"Taylor, it's already six fourty seven! Let's go!"
I rolled my eyes at my best friend as I stuffed my headphones into my backpack. "Yeah, yeah. I'll be there in a sec!" I called from the back.
"Hurry!"
"Hang on!"
Gina chucked as she flipped through her magazine. "You two fight like an old married couple." I had to agree with her there. "Now you better get outta here before she blows a gasket," she quipped.
I grinned. "Yeah, she might explode if I make her wait any longer.
"Six fourty eight!"
"Coming! Jeez." I walked out of the back room and into the front of the store to see a very annoyed looking Becca.
"I thought you said you get off at six thirty," she said, playing with the hem of her pink sundress.
"I do."
"Then why did you make me wait eighteen -- no, nineteen minutes?"
"Because it's fun to mess with ya', you control freak," I laughed as she stuck her tongue out at me. "C'mon, let's go."

Tonight was girls night. Ew.
Every other Thursday, Becca forces me to watch gushy chick flicks and paint each others nails. Not exactly what I would call a good time. But it's not all terrible. In return, on the other Thursdays, Becca and I watch horror movies or go to 'garage concerts' to check out the local sound. I guess our system is a win-win in the spirit of compromise.
I met Becca Summers when I was four years old. We went to the same elementary school and it just so happened that we both wanted the yellow Play-Doh. After arguing for about five minutes of who reached for it first, we decided to share like the mature pre-k'ers we were. And the rest is history.
"Before we start the movie, I need your opinion on something," Becca announced. She had a small pile of clothing in her arms before she dumped it onto the couch next to me. "I need you to help me pick out an outfit for a concert next weekend."
"You're going to a concert? Who's?!" It was rare that Becca went to concerts without me, but I assumed it was another Top 40 band. No thanks.
"5 Seconds of Summer!" she squealed. Like I said, no thanks. "And my Aunt Faith got backstage passes! I get to meet them!" She started jumping up and down and spinning like the super-fan she was and I shook my head. Finally, she calmed down and got back to the point. "Okay, so..."
After half an hour, we decided on her outfit. A black and white crop-top with the 5SoS tally-marks, a black skater skirt and some killer wedges. Even I had to admit the outfit was cute.
After popping the popcorn we claimed our seats. Next came the dreaded question.
"So, 'A Walk to Remember' or 'The Vow'?" Ugh.
