Allies or Rivals
Hours after the battle had ended both Gildarts and Anora were seated at the bar. Bandages were wrapped around Gildart's torso and he had even gotten a new black shirt to replace the one that Anora had murdered. He also donned a newly bought cape with cargo pants.
Anora had a few bandages around her head and wrist. She had changed out of her clothes to a comfortable summer dress. It was a light red color, and had flowers sprinkled around her waistline. On her feet were brown boots and her necklace still dangled around her neck.
Fayre was on the other side of the bar, her elbows propped onto the counter as she listened in on the conversation that the pair was having. She had changed out of her flour-stained apron. Fayre was now wearing jeans with a flannel tied around her waist, along with a purple blue shirt.
"So, what the hell was that last attack!" Gildarts demanded, slamming his fist onto the counter. In an instant part of the table got crushed into tiny chunks. The falling pieces started to clink against the ground softly barely making any noise.
...
Anora deadpanned at the sight as Gildarts rapidly started apologizing to the horror-struck face of Fayre. All of a sudden Fayre's face went blank, before she leaped over the now broken bar and sucker punched Gildarts in the face.
That's all it took for Anora to double over and start laughing her head off. She clutched her sides, continuing to wheeze. "Stop making me laugh you idiot." Anora managed to choke out.
A glare focused on Anora as a fist whirled out to punch her. A roar of pain sounded out and Anora was knocked off of her seat. A snarl emitted from the girl as Gildarts had the gal to laugh at her.
"You wanna go again buddy?" She ground out, cracking her knuckles and standing up from her previous position on the ground. Her hair started flowing slightly as magic pressure started to build around her.
"Sure thing." A crooked grin spread across his face before it faded into a wince. Fayre smacked his head with a chiding glare. "What was that for!? Jeez." He muttered rubbing his head.
"You both just finished battling a little over four hours ago, you two are NOT going to be fighting again." She reprimanded. Anora let out a small sigh as the magic pressure around her faded into nothing.
"Anyways-" Gildarts pointed his finger back to Anora. "You'd better explain that attack Anora. It freaking hurt."
Anora blinked once before responding, "You mean Karma's Revenge?" She tilted her head in thought, trying to figure out the best way to explain it. "So, I guess every attack that is thrown at me and hits gets reflected back at them. So the couple times you hit me was reversed onto you and tripled in strength." She scratched her head, tugging at the bandages. "However, it takes a crap ton of magic power so I use it sparingly. Hence why I passed out right after I used it. Sort of like a last resort."
A grin twitched onto Gildarts face, "So that means I was hard to face off against eh?"
A shake from Anora's head dismissed the statement. "Not really. I just hadn't used that move in a while so I wanted to practice it once more." A faked hurt expression crossed over Gildarts face and Anora rolled her eyes.
"Fayre she's bullying me." Gildarts wailed clutching onto the older girl's torso. "Save meeeee."
Fayre leveled an unamused stare at the male before replying. "You broke my bar- I don't give a crap about what happens to you now." She moved to sit on the right of Anora and fiddled with a ring that adorned her hand.
A small snort left Anora, before turning her attention to her bandaged hands. "It's interesting how we cancel each other out for the most part." A confused noise was emitted from Gildarts as he sat down on his chair once more. "I mean, you are just offense, you can power through my defenses if you tried hard enough. Destruction at it's finest, though I'm not sure if that's good or bad."
"I on the other hand, can stop your attacks with no problem whatsoever. A simple flick of my hands can stop the attack. It's rather interesting." She held her hand up to eye level and examined it.
Fayre nudged Anora once before speaking,"You'd be a force to be reckoned with if you both teamed up." She remarked slyly.
"Team up with this oaf?" Anora questioned jabbing her finger at Gildarts. "What for?"
Fayre cleared her throat before gesturing to the rest of the guildhall. "People usually form teams to make jobs easier and whatnot. They split the pay on jobs and grow together by training. It also helps with social interaction."
"And why does Anora have to partner with me? I already have a partner." Gildarts huffed taking a sip of his drink.
"He always takes so many solo requests, you are basically solo Gildarts." Fayre sniped back. "Plus you and Anora have that team chemistry."
Anora deadpanned at the female, "We've known each other for a day. How exactly is there team chemistry?"
Fayre simply shrugged, "It's just there, I can feel it. Just try out a job together as a team. And if you don't like teaming up you don't have to."
Anora picked up her mug, taking a sip from the liquid inside of it. She mulled over the suggestion, her face going carefully blank. Her hand twitched a little bit before she came to an answer.
"I'll go on a job with you, but I want a couple days to recover from our fight. Just in case our job has complications or whatever." She decided and raised an eyebrow towards Gildarts. "Is that okay with you?"
He flashed a thumbs up at the girl and let out a tiny yawn. "I'm going to go sleep this off. You really did a number on me Anora. Cya." He waved a hand at both Fayre and Anora before heading off.
