I'm back
PAMA.
The crazed super-computer with a mind of its own, was back...
"PAMA?" Asked Axel, trying to remember the stories about the computer.
"That's right..." Mumbled Miranda, her bubbly tone gone. "He's... My- boss... And he trusts me, but I want to help you guys."
"How would you help us?" I spat, despising the perfect girl.
Miranda glared at me.
"I promise that I'm here to help."
"Yeah, Jesse!" Sang Axel. "We should listen to her! She's so... Pretty."
Miranda giggled.
Ugh. How could Axel be crushing on a sparkly freak like that?
"O-okay." Said Miranda, trying to regain her serious tone- but failing. "Since you all are dead, I need your help to destroy PAMA, by implanting this-" she held up a computer chip. "Into his monitor. His redstone heart was removed, but if you implant it in his monitor, it should-"
"Hold up." I objected, Miranda glared at me. "You said that we were dead... Then who pulled out the redstone heart?"
Miranda's stare intensified, feeling like she was scanning my thoughts.
"Never mind..." I say, not knowing why I was saying this. "Miranda's right. We should put our ultimate trust in her... Okay guys?"
Where had that come from?
I didn't mean to say that...
Even Lukas was getting caught up in Miranda.
I elbowed him in the ribs, causing him to jump back into reality.
"Huh? Oh... Sorry, Jesse..."
I couldn't believe this jerk.
I couldn't believe how all the boys were getting feelings for a sparkly faker like her.
"Now that we all agree on things..." Sang Miranda, pulling out a blue flint and steel. "Let's get PAMA destroyed."
----------------Time Skip-----------------
Back in the hallway of portals, we were looking for the redstone one that signified PAMA'S world.
I thought this was all really strange...
I mean, I haven't seen my friends act this way before.
Well... Maybe Axel.
But Lukas and Ivor wouldn't be drooling over Miranda.
What was causing them to act this way?
Suddenly, Miranda stopped.
"Okay, guys..." She said, all of us crowded around the redstone portal. "The people in here are under new brainwashing terms. They might look and act normal, but I assure you- they're under PAMA'S control."
"How do we know you're not telling us lies?" Growled Lukas, his anger coming out of nowhere.
Miranda looked at him, and he got this... Vacant look. Like he was staring into nothingness.
Something was wrong.
I realized that my friends looked dazed, like...
Like the townspeople from PAMA'S town.
"I agree with Lukas, I think that we should look more into this, and-"
I paused, but I wanted to say more.
Why couldn't I talk anymore?
"We're going through this portal... Okay, Jesse?" Asked Miranda, gritting her teeth.
All on their own, my feet walked to the portal, and I went through.
-----------------Time skip-----------------
The scenery was all too familiar.
Mesa biome, with the same sandy road- leading to town Mesa.
"Here we are!" Sang Miranda. "Follow me!"
What?
Why was I following her?
Wait.
What if... What if I was brainwashed?
What if I had been made useful?
This was impossible.
I must be dreaming.
My feet were kicking up spouse of dust from the sand, and I could see town Mesa up ahead.
People were buzzing around, and the town looked normal.
Like it did when we left it, so long ago.
It sure did take less time to get here now than before.
"Whatever you do..." Whispered Miranda. "Don't talk to anybody. Okay?"
"O-okay..." I say, following her.
Fortunately, nobody bothered us as we walked through the town.
We reached PAMA'S old computer monitor, currently being torn apart by townspeople.
The golden portal was in the middle of the square, just sitting there.
"I do wish they'd tear that down." Huffed Miranda, pointing to the portal. "I don't know, but PAMA could escape."
Why would PAMA still have that up?
This didn't make any sense, and my head felt cloudy- I couldn't think clearly.
We walked inside of PAMA'S core, where I ripped out the redstone heart.
It was completely empty.
This felt wrong.
Miranda stopped, turning to face us.
My friends were dropped out of their daze, and I could think straight.
"Oww..." Groaned Ivor, rubbing his head.
"Oh... I'm sorry.." Growled Miranda. "Did that... Hurt you?"
She turned to face us, her perfect face parted in a huge grin.
"Uhh...." Lukas paused, walking backwards. "I- I think we're going to leave now.."
"No!" Yelled Miranda, her voice echoing through the empty chamber.
She smiled again, and it was terrifying.
"You need to help the citizens!"
She walked over to us, her sweet self back.
"Why don't you place the chip on the monitor-" she held it out. "And help everyone?"
My head felt cloudy again.
This was bad.
Something was wrong.
I took the chip, walking over to the monitor.
I placed the chip on it, and immediately- the monitor lit up.
It turned scarlet, revealing the red face of PAMA.
But PAMA didn't speak.
Miranda turned to us, her grin back, and her eyes bright red.
"Hello... Friends." Purred Miranda, looking at us.
Lukas's face turned white as a sheet, and I was frozen in place.
As were the others.
"How stupid you all are..." Miranda sneered.
"You served your purpose. You believed me- even though I wasn't to be trusted."
Miranda's body flashed, looking like a malfunctioning computer screen.
It returned, her golden dress, and flats an emerald green. Her hair was the same color, and her eyes were a blood red.
"Now, thanks to you-" Said Miranda, with the voice of PAMA. "I will be able to make everybody...useful."
