Chapter 3: Meeting Victoria
Samantha's POV
I was sitting at an assembly for the soccer team, completely bored out of my mind.
"They fought as a team, they played like a team, and they respected each other as teammates!" Principal Kelly said, giving a speech. I was trying to not to fall asleep on Kevin's shoulder, who was sitting next to me.
For a moment, I kind of wanted the boys to cause trouble just for some entrainment. I looked behind me and saw Lucy and Rogue looking bored. Surprisingly they were both sitting in the same row, with Risty Wild in the middle of them. When I turned back to the stage. I saw Jean suddenly clutch her temples and scream, dropping the soccer trophy, which fell to the floor, the head breaking off.
"Wow, finally some entrainment, " I muttered to Kevin.
"Yeah, her powers acting up, " Kevin replied.
Jean then managed to compose herself reasonably quickly and regained her feet. Picking up the two pieces of the trophy, she tried to smile at the audience. "Sorry lost my head there for a second. As I was saying, I'd like to thank all of my teammates, our coach, and everyone who showed up to support us.
I sighed, hoping this would be over soon as Jean continued her speech.

After the event that took place in the assembly yesterday, I was now in my next class, History. At the same time, Kevin was in chemistry with Lance.
Just as Mr. Henderson started talking about the order of the presidents, a girl with long blonde hair, green eyes, and fair skin walked into the classroom.
She walked over to the teacher and gave him a note, which he took and looked over it.
"Okay, class, it looks like Miss. Victoria will be joining us for the rest of the semester." He said. "Miss. Victoria, take a seat next..." He scanned the room, looking for an empty seat. His eyes landed on me. "Why don't you sit next to Miss. Darkholme?" He said, pointing to me.
I sighed as the new girl walked across the room to sit next to me. I watched as the girl got out a notebook and pencil and began taking notes. During the class, I noticed Victoria looking at me from time to time. I raised an eyebrow, confused about why she kept looking at me, mainly my eyes.

Third person's POV
Finally, the bell rang for the end of the period, so Samantha gathered her supplies and moved for the door. She heard Mr. Henderson mention the homework that is due next class. She walked out into the crowded hallway and to her locker to grab her stuff and headed to gym class next. She suddenly sensed someone who was surprised behind and turned around when she heard behind her.
"You're a mutant too!"
"I'm sorry, what?" Samantha coughed, turning around to see the blonde girl standing behind her. "You're like me. You have pow-" Samantha cut her off before she could finish that sentence.
She then looked up and down the hall to make sure no one heard her outbursts and looked back at the girl.
"Listen, Victoria, right?" The girl nodded. "You can't be announcing stuff like that out in the open, got it?"
Victoria's eyes widened, and she stuttered for something to say. "Oh, I-I'm so sorry!"
"Just don't do it again, got it? The last time someone tried to announce something like that, it didn't end well." Samantha said, remembering the boys ruining the soccer game. "Anyway, how do you even know I'm one?"
"I saw your eyes change for a second, " she whispered.
"That's why she was staring at me. My eyes do sometimes change when I'm stressed." Samantha thought.
Samantha nodded, then slammed her locker shut and walked away to her gym class.
While walking to gym class, she saw Rouge sneaking near the principal office and raised an eyebrow at her behavior. Then saw Scott walk over to her and start talking with her. Samantha was about to walk away and head to gym class. When Jean suddenly appeared and said to Rogue Mystique your mom. Then she heard Rogue complain about Jean reading her mind.
"She must still be having trouble with her powers. She has way too many skills to be slip up with her powers." Samantha thought.
She decided just to shrug it off, not really in the mood to deal with this, and continue her walk to gym class.

With Rogue...
Rogue was walking down the hall, consoling herself by thinking of ways to torture Jean Grey for reading her mind, when she heard a German-accented voice call after her.
"Rogue! Vait up!"
Oh, boy. Rogue turned around to see her brother running after her. This wasn't going to be fun telling him that she is also his sister like Samantha is. Rogue stopped and waited for him to come over. "What do you want, Blue-boy?"
Kurt looked just uncomfortable, Rogue felt. "I just vant to talk. Can we go someplace private?"
Rogue considered the request. This had the potential to go badly in so many ways, but she felt that he did deserve answers. “Ok, but the only way we’ll get privacy is if ya teleport us outta here. It doesn’t matter where just off school grounds.”
Kurt nodded and wrapped his arms around her. Rogue stiffened at the unexpected contact but had no time to protest as Kurt teleported them away.
They re-appeared in an alley next to the ice cream parlor. Rogue attempted to hide her smile at Kurt’s choice of location but failed as her brother grabbed her hand and dragged her in. Inside, he promptly sat her down at a table and rushed over to the counter. Watching him, Rogue let herself smile. For a few minutes, she could forget the conflict between teams, be affectionately tolerant of her brother’s energy, and spend this short time pretending to be just normal siblings.
Rogue was broken out of her thoughts when Kurt returned, carrying a plain vanilla ice cream and some kind of bizarre combination that she didn’t even want to think about, much less identify. “So, what did y’all want to talk about?”
Kurt looked down, shrugging slightly. “Mystique is your Muzzer, but also mine. I guess I just vanted to know what it vas like, growing up with her. Vas she a good mother? What did you do for fun? Who is our father? Vhy don’t we know him? So many questions.”
Kurt’s accent got thicker when he was excited. Rogue sighed. “Ah well, technical only adopted. I didn't see her that much since after a certain point of time, so it was mostly just Irene and me. If you really want to know what it was like growing up with her and who your father is, you should ask Samantha. She lived with her full time, unlike the two of us."
"I been trying, but she hasn't responded to my text, and when I see her at school, she always seems in a bad mood, " Kurt said with a frown.
Rogue frowned, feeling bad because she knew that she and the others were the reason Sam had been in a bad mood constantly. "Don't be upset she is not ignoring you on purpose. She has just been under a lot of stress lately. With Mystique gone, she is in charge of the brotherhood. This involves not only keeping us under control it also includes training. It doesn't help that we cause a lot of trouble. Especially the boys, you saw what they did at the soccer game. I don't cause as much trouble, but sometimes I do. Also doesn't help with the new member always talking about destroying her twin sister Jean." She explained.
"I see still. I wish she would at least answer my questions. That is all I want. Yet I understand she is stressed out."
"Hey, don't worry. I talked to her after gym class today about calling you."
"Thanks, Rogue. Let's go back to school and head to class."
Kurt then grabbed Rogue and teleported them both back to class.

Samantha's POV
I was now at home lying in bed since gym class got canceled due to Jean's powers going out of control and almost endangering everyone in gym class.
I was thinking about what Rogue said about calling Kurt. Since he really wants to talk with me about something. Before she took off to help Kurt get back to the institute since he was worried about Jean and probably teleport to the wrong place in his state.
I sighed when I saw my mom calling.
"Hello, " I said, answering the phone.
"Hello, my angel."
"You need something, mom?"
"No, I just wanted to ensure you were doing okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"You sure you didn't seem fine? When I saw you at school, you actually seemed exhausted and annoyed."
"Oh right, your pose as Risty Wild. To get the information you need off Cerebro. That Xavier has on Wanda and whatever the other mutant name is."
"Yeah, so mind telling me what got you worn out and annoyed?"
"Just trying to keep the boys under control. They first go to the soccer game to announce being mutants, but luckily, Xavier erases the memories of the people there. Then already, after a couple of months after summer is over, they cause more damage to the house. Now have to get more work done and call someone to do repairs. Also, we have to continue training them so we can beat the X-men, and it is not easy, especially Rogue, but she got to the point where she can summon people's powers on command but still can't touch anyone. Mary is difficult because she loses control of her anger and keeps burning everything. She keeps talking about wanting to destroy her twin sister Jean nonstop. And don't get me started on paying bills. I believe that I still need to pay the water bill."
"I'm so sorry, my angel, I left you to handle so much work, but I should hopefully be home soon. I just need to find a way to get Lucy to invite over without Xavier being in the way."
I could sense that she felt terrible about making me handle all of this. A cold feeling ran through my body so, filled with sadness.
"It's okay. The Carnival is coming up, such help to relieve my stress. I still ask Kevin if he wants to go with me."
"Alright, dear, well, get some rest, but if it becomes too much, I'm sure Kevin wouldn't mind helping. He cares about you, and if he realizes how much he was stressing you out would stop acting like a foolish boy and behave more mature and help you relieve of your stress."
"Yeah, your right. I will talk with him about it tomorrow. Anyway, talk to you later. Need to cook dinner."
"Alright, but make sure to get plenty of rest."
"I will," I said before hanging up the phone.
After that, I went downstairs to cook dinner and saw Rogue was back home.
**
After eating dinner, which was sloppy Joe, during dinner, Rogue told us about Jean's powers growing too fast for her to control. So the x-men almost had her use her powers to clear her mind. But luckily, Lucy came back home from detention before she was left with no choice but to help.
I then went upstairs and called Kurt and answered all his questions about mom and our father.
Once I was done talking to him, I went straight to bed.
