Chapter three 

you look good

3rd person pov 

dakota went back to her dorm later that day and she changed into her Halloween costume, she was poison ivy for Halloween and she knew she looked hot so she stared at herself in the mirror before she heard her phone and she picked it up to see that tara was calling her. 

"hey t, whats up?" she asked the girl as she wrapped the fake vines around her arms and sighed. 

"do you want me to come pick you up so we can go to the party together?" tara asked and dakota smiled. she knew that it wasn't a date  but a part of her felt like it was and she liked that part more 

"yeah actually ill send you my address" she said and tara smiled 

"cool ill be there soon" tara said and she ended the call as dakota smiled at her phone and she finished getting ready. she made sure to grab her tazer that she had brought just to be safe, she knew how people could be. 

she then heard a knock on her door and she opened it to see tara standing there in her parate costume. they smiled at each other and dakota locked her apartment door. 

"you ready?" tara asked and dakota nodded as she turned off the lights of the dorm and she left with tara. they held each others hands as they walked to the party together. 

"did I say you look good? because you look good" tara said and dakota smiled at her as her thumb brushed the back of the girls hand and she laughed. 

"thanks t, you look good too." she stated and tara laughed before she bumped her shoulder with a guy and he turned to her. dakotas hand tightened around taras as she saw the way he looked at her 

"tara hey!" he said 

"jason, are you and greg gonna come to the okb party?" she asked and he shook his head 

"well if he finishes his Spanish project in time yes, is your sister coming? " he asked her and dakota stared at him 

"no sam wouldn't be caught dead at a frat party" tara retorted 

"oh my god could you imagine?" dakota said and tara laughed as she leaned her head on the girls shoulder 

"there's a first time for everything" he exclaimed 

"not tonight though" she said as they began to walk away 

"can't convince her?" he called 

"no that's not my problem, that's yours" 

"save me a drink" 

"alright ill see you" she said and they turned 

"sometimes I wish men would just the hint and not be so weird about it. its weird and annoying" dakota told tara and tara nodded as they walked into the party. they saw chad and ethan in the corner together as anika and Mindy sat on the couch together. 

dakota waved at mindy and anika who waved and smiled at the sight of her and tara. dakota walked with tara to get some drinks. they got a few beers and dakota watched her 

"you watching her?" mindy asked as she passed and dakota nodded 

"like a hawk" dakota said as she handed the beer bottle to mindy, she didn't want to get drunk and she knew that. she watched tara get two more and she began to get tilty

"hey t, maybe you should take a break" dakota suggested but tara shook her head and went to the keg only for nothing to come out. there was a guy standing next to it and he stared at the two girls 

"you're lying" tara said after he put a cup on it and dakota wrapped her arm around the girls shoulder. 

"last ones kicked, we've got some hard stuff in the kitchen though. frankie" he said and he reached his hand out to tara as she shook it 

"tara" she said and she looked up at dakota 

"dakota" she spoke as she glared at him and at tara. 

"I don't think you should drink more t, maybe take a break" she exclaimed 

"I think she knows whats good for her" he said and she snapped her head to him 

"and i think you don't" dakota retorted as she sized him up. 

"dakota i can handle it. lead the way" she told frankie and they walked into the kitchen together as dakota followed and watched the guy with a close eye. 

"ya know what, i got a bottle of fireball up in my room" he told her and dakota stepped forward. 

"yeah no, that's not happening" she said and she led tara away from the guy but he followed them and she made eye contact with anika and Mindy telling them to get chad and anika nodded as she got up from the chair and went to find chad. 

"t" dakota said and she kept her hand on her arm as frankie stared at them. he saw the way dakota looked at her and he took the opportunity. 

"arent you the girl that got involved in that stab shit last year?" he asked tara and he wrapped his arm around her as he began to lead her up the stairs and there was chad 

"hey partner" chad said to him 

"taras good down here but I'm sure dakota already told you that" he said and he looked at dakota who nodded in thanks to him 

"sorry bro i didn't catch that" he retorted 

"yeah you did" chad stated 

"no chad, its fine. i want to" tara said and frankie walked down 

"yeah see chad,  she wants to" he said and he grabbed her arm as he yanked her and chad moved so dakota could grab him 

"you fuckface" she said and she swung on him knocking him to the ground as they all watched. then there was sam 

"thanks for putting him on the ground dakota" sam said and she tazed him in the dick as they all left the house. dakota walked with the others as they watched tara and sam from afar 

"kota your hand okay?" anika asked her and she nodded as she turned and looked down. her hand was red and chad sighed. 

"you should get that wrapped" he told her and she nodded before she looked at sam and tara again. the two sisters were still fighting and it was clear that it was changing something. 

then out of nowhere, a group of girls came up and threw their drinks at sam. dakota scoffed and she wanted to punch the girls but she didn't. 

"what the fuck is wrong with you?" dakota yelled 

"the fuck is wrong with you bitch? you gotta a problem with me?" sam yelled 

"you guys should stay away from her, she knows what she did" she fought 

"i didn't fucking do anything" sam yelled and they all walked away leaving ethan and sam to be together. 

but it was now clear that dakota would do anything for tara and that meant anything.
