Astra's POV

I was drained of my energy and I felt so tired. With each moment my body was going on fire as well the agonizing state of it was reaching its peak with high intensity. My body was shaking and shivering and hurting everywhere.

So many doctors have visited me but none could find a solution to my state. While doctor was checking me to find the cause I heard whispers in wind

"I am coming for you princess you are to be mine soon"

First I thought I am just imagining it but when it kept ringing in my ears. A chill ran down my spine and the only thing that came out of my mouth was " Alex..... where are you ?? Alex...... help me??? I cried

ALEX POV

I dashed to her chambers when I heard the princess maid that princess is whimpering in great pain and is calling for me for help.

She was thrashing on her bed when I entered her chambers.

There were tears on cheeks and as I made my way towards her she opened her eyes and looked at me.

"Alex you came.. Alex please stop the pain... Alex you promised to keep me safe" She said

" I am here princess, I will do anything to keep you safe. Believe me princess I will do anything for you"

She lifted her hand towards me and I took it and held it between my two hands. As soon as I did that she stopped thrashing, soon her body relaxed and her eyes started drooping and she went into a slumber. All this while I could feel the stares at me and princess.

I wanted to relieve her of the pain but holding a hand of royal princess was considered disrespect. I laid her hand on her bed but as soon as I did again her body started jerking. I again held her hand and soon she relaxed.

After her breathing went normal I removed my hand but to my surprise again her body started jerking and thrashing against the mattress. Seeing this I looked over the doctor for explanation. But seeing his face expression I could see he had none.

Soon Maids arranged a seat for me next to princess's bed and I held her hand and she looked relaxed and peaceful. It was eating my brain to think how she was sufferring and also i cannot stay in her chambers like this because this will not be good for her reputation.

I called the doctor and asked him if he found any medicine for her state and he said it seems like something which is beyond his power. I called the maids and asked them to immediately send for all the doctors in the kingdom to be summoned in the palace for princess.

While I was busy giving orders I saw Oracle walking in with a smile.

" Stop you all no need to get the doctors, we have a solution and I would like to discuss it with Alex" she commanded.

I was furious when she commanded the maids to not to do anything but got curious as well as she said she has solution for Princess 's condition. I awaited the for the words to be rolled out of her mouth when we were alone.

"So what is the solution??" I asked her

" Well Alex don't you remember our conversation of last night? or do you? " she asked smiling.

" Of course I do but what has that got to do with her condition?" I asked her confused.

"Well it has got everything to do with her current condition" She replied.

Seeing my confused expression she said " Well Alex she turned 19 and this is the time for her powers to raise and since she is unaware of what she holds, she needs a guidance, a person who can help her balance her powers and since she has not find her soul mate yet we need a person who can calm her down. I came down her wondering who that person will be. But when I saw you holding her hand and her sleeping peacefully I got my answer" She finished with a smile.

" Are you telling me I am the person who will help her balance her powers" I asked not believing.

" See for yourself Alex she was thrashing in her bed but a little contact with your hand and she back to normal" she replied

"But how long I have to hold her so that she stays peaceful, because I cannot do it for long you know it would not be good for her reputation and I don't want her name go bad" I mumbled the last words

"Not for long just leave your hair in her hands and and she will be peaceful for the night" She told

I did as told and I was relieve to see that princess was peaceful even though I let go of her hands.

I looked at Oracle questioningly when she said " Ask it already Alex"

" How is that my hair made her as peaceful as my hands?" I asked

"Alex since you have the power to balance her powers so does every cell in your body. You were chosen as her guard for a reason and I see that clearly now why?" she said

All this was not making sense to me but as long as princess was peaceful and not in pain I was happy. Suddenly the Oracle's hair started flying in air. Her face started glowing and her eyes turned white. I realized that she is having a vision.

"Alex she will be fine by morning but I want you to guard her tonight. Stay out of her chamber doors and be alert. Tonight is crucial for her" I tensed when she said that

I asked her " Is her life in danger? Is there somebody who is trying to harm her??"

When I got no answer I got anxious and touched her.

Her eyes whites turned purple and she said

"Never touch me when I am like this. I cannot tell you what the danger is but you have to be careful"

She gave her a look and said " She..... she will have to undergo a big sacrifice... she will suffer " and then she turned to me " You will have to help her and if you didn't she will perish..."

Then she came back to her senses and looked as if nothing happened

"Did I say something to you Alex" she asked me

" Yes, you told me to guard princess her life is in danger" I told her

"Oh my... I guess my mother came to warn us. It was her who told you that. My mother always comes to warn me whenever there is any danger to royals" she told

"What needs to be done Oracle?? I can't see her in danger.... Please tell me a way out. What is the danger lurking on her life. I will finish off the danger before it makes its presence next to my princess"

"Alex just follow the instructions and be alert... don't leave her alone... I wish I could stay with her but I cannot I have to re-do my protection spells to keep this palace safe now so that no dark force makes its way into the palace" Oracle said

I was so worried about the princess and confused about the situation. I have to deal with an unknown danger and if I fail it would put princess life in danger. With these thoughts I stood by her chamber doors before instructing Lady Maria to accompany Princess and be on her guard and anything suspicious to call for me.

I was guarding outside when I heard a big noise from outside the palace.  I ran in the direction of noise to see if it is warning of the danger lurking on princess's life. But when I saw outside there was nothing but darkness. I shouted to the guards to patrol and let me know the cause of it.

I ran to the princess chambers and knocked the door but got no response and hence I called for Lady Maria but still no response I forced open the door and found Lady Maria on the floor and no trace of the princess.

I looked everywhere to find out any sign of the danger and noticed that southern window was open and cold winds have made their way inside. When I reached the window I found a dark form carrying the unconscious princess. I shouted at it and then it showed me its white teeth grinning and soon the form drifted into nothingness.
