I walked downstairs with Skyler walking behind me.

     "Good morning," Her dad said.

     "Good morning, sir," I said.

     "Good morning, Dad," She said sitting down on the couch. I sat down next to her and she smiled up at me. I put my arm around her and she kissed me. We sat talking when Zach came downstairs. He smiled at us and said good morning to us. He sat next to me and sighed. He pulled his phone out and texted me.

     "I wouldn't confront Sky if you haven't already." It read. I nodded. I sighed and we all began to talk.

     "I'm going to the bathroom. I'll be right back," Skyler said standing up. She walked to the bathroom and once she closed the door I looked at Zach.

     "Why not?" I asked.

     "She is really sensitive and it's probably best she thinks you don't know. She thinks the final relationship where she thought everything was better went for the worse because she exposed how fragile she was. She blames herself for it," He said shaking his head.

     "She's safe as long as she's with me," I promised. He nodded and Skyler walked in.

     "Baby, I don't feel good," Skyler said.

     "Alright, here go upstairs," I said. She looked at me and I sighed. I got up and walked upstairs with her. I sat down and set my phone on the bedside table. She lied down on the bed and got under the blanket.

     "Can I leave you here?" I asked and kissed him on the forehead. She nodded. 

     "I hope you feel better," I said kissing her.

     "Thanks," She smiled. I walked downstairs. I was sitting on the couch when I realized I didn't have my phone. I walked upstairs and saw Skyler scrolling through something on my phone looking shocked.

     "Babe?" I asked walking over to her. I knew she read my messages with Zachary. She looked up at me with tears in her eyes.

     "Miro, why can't you keep your nose in your own business," She said.

     "Sky, I-" She cut me off.

     "This is none of your business!" She said sitting up. I looked at her with a gentle look in my eyes.

     "Babe," I said quietly. She tossed my phone over to me and rolled over.

     "I'm sorry," I said sitting down next to her.

     "Go away!" She said pulling the blanket over her head.

     "Let's talk, Babe," I said pulling the blanket down. She yanked it back up. 

     "I love you," I said rubbing her back. She just sat in silence.

     "Baby," I said hugging her.

     "Miro, leave me alone," She said.

     "Sky, I-" I said but she cut me off.

     "-Leave me alone!" She yelled. I sighed and walked downstairs. I sat down with Zach and he looked at me confused.

     "What's wrong?" He asked.

     "She was going through my phone and found our messages. She's probably going to be mad at you," I said.

     "You probably should've deleted those messages. Does she normally look through your phone?" He asked.

     "Occasionally, I don't know why I didn't delete them," I said.

     "Did you get her a nice present?" Zach asked.

     "Well," I sighed and pulled a small box out of my pocket. I opened it to reveal an engagement ring.

     "I don't know if she'll like it now that she's mad at me..," I sighed.

     "You were going to propose?!" He asked.

     "Hush!" I said. 

     "Sorry, you were going to propose?" He asked quieter.

     "Yes, but now I don't think she'll except," I said.

     "Probably not. You need to get something else," He said. 

     "Yeah," I said.

     "We need to go shopping today," He said.

     "Ok," I said.

     "We open presents tonight since it's Christmas Eve," He said.

     "Alright, let's do this," I said.

     "Ok," He said.

     "I need to grab my wallet and change," I said slowly.

     "Ok, if she asks where you're going tell her we're going for some guy time," Zach said.

     "Alright, I'll be quick," I said running upstairs. I opened the door and looked at Skyler lying down quietly. I walked to my suitcase and grabbed a change of clothes. I got dressed as Skyler lied there. I thought maybe she was taking a nap until I grabbed my wallet.

     "Where are you going?" She asked me quietly.

     "Going out to spend some guy time with Zach," I said walking over to kiss her on the cheek. She tried to hide her small smile.

     "Ok," She said quietly.

     "I love you," I said. She didn't respond. I kissed her again.

     "Ok, goodbye," She said. I sighed and walked out of the room. I walked downstairs and met Zach.

     "Let's go to the mall," He said. I nodded and we drove to the mall.
