Third person's POV

Samantha was sitting at the Brotherhood's usual table. No one else was there yet.

"Hey, " A voice said, and Samantha turned around to see Victoria. "Can I sit with you for a few minutes? I don't know where the people at my normal table are, and I don't want to sit alone."

"Uh, sure?" Samantha said as the blonde girl sat down next to her.

"Question: What exactly are your powers? Cause you said, you had powers just like me."

"I can turn into animals. I choose the fox the most because they're so beautiful. Also basic have the strength of the animal I choose and all their other traits," She replied.

"Nice," Samantha said.

"Who is this?" Kevin asked as he and Mary walked over to the table with their lunch tray.

"This is-"

"Victoria! What are you doing?" The blonde, green-eyed mutant jumped in her seat. Samantha turned around to see who had cut her off. Kitty and the rest of the X-men stood to behind Victoria's seat.

"What? I didn't know where you guys were! You guys always take so long!"

"You're with then?" Samantha asked.

"Yeah, but what does it matter?"

"Come on, " Kitty said, grabbing Victoria's arm. "You don't want to hang out with this group."

Samantha's POV

I was now walking to my car with Rogue when my twin brother Kurt showed up.

"Hey, Sam and Rogue, " Kurt said, waving at both of us.

"What is it, Kurt?" I asked.

"Well, there will be a party at the institute tonight since the Professor is away. So wanted to know if you two wanted it to go?" He asked.

"Won't the other girls be mad? After all, they were mad at that girl Victoria, " I said. "Besides, I knew to keep an eye on the others, so they don't cause any trouble."

"Come on, it will be fun, plus Kevin will keep them out of trouble. You will need a break from there, foolish, " Rogue said.

"She right, plus I tell them to leave you alone, " Kurt said.

"Alright, we come then."

"See you later tonight then, " Kurt said, walking away.

Once they were gone, Rogue and I continued walking to my car, where Mary was waiting for us since her last class of the day was closer to where the car was parked.

-Timeskip-

After arriving home and asking Levin to keep an idea on the others, I and Rogue were now in my car driving to the Xavier Institute.

"You ready for the party?" Rogue asked.

"I just hope Kevin keeps the others under control, " I replied.

"Oh, come on, you need to learn to relax, " Rogue said.

"I'll relax once mom is back, but I don't know when she will be still looking for those two new mutants, " I said. "Any way where here, " I said, parking my car once we arrived at the Institute.

"I see you inside, " Rogue said, getting out of the car and going inside.

"Alright, " I said, turning off the car before getting out and heading inside.

When I arrived inside, I saw a large crowd of people at the party.

"So, what do you want to do first?" Rogue asked once they saw me walk inside.

"Hey, Sam and Rogue, glad you both made it, " Kurt said, walking over to both of us.

"Thanks for inviting us. This looks like it going to be a lot of fun, right Sam?" Rogue said, looking at me.

"Sure, whatever, " I replied.

"Hey, what are these two doing here? " A voice asked.

I looked over to see Kitty, Lucy, Evan, and Victoria walking toward the three of us.

"Calm down. I invited them there just here to have fun, " Kurt said.

"I know Sam is your twin sister, but she is also the enemy, but I guess it okay there here if they don't cause trouble, " Kitty said.

"Good, now let's party, " Kurt said, walking away.

"Yeah, " I replied.

Rogue was about to walk off when I stopped her when I spotted someone. I wasn't expecting to be here.

"Why did you stop me?" Rogue asked.

"Look over there, " I said, pointing in the direction I saw two people walking. Rogue turned and looked in the direction of where I was pointing.

"What the deal? That's just Arcade and Risty, " Rogue said, confused.

"Risty isn't really a person. That actually is mom. It has been her the whole time. I don't know why she is here, though, " I said.

"Let's go see what she's up to, then you're going to relax, " Rogue said as we snuck off to see what mom was up to.

While following them, I could hear them talking.

"I have only been here once, but I think this hallway leads us to the library, " Risty said.

'That's a lie. She has been here multiple times. What is she doing here? Please wait a minute until the time she called to check on me. She mentioned something about needing to get the Professor away. She planned this and must be here for the computer, but why bring Arcade?' I thought, confused.

"Hey, weird elevator. Where did that go?" Arcade asked.

"Umm... Oh, you know what? I bet that leads down to that big computer Lucy was telling me about, " Risty said, putting a hand on Arcade's chest.

"Did somebody say big computer, " Arcade said, walking to the elevator.

"You can go back and party. I'm going to stay here and figure out what she is trying to get off of Cerebro, " I said

"Ugh, no, i'm not leaving you. I will get you to relax, but that clearly won't happen until you know what she's up to, " Rogue said.

A few minutes later, mom came out holding a disk and started walking away.

"Right, I won't until I know what that is. So come on, let's follow her, " I said, following after mom with Rogue right behind me.

We were following mom when suddenly we lost sight of her.

"Where she go?" Rogue asked.

"I don't know, " I replied.

"Hello, " I heard mom voice.

I suddenly felt a chill down my back. It felt almost like fear.

"Follow me. I believe her this way, " I said, running in the direction I felt the fear coming from.

"Can somebody help!" Mom shouted.

"That was her voice. It came from behind this door, " Rogue said.

"Right, leave it to me, " I said, turning into a grill and using my strength to open the door.

When I opened the door, I saw her unconscious and on the floor. So Rogue and I ran over to her.

"Mom, wake up. What happened?" I said, shaking her.

"Ugh, " Mom said, groaning and waking up.

I was about to ask her if she was okay until we heard an explosion. Then Scott and Jean came running in, so we hid, so they didn't see us.

Once they were gone, I saw mom walk over to the yellow disk and pick it up. Then she ran outside through the hole Scott and Jean made.

"Wait up, mom!" I shouted, running after her.

Me, Rogue, and I were all outside now. Mom was back in her form as Risty.

"What are you doing here?" I asked.

"Nothing anymore, just getting something. I needed to find two new members. I will be going now, " Mom said, her eyes glowing and jumping over the gate of the entrance to the institute. At the same time, Rogue and I were sitting inside of my car.

"I do remember you calling and saying you needed to get the Professor away from the mansion. Just didn't think this party would be involved in your plan, " I said.

"Yeah, well didn't expect you to be here. Also, how did you find me in that room?" Mom asked.

"Yeah, how did you know?" Rogue asked.

"I felt someone was scared. I guess whatever knocked her out made her afraid. That's how I found her, " I replied.

"Your ability that we figure was called Empathy but to find my location, that sounds like it is getting stronger, " Mom said.

"Yeah, I believe it is."

"Well, see you as so as I come back as soon as I get the two new recruits, " Mom said.

"Yeah, see you later. Just please come back soon, " I said, yawning.

"Yes, please -" Rogue started but was cut off by my phone.

I quickly picked up my phone and heard Kevin's voice. After a few minutes of talking with. I hung up the phone and sighed.

"Come on, let's go. I have pain in the butt to deal with, " I said, annoyed.

"What happened now?" Rogue asked.

"Mary happened again. She burned something, losing her cool, complaining about her sister again, " I said, groaning and smacking my head on my car horn.

"Well, another day of problems. Wasn't Kevin supposed to handle any problems they caused so you could finally relax? " Rogue asked.

"Yeah, but Mary is being difficult, " I said, groaning. "See you later, Mom."

"Yeah, see you, My angel, but are you doing okay?" she asked with concern.

"Yeah, just a little tired, " I said.

"I know taking care of things for me isn't easy, but I will be back soon, " Mom said, walking away.

I nodded and drove off once she was gone.
