Victor's POV

She has not eaten her dinner showing her protest against me. But she forgot that I gave her ultimatum of one night and that was over two nights ago. I felt bad that whatever marred her beautiful features I could not protect her. I would have attacked those pathetic humans if she would have been in her senses. Because I wanted her to feel the pain so she would beg me to make her mine.

But when I came to the prison I found her unconscious and even though I called her name again and again she didn't respond. I moved near her but again I felt a jolt of energy pushed me far. My guards brought me a chair and I sat on it staring at her unconscious figure.

Three days and two nights have passed but she didn't even stir from her position. I had my maids attend to her. I could see the scars were fading now. Soon she will be awake and I will have my mating ceremony with her.

I ordered the maids to get her ready even though she was unconscious. I knew she would throw a tantrum but I wanted her to know who is in charge. She may deny my love but I was determined to make her mine. I am not going to sit and watch her be someone else's mate.

I am lonely because of her. She chose a pathetic human to love. I was the one since the day she took her first breath. I was the one who fought the werewolves when they were attacking fairyland in the absence of the King. I was the one  to make her happy she would be sad . I was the one who knew all her secrets. I was the one who understood her yet she chose someone else.

How could I let her go to a mere human when she was light of my life. I recall how mean I was committing atrocities to who were weak and mindlessly killing anyone who crossed my path. Just one look in her Innocent eyes and I melted. Her smile stopped the world for me. Her sweet voice even though she questioned my authority made me change myself into doing good things. I changed for her, I started caring and became responsible. I always followed her to protect her.

We were getting close each day. She spent her childhood with me. I was waiting for her to become of age so I could make her mine. But she fell for that pathetic soul who could not even save himself.  The day she confessed her love for him enraged me so much that I grabbed her and tried to kiss her to prove my love so she would realize that human was just an infatuation, to show her I can make her feel special and there is connection between us. That was the first time I felt rage and evil taking me over after I had changed to a good person.  She slapped me but that was not that hurt me but the words she uttered after that. She said I betrayed her trust and that she hates me and she wants nothing to do with me.

Like breaking my heart was not enough, she even confessed her feelings for another man, she said she hates me. What did I do, I confessed my love and I tried to show my love. She rejected me when I only showed her my feelings. She ran from the garden where we used to meet at our favorite spot ignoring my calls. After that everything changed she avoided me like plague she won't talk to me hell, she even averted meeting my gaze. I became obsolete for her. She would steal from the palace and meet that man and she would talk endlessly to him and laugh. Though I loved her laugh it didn't lessen the pain I was burning each time she was near him, in his arms  and happy with him. 

I tried my best to control my emotions but when I was offered in a scheme to remove him from the face of the earth I readily agreed . I helped them so the human could be wiped of his existence but alas ... that princess was so stubborn that when she saw he was not alive she spread her essence for him and chose to reborn again till she is united with him.

I just watched, watched her leaving fairyland, leaving me for a pathetic human. I felt my heart bleeding with unbearable pain but she looked at me smiling without humor in her eyes. Her eyes showed me the hatred she had for me and before she was completely wiped out she uttered the most hated words "I curse you Victor you would walk this earth in search of your mate and you would never find her even when she would be closer and nor would she realize you are her mate". 

When I heard that she was cursing me I nodded my head but when she mentioned my mate, I was confused  to which she continued in answer " I don't want her to suffer because of you. The day I unite with my soul mate will be the day you will meet yours. Because even though you betrayed me you were the only friend I had, and I will ever have. After this Victor I will not blind trust ANYONE my friend".

All I could do was just watch, watch her fading into the space. I.....I.. fell down on the ground near here ashes, but nothing I had lost her and lost her forever......

Flashback Ends ************************************************************************************* 

I was deep in my thoughts when my sister Seraphine entered the room.

"Victor you are not doing it right again" She said in agitated tone.

"Well that is no way to greet one's brother Princess Seraphine. I think I taught you better than this" I replied smiling.

"When my brother is committing the mistake over and over I won't care about formalities" She replied.

"What are you implying Sera" I asked

"You cannot force her to marry you. You know your mating ceremony would not be complete since she will be compelled. You know you have hurt her in her past life and again you are hellbent on making this one a hell too" she yelled.

"Watch your tone Sera.. I know she was your best friend. But what I do to her in this life is no concern of you" I stated in stern tone.

"It is my concern Victor You know we were thrown out of our own Kingdom because of what you did. We struggled for centuries to get to the state where we are. If you think I would let you ruin everything for your ego then You are wrong" she shouted.

"It's not my ego Sera.. I love her... I need her... You.... You know how it feels to be incomplete..... I have been lonely for so long... that I can't let her go even though I wan to.... You know she is my mate. You .. You..know how I live my life each day.. wishing I could be with her wishing she would be there to reflect love for me... I can't let her slip from my fingers this time again... I want her next to me .. because each time I turn to my left and the space is empty and you know what it hurts... it hurts so much that I want to feel like killing myself" I stated hurt by her accusation.

"The woman you are forcing to marry you IS NOT YOUR MATE. Come to your senses Victor. The WOMAN that died that day The WOMAN that cursed you was your mate. If you remember the curse fully. You are cursed to be mate less till she is united with her true love. You are supposed to help her get back with her lover and not to put a stop to it. Yes I agree you were the front runner in the list of her eligible mates. But you ruined it yourself. Had you let her decide who to choose... May be it she would have chosen you and you would have had her next to you unlike now..." She finished with anger in her voice and glistening eyes.

"I know I ruined it, I know I made her suffer.. but I am not going to let her go this time again. I will make her mine.. if I had to be mate less then so be it. I would make sure she suffers like me but while I suffer she would be a part of my suffering, be here to witness it" I yelled in anger.

"I will not let your stubbornness ruin whatever we have. I am sorry but you would have to leave my Kingdom" She said.

"What??" I asked her thinking I heard it wrong.

"I said leave my kingdom I don't want all the supernaturals attacking my Kingdom and killing the people who are not part of your plans" She said "We are not accountable for your actions. So please change your decision, leave her back to her palace and help her find her mate so she is happy and you can gain back your mate. Who might be her in case".

"You want me to leave my own Kingdom Sera???" I asked her not believing.

"Yes Victor.. because you promised me that you will protect me you will protect our Clan and if you want to go ahead with your madness go ahead then I take it the MAN WHO BETRAYED HIS LOVE THEN WON'T HE BETRAY THOSE MEAN NOTHING TO HIM". She said those hurting words and left me when she saw I would not budge.

I was hurt by her words but the most was she thought I don't want to protect her or my clan for I knew I would be doing a favor to us if I mate with her. She would make me the most powerful creature in the world. So what she won't be mine so what.... she won't love me... My love would be enough for both of us...

I clapped my hands and soon guards and maids came running.

"Start the mating ceremony preparations and invite all the people. Today's celebration will be one of it's kind. We will become better and stronger with this alliance and if anyone is trying to cause any issues just kill them without discussions" I said.

I was happy that now I will have my bride in my arms in my life.......
