Chapter 2~ The Truth
Qiblis POV
"Qibli I...." Moon Started. "I'm with egg." Moon blurted, tears springing into her eyes. Qibli was silent, with tears in his eyes. He hugged her tighter, bringing her closer. "Oh, Moon.." Qibli said. "I'm sorry, Qibli." Moon said through tears. "Don't be sorry, moon! This is wonderful! These are tears of joy, Moon. I can't wait! " He said, lifting her chin up to face him.
"How are we going to do this Qibli? We can't really manage to juggle School, and the egg, and then a whole dragonet-" Moon started, but Qibli cut her off. "Moon, it's going to be ok. We'll figure this out. It's going to turn out fine." Moon went silent. " What if it comes during class?" She whispered. "I- I'll talk to One of the Prophecy Dragonets. Maybe Sunny, or Clay." Qibli said to her.
"But-" Moon was starting to object. "They'll understand, Moon. It's going to be ok." Qibli said, cupping her face in his talons then giving her a kiss on the cheek. They stayed there for a while, before they had to head back to their sleeping caves.
Qibli was sharing a cave with Turtle, now that both of their claw mates were gone. But now that Winter was visiting, he was back in that cave as well. He wasn't sure if he should tell them or not. Probably not. He didn't think Moon would tell Kinkajou yet, so he decided against it. Turtle might understand, but It would makes things even more awkward with Winter. It might even make him go back to Sanctuary, and he didn't want to risk that.
"Hey." Qibli said as he entered their sleeping cave. Winter was on his sleeping mat next to the wall, looking at a scroll. Turtle was on his mat in the back of the cave, looking sleepy. "Hey.." Turtle said drowsily. Winter grunted something that sounded like a hello without looking up from his scroll. He wondered what he was reading. Maybe he could snatch it so they could talk, but Winter out the scroll down instead. "So, How was flying with Kinkajou?" Qibli asked them. "Exhausting." Turtle said. "It was....hm, well 'ok' isn't exactly the right word. But neither is 'great.' So, Meh." Winter said to Qibli. He chuckled. "Well alright then. Night, guys." He said as he laid down on his sleeping mat.
Qibli woke up, or so he thought. There was a giant storm, Blowing Moon away, and he couldn't help her, grab her, or anything but sit there, helpless. He looked down and realized he was holding an egg, cracks splintering all over it. He couldn't speak, couldn't help the egg, or anything. Then he woke up, gasping. 'It was a Dream..just a Dream...' He thought. But he couldn't help needing to check on moon. He quietly got up, and earned a soft groan coming from turtles direction. But he couldn't be quite sure, so he figured it was still late at night, or really early in the morning.
As he rounded the corner to Moons cave, he stopped for a moment, just to be sure no one was following him. As soon as he was sure, he peaked his head into the cave, to find Moon twisting, turning and shivering. She groaned softly, and he couldn't bear to see her in pain like that. He wanted to wake her up, but that might risk waking up Kinkajou, so Instead he quietly tip toed his way over to her, and spread a wing over her, to warm her up.
She stopped moving around, shivering and sighed, Under the warmth of his wing. She quietly curled up on the moss with her tail wrapped around her front talons. He had noticed she had kicked off her fern blanket, so he gently put it back over her and lightly tucked her in to keep her warm. He wanted to stay here forever, by her side, keeping her safe and warm, but he couldn't. So instead, after a moment, he left, on his way back to his own sleeping cave.
He must've fallen asleep at some point, because when he woke up it was a while past dawn, but still around early morning. He stretched, then saw Winter had already left, presumably to the prey center. Turtle was still sleeping though, snoring peacefully in the back of their cave. He yawned, then left the cave. He had an urge to go straight to Moons cave to check on her, but he fought it and headed towards the prey center instead.
Maybe moon was already there, getting breakfast. He didn't know how having the egg would effect her. Did it make her more hungry, or less? To sleep more, or rarely at all? He wanted to ask her these things, but we couldn't. Kinkajou probably wouldn't leave her side, and even if he could manage to get to her alone, it wouldn't last long, without Kinkajou swooning over them, or someone overhearing their conversation. Maybe Starflight wouldn't be in the library all day. It was Moons favorite place, after all.
He realized he was right when he walked in, both Winter and Moon were in the prey center, along with Kinkajou. "Hey." He said to them, smiling. "Hi." Moon said softly. "Hi!" Kinkajou said, happily. "Hey." Winter said. "Whatcha guys doin?" He asked them, sitting down next to Moon. "Just getting breakfast. Here, want some papaya?" Kinkajou asked, offering him a papaya with her mouth full of berries.
There was a few other dragonets in the prey center as well, including Clay and Sunny, picking through meat to see which ones were bad and needed to be thrown out, and which they could keep here, in the prey center. "No, thanks though." Qibli replied, only half listening. He wondered if he could take Moon out to 'Hunt' where they would actually hunt, but where they could also talk about everything. The bells for their first class interrupted his thoughts, though, going,
GONG! GONG! GONG!
So that settled it, after class then. They had art for their first class today, which Qibli was particularly exited for. He wasn't the only one, though. Kinkajou was practically grinning from ear to ear. He guessed the RainWings liked to paint, Or maybe just her. She grabbed Moons forearm and started racing down the hallways to the art cave. He wanted to tell her to be careful, with the now, even more than usual, fragile Moonwatcher. But he bit back his tongue as Kinkajou called "Race ya!" To them as she turned the corner, giggling.
"Arghhhh, she's gonna beat us! Come on, Winter, let's go!" Qibli called to him as he raced after them, laughing. He heard Winter running behind him, which was a first. He caught up to them just as they crashed into the art cave. He could tell moon was trying not to crash, to protect the egg. So he hurried right behind her and caught her before she fell over backwards.
Winter majestically swept into the cave right behind him, fake scowling. "Hey, no fair! You got a head start!" He said, jabbing one claw at Kinkajou, and she nearly toppled over, giggling.
As Sunny came into the cave, she said, "What? How do my students always get here before me?! I'm I really that late?" She asked, acting confused, then smiling at her students. It was hard to believe She wasn't a student herself, with her small size. But it was pretty hard to mix her up with the other students, with her golden scales and no SandWing barb.
"No!" Kinkajou cried. "We're just early! You're doing great, Sunny!" "Aww, Thanks Kinkajou." Sunny said. "Well, even though I'm not exactly a teacher I'm here, seeming as we don't really need a teacher to teach art, to the students, I just pop in from time to time, to avoid any causalities or other things." "Oh, ok." Qibli said. Moon had already started her painting, as had Kinkajou and Winter. Winter was behind him, with Kinkajou in front of him, leaving Moon next to him. He liked that, having her next to him. Sunny had just left, leaving the 4 of them alone in the art cave.
So he had started then, too, dipping his claws on his front talons into the paint, and streaking them across the canvas in front of him. They painted for a good while, until everybody was finished. Kinkajou was beaming, practically dancing on her talons. Winter looked quite pleased with himself, smiling lightly at his painting. Moon was smiling softly, then beckoned for Kinkajou to show her painting to everybody, and they all looked up as she started talking.
On her canvas was a beautiful, gorgeous painting of the Rainforest, with RainWings gliding through the trees, some of them with sloths, or in hammocks or on platforms, soaking up the sun through the Rainforest trees and canopy.
"Wow, Kinkajou! That's..Beautiful!" Qibli said to her. Moon and Winter had Gasped, then Moon had said, "3 Moon, Kinkajou! I had no idea you could paint like that!" She turned to the RainWing, Smiling at her. "Yeah, that's...really good." Winter had said to her.
"Why, Thank you, but I still have to explain it, though!" Kinkajou said, turned more pink around her face, wings, and ruffles. Which he thought meant happy.
After art class, they headed towards the prey center, where then Qibli could put his plan into motion. "Hey, Moon, do you want to go hunting?" He had asked her as they entered they prey center, which was now about 5 times busier than it had been this morning.
He wondered did she still got those headaches, or if she knew these dragons well enough to slide their mind into a raindrop by now.

So, that chapter was much longer than the first! Like, over twice as much writing! I'm not complaining, just hope you guys like this length better than the first, because I am NOT shortening this chapter! At ALL! This took me so long, almost all day! Ok, not all day, but just in the lengthy amount of times I got in between the things I did today.
And no, guys I don't understand either why they say "with egg" instead of "with an egg", but I just don't question the rules of wings of fire, do if Tui T. Sutherland did it like that, than so will I.
So, Chapter 3 coming soon! I will most likely (hopefully) post a chapter a day! Maybe not, but I will try!
Once school starts I can only post 2 chapters a week, on the weekend :( but I will try to make some then set them to post during the week :D
Bye,
