5: Broken Dollies

Saturn - Sleeping At Last

Jungkook collapses to the ground, pretty sure earning a damn concussion by the force because he got the biggest migraine when his skull made first fucking contact with the solid ground.

Should've said time traveling will be a bit of a landing bitch.

Shit, couldn't Namjoon have been more-

Jungkook suddenly froze when he looks around, noticing he's in a school. A high school maybe? But it doesn't seem familiar to him.

Wait, where's everyone else?

A cold shiver runs down Jungkook's body, slowly rising up to his feet and look around the empty barren halls.

Did he enter a horror parallel life or something?

A bit more cautious now, Jungkook walks down the hallway while putting his hood up. He checks one of the windows of the classroom door to see it's empty inside. Now a bit more guarded, he carefully moved around with a tight hold of his gun from under his belt.

Can never be too careful, right?

Reluctantly Jungkook makes it out of the school's main entrance, being met with nothing but the brightness of the day and beautiful trees by the entrance of the school.

Damn sun is out, way to make his headache get worse.

Where the fuck is h-

"Chunky Chimmy is crying! Aw crybaby!"

"Look at this heathen, thinking he's better than us! Ha!"

Jungkook turns his head to the voices, carefully walking to the side of the school. Maybe he can get some answers to where is he or if in this world exists another Namjoon nearby.

Even though he would probably be completely useless.

Shit did they all get separated?

So Jungkook gets closer to the boys and rounds the corner of the building to suddenly stop in his feet, seeing a group of kids standing there.

And someone laying on the ground.

Ah great, what a nice flashback.

One of the boys slams a kick across the kid's stomach on the ground, laughing, "Where's your God to save you now huh? Little fucking heathen-"

Jungkook approaches one of the kids, grabbing his fucking head from behind and bashed it against the bricked wall. All eyes falls to him, but Jungkook only snarls his teeth with murderous eyes.

And one of them even had the audacity to laugh, "Aw Chimmy, looks like you-"

The gun in Jungkook's waist band is out, waving it with a small smile, "Finish that sentence and you're dead. Now get out."

The same boy smile's deflated, horror filling his eyes to the weapon and he scrambles back, just like the rest of the posse.

Ah, the power.

Amazing what a simple gun can do.

"Fuck this, don't think you'll get so lucky next time Park Jimin!"

"Ty shut up! He's got a fucking glock! Let's go!"

And just like that the boys ran away, just as it sinked in Jungkook's mind what the kid just said.

Park Jimin.

Jimin?

"L-Lovely?"

Jungkook snaps his eyes down, seeing a familiar boy weakly lay on the ground, trying to get up but fails lifelessly as tears glistened down his cheeks.

If he would've known they were beating up Jimin, ha, Jungkook wouldn't have had so much mercy on them.

Oh Taehyung would've had fun with this.

Putting the gun away, Jungkook reached down to the blonde haired boy, frowning to the sweat glistening his skin and blood to the corner of his eyebrow.

Shit he's beaten up pretty bad.

"Jimin can you hear me? Are you oka-"

The boy suddenly grabs the back for Jungkook's neck and leans with the little strength he had, crashing their lips together.

Woah.

Woahh okay.

Quickly Jungkook pushes him back, glaring at him, "What the fuck!"

Jimin looks hurt now, staring at Jungkook with wobbling lips, "Where w-were you? Do you realize how worried sick I was! A-And Taehyung said that you had something to do with your dad and you just disappeared-"

His hyperventilating now, barely even breathing as he pants with shakily breathes.

Wait, he knows him.

He knows Jungkook, but..... Not him.

Immediately Jungkook looks around, his heart hammering in his chest.

So this is another one of his parallel universes.

But where is he?

The him from this world.

Now looking at Jimin, he frowns, "Where was I?"

"I-I don't know! You disappeared off! I-I was trying to find you-"

He's definitely not making so much sense.

Shit.

Jungkook rolls his eyes, but he still reaches over and helps Jimin to his feet, caught off guard when the boy hugs his torso tightly with muffled sobs blurting out of his lips.

"I was s-so scared something h-happened to you. I thought m-maybe I said something wrong about having s-sex since you disappeared but ugh- these thoughts came back, and I started cutting and I'm so scared-"

Well, what a nice summary in a spam of seconds.

Jungkook slowly let's it register in his head that maybe in this world him and Jimin have some sort of thing going on? He did mention sex, and he did just kiss him out of nowhere. His counterpart must be missing somewhere so he's probably not anywhere to be found right now.

Okay, that's good, means he won't be caught.

Wait, back up.

Carefully Jungkook removes Jimin's arms from his waist, looking at Jimin's snuffling face with furrowed eyebrows, "You..... You cut yourself?"

Jimin guiltily closes his eyes, more tears streaming down his cheeks as he bows his head, "T-These thoughts wouldn't leave my m-mind, and my parents always yell at me for not being their ideal Christian child - I don't know, I'm sorry, I know I should be recovering but I felt so helpless, I didn't know what to do to relieve this pain-"

Carefully Jungkook holds Jimin in a side hug, never imagining ever seeing Jimin like this, and the sight hurts like a bitch.

The Jimin from his world is tough as hell, and he isn't one to break apart easily. No matter how many times he's nearly died as of now, he keeps his head high.

His precious best friend.

Maybe that's what Jungkook held in his heart, the nostalgia of thinking of his best friend, to carefully guide this Jimin to stand still as the boy slowly tries to gather his composure.

They have to go somewhere alone, in that way Jungkook won't get caught by more familiar faces until Namjoon can somehow get his ass back to where he is.

So Jungkook doesn't know where he's going, and maybe asking Jimin to take him to his place isn't exactly ideal.

Especially if his parents beat him.

Okay where can he go?

"Hey Jimin," He whispers, making the smaller male hums with a sniff, "You don't happen to know a private place where we could go to, right?"

Jimin stays quiet for a moment, anxiously rubbing his shoulder with heavy eyes to the ground, "Erm.... I don't know. Um," and he glances at the school, "S-School hours are closed. There's no one I-In there."

Well, that's one place.

And they don't really have much of a choice.

Like hell would Jungkook dare bring Jimin to his home either way.

So, he carefully guides Jimin back to the entrance of the school, well after having to nudge the lock to get in since it automatically closed shut behind him when he left.

Jimin didn't say anything, only eyed Jungkook with these mysterious eyes as the man pushes the door open and guides them inside. Jungkook knows enough about these damn schools to know to never linger around the first floor, since the janitors or security are bound to storm in with a higher chance.

But Jimin is still beaten up badly and he really needs some medical attention.

"Where's the nurse's office?"

Jimin by now is confused, eyebrows furrowed, "You know w-where it is - What happened to you?"

Jungkook annoyedly huffs and still guides Jimin down the hallway, "Just bear with me, where's the nurse's office?"

For a moment Jimin remained silent but eventually he points to down the hallway, "Down the hall to your right."

So Jungkook follows his directions, his annoyance growing bit by bit by how Jimin is trying to keep up with his pace. Stopping in his steps now, he leans down and carries Jimin bridal style in his arms.

Yeah, definitely much better.

By this act Jimin blushes, burying his face to Jungkook's neck, "I'm glad you're okay lovely."

Why does he keep calling him lovely?!

Is that some type of kink the two have together or something?

Jungkook tried to keep his lips sealed as he guides the two down the hallway, just to not make the other male upset, and turns to the door where it said Nurse's office. For that moment he had to put Jimin down and tweak with the door before barging inside with the lights off but the windows open, letting the brightness of outside cascade in.

Carefully Jungkook guides Jimin to one of the beds before scrambling off to find supplies to treat his wounds. Being an Oasis leader, he's dealt with a lot of shit revolving medical attention, so he's not naïve about that type of field.

So quickly he grabs a chair, putting the supplies beside Jimin on the bed and looks at him.

Seeing Jimin attentively staring at him back.

"Take your shirt off."

Jimin didn't budge a muscle, instead he reaches to one of Jungkook's hands takes it into his.

"What's going on with you? Did something happen while you were gone?"

Well yeah, lots of shit.

Jungkook bites his tongue, grimacing, "I'm fine-"

"No, you're not," Jimin continues to fight back, eyebrows furrowed, "You haven't even called me Angel and..... Y-You're not even looking at me like how you use to."

Hm, this is going to be harder than Jungkook expected.

So these two have a relationship, or something like that going on.

But very intimate.

As in emotionally intimate.

Jungkook can't tell this Jimin that he isn't his Jungkook. Not the guy who calls him his angel, the man who looks at him with love in his eyes, who knows about his religious parents beating him and the suicidal thoughts that cruises his head, or can even tell where the damn nurse's office is

That's a rule Namjoon said, they can't tell anyone they're from another world.

No matter the circumstance.

They have a task to do, and they have to accomplish that so they can go to their own world.

So, with a heavy sigh, Jungkook just looks at him a soft stare, gently caressing his knuckles, "I'm sorry Angel, it's just been...... A long day."

Jimin didn't nudge, his eyes fluttering down to their hands, "Where were you? Did I do something wrong?"

"I'm sure you didn't," Jungkook assures him, this time raising a hand and dabbing a cotton swab of alcohol to the bust by Jimin's eyebrow, "But.... I don't like the idea that your parents are hurting you, or that you cut yourself when things get rough."

Jimin looks at him now, Jungkook still focused on clearing his wounds, "You know there's nothing I can do. I can't escape them; they'll always find me. As for these thoughts.... I just feel so weak."

"Sure, there is things you can do," And he meets Jimin's eyes, "I once killed a guy who used his son for his poor excuse of logic. I'm sure you'll come up with something."

It was silent for a moment before Jimin suddenly snorts a smile, "Can't believe I believed that for a moment."

Ha, yeah, probably should.

Jungkook tries not to smile as he leans his hand back, "Alright, come on, shirt off."

Carefully Jimin takes his cream-colored sweater vest with his button up shirt.

Making Jungkook's breath clog his throat.

Oh shit.

Bruises and old belt whip marks are scattered on Jimin's skin, leading all the way to the cuts on his wrists.

So many cuts.

Shit.

"Jimin," Jungkook doesn't even have words, they're all clogged in his throat.

Jimin.....

How could someone ever hurt him like this?!

Shit, not even Jungkook was ever beaten like this and he's the leader of a Mafia.

Shyly Jimin looks down to his hands again, frowning, "W-While you were gone um.... I was picked on a lot..... And um.... Y-Your friends didn't really help much, you know? I mean obviously since you weren't there-"

"That's no excuse for them not to help you," Jungkook mutter drily, feeling his heart ache and it's not helping that Jimin's face is the same face as his best friend, "They're just not true friends."

Jimin just softly shrugs, "I thought.... We were friends though. I don't know. It hurt when Taehyung said to not worry about you, and you were all I could think about."

Jungkook looks at Jimin now with lips twitching to a frown, raising a hand and gently caress his hair with a thumb rubbing his jaw, "I'm here now, okay? You held on strong, and I'm proud of you."

With made Jimin gently flutter his eyes towards him, softly smiling while raising his wrists, "Not strong enough, clearly."

Jungkook eyed the scars on his wrists and slump his shoulders, frowning, "But you did your best, right? That's all that matters, I promise."

This made Jimin lower his wrists, lips pulled to a frown as he hugs himself with teary eyes, "I can only be strong for so long. I don't know what to do with my life. I feel so helpless, but I don't want to give up on us, not on you."

Swiftly Jungkook puts the supplies to the desk behind him, standing up now with hands on either side of Jimin's legs as he stares at his dim eyes of no hope.

Almost the same look Jimin held onto years ago when he decided to stop letting himself feel anything.

It's like Jungkook is reliving that all over again, but this time..... He can help this Jimin.

He lives in another world; he still has time.

He still has time to change his life.

So Jungkook carefully guides Jimin's face by under his chin, facing him, "The only person you can't give up on is yourself. Life out there is full of shit; I can tell you that because I lived through so much.... Hard things," Flashbacks to Taehyung's psychotic rampage and the familiar pink box flashes his head, his members going down, his gem dying being killed by his lover - so much shit, "Life out there is so much worse. You still can change how you want to live your life, and don't let anyone stop you from doing that."

Jimin looks at him with those sensitive glossy eyes, "B-But my parents, the church will find me - my father will and then he will-"

"You will find a way," Jungkook says, assure of himself, "You're Park Jimin..... You always do. You're strong, so start fighting back. I.... I believe in you..... I always do."

Slowly dropping his arms, Jimin fiddles with his fingers and closes his eyes, gulping, "I just need you by my side, to make me feel strong. Can you do that for me?"

"Of course," And Jungkook once against caresses his cheek, twitching a smile, "Church boy, hm?"

Jimin blushes a little, nudging his hand to his chest, "Stop. You're acting strange today, did your parents tell you anything?"

"Hey, you're changing the topic."

This time Jimin smiles, "Yes, I am a church boy. You love this church boy either way!"

Jungkook now chuckles, nodding slowly, "Yeah, perhaps I do," He whispers, studying his eyes softly, "Thank you."

"For what?"

"I feel like.... I needed this. To talk to you," He says quietly, feeling his heart get heavier, "I feel like my life is filled with so much shit and when I try to do something that I think is for a good cause, it just gets all mixed up."

Jimin slowly nods, wrapping his arms around his neck naturally, "I see. Well, I know you're an atheist but umm.... Luke 1:79 'To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death." He says quietly, softly smiling, "Be the clarity to those people who are suffering to the way to peace. Maybe people don't see your intentions now to what you do for them, even if it's for a great cause, but the point is to be a light of guidance to peace. If that makes sense."

Jungkook let's those words ponder over in his head, twitching a frown, "I..... What if I hurt someone, really bad? I don't regret it but, I regret how badly they got hurt by it. And they take revenge on me because of it. What should I do?"

Jimin carefully brushed a strand of hair away from Jungkook's face, twitching a smile, "Romans 12:21, 'Do not be overcome by evil but overcome evil with good," He says carefully, "If a person is seeking revenge onto you, don't react with revenge no matter how tempting it is, especially if it's someone you care about. Overcome it by being good."

"And what if they never forgive me?"

"2 Chronicles 15:7, As for you, be strong and don't give up, for your work will be rewarded," Jimin answers quietly, "Don't give up and be patient with them, and I promise you will be rewarded with forgiveness."

Jungkook snorts under his breath, "Ha, I doubt it. I have too many sins that God can't even forgive me for it."

"Ephesians 1: 7, 'In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in the accordance with the riches of God's graces," Jimin answers back, smiling with a shrug when Jungkook looks at him, "Perks of being a suicidal church boy, knows words of comfort that sometimes fails to cross my mind in my times of trouble."

Jungkook continues to stare at him, feeling his heart swell a little before smiling, "Well I have faith you can overcome it with that mind of yours. Just like how you tried to advise me just now."

"Oh wow, atheist being swayed?"

The two share soft giggles with each other before Jungkook puts his hand down from his cheek, staring at him while studying his features, "Can..... Can you say something, for me?"

Jimin tilts his head, grinning, "Anything for my lovely."

Lovely.

What a difference to what he's used to hearing about himself.

So... Tender.

Such a tender way someone sees him as.

This time Jungkook tries to stop the sheepish blush from forming his cheeks, but stays focused on his face, "Can you say.... The universe was made to be seen by my eyes."

This caught Jimin a little off guard, laughing softly to himself with an eyebrow perked, "What- Where did you hear that from?"

Jungkook snickers and looks at him more pleadingly, "Please, just once."

Jimin stares at him fondly, hands on his cheeks with this..... Gaze in his eyes.

It's so bright, so vibrant and..... Filled with light, unlike how dim his eyes were before.

Wow....

Just..... Wow....

This is how someone in love looks like?

Delicately Jimin scoots closer to him, making sure they're staring at each other eye to eye.

"The universe was made..... Just to be seen by your eyes."

Jungkook's heart ached a little, and he didn't know why. Those were the words him and his world Jimin use to share with each other as kids while growing up.

Words that tied their childish friendship from the past, all the way to the present

But this Jimin is saying those words with so much love in those eyes that it made Jungkook feel weak, unable to handle this dark sensation of vulnerability in his heart.

So vulnerable and heavy weight.

He can't put his finger on it..... But it hurt his chest.

A lot.

But at the same time felt nostalgic.

Shit, what's going on with him?

"Jungkook," He blinks, staring back to Jimin's gaze, that's filled with an evident pain, "Why.... Do I have a bad feeling that something bad is going to happen to us?"

That Jungkook felt too.

He just couldn't put it into words.

Frowning now, he didn't want to scare Jimin, so he rubs his lower end of his spine, "It's okay.... Whatever happens, won't last forever, yeah? We got each other. Till the end and farther ahead, that's a promise."

This made Jimin smile, and he didn't hold himself back from leaning forward and collapsing their lips together. It just lasted for a little while, just before he carefully pulls away but moves back in slowly to kiss him again.

And it made Jungkook's throat pull into a knot.

A fierce knot again.

Why is he feeling like this?

Maybe it's because until Namjoon decides to come back, he won't see this Jimin again? And Jimin will have to suffer alone until the other Jungkook appears?

Is it those words...? That for some reason felt so heavy as if it was the last time they were saying it to each other.

Technically it is, but yet why does it ache so much?

They barely know each other.

Who knows.

Jungkook doesn't know.

But for once, it felt like he was escaping.

From the world.

Just for a little while.

With someone who isn't judging his actions, hurting anyone he cares about, or just....

There's no pain.

As long as they have each other.

Something Jungkook wishes he had with Taehyung.

They're always coming at each other, and Taehyung sending Seokjin to a hospital to spite him after they teamed up to go after Sages isn't exactly something Jungkook finds healthy.

Yes, Jungkook really is into Taehyung without a doubt, but they're missing something that this Jimin and his Jungkook have.

Forgiveness and love.

The healthy kind of love.

And he doesn't know what to do in order to make things work.

He feels so helpless.

But with Jimin here, kissing him, it kinda felt like he has a bit more clarity than before.

He needed this.

Way more than Jungkook ever imagine.

So, he carefully pulls away, eyes closed, "God, why can't life be easier," He whispers to himself before looking at Jimin, "Can..... Can I stay here? Just for a little while longer."

Jimin captures his eyes, studying them before nodding slowly, "Of course."

And the two find themselves here, laying down on this similar bed that this Jimin and his Jungkook laid on before he went missing. Maybe that's why Jimin smiles as he lets Jungkook hold onto him, to the nostalgic memories, but for whatever reason it made Jungkookk disconnect himself to his previous world.

Having a bit more clarity on what to do when he returns back, but clinging onto this moment where he didn't feel scared - for once in his life.

He wasn't scared.

But at least he got to hear Jimin say these words again, after he hasn't said it in so long.

Time passed and who knows how long they stayed like this, but Jungkook only carefully caresses Jimin's arm as he sleeps like a soft small kitten against his chest.

And suddenly his eyes shift to the side when a clear spark formed the air, extending widely in a familiar portal with a body stepping through.

For a second he forgot that this was all magic shit going on, but then Jungkook almost cries in relief when he sees Namjoon standing there, looking around in hostility before looking at him.

"Jungkook! For fuck sakes, I've been looking everywhere for you guys-"

"Shh!" Jungkook shushes, glancing at a sleeping Jimin on him, "Where the fuck have you been? I thought you had this handled!"

"We got split up, but thanks for the cuffs I can locate you guys," Namjoon hushly says back, glancing at Jimin, "Did you.... Um.."

"No," Jungkook murmurs, "I didn't see them. Let's just go and find the rest first."

Namjoon nods and waits as Jungkook slides off Jimin's arms, but as he gets off, he just felt this little pang in his heart by just leaving Jimin like this.

So he turns to Namjoon, "Can we take him home first?"

Reluctantly Namjoon looks from Jungkook to Jimin before sighing and nods. Jungkook didn't waste time in gently taking Jimin in his arms, letting his head rest against his shoulder before walking to Namjoon. The man caresses a hand of blue glow over Jimin's forehead, staying still for a moment before nodding and glances to the portal.

The second Jungkook stepped through, he stepped out to a completely different environment. It's a room, small and plain with a cross to the wall. Jungkook tried not to cringe to the creaking on the floor as he carefully places Jimin on the bed, removing his shoes along the process and puts a blanket over his body.

For a moment he just stares at him, frowning.

The Jungkook from this world better protect him from his parents, he seemed really helpless alone.

"I'm a little scared leaving him like this," Jungkook whispers, brushing a hand to caress Jimin's hair, "His parents don't treat him well."

Namjoon stays still for a moment, staring at the two before carefully stepping forward and beside Jungkook. He forms symbols with his fingers in blue before pressing it to Jimin's forehead, letting it extend over his body.

"It's a protection spell," Namjoon says, calmly, "No matter how brutal any treatment he gets is, this spell makes sure his spirit and soul aren't destroyed, even if it seems like it is from an outside perspective."

Jungkook tightens his lips together, slowly nodding as Namjoon goes back to the entrance of the portal, "The second we leave, he won't remember any of this. So don't worry about that."

In some way, Jungkook wanted him to remember.

They shared a good moment back there.

But it's better if he didn't remember. After all, if his Jungkook is lost out there, Jimin will be left going a little crazy.

So Jungkook pulls back for a moment and grabs his wallet, taking out something with heavy eyes.

A crimpled paper with a small drawing of a flower with words circulating inside.

'The Universe Was Made Just to be Seen by Your Eyes'

He was going to give this to his in world Jimin, but.... This Jimin seems like he needs it more.

With a twitching smile, Jungkook takes one of Jimin's hands and clasped their hands together with the paper inside.

"The universe was made just to be seen by your eyes," Jungkook whispers quietly, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to Jimin's forehead, "See you soon... Angel."

And with that, Jungkook carefully pulls away, his eyes lingering to Jimin as he goes back to stand beside Namjoon.

His gaze saddens a little to the knot on his throat and he turns around, walking out the portal with Namjoon.

The second it closed, Jimin snaps his eyes open and gasps, sitting up immediately.

"L-Lovely?"

But no one was there.

Not even the crumbled paper that faded way to dust in his hand.
