They kept me chained up for only God knows how long. I lost track of time in that room. There was no windows. Hours passed. The only human interaction I got was when a plate of food was slid underneath the door. And yet, maybe I'm not human anymore. The only thing I liked about this place was that they had given me wings. My wings were strong. They where amazing. I could wrap myself in them and escape this horrible place, they where warm and welcoming.
One day, or night for that matter, a young guard came into my cell. "Miss," he said, "your coming with me to meet the others," I was shocked. There where other freaks? I nodded and walked towards him. He strapped my hands behind my back with handcuffs and then led me through hallways. So many. He also had my wings pinned behind my back. Trust me, he wasn't gentle.
The only sound was the gentle slap of my bare feet and his shoes hitting the ground. Sooner or later, we reached a room. And in the room there was multiple cells, no bigger than one for a horse. He shoved me into one and locked the metal gate with a clang. The chains holding my ankle was immediately magnetized to the wall, and the end was sucked into some kind of hole. There was the harsh sound of metal on metal than, all was silent.
"Hello?" I asked into the darkness. A pair of glowing eyes flickered open. It's pupils were slits, her eyes glowed bright yellow.
"Do you mind?" Came a annoyed, most likely female voice.
"Um," I said, looking around.
"It's the middle of the night!" It hissed at me, and I said no more, clamping my mouth shut. It would be better not to piss anyone else off tonight. Slowly, I laid down on the concrete, wrapping my wings around myself, providing warmth.

I woke up slowly, groaning and stretching, my feet and hands reached the end of the small cell that I was in. This is going to be great I thought with a groan rolling over to discover a pair of sea green eyes staring right into mine. Feeling electrified I jerked back, my heart gaining speed. "Hello sleeping beauty," he said, his eyes glimmering with humour. I glared at him. His wavy brown hair was shaggy, like he hadn't cut it in a while.
"To who do I owe the pleasure?" I grumbled, still glaring.
"I'm Sterling," he said, "one of the only half bird hybrids we have in this facility,"
"Griffin," I replied, "and I..." I paused, "I don't really know what I am,"
He looked at me weirdly. "Well, you must be able to fly, because your cage has a roof on it," he said as I looked up. The cage went to the roof, stopping just an inch off of it. It was too high to climb, but many of the cages didn't have roofs I realized.
"Okay.." I said, rolling my eyes.
"Turn around and spread your wings," he said. I raised an eyebrow skeptically.
Slowly, I turned around, spreading my 'wings' out for him to see. "Wow," I head him mutter. Turning back around I sat down so I could look him in the eye. "You have dragon wings!" He muttered, deep in thought.
"What did you just say?" I asked, not sure I heard him right. He opened his mouth to speak to me, but than a scientist walked into the small room. He gestured to my cage. "This is Griffin," he stated to the others, "she is a combination of two types of species, Pretodactlye and Draco," he said excitedly, as if I was one of his biggest accomplishments.
"Treat her well and teach her the rules, I shall see you all later," he said nodding, and walked out of the room. I glanced at Sterling, wondering what this all meant.
