The starting gate was starting to get narrow, and soon enough everyone was pushing and shoving one another. It then came to mind that it must have been the very first obstacle.

You were started to get pushed towards the wall as hundreds of students tried to make their way out of the narrow hall. As you were getting closer to the exit, a sudden trail of ice was made. The people who were out of the hall were either slipping or got stuck.

'Ice? Heh. I see that Todoroki is gonna give it his all no matter what... meaning I have to try harder. Especially if I want to become a hero!'

Luckily, you managed to avoid getting froze to the ground by taking a running start to jump over & onto the ice, before using your quirk to slide your way across it with ease.

Of course, there were others who also managed to avoid the ice. Those people were most of Class 1-A, such as Katsuki, Momo, Kirishima, Aoyama, Tokoyami, Mina, Izuku, Ojiro, and even Mineta!

You looked behind you for a quick second to see what was happening and saw that the indigo haired boy from yesterday, was being carried over the ice by some other students .

'Weird...' You thought. You brushed it off and put your focus back into the race.

Just as you found yourself catching up to Todoroki, a giant robot from the hero entrance exam suddenly appeared out of nowhere! Then, another appeared! Soon, there was robots everywhere. While everyone was panicking to make their way around them, you were thinking strategically of how to use your quirk against them. After all, your quirk does involve water, and the robots must have some type of electrical system. 'Robots again huh?'

"Well, I fought the robots in the entrance exam and got at least more than 30 points... I'm sure I can beat these ones too despite their size." You mumbled to yourself, analyzing the robots.

As you were about to make your move, Todoroki sent a giant wave of ice towards the robots, instantly freezing them. One of the students exclaimed that because he froze them, they could easily get through. But what they didn't seem to notice is that he froze them at a unstable position. Knowing they would fall before someone got past them, you slowed down your pace and looked for a way to get around it.

Todoroki was now ahead and was taking the lead while everyone else was still trying to find a way out of there. Suddenly, another student pointed out that one of the robots Todoroki froze had fallen on top of someone.

"Holy shit. People actually die in this festival?!!!"

Or so you thought. Suddenly, Kirishima burst up and through the piece of metal with his quirk activated. And so did the loud guy from Class 1-B, who had a strangely similar quirk as Kirishima.

'Thank da lord.. For a second I thought someone actually died...'

"You copycat!!" Cried Kirishima before he started making his way ahead.

Quickly, you began to gather some water from the air and melted ice before swiftly surfing around the giant robots with a wave. When you got around the robots, the commotion from the other side caught your attention. Before you had a chance to look, Katsuki, Sero, and Tokoyami were seen soaring over your head in midair.

"Out of my way!!!!" Shouted Katsuki before landing ahead of you.

'Oh c'mon!'

You continued running until you reached the next obstacle, which Present Mic introduced as "The Fall". You took a peek down into the pit and saw nothing but darkness. You didn't know how deep the pit was, nor what was at the bottom of it. You gulped down looking down into the dark abyss.

The first student to approach the obstacle was Asui. Thanks to her frog-like abilities, she passed the obstacle with ease. The next was some pink haired girl with support items. You began to feel intimidated as others began to move forward.

'Ok (y/n), you can do this! Just don't look down and focus on moving forward!' You internally motivated.

You went to one of the ropes and started to make your way across it until you got to one of the ledges. You continued this until you got to the end. Thankfully, you weren't exhausted yet!

'I'm holding out longer than usual... is this growth?'

The next obstacle to cross was a minefield!

'A minefield, huh... This puts those that are ahead at a disadvantage... That being said, I better watch my step.'

You looked ahead and saw that Todoroki was already in the middle of the minefield. No surprise there. But before you could even begin to take one step ahead, Katsuki went zooming past you in mid-air, accidentally setting his explosions off near your head, leaving you temporarily deaf & blind.

"Ah! I can't hear! I can't see! I can't- oh wait, never mind, it stopped."

"CAN'T SLOW ME DOWN!!" He yelled while passing by Todoroki. Katsuki was now in the lead while almost everyone was just getting to the centre of the minefield, including you, although you were a bit ahead of a few people.

You didn't care about trying to get first place anymore seeing as Todoroki and Katsuki were literally fighting for that spot, instead you focused on getting a place that was higher than tenth, at the very least.

As you were carefully making your way through the minefield, a huge explosion suddenly erupted from the far back. Everyone looked in the direction of the explosion and couldn't believe what they were seeing! It was Izuku! He was flying in the air towards the end of the field at an amazing speed.

Izuku was about to hit the ground in front of Todoroki and Katsuki, but slammed a big hunk of metal that he was carrying with him, directly onto a landmine and sent himself flying forwards once more. Within seconds, Izuku crossed the finished line and was declared the first place winner.

Everyone else made their way to the finish one by one, and waited for to see the results. Midnight turned on the giant screen behind her and showed the places. You started going down the list trying to find your name, only to see that you barely made it in the top 10. 'Eleventh?!'

"Not the result I was hoping for.. Oh well, better than nothing I guess." You shrugged.

(I had to take a quick look in the manga to see who placed what and was originally going to make y/n place ninth but saw that Kirishima did and ended up changing it bc to me, Kiri deserves to place higher than 10th.)

"The top 42 from this qualifying round will move on!! But for those who placed lower, don't worry! We've got another way for you to show your stuff!" Midnight explained.

"Now, onto the second event!! I already know what it is, of course.. dying in suspense? Next up is..." she began, dragging the suspense.

"THIS!!!" She whipped, present the words "Cavalry Battle"

'Ah crap... the one event I'm not very fond of considering I would either sit or be sat on by someone...' You internally complained.

Some of the students (mostly class 1-A students) started speaking which cut off Midnight. She got annoyed and started to explain everything. After she was done, she said that the person who placed first in the obstacle course race would be worth 10,000,000 points!

"R.i.p Izuku..."

Everyone had a determined look on their faces as they stared down at Izuku. The tension in the atmosphere was intense, so intense that it even made you feel nervous for him.

"Now... who's team should I be on???"

"I wonder if she'd want to be on my team.."
