A/n: Sorry everyone. I know it's been forever since I updated. I got caught up making special holiday chapters for my other stories.

Another thing, It's been kinda hard to write about a song you felt deep emotions for almost 5 years ago so to get inspiration to write Shelter chapters are kinda slim. 

I'll try to do my best now and hope you all understand.

Without further waiting, let's get to the chapter.

"3...2...1. Happy Sunslight!!" the crew cheers from all over. The view of the sun reaches the camera outside the space station. A beautiful golden sphere of gaseous energy making its way to the distant station in space.

"It's amazing" I say I awe. It was a bit different from the view in earth but it was still a beautiful sight to see. Dr. T and Renella stand on either side of me as we watch the large star pass by on the monitor.

"Happy Sunslight Rin" Dr. T says bringing me closer to his side. The star sends a bright light covering us. I use my hand to shield my eyes from it.

"Happy New Year Rin!" a new voice shouts. Party blowers and noise makers fill the air. I rub my eyes trying to clear my sight. I couldn't believe where I was again.

"Oh our first New Years together! This is so great" Mom says with the biggest smile. I was in my home again. My home, with my mom and dad all fine again.

"M-Mom?" I carefully ask them. I knew the last time they seemed worried about my condition so I had to sound normal.

"What is it honey? Do you want another slice if cake?" she asks cutting a small slice from the sheet cake. It was covered in vanilla icing and had the words 'New Years Celebration' on it. "There you go. I wouldn't want you to get cavities so soon"

"Oh what's wrong with spoiling her from time to time" Dad teases. He scoops out some ice cream and plops it into my plate. "Enjoy. It's New Years so we can enjoy as much as you like." Dad steals a spoon of ice cream and cake from my plate. "Don't tell Mom, but I'm supposed to be dieting." I giggle as he quickly eats his bite. It felt too real, only this time I wasn't freaking out with an attack. I look to the T.V to see fireworks exploding over a temple. The rainbow of colors as many others celebrate and cheer below. Mom and Dad kiss each other as their first kiss for the new year. I just felt amazed and happy to be here again. Mom, Dad, my home still here and it was like the collision never happened. I cut into the cake and have a bite for myself. Strawberry and cream, just like...how Dad made it..all those years..

"Rin? Is something wrong?" Mom asks noticing something about me. She quickly walks over to me and wipes away tears that were burning against my face.

"Oh no. Did the cake turn out bad? I should've checked the store for-"

"It's fine" I stop Dad. "I'm..just really happy is all. I couldn't hold it in"

"Oh Rin honey" Mom hugs me hard. "If your that happy then we're that happy as well"

"Agreed" Dad says hugging both of us from behind. The warmth of both my Mom and Dad felt so comforting. It felt..safe.

"Thanks Mom. Dad. I'm sorry for worrying you." Mom shushes me as she rocks back and forth.

"It's fine Rin baby. Nothing to be sorry about." Dad had walked away and came back with something.

"What's that?" I ask him.

"It's a camera. I thought we should record this moment for the future" Dad explains. He looks though the window and focuses the camera at us. "Now smile." I smile as Mom clutches to me closer with a brighter smile.

*Click*

"You two look so cute" Dad says showing us the picture. I looked a lot like Mom.

"This is perfect. When you get it processed, make sure to frame it next to Rin's baby photo okay?" Mom tells Dad.

"Sure sure. I can do that" Dad says snapping another one.

"Dad I wasn't ready" I whine teasing him.

"Then get ready, here comes the next one." I smile and pose as Dad takes photos of me and Mom on our first news years together. It still felt like a dream. To be home again and spending all this time together.

"Ah Rin. I was meaning to ask you" Mom begins. "Do you think your ready for school?"

"School?" I ask in confusion. Dr. R did talk about how earth had a system of adults teaching the children about history and other subjects.

"Yes school. You'll be able to meet with other students and even get to know your teachers too. We wanted to make sure you were ready for it so.."

"I think I'm ready now. It's been a while but I feel ready to go" I tell them with a smile. School, a new experience that I can't wait to find out.
