Since that moment
Chapter Seven
Two years ago

"Okay, one more time, and then we're done for the day," I encouraged them, but Law groaned in objection, tilting his head back.
Of course he wouldn't agree with me.
"In two days is the most important gig since we started playing as a band," he pointed out, twiddling drum stick between the fingers of his left hand. "We need to give them our everything."
"What the fuck are you two talking about?" Drew lit up a cigarette as he put down his bass on its stand, backing out from the microphone. "We're playing at a fucking high school party."
"In front of two hundred people, Drew!" Law yelled, throwing a stick at him, which he successfully dodged. "That is the biggest gig we got since we started playing together!"
"So, what is the fucking problem? We have these songs memorized by heart," he replied, inhaling the nicotine.
We have been practicing in Law's garage for six hours now and I think it started showing. Anytime we had a gig, we would bust our asses off, but never like this. We're a band because we love music, not because we want to be successful.
While I was thinking, they got into a heated argument, and Drew started walking towards Law, who got up from his drum set.
Oh, fuck no.
They won't fucking fight right now. We need to stay focused.
"Hey, what the fuck is wrong with you two?!" I yelled and snatched Drew's hand, dragging him back behind the microphone.
"We'll go through the setlist one more time and we'll call it a day, alright?" I asked, looking at both of them.
Law nodded and sat at the chair behind his drums and Drew scoffed, putting out the cigarette and grabbing his bass.
They acted like girls on periods, for fuck's sake!
So, we did exactly that - we played the songs that we thought would make the atmosphere crazy, which took us another two hours and two more fights.
"Okay guys, we'll rock the stage on Friday," I announced proudly, placing my electric guitar in its case, and Drew did the same with his bass and microphone.
"We better," Law remarked with a grin. "If nothing else, Drew will have at least ten girls begging to go in the bed with him."
"You fucking bet I will," Drew replied with a smirk, lighting another cigarette.
I laughed - yep, those are my best friends.
"Bye, douchebags," I greeted them before I walked out of the garage.
Instead of going home and facing my father, I headed towards Zara's house, where I knew I was always welcome.
Although it's Summer, my father never approved of my love for music because he thought I will never get anywhere with it. Mum stood by his side, no matter what I said because she was scared of losing him.
I pulled out my phone and plugged in earphones, playing my favorite music while I walked through quiet, small neighborhoods. It was already nine p.m. and the sun was slowly disappearing behind the horizon, coloring the sky in beautiful shades of pink and red.
My lungs filled up with fresh air and I closed my eyes, enjoying the moment while my favorite song of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Dosed, played. This was my favorite part of the day, it was simply beautiful.
I stood in place for a while, admiring the beauty of the sight in front of me.
When I reached the white mansion with huge glass windows complimenting its size and fresh, green lawn surrounding it in a perfect circle, I pulled out the key they gave me a long time ago, entering the house.
With the amount of time I spent here, Aunt N gave me my room, which I decorated according to my taste. I was eternally grateful for their hospitality because I slept here almost every day.
Aunt N instantly appeared in front of me, squeezing me into a hug.
"My baby!" she squealed, to which I laughed. "How was your day?" she asked, stepping away to analyze me.
"It was rough, but with the hard work we put into our performance, I bet more people will be calling us to play," I filled her in, flashing her a small smile.
"I'm so proud of you!" she flashed me a wide smile as I put the guitar case on the floor. "Zara is not home yet but will be in a second. She's bringing over a friend."
I smirked. "Oh, another one?" I asked, teasing her. She laughed, shaking her head.
"I knew you would say that, Sar. But, no, she's not bringing a boy," she corrected me, still smiling.
One, or better say at least ten times, Zara sneaked in a boy, who was older than her at least four years, and you could imagine what were they doing in her room.
"Okay, well, I'm going to my room," I sighed, picking up my guitar and kissing her cheek. "Tell her I'm here when she comes."
"Of course," she nodded as I climbed up the stairs, which led to a huge hall with ten rooms and mine was at the end of it. On them were my name tag and black sign with red words 'DO NOT ENTER!'.
I opened the doors, glancing at the window on the opposite side of me, which looked down on the pool at the back of the house. My bed was by the wall to my left and my desk was on the other side of the room. The closet doors were on the left side of the desk and my bathroom was on the right side.
I placed the guitar on its stand and closed the door behind me. I sighed and laid on the bed, blasting music from my phone. Zara hated it when I do this because our rooms are right next to each other, but her reaction always made me laugh, so I decided to risk it.
I closed my eyes, focusing on the music rhythm. AC/DC always pissed her off the most, so I let Back In Black play.
"SARADONYX, I WILL CHOP YOUR BALLS OFF!"
Ah, there she is. My lovely cousin.
My doors flew open, letting the light from the hall shine in, while her figure glared at me.
"Hey, Zara," I greeted her, flashing her an innocent smile. The music was still blasting and I could see her breathing heavily, trying so hard not to kill me.
"Is this your room-"
I sat straight in bed, not able to take my eyes off a girl who just walked into my room. Our eyes looked into each other and I wasn't able to say anything. She had long, brown hair and plump lips, which complimented her big hazel eyes.
Zara walked towards me, turning the music off herself. "You fucking idiot," she growled and walked out of my room.
I got up from the bed, offering my hand to the girl. "I'm Saradonyx," I introduced with a smile.
She took my hand and shook it. "Storm."
"Where are you?! The movie is about to start!" Zara called Storm from her bedroom.
"Are you staying over?" I asked, trying to sound like a man, even though her look made me weak. I never felt like this. With anyone.
"Yeah, I'm sleeping in Zara's room," she informed me, looking over her shoulder then back to me. "I should probably go. By the way, I love AC/DC," she flashed me a smile and then disappeared behind the bedroom door.
I stood there for a while, not able to move my legs.
"C'mon, Sar, she is just a girl," I reminded myself. "You can handle this."
"Honey, are you okay?" Aunt N asked me from the end of the hall.
"Uh, yeah, I'm fine," I reassured, shaking my head.
Great, now I'm talking to myself.
As I laid back in bed, I thought to myself.
I'm Saradonyx fucking Reyes, I can do anything.
So, without thinking twice about it, I got up from my bed and walked to Zara's room. I slowly opened the doors and peeked inside.
"Hey, have you seen my guitar?" I improvised, briefly looking at her and focusing my attention on Storm.
They were sitting on two bean bags in front of a huge TV while eating popcorn and drinking Coke. Both of them turned their heads towards me, Storm in curiosity and Zara in annoyance.
"No, now fuck off, we're watching a movie," she told me and gestured me with a flick of the hand to leave them alone.
Now, if Storm wasn't there, but any other girl, I would leave without thinking twice. Not because Zara told me so, but because I have no interest in her lame company. So, I stepped inside her room and closed the door behind me, snuggling between the two of them.
"What are we watching?" I looked at the TV and grabbed a handful of popcorn.
I could feel Zara's furious eyes on me as Storm quietly chuckled, covering her mouth with a hand. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" Zara snarled at me, grabbing the popcorn bowl from my hands.
I looked at her with confusion, acting offended, and hurt. "I'm just watching a movie with you guys and-"
"Out," she interrupted me, pointing her finger at the door. I crossed my arms and shook my hand, refusing to leave. "I'm not playing around, dumbface."
"I think you need to chill," I told her and grabbed an unopened can of Coke from the floor. "I'm just hanging."
"One," she started counting through clenched teeth, breathing heavily. "Two," she continued, but I stood up and walked out before she could come to three.
That bitch just killed my vibe.
