Malia pushes herself up before heading over to Lacey, briefly glancing at Mrs Martin when she groans before getting up. "Are you okay?" Malia asks and the blonde nods, still staring at Tracy. "Lace, look at me. Are you okay?" Malia asks and Lacey turns to look at Malia as Mrs Martin heads past them and back upstairs. "Have you seen them before?" Malia asks.
"I don't know." Lacey responds. "They killed her. Why did they kill her? What the hell does 'her condition is terminal' mean?" Lacey asks.
"I don't know. But I'm a little more interested in why they said your condition was promising." Malia responds. "Lacey, I need you to focus. Have you ever seen them before?" Malia asks.
"Only in those nightmares I've been having and the little-"
"Not-memory-memories?" Malia asks and Lacey nods before they hear footsteps heading towards them.
They both look up to see Scott standing there and he looks between them both and Tracy. "It wasn't us." Malia says.
"What the hell happened to her?" Scott asks and Stiles heads over to the two of them.
"Are you two okay?" He asks and Lacey glances around briefly before shrugging slightly.
"Malia, Lacey, what happened to her?" Scott asks.
"There were these people. They had masks. Um, there- there- there were three of them. I think there were three." Malia says, glancing at Lacey and the blonde nods.
"What- What are you talking about?" Stiles asks.
"Th-They were strong, Stiles." Malia says.
"They just appeared. Out of nowhere. There was this weird noise and then they were just there." Lacey says.
"They had a weapon. Stiles, we didn't do this." Malia says, slightly desperately.
"Okay. Okay." Stiles says gently.
"They came out of nowhere and they just killed her." Lacey says.
"She's not changing back." Deaton says and Lacey glances over at them before she sees Noah standing next to Stiles and she glances over her shoulder briefly where she'd dropped her gun on the floor. "We're going to need to get her out of here." Deaton says.
"Hey, absolutely not." Noah says, stepping over to them and Lacey moves to pick up her gun, tucking it into her jeans before pulling her coat over it. "This is a crime scene. We call the coroner." He says as she heads back over to Malia.
"I think the coroner might be very confused by this girl's severed reptilian tail." Deaton retorts.
"I don't care." Noah responds sharply.
"You should. Unless you're prepared to hold a press conference announcing the presence of supernatural creatures in Beacon Hills." Deaton says.
"Dad, he's right." Stiles says.
"Maybe at the clinic, we can figure out how to change her back, then call the coroner?" Scott suggests.
"There's a line- There's a line that we have to draw." Noah says.
"Dad, you've already crossed it. More than once." Stiles says.
"Sheriff, please. Let me help." Deaton says. "I've dealt with things like this before."
"Just do it fast." Noah instructs before Deaton and Scott pick her up, carrying her out of the basement.

Stiles watches them before looking back over at Lacey and Malia. "What's doing on?" He asks quietly as his Dad walks past them.
"They were the same people Lacey's been seeing in her dreams." Malia says.
"And the memory flashes I don't remember." Lacey says.
"Guys, there wasn't anybody here." Stiles says quietly.
"They, were real, Stiles. They were real and they were strong." Malia says.
"Strong enough to hold Malia with one hand." Lacey adds and he sighs before nodding slightly.
"Come on." He says before directing them back upstairs after his Dad.
Lacey grabs her bag when they get upstairs, putting her gun back inside it when nobody's looking. She moves to follow Stiles and Malia until she sees Theo. The blonde hesitates for a split second before putting her bag down and walking over to him. "Lacey, hey-"
"What the hell did you do to me?" She asks, pushing him into the wall behind him.
"Whoa- What?" Theo asks.
"Don't play dumb. You heard me. What did you do to me?" Lacey snaps.
"Whoa, Lace, come on." Stiles says and she shrugs his arm off.
"You were there. I remember. You were there. What the fuck is happening to me? What did you do to me?" Lacey snaps.
"Nothing. I haven't done anything to you. I swear." Theo says.
"Bullshit." Lacey says.
"Lace, come on. Not now." Stiles says, pulling her away from him and the blonde stares at Theo before relenting and letting Stiles tug her out of the room. "What the hell was that about?" He asks as Malia hands her bag back to her.
"I know why I woke up covered in dirt." Lacey says.
"Theo threw dirt at you?" Stiles asks.
"I crawled out of of a hole in the ground and he was standing there waiting for me." Lacey responds and Malia and Stiles stop to look at her. "Like I said. He did something. He knows something at the very least. And now I definitely don't fucking trust him." Lacey says.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Lacey sits in the hospital waiting area beside Malia, her legs crossed as she picks at her nail polish. Malia rests a hand on the girl's knee whenever she glances up at Theo and Lacey just looks back down at her hands. "Stiles," Lacey glances up briefly at Melissa's voice before looking back down at her hands.
"How bad is it?" Stiles asks.
"Could have been worse." Melissa responds. "Theo, nice going on that tourniquet. You probably saved her life." Melissa says and Lacey digs her nails into the palms of her hand briefly before picking at her nail polish again. "Alright. She's about to go into surgery, so it's going to be a while. Any other supernatural details that I need to know about or do we just stitch her up and hope for the best?" She asks.
"It was the tail." Kira says.
"Yeah, Tracy cut her with the tail, if that makes a difference." Scott chimes in.
"Okay." Melissa says before walking off.
"But it wasn't just Tracy. There were others. The guys in the masks." Malia insists and Lacey looks up at everyone briefly.
"They were real." Lacey says when nobody speaks and she just looks back down at her hands again when they glance at each other.
"Hey." Liam says and she looks up at her brother with a small smile.
"Hey." She says.
"I was with Brett and Mason in the woods-"
"And everyone's still alive?" She asks and he smiles slightly.
"Yes." He responds and she nods. "But we were looking for that hole I fell in and we found another one." Liam explains and she nods. "I found this." He says, holding his hand out.
"My necklace?" She asks, taking it off him.
"Yeah. I don't know when you dropped it but I thought you'd want it back. Considering it's your good luck charm." Liam says.
"I didn't even know I'd lost it. Doesn't seem to be working much lately." She says before reaching up to fasten it.
"Hey, are you okay?" Liam asks and she nods.
"Yeah. I'm good." She says and he grabs her hand, gently squeezing.
"Uh, Lace, are you going home or do you want to come back to mine with me and Malia?" Stiles asks.
"Uh, I'm gonna take Liam home and grab some clothes and then I'll meet you there?" She asks and he nods.
"Yeah okay." Stiles responds before heading down the hall.
"Come on. Let's get you home before Mom starts worrying." She says to her brother before getting up and steering him down the hall with an arm around his shoulders.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Lacey drums her thumb against the steering wheel as she drives and Liam glances over at her. "So, uh, what's going on with you, Stiles and Malia?" He asks and she glances at him briefly with a frown.
"What are you talking about?" Lacey asks.
"I mean, you hang out with them a lot. And you stay at theirs with both of them and they've both stayed at ours at the same time. I mean, are you just a really awkward but constant third wheel?" Liam asks and she hesitates.
"We're just friends, Li." Lacey says.
"Are you sure? Because it doesn't look that way." He says.
"What does it look like?" She asks.
"I don't know. I guess it kinda looks like- Well, like you're all together." Liam says and she frowns a little.
"I don't know, Li. I mean, we're not." Lacey says. "Hey, but what I want to know is if the girl I saw you talking to earlier was Hayden." She says.
"Nice segue." Liam says and she shrugs. "And yes. And apparently she still hates my guts." He says.
"I mean, you did break her nose." Lacey says.
"Shut up." Liam says and she smiles slightly as she pulls up outside their house.
Lacey unlocks the front door before the two of them walk into the house as quietly as possible. "Where the hell have you two been?" They both pause as they reach the stairs before turning around to face their mother who just raises a brow at them. "Well?"
"With friends?" Lacey responds.
"Why the hell do we pay your phone bill if you can't even use them to let us know you're out late with friends?" Cathy asks.
"We're sorry?" Liam says.
"Go to bed." She says and he nods before heading upstairs.
"Night, Li!" Lacey calls.
"Night, Lace." He responds before his bedroom door swings shut.
"What do you want?" Cathy asks when Lacey doesn't move.
"Uh, is it okay if I stay at Stiles' again?" She asks.
"Again? Lace, you've stayed there every night since last Thursday. And it's Wednesday." Cathy says.
"Actually, I didn't stay there on Monday." Lacey says.
"And aren't Stiles and Malia dating?" She asks.
"They asked me to stay. And I only stayed there last night because nobody was home." Lacey says and Cathy sighs.
"Sweetheart is there something going on that you're not telling me?" Cathy asks.
"No. I mean, you wanted me to make friends, Mom. And I have." Lacey says.
"Your Dad said your appointment was weird the other day." She says.
"I'm fine." Lacey says.
"That's apparently the problem." She says and Lacey sighs. "Lacey, what's going on?" Cathy asks.
"Nothing, Mom. Seriously. I just want to spend time with my friends. If Liam had stayed with Mason every night for a week, you wouldn't be doing this." Lacey says.
"Liam isn't hiding important stuff from me." She responds.
"Liam's a teenage boy. I'm sure he's hiding plenty. Like the stash of Playboys under his nightstand." Lacey retorts.
"And if I thought you were hiding porn under your nightstand, I wouldn't be so worried." Cathy says before frowning. "Okay, I might be a little concerned." She corrects and Lacey shakes her head slightly. "Wait, Liam has Playboys under his nightstand?" She asks.
"Yeah. He used to steal them from our neighbours mailbox." Lacey shrugs.
"Mr Benson?" Cathy asks and Lacey nods.
"Yeah, the creepy, definitely pervy recluse." Lacey says.
"I told him Liam wasn't stealing those." Cathy says.
"Well, what he doesn't know won't hurt him." Lacey shrugs.
"Jesus- Whatever, Liam's slightly kleptomaniac tendencies can wait." Cathy says.
"Mom, there's nothing going on. I just like spending time with Stiles and Malia. It's not a crime." Lacey says.
"Okay. Go on." Cathy says and Lacey hesitates before moving to hug her.
"I promise I'm okay." Lacey whispers and Cathy hugs her back for a moment before letting her go.
"Okay, go get your things." She says and Lacey kisses her cheek before heading upstairs.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
The blonde walks up the porch to the front door, raising a brow at the sticky note stuck to it. 'If you're Lacey, it's open. If you're not, fuck off.' "Oh, yeah. That'll stop 'em." She mutters before grabbing it and opening the front door.
"Lace?" Stiles calls down the stairs.
"Super threatening sticky note, Stiles." She calls back as she heads towards the stairs after locking the front door.
She glances at the board as she walks into the room, putting her bag down. "Hey, what took you so long?" Stiles asks.
"Uh, my Mom decided she wanted to play twenty questions with me." Lacey responds. "On another note, Liam might not be talking to me tomorrow because I accidentally told my Mom about his Playboy stash." Lacey says.
"Low blow, Lace." Stiles says.
"Well, it was that or tell her I think I was buried alive. So, I think I went for the safer option." She says, looking at the board and Stiles inclines his head slightly. "Where's the Desert Wolf question gone?" She asks.
"I rubbed it off." Malia says.
"Oh, that's big. Are you sure?" Lacey asks and Malia nods as the blonde sits down on the bed with her.
"So, what happened?" Stiles asks and both of them look over at him. "With Tracy. Come on, what happened? I know everyone else was brushing it aside but something obviously happened down there or you wouldn't both have been so freaked out." He says.
"There was three of them. They were really strong. They had this weapon. They killed Tracy." Malia says.
"It looked kind of like some weird needle thing. They injected her with something. They had Malia pinned, one was holding me back as the other one killed Tracy." Lacey says.
"What did they look like?" Stiles asks and the girls share a look before frowning slightly.
"Well, you know plague doctors?" Lacey starts.
"They looked like plague doctors? With the big bird masks?" Stiles asks, slightly incredulously.
"No. No, less bird masks but still that kind of era vibe. But like plague doctors: steampunk edition." Lacey says, gesturing with her hand and Stiles frowns, clearly a little sceptical.
"We know it sounds crazy but they were real, Stiles." Malia says.
"I believe you. Okay? I believe both of you." Stiles says.
"They killed Tracy and said her condition was terminal." Lacey says.
"Her condition was terminal? What's that supposed to mean?" Stiles asks.
"Well, I kind of hoping you and your weirdly, vast sea of knowledge would answer that." Lacey responds.
"You also know a lot of weird shit. Why would you assume I know this?" Stiles asks.
"You know creepier shit than me. I never wrote a paper on the history of the male circumcision." Lacey retorts.
"Okay, fair play." Stiles responds and she hums.
"Okay, but more interesting was the fact that they looked at Lacey after and said her condition was promising. I think that's a little more worrying." Malia says pointedly and Stiles looks at the blonde incredulously.
"Why didn't you open with that instead of rambling about steampunk plague doctors?" Stiles asks.
"Well, my logic was, if I don't mention it again, it didn't actually happen. Because I'm a little freaked out and I'd rather not think about it." Lacey responds.
"Lacey, that's not how anything works." Stiles responds.
"Fun fact, did you know that something with more than one set of DNA is considered a chimera. I technically am a chimera because I have someone else's heart." Lacey says.
"That's actually kind of cool." Malia says.
"No, it's irrelevant is what it is." Stiles responds.
"Well, actually, considering Tracy was both werewolf and kanima, I think it's entirely relevant." Lacey says.
"That's not what we're talking about, though. We're talking about the steampunk plague doctors saying your condition was promising. Does this mean you're going to end up like Tracy?" Stiles asks.
"I hope not. I don't want a tail." Lacey says with a frown.
"Is she going to grow a tail?" Malia asks.
"Well, Tracy did! She's the only data point so far." Stiles responds, gesturing, well, more like flailing.
"Stiles, I don't want to grow a tail. That's disgusting. And frankly a little creepy. I am not growing a tail." Lacey says.
"I don't think sheer force of will is going to affect anything here, Lace." Stiles responds.
"I think it should." Malia says.
"See, she agrees with me. Why can't you?" Lacey asks. "Look, I already can't get a date. If I grow a tail, someone may as well be pushing my potential for a love life off a goddamn building." The blonde says.
"I think if you grow a tail, then your love life will be the least of your concerns." Stiles responds.
"It'll be a concern. My biggest concern will be how I'd hide that from my mother. She'd kill me or that would kill her. I'm honestly not sure which would happen first." Lacey says.
"Oh, that would be your biggest concern. Your mother. Not the tail growing out of your back. No, your mother." Stiles says.
"I mean, we've met her Mom, Stiles. I definitely understand that." Malia responds.
"Right, my Mom can be scary, Stiles. She's already concerned enough after my appointment the other day. Anything else happens, I see grounding in my future. Potentially imprisonment. Definitely imprisonment." Lacey says, nodding a little as she scrunches her nose up.
"Do you think that whatever they did to Tracy, they did to you?" Stiles asks.
"I've seen them. In nightmares or the not-memory memories. So, maybe. But I haven't done anything Tracy has. Okay? I haven't been tripping balls or murdering parents or growing extra extremities." Lacey says. "But I think that whatever happened, whatever Tracy was, whatever I maybe am. I think Theo's the same thing."
"Oh, god. Not the Theo thing again." Malia mutters.
"He's very suspicious, Malia. And I mean, she does remember him being there when she crawled out of her own grave." Stiles says.
"Yeah and we know that happened because Liam found my necklace in the woods. Like they found Tracy's. He told me in the car on the way home." Lacey says.
"I get that he's doing something weird. But Theo's a werewolf. He doesn't have a tail. He has yellow eyes and claws." Malia says.
"Doesn't rule it out. I don't have a tail." Lacey says.
"Yet." Stiles says and both girls look over at him dryly. "I mean, you probably won't. But also, maybe just not yet." Stiles says.
"You make it really hard to like you sometimes." Lacey says and he frowns a little, glancing at Malia who just shrugs briefly.
"I mean, we're trying to make her feel better. Telling her she might grow a tail isn't helpful." Malia says.
"I-I'm just being honest." Stiles says.
"Keep it to yourself." Lacey responds and he nod.
"I can do that." He says and she hums.
"I believe that when I see it." The blonde remarks and he shrugs. "Look, can we just not talk to anyone about this?" She asks.
"What you want us to lie to everyone?" Stiles asks and she nods.
"I mean, they didn't even want to believe us about the doctor people killing Tracy. I don't think we should tell them about their interest in Lacey too." Malia says and Lacey nods.
"Okay. Yeah, okay. I mean, Scott's both weirdly trusting and not very trusting when it comes to friends." Stiles says.
"Exactly, so telling him, 'Hey, Lacey might grow a tail like Tracy'. Probably isn't the best idea." The blonde suggests and Stiles nods.
"That's a good point. Though, I wouldn't have phrased it like that." Stiles says and she hums.
"Oh, well, then it's totally okay then." Lacey responds dryly and he shrugs.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Lacey follows Malia and Stiles through the library and up to where Scott and Kira were waiting for them. "Did you get in to see Lydia?" Scott asks.
"No. Lacey and I tried using our free period, but she's still in the ICU, and no one outside family is allowed in." Stiles responds.
"Parrish is in there." She remarks.
"Parrish is a cop. She was attacked in the Sheriff's Station. Parrish is there as a deputy. Not the same." Stiles says.
"He's still there." Lacey says and he shakes his head a little.
"We got one thing." Malia says, interrupting the two of them as she puts Lacey's copy of the Bestiary on the table.
"Lacey, did you ever consider you might be slightly neurotic?" Kira asks, looking at the book and the blonde frowns a little, looking at the book.
"No." She says, flicking through the book briefly. "I'm just thorough. There's nothing in here that wasn't in the copy Lydia gave me." Lacey says.
"There's a couple things." Stiles says.
"Nothing big." Lacey defends.
"Okay, I'm sorry I asked. Is there anything in here about half-werewolves, half-Kanimas?" Kira asks.
"The Chimera." Scott says.
"Um, what?" Stiles asks.
"Chimera. It's a creature made of incongruous parts. And if Liam said he found two burial sites. It means Tracy's not the only one." Scott says.
"Three." Lacey says and everyone looks at her.
"What?" Scott asks.
"Liam found three burial sites. He told me there was three." Lacey says.
"Oh, guess I misheard him." Scott shrugs. "But if there's more than one burial site, Tracy's not the only Chimera." Scott explains.
"Who's the other Chimeras?" Kira asks and Lacey briefly shares a subtle look with Malia.
"And why would they bury them?" Stiles adds.
"Deaton thinks it's part of their process." Scott explains.
"The people in masks." Malia clarifies and Lacey nods.
"Right. It has to be." The blonde agrees.

Later that night, Lacey is sitting with Stiles and Malia in the library still reading through the countless other books for information. She glances at Stiles briefly to see him fast asleep on her copy of the Bestiary before turning her attention back to the book in front of her, her head propped up on her hand. "This is pointless. There's nothing in here about supernatural hybrids or Chimeras or whatever the hell we're calling them." Lacey says, glancing at Malia who was repetitively clicking a pen. "Mal? You with me?" Lacey asks and the werecoyote looks over at her.
"What?" Malia asks.
"Are you okay?" Lacey asks.
"Yeah, I just- I don't know." Malia responds.
"Let me guess. You're thinking about Tracy? Trying to figure out what the hell they did to her." Lacey says and Malia nods.
"You too?" Malia asks and Lacey nods.
"But also kind of because whatever she was, I am too. And I really would like to avoid growing a tail. Because that was weird. Really weird." Lacey responds.
"You're not going to grow a tail." Malia says.
"You don't know that." The blonde retorts. "But if I do grow a tail, promise me you'll cut it off." Lacey says and Malia smiles slightly.
"I promise. But I'll probably just get Kira to do it. She has a sword. It'd be easier." Malia responds.
"I appreciate that." Lacey responds, glancing back at Stiles briefly. "Here's an idea. We leave Stiles here and we can go to Tracy's house. Take a look around her room. See if there's anything helpful."
"Should we just leave him here?" Malia asks.
"Well, he looks happy enough. But we should probably try to wake him up before we go." Lacey says and Malia nods before the two of them get up, grabbing their things as Lacey carefully slides her Bestiary from under Stiles' head, closing it and putting it in her bag.
"Hey, we're taking off." Lacey says, gently poking Stiles' shoulder but he just mutters something unintelligible.
"Stiles, wake up and go home. We'll meet you there in a bit." Malia says before nodding for Lacey to follow her and the blonde nudges Stiles again before following her.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Lacey sits on the edge of the desk in Tracy's room as Malia sits on the bed, glancing around the room. "Should we be in here?" Malia asks.
"Definitely not. But I won't tell if you won't." Lacey responds as Malia gets up, looking at the pictures on the wall.
The blonde looks over the things on Tracy's desk curiously, glancing at Malia as she walks over to her. "You haven't been drawing scary looking birds, have you?" Malia asks.
"I think you'd know if I had. But no. No scary looking birds. Just weird nightmares and hallucinations." Lacey responds as Malia looks at the bedside table, picking up a book before hesitating slightly. "You okay?" She asks.
"Do these look familiar to you?" Malia asks, holding the book up and Lacey heads over to her when she sees the cover of the book.
"It's them." She says and Malia nods. "The Dread Doctors. Well, you know what? That's slightly terrifying." Lacey remarks.
"Can we take this?" Malia asks.
"I mean, the cops might notice but hopefully they'll just think someone stole it. Or, well, that someone else stole it." Lacey responds, taking it off her and putting it in her bag. "Look, I need to get home. Are you still going to Stiles'?" Lacey asks as they leave the house, heading down to her car.
"I don't know. Why do you have to go home?" Malia asks.
"Because my Mom is like one incident away from having a meltdown. So, I'd rather be safe than sorry." Lacey responds. "Do you want to take the book, try looking it over?" She asks.
"Yeah, uh, I'll go home with it. Can you drop me off?" Malia asks and Lacey nods.
"Yeah, sure. Come on." Lacey responds, moving to climb into the car.
Lacey pulls up outside Malia's, grabbing her bag as the other girl climbs out of the car, leaning over to hand her the book through the window. "I'll see you tomorrow." Lacey says and Malia nods.
"Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow." Malia responds.
"Okay. And text Stiles. I'm not totally sure he actually heard us leave earlier." Lacey says and Malia nods before heading up to the house.
.·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·. .·:*¨༺ ༻¨*:·.
Lacey winces slightly as she tries to quietly shut the front door behind her when it clicks loudly as it closes. "Don't tell me you're actually sleeping at home tonight." Lacey sighs when she hears her mother's voice before turning around.
"Yes, Mom. I'm sleeping at home." Lacey says.
"Stiles and Malia kick you out?" She asks and Lacey rolls her eyes.
"No. Just figured I'd come home to sleep. I'd like to sleep. Is that okay with you?" Lacey asks and Cathy hums in amusement.
"Go ahead." She responds and Lacey nods before heading past her up the stairs. "I did have one question, though." She says and Lacey turns around on the stairs. "I asked Liam about his Playboy magazines and he mentioned something about you firing a gun." She says and Lacey pauses. "Who let you fire a gun?" She asks.
"Uh, Sheriff Stilinski was worried about my safety. I haven't actually fired a gun. He offered to teach me." Lacey explains.
"You said no, I assume." She says.
"I haven't said yes." Lacey responds.
"Go to bed. Not until you're eighteen." She says and Lacey nods, saluting her briefly before heading up the stairs.
Lacey puts her bag down on her desk before sitting down to wipe off her makeup, pausing slightly when she sees her reflection and the slightly silvery glow of her eyes. She frowns a little before blinking, relaxing slightly when it disappears, shaking her head a little before going back to wiping off her makeup.
