Chapter 16
*221B*
Sherlock dumped the pink suitcase onto the kitchen table.
Zip..Zip
Sherlock opened the case and started searching through it.
*Outside Warehouse*
The car pulls and halts outside an abandoned warehouse.
Deserted, desolate and creepy Door Open
An woman gets out of the car after the man had opened the door.
Jane gets out after her and the woman leads her into the warehouse.
*Inside*
Voice...Voice
*Imagine another chair and him talking on his phone*
"Who was it?" a man ask into the phone as the woman leads Jane further into the empty warehouse.
*Living Room*
"I don't know"
Mia is sitting on the sofa on the phone, "I saw Juliette being dropped off by a random stranger that I never saw in my life" she stated.
*Warehouse*
"What did she say when you have a word with her?" the man asked as the woman told Jane to stop walking.
Jane did as she was told and the woman turns, walking away.
"She's just told me he's a friend dropping her off"
"Don't worry, I will talk to her and see what I can deduce" he said as Jane waited patiently.
"Thank you"
"I better get going, I got work to do" he tells her and said their goodbyes before hanging off.
Click!
The man put his phone away and turns to Jane.
"You know, I've got a phone"
Jane went and started to walk forward towards the man, "I mean, very clever and all that, but, er...you could just phone me. On my phone" she tells him.
"When one is avoiding the attention of Sherlock Holmes, one learns to be discreet, hence this place" the man replied with a polite smile.
The man gestured to the chair and Jane sat down as he does the same.
*Imagine Mycroft and Jane sitting down*
*Imagine its Jane and the two of them sitting down*
Chuckle
"Ah, yes. The bravery of a doctor" the man said and smiled.
"Bravery is by far th kindest word for stupidity, don't you think?" he asked.
"Look, why am I here?" Jane asked.
"What is your connection to Sherlock Holmes?" the man ask Jane a question.
"I don't have one" Jane answered.
"I barely know him. I met him yesterday" she stated.
Mm...
"since yesterday you've moved in with him and now you're solving crimes together" he said.
*Imagine the two sitting down and Jane, not John*
"Who are you?"
"An interested party" he simply stated.
"Interested in Sherlock?" Jane asked and he nods his head.
Jane raised an eyebrow, "Why? I'm guessing you're not friends" she said.
"You've met him. How many friends do you imagine he has?" he said to Jane.
"What about James Gregson?" Jane asked.
"That's a entirely different case" he answered.
"I am the closet thing to a friend that Sherlock Holmes is capable of having" he tells her.
"And what's that?" Jane asked in curiously.
"An enemy" he replied, straightening his tie.
"An enemy?" Jane repeated.
"In his mind, certainly" he stated.
"If you were to ask him, he’d probably say his arch-enemy. He does love to be dramatic" the man tells her.
Beep!
Jane went and gets out her phone from inside her bag.
She look at her phone, seeing a text message.
Baker Street.
Come at once.
if convenient.
SH
"I hope I'm not distracting you" he coldly ask her, with a hint of sarcasm.
"
No, not distracting me at all" Jane replies and put away her phone.
"Do you plan to continue your association with Sherlock Holmes?" Jane asked.
"I could be wrong, but I think that's none of your business" Jane tells him.
"It could be" the man responded.
*Imagine him sitting down doing this*
"If you do move into, um...two hundred and twenty one B Baker Street in the near future"
"I'd be happy to pay you a meaningful sum of money on a regular basis to ease your way" he said and closes the notebook.
"Why?" Jane asked, curious of what this man is planning.
Chuckle
"Because you're not a wealthy woman" he stated.
"In exchange for what?" Jane questioned.
"Information" he answered.
"Nothing indiscreet. Nothing you'd feel...uncomfortable with" he assures her.
"Just tell me what he's up to" he told Jane.
"Why?" Jane asked.
"I worry about him. Constantly" he confessed with a smile.
"That's nice of you" Jane tells him.
"But I would prefer for various reasons that my concern go unmentioned" he stated.
"We have what you might call a..." he started to say and pauses.
"difficult relationship" he informed as the man inspected his umbrella.
Beep!
Jane went and check her phone again, If inconvenient,
come anyway.
SH
"It's a very lovely offer, but I'm afraid I have to say no" Jane answered, making the man face fell.
"But I haven't mentioned a figure" he protested.
"I don't want to know how much money" Jane replied and stood up.
"I must be an idiot to you. Because what sane person accepts a deal made by a unknown man with an umbrella in an abandoned warehouse. I realise I just met Sherlock, but he trusts me and I trust him. So I'm saying no for money to spy for him" Jane said.
"...."
"
Are we done?" Jane ask the man.
Footsteps...Footsteps
The woman leads Jane away as the man watched them go.
Could be dangerous.
