Chapter 43: Le Best Girl has Arrived
(Your POV)
Sirzechs, Falbium, Serafall, and I all went to the room where the meeting was taking place, along with the last member of the Four Satans I met so far, Ajuka Beezlebub. Ajuka seemed nice enough, so I trusted him. All five of us entered the room to see Azazel and Micheal, who were there in the room. The Four Satans all sat on the same side of a long table while Azazel and Micheal sat on the opposite end of it. I was originally going to stand behind the Four devils, but Sirzechs insisted that I was going to play a role in this meeting, so I should sit down. I sat down at the head of the table, allowing me to get a clear view of the entry point should something happen. My attire was still the same, but now my jester's mask was on my waist. Out of nowhere, I heard a voice. "Quite the commotion." I turned around to see the source of the voice was an elderly man with a long beard. "These youngsters and their wild parties, can't even be bothered to greet an old man properly."
(Fun fact; Odin in his original source (or at least as original as it gets), is way better than this Odin, and is one of my favorite deities. Interested? Check out the Poetic Edda)
"Forgive us, Lord Odin, but there was an attack by the Khaos Brigade." Sirzechs stood up and spoke confidently to the man who was apparently named Odin, and behind him was a girl with white hair.
"Sirzechs, I received your invitation to watch the rating games, and I'm happy you decided to invite me." Odin and Sirzechs appeared to be on good terms. "Though I heard you devils were having trouble. The old Lucifer bloodline and the white dragon emperor, not to mention he's a terrorist. You devils really have your hands full."
"As sharp tongued as ever Odin." Serafall, who was wearing her magical girl outfit for some reason, was posing overdramatically.
"Serafall, what kind of outfit is that?" Odin sounded pretty judgmental, and while I would judge Serafall, it makes her happy and true to herself, and I think it takes great courage to be honest like that.
"I'm a magical girl!" Serafall changed poses rather quickly, and winked, also a star comically came out of her winking eye somehow.
"So this is what's popular with youngsters nowadays." Odin placed a hand on his chin to show that he was thinking, then he began imagining something with his eyes closed. "Not bad, not bad at all..."
"Enough of that indecency Odin!" The white haired girl got the god back on track, which I was grateful for, I could only handle so much pervertedness in one day.
(A/N:THAT'S RIGHT MOTHER FUCKERS, THE GODDESS IS GETING INTRODUCED EARLY BECAUSE I STRATEGICALLY WROTE THIS CHAPTER AT THE MEETING WHERE SHE IS FIRST INTRODUCED!)
"So stuffy that one, and exactly why she'll never become a proper warrior." Odin commented on the white haired woman suddenly speaking up. "Oh yeah, I forgot to introduce her, this is my attendant."
"Honor to meet you all!" Rossweisse placed her hands behind her back like a soldier respecting their superiors, all while Rossweisse had an honored expression on her face. "My name is Ro-"
"She's got looks and talent, but that stuffy attitude of hers keeps men away." Odin interrupted her introduction, I wanted to hear her introduction.
"I-I'm a Valkyrie who's been without a man as long as I've lived..." The girl faced the wall in a depressed manner as she began drawing eights with her finger on the wall. "Even though I really wish I had a boyfriend..."
"There there." I was suddenly at the girl's side, patting her back awkwardly to try and make her feel better. "You'll find your love eventually. By the way, I don't recall hearing your introduction earlier, could you tell me your name?"
"I'm Rossweisse, a Valkyrie." The newly dubbed Rossweisse finally introduced herself and looked at me. "Sorry, it's rude of me to ask since you must be so important to be here, but I don't know who you are."
"I'm (Y/N), no one important, I'm just here to learn." Despite what I said, Rossweisse's eyes went wide and I could have sworn I saw stars in her eyes. "I take it you know me?"
"Of course I do, I heard about you in Asgard, you're the man who managed to go toe to toe with the White Dragon longer than the Red Dragon!" Rossweisse's excitement was quickly hidden by her realizing how she was reacting and regaining her composure. "I sent you a letter saying that I would like to join your peerage, I would be honored if you read it."
"Oh yeah, you wrote in old Norse, yes?" I asked, and Rossweisse nodded to confirm this. "I hate to break it to you, but I don't have a peerage."
"That's pretty disappointing on hell's part, this kid is easily in the top ten strongest rook pieces, so why doesn't he have his own peerage?" Odin asked, and all Four Satans sweatdropped.
"Odin, we came here to discuss some information regarding the Khaos Brigade, and (Y/N) here is a key part in defeating them." Ajuka commented as I sat back in my seat and Odin sat in a chair beside Azazel. "On the subject of (Y/N)'s peerage, his peerage is going to be different by incorporating things from both Angel's brave saints and devil's evil pieces."
"Indeed, (Y/N) will be serving as a symbol of angels and devils coming together." Micheal explained, this is my first time hearing about this. "Instead of chess pieces or playing cards, his recruiting pieces will be tarot cards. Meaning he'll have 77 pieces available to him, excluding the fool because that's the piece he will be taking."
"Isn't that a bit much?" I asked, 77 was way too many for someone like me to keep track of, not to mention if someone writes a book about me, the readers will have to keep track of all those characters too, and I'd feel bad for them.
"To be fair, we'll also be putting you in charge of a new force under the control of all three factions, and designed to fight one of the factions should they decide to attack any of the other two." Sirzechs explained, and now all this pressure was on me. "We'll wait until you graduate before making the force official, but this force will only be members of your peerage. Besides, the minor arcana cards will be taken up rather quickly. Like if you recruited Asia, she will take up an entire set of minor arcana cards. If you wanted her to be wands, then she would take up the two of wands to the ten of wands."
"But I don't want a peerage, I'm okay with just following orders." Leadership was nowhere near my strong suit, and I was not okay with suddenly getting a peerage.
"Relax, due to the unique nature of this assignment, it's going to take a lot of time to finish it." Ajuka reassured me, and I was still not doing okay with all these expectations. "...Guys I'm starting to think that entrusting all of this to a high schooler who was completely alone until half a year ago was a terrible idea. Let's at least help him build his confidence as a leader first."
"Yeah...sometimes I forget he gets anxiety like any other kid with how he fights an all." Azazel commented. "Okay, let's change the subject a bit, the Khaos Brigade, any ideas as to how to counter them?"
"I can already deduce that Kuroka, Bikou, and Vali are the front lines of their little group." I snapped out of my little anxiety trip and went back into soldier mode. "Arthur could also be a strong combatant, but his ability to tear through dimensions makes him too valuable of a player to be on the front lines. If he dies, captured, or if loses his sword, the Khaos Brigade loses their main mode of moving from place to place. As for Nancy, she is most likely the main support of the team, due to her sacred gear creating full scale illusions that even I'm not immune to, she's best left to cast illusions from behind the front lines."
"You managed to learn all that from a single encounter with them?" Odin asked, and I nodded to confirm this. "Not bad kiddo."
"(Y/N) has the skills, intellect, and power of a high class devil, but his only real downside is that he lacks confidence in himself." Sirzechs bragged, and I lowered my head slightly. "Good news is that he's steadily getting better."
"Back on the subject of the Khaos Brigade, I think I can tell you guys how to counter each of them." I had to clarify this was based purely on my experience, and they should keep an open mind. "First off Kuroka appears to mainly use illusionary and altering magic. While her illusions aren't as potent as Nancy's, they're enough to throw most people off. Her most dangerous aspect is her ability to play with her opponents, but this could also be her downfall. When fighting her, quickly pin down the real Kuroka and avoid her magic, forcing her into close quarters. She has little to no armor on her, so focus on speed and aim for vitals, power at the price of agility is unnecessary."
"I honestly would have thought a neko would be better at close quarters." Azazel commented as I explained this.
"Next up Bikou, his abilities are exactly like Sun Wukong's, extending staff, martial arts, flying cloud. Bikou seems to pride himself in tradition, so just take him on like you would Sun Wukong, with long ranged combat and decoys." I continued explaining things. "I don't know much of Arthur, but I can assume he's a swordsman who prides himself in honor. For the best results, try having one soldier engage him in a duel while a secondary soldier stabs Arthur in the back."
"Seems a bit cowardly, but given how these are devil tactics, I'll allow it." Odin appeared to be judging me, but Rossweisse was listening intently, even taking notes.
"As for my sister Nancy...I can't say much about her sacred gear, which she stole. This is purely an assumption, but given how the name involves Siren, I think it's triggered by the victim hearing her voice, so wear earplugs." I lectured, and everyone. "Finally Vali, contact me for now or Issei, when he's ready. Issei and I are the only ones who can fight him, since Issei outright counters Vali while I overwhelm his sacred gear with different magic and vast stamina. If forced to engage Vali, use guerilla warfare to the best of your ability, or use your magic to change the terrain. Even if it's purely offensive magic like Rias', you can still make holes for you to hide in. There could be more members and these are purely based on my encounters with each member, so tread carefully. Any questions?"
"(Y/N), how about you just graduate early and become the official for military affairs?" Serafall was poking Falbium, who was asleep, how long has he been asleep for?
"Good job on that lecture." Sirzechs clapped his hands in a show of approval. "Your confidence is getting better."
"Thank you lord Zeoticus." I bowed to the red headed man, and Michael raised his hand. "Yes Michael?"
"How about working for the angels?" Micheal offered, and I had to decline the offer since I like where I am.
"Any other questions?" I asked, and everyone except for Rossweisse and Sirzechs raised their hands. "Questions about the Khaos brigade or any other threat to the three fractions or Asgard?" Everyone lowered their hands. "Thank you for listening to this explanation everyone."
"Good to see you're done, I was looking forward to watching the rating." Odin stood up and began walking away, followed closely by Azazel, did either of them really care about the meeting?
"With that, I suppose the meeting is over." Sirzechs got up from his chair along with Ajuka and Serafall. "So (Y/N), have you thought about who you'll recruit into your peerage once you get it? Maybe your friends in the talented course?"
"I fear that their trauma will hinder their abilities, so I'll only recruit the ones who have completely gotten over it." I answered as I stretched, my body built up a lot of stress from that little lecture because I felt out of place. "So my only real options are Nico, Onihime, Ayako, and Unohanna."
"Talented course?" Despite the fact Odin left, Rossweisse stayed behind, organizing some papers, so I explained to her what the talented course was. "You're a part of his course? What talent do you have? The Ultimate Hero?"
"My talent used to be Ultimate Shield, but now it's the Ultimate Immortal." Yes, my official designation in school is the Ultimate Immortal. "Which means my endurance and durability is higher than your average person's, but calling a talent is wrong, because I developed it myself."
"That's incredible..." Rossweisse was amazed with me, and before she could say anything else, Serafall stepped in.
"Speaking of that, we need to get (Y/N) a cool nickname." Serafall pointed out, and I don't think a nickname was all that necessary. "Issei is the Red Dragon Emperor, Rias is the Princess of Destruction, Akeno is the Priestess of Thunder, so what does that make (Y/N)...?"
"How about the King or War?" Sirzechs was actually taking this seriously, which was concerning.
"Nice, but how about this, the Warlord?" Serafall gave a new nickname, are all of here going to involve war in some way?
"Forgive them (Y/N), they both can rather...energetic at times." Ajuka appeared to be the adult of this situation, that is until his next line was heard. "Why not just settle for the Master of Talents?"
"Your ability to name things suck." Both the arguing devils stopped arguing to tell him this, causing Ajuka to look annoyed.
"Are devils this eccentric?" Rossweisse asked, and it took me a minute to think, and I guess everyone of my friends could be considered eccentric, except Rias, does Rias have any hobbies?
"I would guess so." I answered honestly, but then Odin called Rossweisse before we could continue the conversation.
"Looks like I have to go." Rossweisse gave a sigh, signaling that she was displeased. "I hope to see you again (Y/N), it was nice talking to you, it was the first time I've felt so comfortable talking to someone like this."
"I would like to see you again in the future as well." I responded, and Rossweisse smiled brightly, and the smile was so sweet and joyful that it rivaled Asia's in raw purity.
Rossweisse was forced to leave, and I decided to head back too, but before I did, Serafall and Sirzechs finally came up with a title for me, and it was odd even by my standards. "The King of Hope!"
"Eh?" I titled my head, why would I deserve such an eccentric nickname? "Why that name?"
"You see, a student from Hope's Peak, known as the Ultimate Hope, was capable of using all Ultimate talents known at the time." Sirzechs explained, and if that's true, I must meet this Ultimate Hope person and learn from them. "Plus it sounds cool!"
"Now that I think about it, you do qualify as the Ultimate Hope." Ajuka explained, and this was confusing because my designation as the Ultimate Immortal was enough. "You use your powers and words to inspire hope into others without even realizing it, and you are doing research into different talents."
"Speaking of which, once you master those talents, I can tell you where to find more." Sirzechs offered. "Tenbi Academy, Raizen Academy, and Sainen Academy all have their own talented courses. Plus they're all relatively nearby, so if you wish, you can go on over to ask them for notes if you ask."
"Thank you Sirzechs, but for now, I must support my friends with their rating game." I accepted the offer, and even wrote down the names of those academies. "Until then, I'll see you all later."
With that said, I began wondering about Rossweisse, she was certainly one of the most memorable people I could think of, but what kind of flower would suit her? I think a zantedeschia would be a good fit for her. The white flower matches her hair, and I think the flower suits her. The flower also represents purity, faithfulness, and beauty. I think the last one in particular suits her best, and the first two I'm slightly unsure of because I just met Rossweisse. Either way, I can tell she's a good person. I was walking through the halls until I accidently bumped into someone, knocking them over. I quickly apologized and realized I bumped into Seekvaira, a folder out of her hands, and I saw an interesting image in the folder. It appeared to be a giant robot, and I wondered if I could build one like it.
"Forgive me Lady Seekvaira, I was lost in thought." I apologized as I helped the girl up onto her feet. "Are you okay? I hope I didn't harm you in any way."
"I'm alright, thank you for asking." Judging from the way she spoke, Seekvaira appeared to have a strict personality that was even more strict than Sona's, and then she noticed she dropped her folder.
"I'll pick that up for you." I picked up the folder and handed it to the girl. "I couldn't help but notice there was a picture of a robot in there, I could possibly build one if you desire a robot."
"This isn't a robot, it's a mecha." Seekvaira corrected, and I didn't know what this 'mecha' thing was. "Did you not watch Voltron or something like it as a kid?"
"No, sorry." I apologized for no reason. "I didn't have a television until recently, and I don't really watch that much."
"It's fine, but could you build a robot I could pilot like a plane, like you said?" Seekvaira appeared interested in this pilotable robot thing, and I thought about it.
"It will take a long time, but I can certainly try." I answered, if I have enough resources, I can build it, and I could infuse some of it with magic. I noticed Seekvaira was containing her excitement rather badly.
"If you could get it done within a couple months, then that would be good." Seekvaira had a small smile on her face, which was only leaking out because she couldn't contain her excitement much longer. "There's convention coming up with a reward for cosplay, and I think making a mech could count as a cosplay."
"I think I can get it done." I did find that making things out of steel was fun, so I figured this would be a nice project to do.
"Good, I'll see you later then (Y/N)." Seekvaira and I then went our separate ways.
(A/N: Let's just get this out of the way, I'm hyping up this tarot deck peerage way too much. While they could have more members, all the bonuses granted will be way weaker. In fact, there won't be a queen equivalent piece in the entire peerage, all the cards will grant bonuses, but they'll be weaker, like only a 10% increase at best, compared to evil pieces which most increase certain aspects by a lot more. So while the tarot card peerage numerous, their capacity is absolute shit, so there will probs only be like 10-18 people in this book, counting the ones you guys suggested. Remember kids, you're in my territory and remorse is not in my vocabulary.
