The Girl Who Died/Lived
I decided that instead of doing the two partners in separate parts, I'd put them together as one and write them as one big episode, since they are two parters after all. It also gives me extra time to write them as one big chunk, and since the second part of the two parter came out recently, I'd better start reviewing it. ;) I know, I'm behind but I'm doing my best to catch up.
Enjoy!

This is gonna be brief as possible because I'm behind on this, as you may have noticed. The Odin stuff was interesting, although a friend of mine said the massive head in the sky reminded him of the sun in the Teletubbies, which naturally I found hilarious. The nicknames the Doctor gave the Vikings were funny, but the whole reason behind the Viking stealing 'gladiator energy' was stupid. The Mire were interesting aliens but we didn't get to know enough about them, except they were ordered around by an angry cyborg guy.
Then the Doctor goes, WE'RE GONNA FIGHT! And then? They don't. They do some technology crap which somehow mixes up reality and fiction or something and they retreated because of an image! Ever thought of taking the shades or visors off and THEN attacking? No? To smart for you is it? Of course it is. Then the girl died as the episode said. I liked the Mire regeneration chip thing.
Then the second part of the episode came around. The Knightmare was a classic pun, the voice she used was obviously computer generated and bugged me quite a bit as we knew it was her. What was the point of using such an obviously low pitched computer voice?! Her outfit and name were cool but the monologue stuff was good too, until the end. The end didn't make sense to me. The Dad jokes and the fast fighting was cool but I was sad I couldn't follow much of it because of how short it lasted. The secret she was hiding was interesting too, I guessed Cybermen but breathing fire lion was good too, I predicted her 'betrayal' and the lion guys 'betrayal' too but seriously!
I understand she didn't want to use the Doctor, but what was the point of having the guards there to tale him away when she could have easily used one of the guards as a sacrifice for the Eye of Hades thing! The execution jokes were funny but pointless because the guy didn't die in the end and she just stuck the thing in him, anyways so he didn't need to die in the first place! So what was the point of waiting til the execution?! God damn. The only thing that saved that ending was the Captain Jack Harkness reference. Loved that.
Oh well. That was my opinion, what did you guys think? Do you think Maisie will come back later in the season?
Anyways,
See ya round!
