Dexter came near me and said " See I told you you are a natural..."

I nodded my head but I was still feeling that something could go wrong still.

Astra's POV

Early in the dawn I was woken up by Sophia and I smiled at her when I opened my eyes.

I had a good and refreshing sleep but what really made me happy was that I have managed to spoil the arrangements.The thought made me too happy.

 I got up from my bed and refreshed myself. After I was done, Sophia put forth the breakfast of fresh fruits. I dugged into it and asked why no cooked meal.

To which she replied "Well seems like someone really forgot today is the day of celebration and she herself asked cook to just go ahead with preparing the dishes for celebration and leave the breakfast of fresh fruits for her" Sophie replied.

" Oh of course I told him not to bother with that" I said. Suddenly I remembered that I did not decide about my dress for the event. 

" Sophie I don't have any dress for the event" I told her

"Well I thought so..we can always go to your mother's room for loaning the gowns. She has an exquisite collection of gowns. You must go there" she said

Then after the breakfast Sophie took me to the old queen's chamber and we searched for gowns. After a long time we got a strapless mermaid gown with low cut which was satin color with golden flowers flowing in a v-shape and front was having  frills of netted white material with a mix of silver work on the front. I just loved the dress and decided to wear it for the celebration.

When we came back to my chambers. My bath with milk and red rose and incense was ready. I took a long and relaxing bath and while my maids were busy massaging my foot and back and arms. I didn't know when I dozed off.

I woke up when Sophia shook my arms.

"It's time to dress up my dear princess" she said with a smile.

"Oh I am so sorry, I must have been tired" I replied sheepishly.

After I was dressed in the gown, Sophie took her task of making my hair in a half crown style. She applied Kohl in my eyes though I didn't need it I had the darkest eyelashes and she applied a balm making my rosy lips shine

With my final make over I looked like a different person and beyond beautiful. 

"Oh Sophie I am feeling so good. You made me feel like a beautiful person" I said smiling

"Well you are a very beautiful woman Princess both inside and outside" She told me.

We chatted for sometime and soon it was time for me to make my presence in the throne room. I made my way towards the throne room where the crowning ceremony will take place followed by my maiden friends. I could feel the stares of the people around but I got used to it by now. I knew I would be looked upon both as a royal and a woman. I have learned a lot in last month about this Kingdom.

I sat on the throne and the ceremony began. The priest came and prayed to god and then he told everyone that crown can be placed on my head. The Oracle of the Kingdom came and placed  the crown on my head. I could feel a rush of energy and when I gazed around all were gasping as the crown was glittering when it was set on my head. All who had been present to witness were surprised and happy that I indeed was the King's heir and owner of the throne and crown. I was officially made the queen of the Varavon Kingdom.

The crown on my head made me aware that I have formed a bond with all the people of Varavon Kingdom and from this day and moment I am their ruler and protector. I pledged I would do so with my life.

Then we moved to the amphitheater where I sat on a high pedestal at amphitheater with a tent acting as shade during the bright light. The decoration of amphitheater which I thought I have spoiled, was so beautiful that I felt I am in between bushes of flowers. I loved the sight of it. I was delighted to see it. The whites of Lilly accentuated the prominence of red roses.

May be Alex did double checked on his duties and well he did a good job I was amused by this

The fights began in the center of amphitheater for all people of Kingdom to see the archery skills. The man Donovan was indeed talented until Alex defeated him in his skill. I had a mixed feeling for that I was happy that we have best archers but at same time why it have to be Alex.

Then the show for spear skills began which was then followed by sword skills. I was enjoying but really these warriors fought with vengeance I could see it in their body language that they would not be kind to any of the enemies.

But good part of this show was whoever was the winner did not brag about his victory, the two who were fighting like fierce enemies were hugging each other after the fight.I was glad to have soldiers who were taking the things in good spirit.

The fight began with Soldier Draco and Soldier Andrew. It was a great fight and followed by many others and soon I was seeing Alex and Marcus in the middle of the fight. I was seeing how ruthlessly Marcus was attacking Alex and Alex defended with equal vigor and skill.

Soon the fight came to end and I released the breath I was holding. I was admiring the Alex for his bravery when suddenly Raymond popped in and challenged Alex. I felt myself go tense, I could feel darkness lurking out of Raymond but how is that possible. He is just a human and not the creature of night or a demon.

Alex was brave and as stubborn as a mule when it comes to challenges. My eyes landed on Alex and he looked at me before starting the fight. I watched both of them dueling and soon I was finding Raymond was loosing. But suddenly he became so powerful and I could see the dark power around him. He was fighting like a demon.  Then I felt myself raising in the air and then light and then darkness.

ALEX POV

I fought with so many warriors and last it was me and Marcus. He was a good fighter but he could not meet my skills as my reflexes were faster than a human. Soon he was getting tired but he was still giving a good fight. He attacked me on my neck I stopped his sword in the middle and hit his knee with my right leg and down he went. I kept my feet on his right hand and my sword on his neck and my best sword man was on the his back on the ground staring at me with admiration.

I could hear the crowd applauding and then I stared in the direction of princess and She smiled and the smile lit her eyes. I smiled back, then suddenly the Chief Minister's son Raymond came in the center of amphitheater and challenged me.

I accepted his challenge and looked at princess for approval and started the fight. Raymond was not bad at sword skills but he still lacked the fastness in his attack. I was dodging his attacks nicely. But suddenly I felt that his reflexes have become ten times faster. He was much faster for me than he was 10 minutes before. I thought might be it was his strategy to understand my reflexes and my skill. The fight became intense and then he hit me with his fist on my chest and the impact was so hard that I fell to the ground my sword slipping from my hand. He was about to stab me in my stomach when he was pushed away with a white light away from him and into the air and he was thrown on the ground and he hit his head so hard that he went unconscious but still the white light lifted him up and hit him on the poles of the amphitheater. I was stupefied for a while but soon came to my senses and watched the direction of white light and I saw that the princess was in the air and the whole blast of light was emitting from here form.

Her once blue orbs were now silver and her once golden tresses were more golden than before. Her form left me stunned. Then I saw that the tent which was planted for her safety was giving in with the energy emitting out of her. I ran to her and held her wrists and could feel the energy flow stopping a and slowly she was coming back to ground and then she fell unconscious in my arms. I carried her to her chambers.

I send the maids in her chamber to call for a healer while I tucked her in her bed. Soon the healer came and told us that she was fine. I brought a chair and sat next to her and was thinking over the events when the Oracle entered the chambers.

"Oh warrior you still are here... I think you can leave as there are maids to take care of princess" She said

" No I am not going anywhere until princess is conscious" I retorted back angrily.

"Oh that will be taken care and soon she will be in the celebration" She answered me smiling.

" What are you mad for taking her back to celebration when she is not well"

She looked at me and went to princess and kept her hand on her forehead and chanted some words and then I saw princess getting up from her bed and moving towards the amphitheater. She went and sat on her throne and then the Oracle went to her and she snapped her finger which brought princess out of her stupor.

" What happened" She asked

" Nothing you just fainted and we tried to bring you back" Oracle replied.

"Oh I am so sorry,  I think then celebration should start" Princess said

I was confused as to what just happened. She fainted and now she doesn't even remember what happened.

Then the herald announced that I have won the sword skill, archery competition. Princess got up from her place smiling and awarded me with the best sword award.

I took the award and returned to my place and soon other warriors were called to be given the prizes and soon the festivities started.

The delicacies were served and I saw princess was happy with the arrangements and soon the artists began singing and dancing and late night some artist started folklore and in the midnight celebration came to end.

When everything was done I ventured into the chambers where Raymond was getting healed. I saw that he was writhing in pain. I asked the healer what was happening when he said 

" I think the princess's powers have made him suffer not from physical pain for his body is not broken or hurt. His pain is internal and I could do nothing for this pain. May be princess could"

I was surprised that healer was unable to relieve Raymond of the pain. With the thought to make his mercy plea to princess I moved towards princess's chambers.
