salty sea water in through her gills, the prickly sensation calming her. She took a nice, steady pace, and started to make her way through the water to the Deep Palace.

𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴

She had finally reached the Deep Palace, and burst through the doors in a state of panic after the darkness monster. She flashed all of her stripes at max brightness, to attract everyone's attention. 'Where's my mother?!'  She flashed at full brightness. Shark slithered up to her. 'Back so soon, princess?'  'Yes.' She snarled, making a face at him.

Her mother appeared behind him, holding Auklet close to her. 'What's all the commotion about?' She flashed, her eyes drifting from Shark to Anemone. 'Oh! Baby, you're back!' Her face lit up, and she wrapped her wings around Anemone. She hugged her back. She suddenly wondered why she wanted all of this, the protection, the love, and safety taken away from her. Then she saw Auklet battling her harness, and realized, Right. No freedom.

Auklet suddenly realized of her presence, and, with a  huge smile on her face, bounded over to her older sister and hugged her tight. Anemone let go of her mother to squeeze Auklet back.

'Mother, something happened.' Anemone flashed, turning towards her mother with a solemn expression. 'No. Don't tell me- Nothing- Is Tsunami-' She flashed in a jumble, her talons flying to her mouth with a horrified expression. 'No, mother, Tsunami is alright.' She flashed. I think... continued her mind. 'Oh, thank Pyrrhia.' Her mother flashed in aquatic, her face one of relief.

'But...' Anemone started. 'But...?' Her mother prompted, gesturing her to go on.

𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴𖣴

She had told her the story, about racing through Jade Mountain with the shadow figure following her, and flying as fats as she could over here. She also told her about the fact it hated water, as it wouldn't follow her into the ocean earlier.

Her mother took Anemone to the queens chambers to tell her the story. When she finished, her mother tsked. 'What's wrong, mother?' Anemone flashed, confused. 'Ugh, I always have to do every thing myself,' She went on. 'They couldn't do one job, so now I have to.'

Anemone stared at her mother, horrified with confusion and shock. Had.. had her mother sent that thing after her? 'Mother, you didn't- I mean, surely you wouldn't-' Anemone started, forcing herself to believe this was a misconception, and her mother would reply with, 'Oh, honey, I meant I need to kill that thing now, for daring to frighten you!'

But, rather, the response she got was,

'Yes, darling. I sent them to kill you. Obviously.'  Her mother slithered up to her, brandishing a dagger. Anemone was paralyzed with fear, and suddenly, her mother struck the dagger into Anemones chest, right through her heart.

Her last thought was,

'Run, Auklet.'

Cracked- Kinkajou

Kinkajou was happily bounding through the halls, when suddenly, she heard an ear piercing shriek. She ran into her and Moons cave, to find it was only Tamarin, who was on the floor with a few scrolls next to her.

"Oh, it's just you, Tamarin! Did the scrolls fall on you?" Kinkajou asked, helping Tamarin up. "Yeah. Sorry." Tamarin spoke softly. "No worries! Which scroll were you trying to find? Maybe I can help you?" Kinkajou asked, picking up and re-placing scrolls back on the scroll rack next to Moon's sleeping ledge.

"Just 'The Haunted Maze'." Tamarin said. "Alright! Sounds creepy, though." Kinkajou said, and handed the scroll to Tamarin. She walked out, and Kinkajou swore she could hear her mumble, "Thats the point."

She shrugged it off and went to the cafeteria, and that's where she found both Moon and Qibli, sitting wing-to-wing, sharing a pig and laughing. She bounded over. "Hey guys! What's so funny?" Kinkajou sang, poking her head down to look at them. "Oh, hey Kinkajou! Nothing, just Qibli being a handsome idiot." Moon said, laughing at Qibli's wounded face. "Hey, I am not an idiot! But I am handsome." Qibli cried, hurt.

"Alright, enough, lovebirds. Don't keep reminding me about my single life." Kinkajou sighed, and sat down next to Moon, reaching across the table to grab some berries from a pile of fruit.

"HELP!" Someone down the hallway cried. "What's happening?!" Moon cried, leaping up and running out into the hallway. Kinkajou followed close behind her. A very small dragonet, looking newly hatched, with...some sort of cracks all over them, black, spreading from their left eye to all over their body. Kinkajou and Moon ran to go check on Moon and Qibli's egg, and when they got there, it was the same as the dragonet. Kinkajou whipped around, to find the small dragonet behind her. "Hello, mother." It said eerily at Moonwatcher, staring at her with a slight tilt of its head.

"What?! You- you're- my dragonet?!" Moon cried, horrified. "Why, of course, mother. Did you not recognize your own children?" This time, two eerie voices came, a duplicate version of the first dragonet appearing behind the second. Moon screamed. Kinkajou stood there, shaking, pale with fear, as was Moon. The two dragonets quickly jumped onto the dragons, one on Moon and one on Kinkajou. It's claws quickly closed around Kinkajous throat, and she struggled to look at Moon, who was the same.

Each time she writhed in pain, the grip of the dragonet got tighter. Soon, she has thought she passed out, only to sit up, look back, and see her body, covered in blood and white with fear. She screamed, but no noise came.

She was dead.

Hollow- Willow

"Sundew?" Willow sang, poking her head into the library. "Oh! Hey." Sundew said, not looking up from the book she was attempting to read. Willow chuckled. "Still trying to learn how to read huh?" She asked, sitting in front of Sundew. "Yeah. It's harder than it looks." Sundew sighed, and rested her head on Willows lap.

Willow reached over Sundew and picked up the book, squinting in an attempt to read it. Sundew laughed, and closed her eyes. "What?" Willow asked, amused. "Oh nothing, just you trying to be better than me." Sundew fake-sighed. "Nuh-uh! I'm just...trying to read it!" Willow said, and lightly punched Sundew in the shoulder. "Which is trying to be better than me, because I couldn't read it, now you want to prove that you can and that it's not that hard."

Willow scoffed. " I would never!" She cried dramatically. "But, you-" Sundew started, wagging a finger. "Alright, alright, enough of this. Let's go flying together, just the two of us. We never do that anymore." Willow said, pouting at Sundew.

"Ok, fine, let's go." Sundew sighed, and got up, offering a talon to help Sundew up. "Hey, it's not supposed to be, 'ok, fine,' it's supposed to be, 'gasp! Of course, Willow, the love and light of my life! What a genius idea!'" Willow said, sighing a hefty sigh. Sundew suddenly sat up, a blank expression on her face. "Sure. Let's go." She said in a monotoned voice. "Uh, ok. Love, you are feeling alright?" Willow asked, catching up to Sundew as she walked out of the library and lept into the sky.

"Of course. I'm fine." Sundew said, still in the same tone of voice. "If you say so, love.." Willow said, uneasy.

They had finally reached a spot where Sundew landed. It was the same place they first met, with the creek, Willow had realized. "Oh, love, it's where we met!" Willow cried, bounding over to the creek.

Suddenly, Sundew was right there, and forcefully shoved her to the ground, straight into the creek, with vines on either side of her.

"Ack! Sundew, what was that for?!" Willow sputtered. The creek was barely full, with it corvering her just halfway if she laid down (which she kind of was). Sundew still draws at her with the same, blank expression, but this time, with some sort of white film over her eyes. She looked Willow dead in the eyes, and reached her talons out to her.

Suddenly, the vines beside Willow started to wrap around her. "Love!" Willow cried, mortified and frozen in place. "SUNDEW!" She tried, screaming. Sundew still got the blank expression, but it looks like she was struggling to tear her talons away, like they weren't her own. 'Maybe they aren't...' Willow thought, scared of what had taken over Sundew. The vines i played with her sharp thorns from every side, and made their way up to her neck and face.

Just as the vines had tightened around Willows neck, and around her face, bringing her unconscious, she heard Sundew scream,

"NO!"
