Chapter 7

The werewolf folkore found in Europe harks back to a common development during the Middle Ages, arising in the context of Christianisation, and the associated interpretation of pre-Christian mythology in Christian terms. Their underlying common origin can be traced back to Proto-Indo-European mythology, where lycanthropy is reconstructed as an aspect of the initiation of the warrior class. This is reflected in Iron Age Europe in the Tierkrieger depictions from the Germanic sphere, among others. The standard comparative overview of this aspect of Indo-European mythology is McCone (1987) Such transformations of "men into wolves" in pagan cult was associated with the devil from the early medieval perspective.

The concept of the werewolf in Western and Northern Europe is strongly influenced by the role of the wolf in Germanic paganism (e.g. the French loup-garou is ultimately a loan from the Germanic term), but there are related traditions in other parts of Europe which were not necessarily influenced by Germanic tradition, especially in Slavic Europe and the Balkans, and possibly in areas bordering the Indo-European sphere (the Caucasus) or where Indo-European cultures have been replaced by military conquest in the medieval era (Hungary, Anatolia). Any how, things are different for each legend that goes for different religions.

Now on to the Vampires there are a few different ones that I am personally aware of. One are called the Cold Ones, cold to the touch, pale in color and red or golden eyes. Their eyes go pitch black when hungry and unfed, red if they drink human blood and golden if they drink animal blood. They sparkle in the sun instead of burning in the sun like another type of vampire does. in order to be turned you must be bitten by them and the venom spreads through you. Causing an excruciating pain to run throughout your entire body until your heart stops. The Cold Ones have special abilities that other vampires might not have. Some can read minds, see the future, control and feel emotions, and many other things along with those. They don't sleep either and are strongest when first turned.

The second type look human, feel human, but don't have a heartbeat like all vampires. These vampires burn in the sun, but if wearing a daylight ring then they are safe. This said daylight ring must be created by a witch or wizard in order to work. This type of vampire can eat human food, do normal human things, but are faster, stronger, and have heightened senses. They can sleep unlike the Cold Ones do, they can eat human food but prefer blood instead. Some have harder times controlling the blood lust which you call these ones Rippers. Rippers have an dark side that takes over when they feed on human blood because they are unable to stop. When they kill said human they feel remorse after and try and fix them, but the victim is dead.

These vampires don't have abilities like the Cold Ones do, although like all vampires they still have heightened senses. In order to become this type of vampire you must have vampire blood in your system and then die. When you wake you must drink blood to complete the transition into your new vampire form. If a witch is turned she might lose her ability to do magic as well.
