She walked into the room with a sadness in her eyes. She's been here before and she's done this a million times before. So why was it so hard this time around for her. She thought she could do this, she thought things would be different but they aren't. They are the same as every other time she was taken in. Adelina Miriam Hale was finally fifteen and this was her eighth home in the foster system. Adelina used to be a bright young girl with so much light inside her. Until she turned five years old and she watched her parents die in front of her eyes. It was pure torture watching them die and not being able to save them.

For a five year old not being able to be with you parents was hard. Going from having a happy and loving family to having no one was harder then anything. No one could imagine what the young girl was going through. One thing she did know that was always going to stay the same. She knew she was special and that things weren't as they seemed in the world. Not everyone was normal and mundane as they seemed to be. Some had hidden talents and not just ordinary ones either. Some could control the elements, some could read minds and so on. She herself knew she was different she grew up on different.

She grew up in a world where things weren't normal or ordinary at all. She grew up surrounded by rituals and magic. Books and books of things that weren't normal to 'humans' as most of her kind said. She grew up without love in her life after the light vanished from her eyes. Her mother and father were mates closer then ever. They grew up together and met when they were young but it wasn't forever when they died. Poor addy having to watch her parents get slaughtered in front of her by vampires. She watched as they drained them of their blood viciously and ruthlessly.

They didn't come for addy because they had a rule about killing children. As much as one of them wanted to harm the girl. Their clan leader was against it in every way possible. So they three vampires left the girl crying and alone. Until the police showed up that day when the neighbors recognized the screams of the young girl and her family. She was plagued with nightmares after that day. Never getting the best of sleep after what she witnessed and endured. She was different and every time her foster family found out. They sent her back and called her a bunch of names.

Called her a freak but she was used to it by now. This home wouldn't be any different then the rest. Except it would be and she had yet to find that out. Now in another town she had been taken into yet another families home. She wasn't sure how it would go but she had a good feeling about how it would end
