Begin Again
Type: Songfic

Warnings: Mentions of a verbal abusive relationship
Take a deep breath in the mirror, he didn't like it when I wore high heels but I do
You bit your lip nervously as you adjusted your hair as you looked in the reflection of your phone, you were going on your first date since you'd broken up with your last boyfriend. Your ex's words echoed in your mind, too much make up, hair not parted just right. You slid your phone back into your purse, your knee shaking slightly. You smoothed the fabric of your (favorite color) top. Slipping in your ear buds as you watched city of London fly by. You leaned back and closed your eyes briefly, trying to bring yourself to relax. You bit your lip slightly, a harsh laugh attempting to escape your lips as White Horse by Taylor Swift played, the same song that helped you comfort yourself through your breakup.
Turned the lock and put my head phones on He said he never got this song, but I do
His voice plagued your mind as the cab came to a slow stop, you had lost track of time as the café sat right outside the car door. You'd taken the day off, funny how you were eating at the same café you worked at. You stared at it, fear creeping into your mind. What if he didn't like you? What if he thought you were annoying? What if he hated everything about you? You nibbled your thumb nail, the cab driver turned around, his brown eyes meeting yours. "You gettin' out miss?" He brushed whisps of graying dark hair from his face. "Y-yes." You answered, more for yourself then him. You placed your hand firmly on the handle, taking one more breath. This was going to be different, this was a fresh start. You popped the handle and opened the door, stepping into the not so fresh London air. Leaving the burden of your ex's abusive love in the cab.
Walked in expecting you'd be late but you got here early stand here and wait and I walk to you
You stepped towards the café, opening the door. You walked towards an open table, expecting to wait for what seemed like eternity for your date to arrive. You pulled your purse off your shoulder and started to sit when you heard someone call your name.
"Y/N!" You turned and found Greg a few tables down, you felt a small smile tug at your lips as you walked towards him. He was standing next to the table, his phone in hand. You watched, surprise freezing you as he pulled out the chair for you. You stared at him for a moment before snapping back to reality, "Thanks." You mumbled. Your ex would always fuss at you for always taking forever and go back to playing on his phone, which your later found was texting other girls. You cringed slightly at the memory. You mentally slapped yourself for remembering him again. Greg sat dow.
You pulled out my chair and helped me in, you don't know how nice that is but I do
Focus on Greg.
You studied the officer in front of you, you couldn't help but be attracted with his salt and pepper hair and dark eyes. You smiled softly, "I didn't think you would actually show up." He remarked, you couldn't tell whether he was joking or not at first. At least you didn't until you saw a sly smirk appear on his face, "Well I was tempted not to, but I never turn down free food."
"What makes you think I'm paying?"
You felt a warm blush spread throughout your cheeks. "I uh-"
Inwardly you were screaming. 'fuck. fuck. fuck. shit.'
"I'm kidding." He smirked and leaned forward, "I have some chilvary. Not a lot, but it's still there."
You smiled, "You gonna carry me off into the sunset in your shining armor?"
"I like you." He chuckled.
"Well I would hope so, your the one who asked me to dinner."
And you throw your head back laughin', like a little kid. I think it's strange you think I'm funny cause he never did
You found yourself loosening up, your insecurities fading as you both talked. A waitress came and you both placed your orders, only it's not easy when your best friend is your waitress.
Redheaded Angie came over, her notepad in hand. "Can I take your orde-" Her green eyes flickered up from her note pad onto you, then onto Greg. "Ooooo you finally moved on from the dick you called a boyf-
"Angie." You said sharply, feeling warmth spread throughout your cheeks.
She smirked, "Do you want me to take your order miss?"
"If you wouldn't mind." You looked down at the table, staring down at the table, reading over the menu you knew like the back of your hand. You both placed your orders, and Angie turned away, winking at you from the cash register.
"She has good intentions."
You looked over at Greg, who was fiddling with the end of his sleeve. "I know, she's jealous she can't get a date." You felt yourself grin slightly, easing into conversation at the harmless jab at your friend. "Well not one as good looking." He grinned.
"Touche." You smirked, picking up your glass and raising it to your lips.
The two of you talked and talked, as you did, you noticed the twinkle in his brown eyes and how much you adored his laugh.
I've been spending 8 months thinking all love does is break and burn and end , on Wednesday in a café, I watched it begin again
Your food was soon brought to you, but that didn't stop the conversation, unlike he used to. He would focus on his food, comepltelty tuning you out. It was more like talking to a wall then a person. But Greg wasn't like that, he was different.
"Then Sherlock dropped the vase, you should of seen the woman's face." Greg took a drink, you smiled and laughed, a hand flying up to cover your mouth.
"Why do you cover your mouth when you laugh?" He asked.
You looked down for a moment, "Let's just say I've been told I have the laugh of the donkey and the teeth to match." Your ex's face came to mind as you looked down at your glass.
"Well whoever said it was wrong." He offered a kind smile, you couldn't help but feel surprised. "Thank you." You smiled. You heard a phone ding and you broke your gaze from Greg's long enough to check it. Your eyes widened slightly, you'd been sitting there talking for a little over two hours. The sun was beginning to set, a warm orange painting the sky.
"Everything alright?" Greg asked, sounding slightly concerned.
"Yeah." You shook your head, you hadn't even noticed the time had gone back.
We tell stories and you don't know why I'm coming off a little shy but I do
"So is waitressing your dream job?" He raised an eyebrow.
"Nope I-" You stopped for a moment, your ex hated hearing you talk about it.
"You what?"
"I want to be a writer." You said, looking down..
"That sounds like a great job." Greg smiled.
"Really?" You looked up, a small smile forming.
Angie soon walked over, "Alright love birds, I hate to kick you out but it's closing time."
Greg blinked. "Already?" He'd seen surprised as you. "Yeah already." Angie placed the piece of paper in front of you. "Check time."
"I'll take care of that." Greg snatched it up before you could even look at it. The redhead bumped your shoulder with her hip, "He's a keeper."
You rolled your eyes and pushed her away, reaching for your purse, " I can't let you pay for it, you've already been too nice."
Greg handed Angie a variety of bills and sent her on her way before you could even pull out your wallet. You hit his arm playfully, "I was gonna get that."
"Well, you were too slow." He retorted, standing. He extended his hand to you, a new thing indeed. You took it, your hand seemed to fit perfectly in his as you stood. A warmth spread through you that you couldn't explain. He let go of your hand and you instantly missed his touch, you walked outside. "That was nice." You smiled.
"It was." He smiled, the cool winter wind blew at you both, ruffling his hair and blowing (hair color) locks from your ponytail. You looked down at your watch, your eyes widening slightly. "I have to go. I've got an interview with the local paper." You bounced slightly, excitement spreading through you.
"Sounds like you won't be waitressing much longer." He remarked.
"Hopefully." You smiled and turned away from him, you started to walk before stopping "Look, I had a great time, maybe we could do it again sometime?"
"I'd like that." He smiled.
"Great." You returned the smile, you took a risk and placed a kiss on his cheek. His eyes widened and you turned away, "Bye!" You waved before walking away, leaving Greg with a wide smile.
You had a feeling your first December was going to be a great one, and that this was one boyfriend you were going to keep.
On a Wednesday in a café, I watched it begin again

I NEED A NAME FOR THIS TAYLOR SAGA
Tons of updates hopefully this weekend cause I have no school tomorrow
THANK YOU OAKS DAY AND DERBY
So I'm gonna tell a story about how amazing my life is (note the sarcasm) So if you don't care keep reading. I need some advice
My BFF has this ex boyfriend that's also what seems to be her bestfriend. Even though he's moved on and has a girlfriend they still hug and cuddle (Which I do with her to so I don't really care) but she started cutting and getting really bad when he ignored her and didn't talk to her for three months. That's when I became really good friends with her, I found out that she cut and she found out that I cut as well. But now she's pawning after him and she won't talk to me almost at all now days cause she's with him. I was joking with him and said I want my bestfriend back and he said "Seriously dude she was never yours. She just hung out with you while she was mad at me. She's my best friend, not yours." I looked at her and she said "I'm not going to confirm or deny that statement." now i'm left with a like three friends but I don't know them as well cause I just met them this year. I'm happy she's happy with him, but I was breaking down in the bathroom just yesterday and I went to talk to her and she was too busy lying in his lap and talking to him. She keeps trying to get back together with him, I told her he has a girlfriend and he's moved on but she keeps saying "oh he'll be back." I'll poke at him and say "You have a girlfriend." and then he'll get mad at me. I have no idea what to do. I just want my friend back.
Also a side note, if you read depressed writings, I wrote Him about well him
Help.
Love y'all
Bye bye for now
