Proving Her Strength
The sun was streaming through the window in Anora's bedroom and birds chirped outside of it. The girl in question was snoring away as the day went on peacefully. It could've stayed like that for a long while, except a crash sounded.
"WAKEY WAKEY!" A loud voice screeched in Anora's ear. With the sound coming out of nowhere, she jolted off the bed in surprise. Groaning when she hit the cold hard floor, she blearily opened her eyes to see Gildarts standing there laughing.
"Get out!" Anora screeched immediately covering herself with the bed sheet she'd accidentally tugged out the bed alongside her. She was only in her pajamas which consisted of a sports bra and leggings. Luckily she had a small requip space that she could keep small amounts of items in case she ever needed to use them.
Gildarts raised his hands in defensive as he turned around so that he wasn't facing her anymore. "It's 11:30 so I figured I'd come wake you up. Didn't want you to miss our battle after all."
Cautiously, Anora reached for her usual outfit quickly putting it on so that Gildarts would have a chance to see anything. "How exactly did you get in? Usually isn't there one key per room unless the Master had an extra one?"
"Well about that..." His voice trailed off as he looked towards the door to her temporary room. Anora followed his gaze as she was tying the laces to her white combat boots.
She deadpanned at the boy who had turned around again. "You've got to be kidding me." Anora said monotonously. Her door had been obliterated, chunks of it laying around on the ground. Her eyes swept to Gildarts silently demanding an explanation.
"Well...." He sheepishly scratched his head as he started to speak. "I kind of got frustrated with the key and my magic responded."
Anora sighed, "And so the door blew up-" A whine escaped her. "I guess I'm going to have to pay for the door huh."
A white magic circled appeared, hovering just above her hand that held her pajamas. The flashed away in an instant and a sack filled with money appeared alongside a hair tie. Her hand curled around the small blue sack and she used the hair tie to pull her hair into a ponytail.
Gildarts quickly waved his hand in front of his face in reassurance. "I broke it so I'll pay for it. Master is already pretty used to me accidentally destroying stuff. You can put your money away now."
Quickly grabbing her sword and attaching it to her hip, Anora shrugged moving past the boy into the main area of the guildhall. "I have to get some food anyways. Don't expect me to fight on an empty stomach." She looked over her shoulder to see Gildarts slowly moving to follow her.
She steadily watched he walked up to her. His footsteps were heavy. So definitely not a speed type fighter. So that leaves either defensive or offense, but with the stunt he pulled yesterday I'd go with offensive. Her thoughts ran wild through her head. So it would probably be best to either tank it or just run all over the place. Still, I haven't fought him so I have no clue what his fighting style is.
"Yo are you going to eat or not? I'd like to battle today." Gildarts interrupted her train of thought as she blinked once.
"Oh. Right." Walking over to the bar she spotted a pretty blonde haired girl perhaps just a bit older than Anora. Maybe by a year or two.
Her eyes sparkled like diamonds as she turned to Anora. "Hello! Would you like to order something?" She asked Anora in a friendly tone.
"Yeah." Anora responded sliding onto one of the bar stools. "I'm fighting Gildarts in about 25 minutes so I figured I'd eat something first. What can you make? I'm Anora by the way."
"Yeah, you've been the talk of the guild, accepting Gildart's challenge was pretty ballsy. I'm Fayre Kyomi, nice to meet you." Rummaging around underneath the counter for a moment, she pulled out a menu and slid it over to Anora. "Pick anything you want. It's on the house." She winked.
"EH?! But you never give me anything free." Gildarts butted into the conversation whining.
An exasperated sigh left Fayre's lips as she flicked Gildarts on the forehead. "That's because you almost burned my kitchen down you big oaf." Anora huffed as her eyes trailed down to the laminated menu in front of her.
"Can I have a smoothie?" Fayre's attention snapped back to her.
"Sure, what flavor do you want?"
Anora blinked once in thought before responding."Surprise me."
A smile flickered onto her lips. "Aye aye! You've got it." She turned and walked behind two doors that swung open.
Anora turned towards Gildarts as she slumped over the bar countertop. "So is Fayre a part of the guild or...?"
Gildarts shook his head. "She was born without magic, but both her parents are part of the guild. I mean it was a one in ten shot of having a child with magic so they were fine with it. So basically she's in charge of the bar area. Fayre's such an amazing cook. She could honestly do it for a living if she wanted to. No clue why she sticks around here." A chuckle left his lips.
All of a sudden a paper towel roll shot out and hit Gildarts on the head. Then walked out Fayre with one hand on her hip and another holding a small platter. "I stay because it's fun you doofus. Plus, I'm working here so I can get enough money to go to culinary school silly."
She set down the platter holding a tall glass cup with a pink liquid inside. "Strawberry banana smoothie for you!" Then she pointed to the bowl beside it. "Plus a bunch of chocolate. Chocolate does wonders with smoothies. Just for a sweetie like you." Fayre winked at her before moving to a different section of the bar to clean up.
Anora's face coated with a light blush before she popped a piece of chocolate in her mouth. Chewing on it she stared after Fayre watching her work.
"If you're done gawking at Fayre can you finish your chocolate and smoothie? I'd like to battle today please." Gildarts said startling Anora out of her stupor. In response she started loudly slurping her smoothie. "Fine fine," He held his arms up in surrender, "take your time."
Quickly finishing both her smoothie and chocolates, Gildarts and Anora made their way outside of the guildhall. They stood a couple feet apart as other guild mates started to crowd around them. People were shouting out different bets around them.
"Rules?" Anora asked shifting her weight onto her right leg as she crossed her arms.
After a beat of silence Gildarts responded. "We fight until one person can't stand anymore. Sound good?"
"DON'T WREAK MY GUILDHALL GILDARTS!!!" Demanded Master as he sat cross-legged at the entrance to the hall.
"And you can't wreak the guildhall." He added on, not wanting to deal with more trouble from the older man.
Anora nodded once, "Sounds good to me." She gave a swift to her sword, detaching it from where it hung. Her left foot slide backwards as she took a stance, her sword out in front of her. Her right hand carefully ghosting underneath the blade.

Gildarts spread his weight equally across his feet and a white magic circle appeared beneath him.
2.
Anora took a deep breath, closing her eyes to being gathering Ethernano. Her stance slowly but surely becoming more relaxed.
1.
Both wizards sprung towards each other. Feet pounded against the ground as magic flared white around their bodies. Gildarts swung a punch at Anora but she quickly blocked with her sword. She used the momentum to push off his arm.
Blinking once in surprise at the amount of force behind the below, she flipped midair and skidded during her landing.
He's using his magic aura to power his punches. She thought in realization, proving her earlier thought about him being an offensive type to be true. Quickly transfering into another back flip she leapt towards the incoming Gildarts and slashed her sword at him.
He took the blow, opting to hold his ground. He pressed a hand to the air as he slid back from the recoil, a red grid of boxes appeared. "WEBBED CRUSH!" He roared.
"Barrier." Anora stated calmly, her right hand coming in front of her body. In an instant, a wide red screen was created. Gildart's spell hit, the shield barely holding together. "Shattering Splinters." She commanded as the barrier shattered into hundreds of tiny pieces. A small white magic circle appeared in front of her left eye, "Target locked."
Immediately the small piece of magic started zipping around, having a mind of their own. They weren't any bigger than her pinky.
"Crush." Gildarts demanded stretching a hand forward. His magic started descimating the small splinters, but some of them zipped around him, pounding into his back. The sharp edges giving give lots of little cuts that would like annoying paper cuts.
"This is annoying." Gildarts huffed, his magic aura spreading rapidly within seconds to destroy the remaining splinters.
"Couldn't agree more." Anora nodded curtly.
They both knew the shirt wouldn't be wearable after the battle at the rate it was going. "Webbed Crush." He called once more, this time the spell formed in a circle around Anora.
Seemingly unfazed, Anora quickly slashed her sword at a spot on the barrier wall. "Dispel Barrier." She raced through it, her teeth snapping as her power started increasing out of nowhere. She skidded to a stop when she saw the boy across from her hold his palm towards her.
In the blink of an eye, Gildarts somehow moved fast enough to close the distance and through a magic powered punch.
Gasping in surprise, Anora attempted to jump but was quickly pummeled into a stray tree. Luckily she was able to curl into a ball enough to prevent too much damage. She stood, her eyes flickering dangerously as Gildarts stood a few paces ahead of her.
She wasn't exactly sure how he moved, but it was too fast for an offensive type. They were usually just tanks. Tapping her foot once, she summoned clear barriers around her. Quickly beckoning her free hand, so he wouldn't be suspicious of her.
Once she heard Gildarts mutter a curse, running into the first barrier, Anora closed her eyes and started to gather magic power. It was slowly being concentrated in her sword. Seconds passed before she felt a presence approaching her. "CRUSH!"
Anora's eyes snapped open, thrusting her sword in the direction of Gildarts. "KARMA'S REVENGE." She roared as she slammed the tip of her blade into Gildarts' chest. The force of the previous blow she'd taken was amplified by triple as she poured all her magic into the blow.
She staggered on her feet, trying to regain her balance from losing the rest of her magic power in one shot. "Heh." Her breath was short as she looked to Gildarts. He was hunched over, blood slowly dripping from his midsection. The shirt he was wearing was almost completely destroyed.
".......nice......" He wobbled, falling to his knees.
"........tie....." Anora's world tilted as she scrambled for footing.
"......heh....." Black swarmed her vision, as she collasped to the ground. Ignoring the staring of guild members who were gawking at the sheer damage that the duo had produced.
