They were a shifter I could tell by their looks and their scent. I froze and stepped into Jenny upon instinct of course.

"You must be Adelina my names Sam billy was telling me all about you" Sam said

I looked at Jenny and shook my head not wanting to be near Sam or his pack. Let alone I had to already live with Jacob who was a shifter.

"Addy" billy said softly

"It's okay" Jenny whispered

"Hi" i said not daring to move from my spot

"Your afraid of me" Sam said

"Bad experience with shifters" i said flatly

"You know then" Sam said

"I'm a witch of course I know" I said

"I do hope we can be acquainted and not worry about fears on one another some day soon" he said

"Just give her time Sam" Jenny said

Soon as the moments passed Jenny was off and so was Sam. Me and billy got to know one another and had some dinner. Lucky for me I was glad he was open to letting me stay home and be homeschooled. If I'm person I'd be considered a sophomore in high school of course. Soon to be a junior due to the fact this school year is just about over. After dinner and our small talk I headed off to bed and so did billy.

A few days later

I had yet to meet Jacob because Sam was keeping him from the house according to billy. For my safety and for my nerves which I was more than thankful for. I mean don't get me wrong I wanted nothing more than to meet my cousin. It's just he's a shifter and I've been hurt by them before. But today was the day I was going to meet Jacob. Because soon after eating breakfast he walked through the front door. My head perked up and I looked him up and down yep definitely a shifter.

"Adelina this is Jacob, Jacob this is your cousin Adelina" billy said

"Nice to finally meet you addy" Jake said instantly calming me down

I oddly felt calm and safe around him unlike under Sam's intimidating gaze. He could be intimidating and it was harder for me especially with Sam being a shifter. Although I thought hard on it maybe if Jake was this calming what would the pack be like.

"I think I'm ready to meet them" i said turning to billy

"That's great we can have a bonfire tonight then" billy said

"Your sure cause Sam was adamant on me staying away for a while longer to make you comfortable with us" Jake said

"Don't worry as long as I stick by you and billy I'll be fine" i said

"I have that effect on people" Jacob smirked

I laughed and nudged him slightly and he hugged me softly. I think I'm really going to like it here thanks to the welcoming people here.
