4. Don't you Dare!
Pragya POV
Before his lips could touch mine, I pushed at his chest, trying to move away from him, but instead he placed an arm around my waist and reeled me back in before I could escape.
"What the hell do you want from me?!" I yelled, pushing him away again with all the force I could muster.
"I don't want anything from you...." He replied, once again coming closer, pulling me against him. "I want you!"
"That's not possible!" I replied.
"Why not?" He asked.
"B-because I, belong to... someone else..." I said softly, my voice almost a whisper.
"You are back to that nonsense again?" He said, lifting a hand to brush a wayward lock of hair behind my ear. "Like I told you before, Pragya, I will never let that happen." He replied, his soft tone matching mine.
The first time he said it, I was in so much shock, it didn't register properly, but this time his response angered me to my core. How dare he!
"You didn't want me when you had me, and now that I'm finally moving on, you come rushing back into my life, trying to claim me in the worst possible way?!" I shouted in fury.
"How can I try to claim something that already belongs to me?" He returned.
"I was never yours." I told him. "I was merely a time-pass till you moved on to bigger and better things!"
The look on his face was one of surprise. He was probably shocked that I knew of his cheating ways. My heart broke remembering that day...the day I saw his true colors. Now here he was, trying to force his way back into my life. It was all water under the bridge now, yet someone I couldn't stop.
"You said you wanted no contact between us because seeing me...or hearing my voice would weaken you and distract you from your goals...and like the naive idiot I was, I believed you." I said to him. "All you had to say was that you didn't want me anymore. That you had grown tired of boring, stupid Pragya. I would have given you what you wanted in a heartbeat."
"What I've always wanted was you...and only you." He said, raising a hand to my cheek.
"You left me here alone, not caring how I was, or what I was doing and now you have the audacity to tell me I'm the only one you wanted? Are you even listening to yourself?" I asked, removing his hand from my cheek. "The only reason you want me now is because you just can't stand seeing me with someone else....not because you love me."
"Don't you dare!" He shouted and I jumped in surprise. "Don't you ever dare question the way I feel about you."
"How can your feelings for me be in question when there aren't any?" I told him, lifting a finger to poke at his chest. "For that to happen, I have to atleast think there's some shred of love in you for me...which there clearly isn't."
"You're playing with fire, Pragya." He said sternly, grasping my hand in his.
"I don't care!" I said, pulling my hand away from his. "What more can you possibly do to me! You already kidnapped me on my wedding day, took me away from my family, from my friends...from the man I..."
"The man you what?!" He cut across my words in anger.
I remained silent. Didn't think it was wise to complete that sentence.
"The man you what, Pragya?" He asked again, and still I remained silent.
"The man you love?" He completed when I gave no reply. "Is that what you were going to say?"
My feelings and present relationships were no concern of his.
"Do you love him?" he asked and I looked away.
He lost the right to ask anything of me the day he refused to answer my calls. He was a liar and a cheat!
"Look at me, Pragya." he commanded, but I refused to obey.
"Look at me." he said again. Still, I wouldn't budge.
"I said look at me!" he roared, placing my chin between his fingers and turning my face to look directly into his eyes.
"I asked you a question." As he looked at me, waiting for an answer so I looked back at him, searching for some shred of the man I had fallen in love with long ago.
Yeah right, Pragya, that guy disappeared the day he decided to ---
"Never mind." I heard him say, his voice snapping me out of my thoughts. "I got my answer."
The next thing I knew, he let go of me and walked out the door.

Unknown POV 1
She loves him... I thought for the hundredth time sitting at the desk of my spacious home office, downing yet another drink, trying to process this newfound revelation with every shot I took.
It was the unmistakable look in her eyes that told me all I need to know. I felt defeated. My love had lost. All the time I spent fighting to get back to her were a complete waste of time. Granted, I made mistakes, but none of them were even worth an iota of the pain I was currently feeling.
"I was never yours." Her words replayed in my head.
How could she even think something like that, much less utter it.
She was mine! My Pragya...my love. The only one I considered my own after my family refused to have anything to do with me. Her memories were the only thing that kept me alive, patiently awaiting the day our love would be complete. But once again destiny screwed me over! It gave me fame and fortune, but took away the reason for it all.
How could she do this to me?!

Unknown POV 2
After coming off the phone, I had an idea who might have taken her, the question was...where?
If he so much as harmed a hair on her head, I would kill him without even thinking twice!

Unknown POV 1
I opened the door to my room and saw her laying on the bed, staring off into space. Probably thinking about him...
I walked in, drifting slightly due to all the alcohol I'd consumed and her gaze immediately turned to me and she scrambled to sit up on the bed.
"You're drunk!" She said the second she looked at me.
"Very observant, Sweetheart..." I told her, sitting next to her on the bed. "What other choice do I have? That's the only one thing I can count on never to leave me."
"You were the one who left...not me."
"You were the one who gave up on us by deciding to marry another man."
"Stop saying all these thing when you know they are not true!" she shouted at me. "You couldn't wait to get away from me fast enough so you could have your freedom!"
She made a move to get off the bed, but I instantly pulled her to me.
"Who's trying to get away now?" I asked with a sneer.
"Let me go!" she said pushing at my shoulder, but my arm around her tightened even further.
"I like this wilder, more confident version of you." I said with a smirk. "Makes me feel like less of a jerk for doing this." and then my lips claimed hers.
She struggled to get away from me and my lips, but I placed a hand at the back of her neck holding her still so she couldn't move, internally willing her to respond. Finally she stopped struggling and I felt her respond for a tiny second, before she began to struggle once again. I removed my lips from hers and buried my face in the crook of her neck, kissing there and she immediately pushed me off.
"Who the hell do you think you are!" she shouted and I immediately let her go. She got off the bed and walked over to the sliding doors, trying to get it open after I locked it after her earlier escape. "If you don't respect me, atleast respect the fact that I'm about to get married to someone else!"
There she started again, reminding me once again that she was in love with someone else, when only two seconds ago, I'd tasted heaven in her arms and wanted desperately to feel more of that. It had been so long since I'd had that feeling, and now, here she was taking it all away from me again. I moved to where she was standing, putting my hands over hers on the doors, putting my arm around her waist, and she turned to face me, looking up at me silently, trying to gage the expressions on my face.
I needed to be with her, feel her close to me, if only for this night. Tomorrow she would belong to someone else, but tonight she was mine.
I lifted her up in my arms and for the first time since I brought her here, she didn't protest. It was like in some strange way, she had sensed my emotions and could understand exactly what I was feeling. I carried her over to the bed and laid her down gently. I looked down at her wanting badly to kiss her again, but stopped myself in time. She might be mine tonight, but tomorrow would be a different story. That kiss could lead anywhere especially if she remained in this obedient mood. So I did the only thing I could then. I gathered her up in my arms and hugged her tightly and closing my eyes I went to sleep in her arms.

Pragya's POV
When I opened my eyes the next morning, he was nowhere to be found.
Last night, I had no idea what came over me. There was some unwritten emotion in his intoxicated eyes, that somehow made me feel like he needed me, even if it was for that one time only and I was too weak to fight against that emotion...that instinct. I lifted myself up on the bed, wondering where he was. I turned to the pillow beside me and saw a note. Picking it up, I read its contents...
I've arranged for someone to drop you home after you've had breakfast.
I'm letting you go... back to your family, your friends...and to the one you love.
I'm sorry...for everything. I know that doesn't make up for what I've done but I will bear any punishment you decide I should have, because what I did to you was unforgivable.
I hope he gives you the world of happiness that I couldn't.
Till we meet again...if ever, have a happy married life.
I closed the letter, feeling my eyes well up with tears.
I was free to go...
I made my way out to the waiting car, that would take me home to the people I love. I took one last glance back at the beautifully huge house before I told the driver to take me home.
**********
It had been five days since I returned home, telling my family members that it was a case of mistaken identity and they let me go after realizing I wasn't the girl they were looking for. My family members all brought that story and I sighed in relief.
The wedding preparations were underway again with the ceremony taking place in just an hour.
I was already dressed and waiting for my groom.
I saw a message on my pop up on my phone. Speaking of the groom...
Hey Gorgeous,
You all set to welcome your groom?
Dadi is here eyeing me suspiciously on my phone. Let's hope she doesn't know it's you I'm talking to, else she'll throw my phone out the window for sure!
I'm fine with breaking the rules once it doesn't involve Dadi ringing my ear off!
I can't believe this is finally happening! I know I've told you this a million times already but you really scared me, Pragya. I didn't know if I would ever see you again.
But don't worry, your hero intends to make up for all that by making you the happiest woman on earth.
See you soon, Mrs. Mehra!
Love you!
I smiled at his message...This idiot!
One hour later, I left the mandap vowing to love, support and cherish the man standing in front of me, officially becoming Mrs. Pragya Mehra...
