Chapter 32

*Inside*
Door Open

Jeff went and step aside, allowing the detective to go first.
Sherlock eyes the man curiously before he decided to step through the doorway and into the dark room.

Door Close

Jeff turns and walks over to a light switch on the wall, Flick!
Turning the lights in the room as...Noise...Noise...
Revealing a large classroom the two men are standing in as there are long fixed wooden benches and free-standing plastic chairs.
Sherlock went and stepped around the experimental benches until...he spotted someone.
He instantly rushed on over and found...Jane on her side!
Sherlock went and grabbed hold of her wrist, her pulse was slow.
Jane was unconscious as she has no injuries, but drugged.

"Well..."

"what do you think?" Jeff asks Sherlock as the detective takes in the details of the room.
Sherlock turns to look back at the killer and raised his hands, shrugged before turning back to Jane.
"It's up to you. You're the one who's gonna die ere" Jeff announced with a smirk, confidently.
Sherlock turns back to him, "No, I'm not" he countered.
Making Jeff become amused at the detective words, "That's what they all say" he stated with a smirk.
The killer gestures to one of the benches, "Shall we talk?"

Jeff walk over and pulls out one of the chairs.
He went and sat down on the chair, "...."
Sherlock look back at Jane for a moment before he turns and walk over to the bench where Jeff is.
He flips a chair around and sits down opposite the killer.

Sherlock went and takes off both of his gloves off his hand, "Bit risky, wasn't it?" he questions.
"Took me away under the eye of about half a dozen policemen" he warned as he puts his gloves into his pocket.
"They're not that stupid" Sherlock stated.

Chuckle

"You call that a risk?" Jeff asked, dismissed easily.
"Nah" he whispered.
"This is a risk" Jeff stated as he reaches into one of his pocket and takes out a small glass bottle.

With a screw on top as Jeff went and placed the bottle onto the table in front of Sherlock.
Inside the bottle is one large capsule as Sherlock just stares at it.

"Oh..."

Jeff grinned, "I like this bit. 'cause you don't get it yet, do yer?" he asked.
Sherlock eyes flit up in curiously, "But you're about to. I just have to do this" Jeff said and reaches into his pocket again.

Jeff went and takes out an identical bottle containing an identical capsule.
He placed it onto the table and beside the first bottle...

Sherlock eyes flicker between the two bottles.

"You weren't expecting that, were yer?" Jeff asked before leaning forward.
"Ooh, you're going to love this" Jeff stated, making Sherlock slightly annoyed at that.
"Love what?" Sherlock inquired and Jeff leaned back.
"Sherlock olmes. Look at you! 'Ere in the fresh. That website of yours. Your fan told me about it" Jeff tells him.
"My fan?" Sherlock repeated, slightly confused.
"You are brilliant. A proper genius.'The Science of Deduction" Jeff complimented.
"Now that is proper thinking" Jeff stated before he paused.
"Between you and me. Sitting ere, why can't people think?" Jeff asks him grumbily, looking down in anger.
"Doesn't it make you mad?" Jeff ask another question.
"Why can't people think?" he repeated with a taste of bitterness before looking back up at Sherlock.
Sherlock look back at the man, narrowing his eyes before making a realisation.

"Oh, I see"

"So you're a proper genius too" Sherlock mused, sarcastically.

Chuckle

"Don't look it, do I?" Jeff asked with a smirk.
"Funny little man driven a cab. But you'll know better in a minute. Chances are it'll be the last thing you ever know" Jeff explains to him.
Sherlock holds his gaze, for a second or two before...looking down to the table where the two bottles are.
"Okay, two bottles. Explain" Sherlock demands.
"There's a good bottle and a bad bottle" Jeff simply replies.
"You take the pill from the good bottle, you live. Take the pill from the bad bottle, you die" Jeff explains to him.
"Both bottles are of course identical?" Sherlock noted.
"Of course. In every way" Jeff confirmed.
"And you know which is which?" Sherlock asked.
"Course I know" Jeff replies with a nod of his head.
"But I don't..." Sherlock trailed off.
"Wouldn't be a game if you knew. You're the one who chooses" Jeff pointed out.
"Why shouldn't I? I've got nothing to go on?" Sherlock questioned as Jeff face remains blank.
"I 'aven't told you the best bit yet" Jeff answered with a grin.
"Whatever bottle you choose, I take the pill from the other one-and then..." Jeff said and paused, changing to a hoarse whisper.
"together, we take our medicine" he finished, making Sherlock started to grin as he beginning to like the sound of it.
"I won't cheat" Jeff promised.
"It's your choice..." he said.
"I'll take whatever pill you don't" Jeff tells him as Sherlock went and looks down at the two bottles.
"Didn't expect that, did you, Mr olmes?" Jeff asked with a smirk, proudly.
"This is what you did to the rest of them?" Sherlock asks back.
"You gave them a choice" Sherlock stated, defecting the question.
"And now I'm givin 'you one..." Jeff said back and looks up at him.
"You take your time. Get yourself together" Jeff stated, licking his lips.
"It's not a game. It's chance" Sherlock argued.
"I've played four times. I'm alive" Jeff points out.
"It's not chance, Mr olmes, it's chess. It's a game of chess, with one move, and one survivor" Jeff told Sherlock.
"And this..." he began to say and paused for a moment.
"is the move" Jeff said and with his left hand slides the left-hand bottle across the table.
Towards Sherlock, licking his top lip as he pulls his hand back.
"Did I just give you the good bottle or bad bottle?" Jeff asked.

"You can choose either one"
