why are there two johns?

one still has that abominable mustache 

and an odd bowler hat sort of thing.

one has no mustache, no hat, 

but the same warm face i've come to love. 

they flicker in and out, overlapping

like a bad computer edit.

one is concerned for the welfare of his pregnant wife. 

the other faced moriarty with me and kicked him off the reichenbach fall.

but then, i never faced moriarty alone, did i?

no, john was always there. 

i used to shut him out, because he was in my heart,

and you should never let your heart rule your head.

so i let moriarty rule mine, and he ran rampant. 

the mere thought of losing john sparked an overdose and he almost won. 

but when i needed it the most, he came back.

he came back, and we beat him. together. 

the two of us against the world, they say? yes. 

whether it's this world or the other world, it's always just the two of us. 

against the rest of the world, forever and always.
