I turned to walk again when I bumped into someone.

“Woah Woah, Easy there Sweetheart.”

I felt a chill run down my spine as I heard his voice. My walking nightmare was standing in front of me. Was he supposed to be here? He wasn’t right? Can’t he let me be? What does he want now? Guess what? He will not leave a single moment of peace for me. Just when I was trying to find a little happiness in my hopeless life, he again entered the scene and now I am well aware that once again I will be going through the same mental torment.

“May I know why you are sitting here like a useless trash bag? I don’t think I sent you here to loiter around now, did I? Or are you roaming around to get a chance to flee? Nah, you don’t seem to be that dumb that you will try to escape when you know what kind of loving husband you have, isn’t it darling? Anyways,Your father’s filthy blood runs in your veins, He is anything but dumb, you aren’t as well. Cunning whore”

He said with every word of his filled with bitterness. Sometimes I just feel, what kind of a dumb man he is. He calls himself so shrewd, so sharp then how can he do all of this to me when the real culprit over here is my father? How can he be so inhuman? So blind in a thrust of revenge that he is committing the same deeds as my father did. If he has such a big personality, so great as he says, how can he do this injustice with me?

‘Because he’s a monster’

I heard a voice echo in my head which felt like a mock. How can I even expect some kind of justice from an immoral inhuman like him? Who does not even consider human as human but some low lifes whom he can crush under his mighty feet.

He has no morals, no ethics, absolutely nothing! He is well aware about what he’s doing, He is simply vicious. He straight away does not care. He is clever enough, his cruel brain calculates every action and the reaction, he knows I or my mother has no fault over here but he will keep tormenting me because that’s what his character is! That's what he is! That’s what The Veer is! An evil selfish cruel human who loves torturing people. He has no goodness in him. He’s a sadist devil.

“I don’t recall slicing off your tongue Arundhati.”

I gasped as his dangerous glare pulled me back from my thoughts. I was swimming so deep in my thoughts that I totally forgot that he was standing just in front.

“S… Sorry… I…”

I tried to say when he grabbed my arm in a tight grip.

“Guess I need to teach you how to talk properly first. I hate it when you stutter like this. You irritate the shit out of me. I loathe weak and spineless mammering females like you. You sound like a fucking goat.”

He said near my ear as his nails dug into my skin. I lowered my gaze and gave a thought to what he said. I was always a soft spoken and polite person but never was so underconfident in my life. He’s not wrong when he said that I mumble like a goat. I admit that I do and I feel equally pathetic when I do that. Nobody likes being weak. I don’t either. I hate how weak and terrible I have grown into. My earlier self was not like this, all of this happened after he came into my life.

“Fucking speak damn it!”

He whisper yelled.

“ I am sorry master, I didn’t mean to ignore you.”

I said as I looked at him while finally being able to pluck up some courage.

“What are you exactly doing over here Arundhati? And where the heck is Arsenio?! This kind of negligence is not expected from him.”

Veer said with his teeth gritted looking furious like most of the time. He has serious anger issues and that’s what makes his already daunting behavior more challenging.

“Today is his wife’s birthday, she is buying things and visiting shops, he’s with her. I didn’t feel it was good being the third wheel, I was feeling really bad because, it was their moment, solely theirs, I am no one to disturb it. It’s not like…”

I was about to continue and explain that both of them genuinely asked me to accompany them but he went ballistic and cut me off.

“And who are you to calculate stuffs and reaching to a fucking absurd outcome? Huh? I don’t think Arsenio begged you to leave him and his wife alone, You are the one who yourself chose to be alone, isn’t it?! You love to get on my nerves, you have to do things which makes me enraged. Is it some sort of kink of yours slave? Hm? To get fucked hard and rough by your master?”

He said and all I could do was look at him, bewildered. I am amazed at how bluntly he said that.

“I…actually…I..”

Yet again I started to stutter to be able to organize my scattered words into a proper answer. He was completely right when he said that I myself chose to be alone.

“Boss! You didn’t inform me that you are coming? Everything alright!?”

Veer was opening his mouth to reply when we heard Arsenio, who was standing at a distance with a bunch of bags hanging down his hands, behind him there were two to three guards with more shopping bags, and beside of him was standing Inaya, who was smiling widely at us. She was holding a popsicle in her hand.

“This guy has gone nuts behind his wife. Such a shame. Hate to see him like this.”

I heard Veer whisper to himself. Why would he say something like this? Can’t he see how much in love that guy is! How happy he is! I don’t understand what’s his issue with men in love? Does he want everyone to be like him? Treat their partners in a pathetic manner? I don’t understand his nature.

“I was not informed about your arrival! I would have gone to pick you up, you should have called me boss.”

Arsenio said as he rushed towards us with Inaya walking behind.

“Leave about me Arsenio, I am capable enough to handle my affairs, the point to think about at this very moment is, Why would you just leave my wife like this? I am sure enough that she herself convinced you to leave her alone, but don’t you think it was wrong on your part to leave her like this when you are well aware that she doesn’t know anything about this place. Leaving her simply with these guards was not something that I thought you would do. I left her over your liability Arsenio, you gave me your words that you would take good care of everything. This is so negligent from your side, what if someone attacked when she was here all alone. Our guards are well equipped, no denying in that but I only trust you. Guess I was wrong.”

Veer said as he slid his hands inside his pocket and started coldly towards Arsenio, he was looking really upset. This is happening just because of me. I shouldn’t have joined them in the first place. I don’t understand why Veer is behaving like this. I am not a toddler who is incapable of handling herself but I can’t deny the fact that he isn’t completely wrong, keeping in mind the recent incidents. I was on the verge of dying and at that time guards were around, leave about the guards, Veer was himself present there with me, he was the one who was targeted.

But it’s not Arsenio’s fault because I myself insisted on coming here. I want to defend him but my pathetic self is chaining my mouth, I don’t want to anger Veer again.

“I apologize,Boss. You’re right, I should’ve never left her like this,Won’t repeat this ever. Inaya you go with the guards, I am coming afterwards with Boss and Maam.”

Arsenio said and Inaya nodded sadly. Oh god she looks so disheartened. No no, I can't see her like this because of my mistake. I need to stop this and do something, today is her special day.

“It’s okay Arsenio, I don’t want you to wish for my death you know, be with your wife, I will be here with mine now.”

Unexpectedly Veer said with a smirk. This was totally unpredictable. Veer being generous?!

“Boss! I would never wish for your death, you know. How will I survive without you ordering me around?”

Arsenio said smiling and Veer chuckled.

What I can see is, they share a very healthy bond. Veer is indifferent to him, he is completely different with Arsenio, it’s like he behaves naturally without any restraints.

“Well,you don't have to. Now leave and make sure the arrangements are well enough, I want the best drinks. I will torment you if you disappoint me.”

Veer said with a stoic face as Arsenio nodded.

“Sir, I am sorry as well, I asked api to join us but then I got too involved in shopping. I shouldn’t have made her feel like that.”

Inaya said sadly. Oh No!

“It was not your fault Inaya! I came here on my own choice! Please don’t blame yourself and be sad cuz of me, today’s your birthday! Enjoy it rather than being sad over these little things!”

I said smiling softly at her trying my best to comfort her.

“It wasn’t your fault. My wife’s a little mischievous when I am not around. I am here now, I will look after her. You go and prepare for the evening.”

Veer said and one thing which I was sure about was, I am in deep trouble.

“Okay Boss, then we are leaving. We will be keenly waiting for both of you.”

Arsenio said and Veer nodded silently. I smiled at Inaya as she waved at me. Soon both of them were out of sight. And I slowly turned my head towards Veer fearing his next action.

“I will make sure that your legs don’t find the strength to loiter around, you will think twice before pulling out all these kinds of stunts. After the event, be ready on the bed.”

He said, looking at me with his sinister eyes.

“Ye..Yes Master.”

I mumbled as I started down.

“Fast learner I see. Better for you. Now, Now, as you have literally dawdled till now, let’s get the things done. You are seriously so useless.”

He said as he held my left arm and started to drag me.

We were inside the building and he asked someone about the jewelry shop.

Is he planning to give her jewelry as a present? I hope Inaya likes it as much as I have observed. She doesn’t wear accessories much and I saw her buying perfumes, cute stuff, basically stationary and lastly pretty dresses. I would have given her a big teddy bear and box of chocolates if I had an opportunity, I have no say in his matters, so I won’t indulge.

Soon we were inside a huge showroom having unique pieces of jewelry, from wristlets to rings to attractive neck pieces, everything was charming.

“Stop embarrassing me Arundhati. Will you? I know you have lack of decency, you lack class but you can act a little decent, Can’t you?”

He degraded me. I don’t belong to a rich family, but that’s what it is, that’s who I am and I have no shame in that. I was never fortunate to visit these sorts of places but that’s okay, you should spend in limits, you should remember what you can afford.

“Sorry Master.”

I said and decided to avoid looking here and there.

“Good evening Sir, Good Evening Ma'am,what would you like to see? Name it and we’ll present it to you, we have the best collection of jewels in the town.”

A male attendant arrived and greeted us.

“Wrap the most expensive set and pack it.”

The attendant was equally confused and clueless as me.

“ Master, it’s her birthday, they invited us so warmly, we just can’t give her anything like this, without even seeing it. I know this is not my place to comment but if you allow, can I choose a set for her, I am a woman, I will understand her interest better. It will be your gift, it should be the best.”

I requested nervously in a low voice pleading him with my eyes. I am shocked at how he just ordered the most expensive piece just like that without even sparing a glance at anything. Gifts are connected with emotions, we gift things with all our heart to someone we care about and here that someone is Inaya, She would have felt so bad if she ever gets to know about this not only Inaya,Arsenio would be disheartened as well.

“Did I.. Fine,Show her. She will choose.”

I was already to get hit by his agonizing words but to my fortune his phone started to ring interrupting him.

He left with his phone in his ears leaving me in the shop alone. The salesman accompanied me and made me sit on a comfortable couch while they started showing me all the enchanting pieces. Finally after a good 15 minutes, I finalized a pretty diamond neck piece with pretty emerald stones attached to it.

“Well,guess you are done.”

I felt a shiver run down my spine as I heard Veer's voice, immediately turning my head I saw him standing just behind me, having a stoic face as always.

“Get up.”

He said and I did silently.

“Don’t even think that your pacification would work over me Arundhati, I very well understood your behavior. Try appeasing me as much as you want, slave,it won’t work, remember that. Now, I will be taking you to a boutique, I have already selected a few gowns for you, you will wear them and show me, I will finalize.”

He said,making me tremble. His voice is very eerie, it scares me, but what am I supposed to do then?! I am trying to behave in the best way possible! I am just acting like his personal servant.  His puppet! What more does he want?! Should I stop talking?!

‘Yes that’s the only way to be at peace.’

I heard a voice in my head say and indeed I agree. I will not say a single thing in front of him, I would not have said anything over the gifts matter as well, but I couldn’t resist myself! It was for Inaya!

Soon we reached in front of a very alluring showroom of designer gowns, it was simply splendid and each of the gowns which were displayed using the mane queen were screaming expensiveness.

The ceiling up there was in a shape of dome, My eyes sparkled as we entered the shop, never in my life did I imagine that someone I would get a chance to visit a place like this, so enormous and so costly, money can surely gift you with all the luxuries of life, When I was in Jaipur, I remembering visiting the local bazaar with my mum specially during Diwali. Life was so simple and peaceful back then, though we had very limited sources but we used to manage well. Good old days.

And now if I look carefully, I have nearly every luxury in the world around me, yet there’s nothing but a deep hollow inside my heart.

“Here, This is my Wife, show her the gowns I chose. Be fast.”

Veer said to a young lady who then attended me towards the changing room, which was equally huge in size, oh god, if I had voiced my amazement out, Veer would have roasted my middle class self. But do I feel bad that I belong to a middle class family? Absolutely no! I am proud of my background! Middle class people have their own struggles! And they toil to manage everything with their limited income. We know the value of money.

“Ma'am, which one would you like to try first?”

The lady asked as she pulled up the curtains of the changing room and I gasped as I saw three gowns which looked as if it came out straight from a fairy tale book.

“So beautiful!”

I couldn’t help but say.

I have always seen those Disney princesses wear these kinds of outfits! Not only them, In those awesome barbie movies as well, I hate to admit it but Veer has seriously good taste in clothing. All the three gowns are very pretty, it will be a tough job to choose one but what I fear is, if I wear any of these, won’t my outfit outshine the birthday girl!! No no! I don’t want that! If something like that would have happened to me on my special day, if someone else stole all the limelight then I would have been disheartened! I just hope I don’t appear overdressed, but I don’t think Veer would do something like that, moreover majority of the people who will come to the party will more or less belong to affluent families.

So, maybe guests in all these high class get togethers get dressed like this. Maybe that’s what they find normal.

“Ma’am?”

I was swimming deeper and deeper in my thoughts when the attendant called and then I realized that they all were waiting for me tk choose.

“Um. This!”

Without giving it a second thought, I straight away went for the gorgeous golden gown with stone work and sequins all over it. It gave me major Belle vibes from beauty and the beast.

It was truly enchanting.

“Ok, Do you need help with it?”

She asked and I politely denied it. I am not comfortable with it.

“Fine, if you still need any help, we are just outside.”

The attendant said and left me inside, after dropping down the curtain and leaving the gown hanging on the hanger.

Firstly, I got rid of the arm sling pouch, I guess my hand is a little better now? Oh no, I was wrong, now what?

Guess I need to call them.

“Need help Darling?”

Hello, I was down with covid actually, Then exams were in a row, sorry for being late, starting with the next chapter, I read every comment, feel really guilty and I am sorry for being so inconsistent, but once again, I will say only one thing, won't leave this platform. Will finish all the three.
