July

After the launch party for Queen's first album, a day later it was Brian's birthday celebration on July 19th. Bri was twenty-six years old and there was a celebration in the pub and in his parents' house. Bri is a bit quarrelsome with his father, therefore, he does not accept that Bri has given up the PH D in Astrophysics and that Bri is only now asked only with the band. On Bri's birthday in the pub, I asked my friend if I could take Luke because I do not want to keep holding a candle from any friend's couple. Bri agreed, though, not liking Luke much. Luke went with me to the pub and I noticed that Rog felt annoyed by Luke's presence, but, damn it, he's with Jena. During the night it was very good. Luke and I both danced a lot.

A week later, July twenty-six was Roger's birthday. And he said to me,

"Unlike Brian, I do not want you to take Luke. He does not like me and I do not like him either. I hope you understand and understand, Bella.

"Okay, I'll answer," he said simply.

And really Luke did not go to the twenty-fourth anniversary of Roger's birthday.

After two weeks of the boys' album release, the album sold slowly and was in 32nd place in the UK. In the press there were positive reviews such as: a shocking and dynamic debut of underground magazine Time Out. However the Musical Express was sarcastic and ended the image of the band when he said: a bucket of urine collides.

Freddie, Brian, Roger and John were very hurt by the heavy criticism and generated a great resentment towards the music press.

"One day the music press will recognize Queen's work, but it will be too late. From now on I declare war on the music press, "said Roger in disgust and understood perfectly why.

August

During the month of August, the boys went into the studio again to record a new Queen album. There were more songs, ready to be recorded. Roger had already graduated from Biology, only John will begin his Masters in Electronic Engineering at the end of September. For the whole month, Monday through Friday this time all day, they recorded up to twelve hours a day and on Saturdays they recorded in the morning.

They recorded the songs: Procession, Father to Son, White Queen (As It Began), Some Day one day, The Loser in the End (written and sung by Roger and in this music he honors his mother, because she gave affection and love For him in the last twenty years, but now Rog must go his own way). Also recorded: Ogre Battle, The Fairy Feller's Master - Stroke, Nevermore, The March of the Black Queen, Funny How Love is and Seven Seas of Rhye.

At the end of August, what I did not expect happened: my childhood friend Luke confessed to me that he is in love with me and that if I ever accepted him as a boyfriend he would be the happiest of men. I talked and asked for some time to think and he accepted. Still in August, Queen performed at the Mayfair club in Newcastle.

September

In September it was my turn to introduce Luke as my boyfriend on Freddie's twenty-seventh birthday. I told Freddie I would take Luke and my friend authorized me to take my childhood friend. I decided to give Luke a chance and we're officially dating now. Roger came up to me and said in my ear,

"I can not believe you're dating this idiot Luke, it sounds like a nightmare.

"Rog, do not worry about it, my friend, now you have your girlfriend, Jena, to make you happy," I said, smiling at Roger.

Of course Roger got pissed off with all this.

On September thirteen they played at Golders Green Hippodrome in London.

 October.

In October the boys participated in the recording of the tracks of Keep Yourself Alive and Liar for a promotional video. And Trident hired another ad to work with Queen's footage. During the month of October, the band performed in some pubs in London and also gave presentations in Bonn, Germany and the club Le Blow Up, in the City of Luxembourg. My relationship with Luke was good, although I did not love Luke, I was giving him and my heart a chance.

November

As a warm-up for the Mott the Hoople tour, Queen scheduled two performances at Imperial College and invited photographer Mick Rock to record the footage of the show, performing on November 2nd. Rock was a graduate of Cambridge University and already photographed for Bowie, Lou Reed. After performing at Imperial College, Mick took promotional photos of the band for the tour at Trident's request. Mick Rock's first photo shoot showed the boys crowding around Freddie, who wielded a gigantic scepter. But the boys did not like the pictures and Mick Rock's next move was to make the boys appear naked from the waist up. The boys loved it and the photos were successful in teen magazines.

EMI now paid Queen to open the Mott the Hoople performances on a UK tour in December.

In late November, Luke and I went out for dinner on a Saturday. The girls and boys had called me to go to the pizzeria with them and that I could take Luke, but my boyfriend did not want to go and said we'd better go to the restaurant just the two of us. We had dinner in a delicious restaurant and after dinner, when we were going to the parking lot, Luke and I got in the car and he said,

- My kitten I have here with me something that I love and that I believe you will love. It leaves you in another world, totally psychedelic.

"And what have you got there, Luke?" I asked curiously.

He opened the glove compartment of the car and showed he had heroin, cocaine and marijuana.

"Luke, are you crazy?" I did not know you were a drug user, that consumes those crap. Did you ever wonder if the police come here and arrest you? She would surely be arrested, too, for being with you. She said irritably.

"My love, relax, I'm not a chemist, and the amount I have here is not just for me. I see it too, "Luke said matter-of-factly. "I'm a Veterinary Medicine student, I'm doing internships, but do you think the internship money helps me spend all the luxury life I have here in London?"

Luke really wears expensive clothes, has an expensive car, pays rent for an expensive apartment, wears imported perfume, now it's explained.

"I'm a college student, Luke, and I have my sacrifices, but I'll never be a drug dealer or a drug user. Let go of this life, before it's too late, "I said with tears in my eyes.

"Sweetheart, nothing will happen to me or to us, okay? I promise I will not offer you any more drugs, though, try marijuana first, stop being a sill, experiment a little.

Roger had tried marijuana at the age of fourteen. So I agreed to try marijuana a little. When I finished experimenting, I decided to get out of the car, my head ached and I felt sick. Luke had snorted cocaine and was crazy.

"Bella, my love, let's go, I'll take you home." Said Luke.

- Leave me alone, Luke. How could you have offered these crap to me and me being stupid to have accepted. Go away, I will not come home with you.

Angry Luke went out singing tire, at high speed. It was past eleven-thirty. Is that time Roger already at home or went to another place after the pizzeria? I went to the phone booth in the restaurant parking lot and dialed Roger's apartment number. He picked it up and heard Jane's voice in the background.

"Rog, who's talking is Bella, please come get me." I'm feeling bad. He said weakly.

I passed the address and sat down on the parking lot without strength.

POV Roger

I was in my apartment watching a movie with Jena, when the phone rings. It was Bella and by her voice she is not well. She said she needs to go get her and she passed the address. I realized that Jena got pissed off with me.

"So you mean, whenever Bella calls you in the dead of night, when you're alone, will you help her?" Jena asked.

"Of course I'll always help Bella and all my friends, my sister anytime they need. Bella is one of my best friends and I want to see what's going on. If you want to join me, otherwise stay here waiting for me, "he said irritably, and Jena actually stayed in my apartment. Fuck you.

I drove as fast as I could to where Bella was. When I saw her sitting in the parking lot of the Italian restaurant, I picked her up and realized how white she was.
