Sam soon arrived at the dance along with Rouge and Kevin.

"Alright, here we are," Sam said as she parked her car and turned off the running engine.

"I catch you two inside, though, don't know why I bother, still can't fully touch anyone," Rouge muttered as she got out of the back seat of the car.

"Hey, Rogue, it will be okay," Samantha said."You can still have fun if you want. We can just chill by the drink table, chat, and dance separately next to each other."

"She's right, we can find a way to make this fun," Kevin said.

"It's alright, you two have fun dancing together inside," Rogue said.

"We'll see you soon, but if you change your mind and want us to join you near the punch table, just let us know, " Sam said as she and Kevin headed inside the school for the dance.

"Let's go have some fun," Kevin said as they entered the gym where the dance was being held.

The gym had red streamers hanging on the walls and ceiling, along with blue balloons and s Disco ball on the ceiling.

'This looks beautiful.' Samantha thought as she held Kevin's hand as they walked into the gym.

There were some other students here already dancing to the music. Samantha noticed Principal Kelly leaned back near the wall, arms crossed, as he watched the students with narrowed eyes.

"So Lance did actually come with Kitty," Kevin muttered as he saw Kitty and Lance dancing next to each other.

"Seems so as long as he doesn't cause trouble, not my problem," Samantha said as she and Kevin went to dance together.

"Again shall we dance?" Kevin took Samantha's hand as they started dancing together.

"I think this is going to be a good, relaxing evening," Sam said."Hopefully everything goes well, but you never know with Lance here," She commented.

"Come on, guys," A voice called out, gaining Samatha's and Kevin's attention. They turned to see Tabitha with Fred and Toad together. "Let's get out there and show them how we move," Tabitha said.

"There here as well," Samatha muttered."So, who with Mary?" She said, narrowing her eyes.

"Don't worry if anything happens, I'll make a call for the extra repairs to what we are getting done on the house in a few days," Kevin said, turning her attention back to the dance.

"How's it going?" Rogue asked as she walked over towards them with a cup of fruit punch."You know that the others are here as well?" She asked.

"Yeah, I noticed, don't tell me, Mary, here as well," Samatha said, slowing dancing with Kevin.

"No, but Petrio just walked in," Rogue said, nodding at the entrance where Peitro had his arms being held by two girls, and then two more walking beside him.

'So, everyone here except for Mary. Oh boy, just relax, it'll be fine, have fun.' Samatha thought, trying to calm her nerves.

"Well, nothing to worry about as long as they focus on the dance," Samatha muttered.

"Fair point, well, I'm going back to chill over near the punch bowl," Rogue said, taking a sip of her punch as she walked back on off where she came from.

"I think the important thing is that almost all of us have gone out to have fun like teenagers," Kevin commented.

"Agree," Samatha said with a nod. She then noticed Lucy walk in wearing a long-sleeved purple silk shirt with grey leggings as Risty walked over towards her.

'Seems like everyone came to have fun, even Lucy, who, like Rogue, can't touch due to their powers. I don't know why Mom is still disguised as Risty. Didn't she get what she needed to find Wanda and the second mutant she was recruiting before she came back to take over the leadership? She thought, glancing at Risty before focusing back on her dance with Kevin.

'So, you having a good time still?" Kevin asked.

"Yeah, this is relaxing from all the stuff needing to be taken care of while my mother is away," Sam said."Thanks for coming to the dance with me."

"Of course, beautiful," Kevin said, kissing Sam on the cheek.

However, the moment was ruined as a glowing portal appeared in the gym in between Lance and Kitty while dancing. Next, they knew three red-looking dinosaur creatures appeared from them, growling. The whole crowd started screaming and running away in fear. One of them ran towards Kitty, but it passed through her due to her powers and crashed into the table.

"What's going on here?" Sam questioned."Come on, we need to do something." Sam rushed towards the red dinosaur, heading towards Kurt as he teleported away with his date, and tackled it on its back.

The dinosaur growled in response as it attempted to shake off Samatha from its back."Alright, looks like it's clear of people now, Kevin!" She called out.

"Right," Kevin said, opening his mouth and blasting the dinosaur with his flame breath, causing it to slide back as Samatha got off its back.

"Say, night-night," Samatha said, shifting into a Gorilla and knocking the dinosaur out just as a male with brown skin, short black hair, and brown eyes appeared with a device with the rest of the X-Men, Wolverine, and Professor Xaiver. The guy was Forge.

"I got it from here," Forge said as he zapped the dinosaur, and it disappeared."We scout the school for more," He said as the X-men took on off to search the school for the rest of the creatures.

"Let's find Rogue, she's not here anymore, maybe she with to deal with that one that went into the hall," Sam said, noticing Rogue was missing as Sam turned back to her human form.

"No, need to search for me didn't go too far," Rogue said as she walked back into the gym."Anyway, should we go to this dance? It's pretty much ruined," she said.

"Yeah, let's, but instead of straight home, want to get some ice cream?" Kevin asked.

"Sure," Samatha said.

'I'm down with that," Rogue agreed as the trio walked out of the gym together to get some Ice cream before heading back home.

Here is chapter eight of Shifter's Return. In this chapter, I finally finished Shadow's Dance, and Samatha helped take down one of the red dinosaurs. The next chapter will focus on an original plot before moving into the next episode of X-Men Evolution season 2. I hope you enjoy the recent update of this story took a while, but I finally got the motivation to continue writing this chapter.
