Chapter Four  

are you sure?

3rd person pov 

they all went back to the apartment that sam , tara and quinn share after everything. tara and dakota went to taras room as everyone else stayed together. 

tara took her costume off and she took a breath of her inhaler as they was a knock on the door and they both turned to see quinn standing there 

"hey, I'm sorry I told sam where you went" quin stated 

"its fine, just shes all the way up my ass like usual" tara said and she sat down next to dakota as quinn watched the two girls hands connect and she smiled 

"I know what its like when they hold on to tight, after I lost my brother, my dad wouldn't leave me alone. he even transferred to the NYPD when I got into college so stalker much" quinn said and then she looked at the two girls again 

"I'm gonna go, let you guys talk" she said and she walked out leaving them alone as she closed the door. 

"so how are you actually feeling?" dakota asked tara and tara looked at kota with sad eyes. 

"I don't know, I thought that trying something with frankie would make me feel something and it just didn't, it actually made me feel worse. ya know like I was..." she led off as she looked at kotas lips 

"like you were what?" kota asked softly 

"like I was cheating on you" tara let out and she felt herself lean in closer and closer to the girl. kota felt herself leaning in too. there was a pull between them that no one would or could stop. it had been a long time coming and if someone tried, they would be damned. 

"are you sure?" dakota asked tara as they got closer and closer. they were as close as they could get without their lips touching. dakota could feel taras breath on her lips and she feel her lashes fluttering against her cheeks. 

"I've never been more sure of anything in my whole life" tara told dakota and their lips finally connected with each other. there was a pull between them and the air around them was tensing up. But not in a bad way in a way that showed that this was supposed to happen. Dakota had thought about this moment for so long that she never thought it would actually happen. 

When she thought about her and Tara, she knew that they would only ever be friends. She thought that Tara didn't feel that way about girls, especially when she saw how Tara was with Wes or Chad. But now she thought about it differently. Tara didn't  act that way with them because she liked them, she act that way, because they were her only friends, and she didn't know what to do. 

A part of Dakota wondered if this would've happened if she had stayed in Woodsboro but she knew it wouldn't. she held her hand and their lips touched. Everything felt right. She knew that this was the right thing that this was supposed to happen. 

tara Was it for her.  She had always been it for her, and this was showing Dakota that she was right. taras hand rested on dakotas hip as dakota held taras neck and they kissed each other more. their lips held connect as dakota felt taras tongue slowly lick her bottom lip and she opened her mouth slightly. she let out a deep heavy sigh that showed she had been waiting for this moment. 

the air was swirling and the lights in her room felt like they were being dimmed. the red lights outside shown into the room and they danced around the two girls. they could hear the music that people were playing outside and it made them feel comfortable. it was like a warm blanket had been put over them and they liked it. 

that was until they were interrupted when quinn opened the door and gasped. the two girls let go of each other and turned to quinn. dakota wiped her mouth and tara did the same thing, quinn smiled at them 

"I fucking knew it" she said and she grabbed her phone as she waved at them and she walked out of the room leaving the two of them. the two girls looked at each other 

"soooo" dakota said and tara smiled 

"what does this mean?" tara asked her 

"I want you to be my girlfriend t, but I don't want to force that on you and I don't want you to think that I'm forcing this on you. if you need more time or space, I understand that but I want to be with you and I want you to be comfortable with me" dakota stated 

"I want to be your girlfriend too" tara exclaimed and dakota smiled 

"so this is happening?" dakota asked 

"yes, I'm your girlfriend kota" tara said and dakota smiled as she leaned in and kissed her now girlfriend. they changed and they were all brought into the living room together. 

dakota sat next to tara and she held her girlfriends hand, the others noticed and Mindy nudged anika as they saw the two girls hands and they smiled at the sight. ethan stared too and chad smiled. 

when sam walked in, her neighbor danny followed after them and they all sat down and watched the news. 

"that's the chode that's from our film studies class, the one obsessed with argento" mindy exclaimed and then they heard ghostface 

"pack a bag, we leave in ten" sam said to tara and 

"thank you, very much suspicious new guy but I think we got it from here. have a good night, get home safe" chad told him and he pushed him out of the apartment before they listened to sam and tara 

"chad, mindy, kota, back me up" sam said and dakota turned to tara 

"I mean It is a little bit close to home" chad and Mindy said one of the other 

"quinn, your dads a cop right? can you call him and find out whats going on before you make the unilateral decision to abandon my college education and flee the fucking state!" tara told sam 

"I'm calling him now" quinn said 

"thank you" tara spoke and then sams phone rang. they looked at her phone 

"who is it?" tara asked sam but sam ignored the call 

"why did everyone just freak out when her phone rang?" ethan asked 

"you got to keep up, my dude" anika told ethan and quinn handed the phone to sam 

"mr.bailey, hi" sam said 

"my sister thinks im probably overreacting" sam said 

"unfornately youre not" Mr bailey told them 

"what do you mean?" sam asked 

"Im afraid i need you to come down to the station" mr.bailey said and tara went to leave after sam 

"t" dakota called 

"yeah kota?" 

"be safe" she told her and tara nodded as she kissed her forehead and left the apartment 

now dakota just had to worry about her girlfriend
