'Put that down,' you said, while looking up from your newspaper.
Sherlock was standing infront of you. He was holding your gun in his hands. He wad fascinated by it.
'I just want to use it,' Sherlock sighed.
'No.'
Sherlock looked at you. He was a little bit offended. Why didn't you trust him? He was Sherlock Holmes.
'Let me use it..'
'John will be furious when he sees you with that.'
'He won't notice if I am quick,' he said. You folded up the news paper and layed it on the small table in front off you. You sighed deeply while looking straight in Sherlocks eyes. He was holding your bag and gun in his hands.
'That thing makes a whole lot of noise,' you spoke. 'He will notice and so will Mrs. Hudson.'
Sherlock sighed in frustration. He almost put it down but he held on to it. He wanted to use for as long as you knew him. You never knew why.
'If we were alone,' he started. 'Would you let me use it?' You rolled your eyes, while pushing yourself up from your chair.
'Depending on the situation,' you said, while taking your stuff away from him.
Sherlock sighed again. He watched you put it away. Even though he hated what you were doing right now, he couldn't help but stare at you with a slight smile. He never thought he could feel this way towards anyone. But he had been together with you for a few months already.
'Why do you even keep it in your bag?' He asked, while frowning deeply.
You turned to look at him.
'I keep it where people would least expect me to keep it, but where it is still fast to reach when I need it,' you explained, while grinning widely.
Sherlock sat back and stared into your eyes. You immediately blushed and smiled at him.
'The chances are low that you'll even need that thing,' he said, obviously irritated. 'Unless you go out at night. When you look outside the window you can clearly see that it's early in the morning, which means I can use it safely. You won't be needing it soon. Now, hand it over. I am bored!' He stood up rapidly and walked toward you.
He stopped abruptly in front of you. His eyes were set on your bag. You put your bag on the floor next to you. Sherlock was a lot taller than you. You had always been attracted to tall guys with stunning blue eyes. He was exactly your type.
You raised your hands slowly and layed them on both his cheeks.
'Sherlock, listen,' you said calmly, while squishing his cheeks softly. 'I will not give you my gun, just because you are bored. Don't you remeber what happened last time?'
Sherlock pulled an annoyed face and pushed your hands of his cheeks. You sighed and lowered your hands.
'I payed Mrs. Hudson back for that wall,' he mumbled. 'I can just do it again.' You sighed deeply.
'You are so stubborn,' you laughed softly, while putting your arms around his waist.
You rested your head on his shoulders and gave him a gentle hug. He smelled lovely. He always had. Sherlock stood still, looking past you out of the window.
'You will never let me do what I want to do,' he sighed while petting your head. A sign to let him go.
'If you want to shoot a gun so badly, why don't you go out to a shooting range to shoot one?' You proposed, as you slowly let him go. Sherlock frowned and shook his head.
'I don't go outside for unnecessary purposes,' he stated. 'That's not what I do.'
You raised your eyebrows in surprise while stepping back from him.
'That's not what you do?' You asked. 'Yesterday you ran out of the appartement because a dog came by.'
'He looked like Redbeard,' Sherlock said quickly.
'Still, it wasn't him. That was a unnecessary purpose.'
Sherlock kept quiet as he moved away from you. You hated it when Sherlock was angry. He wouldn't hug you or give you any affection.
'I mean,' you continued. 'You will chase a dog that looks like Redbeard, but you won't even take me to the park.'
'The park?' Sherlock turned around. He had a confused look on his face.
'We haven't been out in ages..' You said. 'I miss going on dates with you or just spending some special time with you.'
'I have been very busy,' Sherlock told you. 'Correction, we have been very busy. Moriarty just won't sit still.'
You rolled your eyes.
'That isn't a good excuse,' you sighed. 'You have nothing to do now and still we haven't gone anywhere.'
'I told you this before,' Sherlock said irritated. 'Romance is a waste of my time.'
Your jaw dropped at hearing these words. Sherlock had told you many times before you started dating. "Romance is a waste of time. It'll only distract me." You never thought he would still feel like that.
'You have got to be kidding me!' Sherlock's face stiffened when your raised your voice. 'We are in a relationship, Sherlock. You can't expect me to not touch you, hug you or even wanting to spend time with you!'
'Y/N,' Sherlock said calmly. 'This shouldn't come as a surprise. We might be dating, but my work stays my top priority.'
Top priority?! You knew his works was important but weren't you important as well?!
'I can't believe you just said that,' you brought out. You sat down in defeat, staring up at him. 'I thought I meant a lot to you..'
'You do mean a lot to me,' Sherlock said.
'Than why do you say these stupid things!' You yelled out of frustration.
'Y/N, calm down,' Sherlock said. 'I am just stating facts. No need to get angry.'
You shook your head in disbelieve. He was only making you feel worse.
'Stating facts?' You ask. 'Even if there isn't any work you won't spend time with me! All you're saying all the time is "I am bored." If you're so bored, why don't you just take me on a date!'
Sherlock kept his mouth shut.. like he always did.
'Sherlock, there is no work.' You stated. 'I run after you and John all the time, hopelessly trying to help you wherever I can. Can't you give something back to me? A little quality time now and then is all I ask.'
'I'd rather spend my time differently than joining this useless conversation.'
'We have to talk about this,' you said. 'Even if you don't like it.'
Sherlock gave you a cold stare and slowly sat down in his chair. He grabbed the folded newspaper and opened it. He held it up high in front of his face. He was ignoring you.
You rolled your eyes. You moved up quickly and snatched the newspaper out of his hands. He looked up at you in surprise.
'Don't be such a child Sherlock,' you said annoyed. 'Please just say something that gives me a little bit of hope. Will we ever spend some time together?'
Sherlock stayed quiet for a moment.
'John and I have planned on going passed Lestrade to see if there are any more cases,' Sherlock told you. You frowned in confusion. 'Would you like to come with us?'
'Sherlock, that's not what I meant,' you sighed. 'Just the two of us. Something romantic.'
'After today we'll have plenty of work,' Sherlock spoke. 'I'll see if we can find time.' Sherlock smiled gently.
He still didn't get it. Why was it so hard for him to understand that you needed affection.
'You really need to sort out your priorities,' you said, while pulling up your coat from the chair behind you.
'What are you talking about now?' Sherlock asked. He frowned in confusion when he saw that you were putting on your coat. 'Where are you going?'
'I'm going out,' you said nonchalantly. 'Will you join me?'
'No,' Sherlock answered firmly. 'I will stay here. John will come home in a moment.' You folded your hands into a fist. Anger was raising up inside of you.
'Will you join me?' You asked slowly. You wanted to hear a yes.
You wanted the confirmation that he was willing to spend time with you. All you wanted was for him to grow even closer to you. You couldn't bare the distance any longer. You need to feel his love. Your voice was telling him to say.. or it was over.
'No, I won't be going out today,' Sherlock answer just as slow.
'Really think about your answer, Sherlock,' you spoke clearly. 'You're a smart man. Will you join me?'
There was complete silence for a moment. You didn't know why you asked him again. It was as if there was still hope inside of you..
'I will stay here.' He didn't even look at you. He stared out of the window at peace.
'I am sorry, Sherlock,' you said, while lowering your head. You were so dissapointed. 'I gave you a chance. I don't understand how you can put your work so high above me.. Give me a call when you sort out your priorities. I will be waiting.' Without allowing Sherlock to say another word, you walked our of the appartment and closed the door behind you.
Sherlock was left behind, feeling confused. He turned his head towards the door, but didn't see you standing there. He quickly got up and walked towards the window. He looked out over the street and saw you walking there. A tear rolled down your cheek as you looked up at the window. Your eyes locked for a moment, but you pulled yourself away from his stare and walked away.
Sherlock just stood there. He didn't understand what happened, but his chest hurted when he saw you crying. He placed one hand against the window and brought out one word.
'Y/N..?'
