Almost two weeks later, Leo had accepted his siblings' apologies, even though he still did not want to come back. Maddie had stopped being mad at them.

Claire's death anniversary was a few days ago.

The alien girl was emotionally exhausted.

The mentors were on a mission.

- "The structures are collapsing!" Chase yelled. "Everyone out. Now!"

Bree super speeded her eldest brother and two civilians away.

- "I got it." The Matthews girl used her heat vision to melt the broken structures back together as she carried the roof on her arms and protected everyone under her. "AAAAHHH!" She screamed as she used her heat vision, letting go of all of her negatives emotions.

She also used her freezing breath to cool down the metal.

The genius boy frowned, sadly. I hate seeing her like that.

- "Mads! It works!" He yelled. "Let's go!"

Maddie flew towards him and wrapped her arms around his waist as she flew both of them out. She put him down once they were on safe ground.

- "Thanks." The green hazel-eyed boy said. "Are you okay?"

The alien girl's vision started to blur.

- "M?" The bionic girl frowned.

- "Little lady, you're okay?" Adam waved his arm in front of his best friend's face.

- "I'm fine." The Matthews girl, weakly, nodded. "Give me a second, it was heavy."

- "You used a lot of your powers at the same time." The Davenport girl said.

- "I know." Maddie replied. "Go take care of the civilians."

The three siblings, reluctantly, nodded and walked away.

The alien girl exhaled loudly as she fell on her knees.

- "Mads!" Chase ran towards her, distraught, and crouched down.

- "I just..." The Matthews girl sighed. "I'm okay."

- "You're sure?" The genius boy frowned.

- "Yeah." Maddie smiled softly.

The green hazel-eyed boy got up and extended his hand.

The alien girl smiled and took it as she got up.

- "Thanks." She said.

- "Any day." Chase replied.

Later, that day, the mentors were in the living room. Maddie was reading on a chair. The two eldest were talking on the couch. Chase was searching a paper.

- "Chase, let me help you." The alien girl said.

- "No, you already did a lot today." The genius boy went through dozens of paper, laying on the desk. "I'm gonna find it."

- "I'm sorry, I was sure to have put it there." Adam replied.

The Matthews girl rolled her eyes and put down her book. She walked towards the boy she loved.

- "Mads..." The green hazel-eyed boy frowned.

- "Shut it." Maddie said as she started to look through the papers with him.

- "God, you're stubborn." Chase shook his head.

- "Like you." The alien girl smiled.

The genius boy snickered.

- "There you are." The Matthews girl took a paper and handed it to the boy she loved.

- "Thank you! You are a lifesaver." The green hazel-eyed boy grinned and took the paper, before walking further away.

- "Ow." Maddie winced.

The three siblings looked at her, frowning.

- "What do you mean 'ow'?" Bree asked.

The alien girl looked down at her hand. Her eyes widened, distraught.

- "No." She murmured.

- "What's wrong?" The tall guy questioned.

The Matthews girl raised her hand. She had a cut on her finger, blood running down her skin.

- "What the heck?" Chase frowned and took her hand to examine it.

- "M, if it's another prank, it's not funny." The bionic girl said.

- "It's not." Maddie replied. "I lost my powers."

The siblings looked at her with wide eyes, before looking at each other.

A couple of minutes later, the adult Davenport brothers were called in.

- "What's wrong?" Donald asked.

- "Little lady's bleeding." Adam replied.

- "Please, don't say it like that." Bree frowned.

- "I lost my powers." Maddie said.

- "What?!" The adults, simultaneously, exclaimed.

- "You're hurt?" The father asked.

- "I just have a paper cut." The alien girl replied.

- "What happened?" Douglas asked.

- "On the mission, earlier, I used a lot of my powers at the same time. So, I guess my body's exhausted. It's its way to tell me to slow down." The Matthews girl explained.

- "And Leo leaving, Claire's death anniversary and your Earth birthday tomorrow, probably just added to your exhaustion." Chase added.

- "Yeah." Maddie sighed.

- "Is there something we can do?" Donald questioned.

- "There is nothing anybody can do." The genius boy replied. "Mads is in solar flare."

- "We just have to wait and see." The alien girl shrugged. "Maybe my powers will come back after a good night of sleep, maybe in a few days or..."

- "Or what?" The bionic girl frowned.

- "Or maybe never." The Matthews girl added.

- "Don't say that." The father shook his head.

- "Superman and Supergirl always get their powers back." The uncle continued.

- "Yes, but we both know that every time they lose their powers, there is a chance it's permanent." Maddie replied.

- "You can't lose hope, Mads." The green hazel-eyed boy put his hand on her back.

- "I'm not. I'm just aware of the risks." The alien girl said. "I'm not saying it's gonna happen, but there is a chance, today was the last day, I used my powers."

- "You still have your Green Martian's and Calderian's ones?" Donald asked.

- "Yeah. Because I got them because of radiations, not because of the yellow Sun." The Matthews girl nodded.

- "So, you still have telekinesis, telepathy, teleportation, psychic translation, vacuum adaption, mental shield, invisibility, energy barrier creation and your enhanced mental capacity from your Kryptonian's brain?" Chase questioned.

- "That's it?" The tall guy frowned.

- "Yeah. Nine powers on forty-seven." Maddie sighed. "The rest of my powers are Kryptonian and Daxamite."

- "They'll come back." The father put his hand on her shoulder.

- "I hope so." The alien girl smiled softly.

- "In the meanwhile, it's the sign of your exhaustion. So no more classes nor missions. You need to rest." Donald said.

- "Agree." Douglas nodded.

- "What?" The Matthews girl frowned. "No. I'll rest when I'm dead."

- "Mads." The genius boy frowned.

- "I'm serious. I'm not stopping." Maddie replied.

The father shook his head.

- "Fine. But you are careful." He said.

- "I will." The alien girl nodded.

Later, in the middle of the night, Chase walked to the kitchen.

Maddie was wrapped in a blanket in front of the lit fireplace.

- "Mads?" The bionic boy frowned. "What are you doing?"

- "I can't feel cold or hot with my powers. So, apparently, when I'm in solar flare, my body is supposed to be at the Daxam temperature, which Earth is not." The alien girl explained.

- "You're cold?" The Davenport boy asked.

- "I'm freezing." The Matthews girl corrected. "I'm in front of the fire with a blanket, and I'm freezing."

The green hazel-eyed boy sat next to her.

- "Wow, it's hot." He said.

- "I can't feel it." The blue-eyed girl shrugged. "What are you doing up?"

- "I was watching a documentary." Chase replied.

- "At 11pm?" Maddie snickered.

- "Yeah." The bionic boy nodded. "Let's go to my bed."

- "Why?" The alien girl frowned.

- "Because I have the AC in my room, and you don't." The Davenport boy replied. "I'm gonna put it on heat."

- "But you're gonna be hot." The Matthews girl said.

- "I'll go in your room." The green hazel-eyed boy explained.

- "No. I'm not stealing your room." The blue-eyed girl shook her head.

- "I'm not asking." Chase put one of his arms under her knees and one around her back. He got and up and walked towards his room with the girl he loved, wrapped in a blanket, in his arms. "I'm telling you."

- "Put me down." Maddie chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

- "As you wish." The bionic boy dropped her on his mattress.

The alien girl gasped.

The Davenport boy opened his closet and took out his old pajamas. He threw them on the bed.

- "Put it on. Dad created it, so we wouldn't be hot nor cold." He said.

- "Chase, it won't work." The Matthews girl replied.

- "Just put it on." The green hazel-eyed boy smiled as he changed the temperature of the room. He kissed her forehead. "Goodnight, Mads."

- "Chase..." The blue-eyed girl started.

- "Yeah?" Chase turned around.

- "Thank you." Maddie smiled.

The bionic boy smiled back and closed the door as he walked away.

The alien girl took the blanket off her. She put on the sweater and pajamas pants above her own pajama. Smells like him. She smiled and slid under the covers, after she took off her glasses. She discovered that when she was in solar flare, she could not see without her glasses.

Thursday, 19th November 2015

The next morning, Chase saw the girl he loved, wearing a sweater and pants.

- "You're still cold?" He frowned.

- "Yeah." Maddie nodded.

- "Was it better in my room?" The bionic boy asked.

- "A little, but I was still freezing." The alien girl replied.

- "Okay, tonight, we are both sleeping in my room." The Davenport boy kissed her temple. "Happy Earth birthday."

- "Thank you. And no, you are gonna be so hot." The Matthews girl said.

- "We can cuddle. Since I'm a human radiator, you could be hotter, and you are a freezer, so I won't be hot." The green hazel-eyed boy snickered.

The blue-eyed girl frowned. Damn, it could work.

- "You know I'm right." Chase smirked.

- "God, I hate when you act cocky like that." Maddie replied.

- "No, you don't." The bionic boy shook his head, smiling. "Tonight, my room. No debate." He said as he walked away.

The alien girl chuckled.

Later, the mentors were having a video call with Leo in the living room.

- "It's really weird not having you here, Leo. Everybody really misses you." Bree said.

- "It's been two weeks. When are you coming back?" Chase asked.

- "I'm sorry, guys. When I said I was done, I meant it. I've hung up my mission suit forever." The middle brother replied.

- "Then can I have it?" Adam asked. "I found a guy in Japan who's willing to pay top dollar."

Maddie slapped him upside the head.

- "I appreciate the call, but things are actually great back here. Uh, school is much better without Perry and I get to spend a ton of time with my mom." Leo explained.

- "Every sixteen-year-old boy's dream." The bionic girl, sarcastically, smiled.

- "Are you sure we can't change your mind?" The genius boy questioned, with his arms crossed.

- "Sorry, guys. I'm staying here. I gotta go. Mom's hosting her book club tonight, and I'm in charge of dessert." The middle brother replied. "Turns out, my laser sphere has caramelized the perfect crème brûlée."

The three youngest mentors chuckled.

- "Ooh, that sounds good. Do I, uh, have to read a book to get in on that?" The tall guy asked.

- "Later, guys." Leo said. "And Dee?"

- "Yeah?" The alien girl replied.

- "Happy Earth Birthday. Sorry, I'm not there with you." The middle brother said.

- "Thanks. And you know, you could." The Matthews girl smiled softly.

- "I'm not coming back." Leo shook his head. "Bye, guys." He hung up.

- "I feel bad. We should've given him more credit." The Davenport girl said.

- "I know." The green hazel-eyed boy nodded, sadly. "And he deserves to be up there with us at the award ceremony tomorrow."

Maddie nodded.

The eldest sighed loudly.

- "Couldn't agree with you more. And that's why he's gonna be. Say hello to the newest member of the bionic team." He pulled out a cardboard cutout of Leo. "Cardboard Leo."

- "What is that?" Chase asked.

- "Uh, it's a life-size cardboard cutout of Leo, hence the name Cardboard Leo. Pay attention, Chase. This stuff isn't that hard." Adam replied.

The genius boy rolled his eyes as he crossed his arms.

The alien girl, quickly, glanced at his arms. Since he realized that I liked his arms, he hasn't worn long sleeves once. God, I'm gonna kill him or kiss him.

The green hazel-eyed boy smirked at her.

The Matthews girl rolled her eyes.

- "I think what he means is, are you crazy? We can't bring that to the ceremony!" Bree exclaimed.

- "Of course we can, and if things get boring, I'm gonna fold him into an airplane and fly him around." The tall guy started to make flying noises. "Whee!" He pretended to fly away with the cardboard.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Donald was walking in the common area with the siblings.

- "So, 9:00 a.m. tomorrow, we'll take the hydraloop to the mainland, and we will travel to the President's award ceremony in my self-driving limo." He explained.

- "I call shotgun!" Adam raised his arm.

- "Adam, it's a limo. Everyone rides in the back." Chase replied.

- "You sit where you want. I will still be holding the shotgun." The tall guy said.

Maddie snickered.

- "Once the president is dazzled, I will undoubtedly be showered with a big, fat contract and piles of cash, which I just might share with you four." The father smiled.

- "Really?" Bree asked, hopeful.

The alien girl frowned. Are they really buying it?

- "No." The scientist laughed.

- "Wait, wait, wait. So, even though it's our award ceremony, now it's become all about you?" The genius boy frowned.

- "You know, for the smartest man in the world, it really took you a long time to figure that out." Donald walked away.

The Matthews girl chuckled.

- "Seriously, Mads?" The green hazel-eyed glared at her.

- "He's right." Maddie shrugged.

Chase snickered.

Douglas, Taylor, and Logan walked in.

- "Taylor!" The girls exclaimed.

- "Taylor!" The genius boy added.

The three youngest ran towards her and hugged her, one by one.

- "Hey! Good to see you up and around. Just so you know, this is Adam." The eldest teenager said, loudly.

- "I lost my vision, not my hearing." The eldest Krane frowned.

- "She obviously didn't lose that nasty attitude either." Adam murmured, causing Taylor to glare at him.

- "What are those glasses?" The green hazel-eyed boy pointed at the glasses she was wearing.

- "My latest piece of technology that I customized for her." The uncle explained. "High-tech lenses that use a series of laser-guided sensors to enhance her spatial awareness."

- "They don't allow me to see in the traditional sense, but they vibrate to let me know..." The eldest Krane's glasses vibrated when she approached a console. "When there's an obstacle in my path."

- "Cool." The alien girl smiled.

- "That's so cool. I wanna try." The Krane boy reached for her glasses. His sister twisted his arm behind his back. "Ow. So sorry, so sorry. Please don't hurt me."

- "Hey, I'm impressed, Taylor. You've made a lot of progress in a few weeks." The Davenport girl said.

- "Thanks. I have been working really hard." Taylor replied.

- "We can all see that." The Matthews girl patted her shoulder.

- "Thanks." The eldest Krane smiled. "Have any of you guys spoken to Leo? I was hoping someone convinced him to come back to the academy by now."

- "I've been trying since he left." Maddie sighed.

- "And we talked to him earlier today, but no luck. He won't change his mind." Bree replied.

- "Oh, yeah, it's really annoying when people don't understand what you're going through." The tall guy said loudly. Taylor rolled her eyes and walked out of the room. "You see, there's that attitude again."

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Maddie had her feet propped on Chase's thighs as they watched their French TV show when Bree walked in, holding two dresses.

- "Hey, which dress do you, guys, like better for the ceremony? Red or black?" She asked.

The red dress had a transparent spaghetti straps and a sweetheart neckline. The black dress had thicker straps and a square neckline.

- "What do I know?" The genius boy frowned.

- "Come on, I need someone to help me with this stuff." The bionic girl replied.

- "Well, I'm sorry, but it's not gonna be me." The green hazel-eyed boy said. "Ask Mads."

- "You should wear the black." The alien girl smiled as she paused the episode.

- "Red is the obvious match for her skin tone." Chase replied.

- "Yeah, which is why you should wear it Sunday for your date with Skylar." The Matthews girl smirked.

The Davenport girl blushed.

- "Oooh, yeah." The genius boy nodded. "Good idea."

- "So, black for tomorrow and red for Sunday." Bree said.

- "Yep." The two geniuses, simultaneously, replied.

- "Alright. Thanks." The bionic girl smiled.

Adam walked in, holding Cardboard Leo.

- "Hey, Chase, which one of these outfits look better on Cardboard Leo? Blue...or black?" He asked as he showed two cardboard suits.

- "Why are you dressing up Cardboard Leo?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked.

- "Hey, if I have to wear a suit to the award ceremony, so does he." The tall guy said. "But, the joke's on you because we're both going commando."

- "Gross." Maddie frowned. "You're lucky, Zack can't come."

- "It wouldn't bother him. It's less clothes to take off." The eldest shrugged.

The alien girl snickered. He did not just say that in front of his siblings.

Chase frowned, in disgust.

- "Adam, get rid of that thing." He said.

- "No! When real Leo watches from home, I want him to feel like he's still an important part of our team." Adam explained.

- "That's sweet." The alien girl said.

- "Have you lost your mind?" The Davenport girl grabbed the cardboard. "This is not our brother, it's a piece of cardboard!"

- "No, it's four pieces of cardboard and I spent an extra $250 on the glossy finish so you WILL respect him!" The tall guy replied.

- "I give up." Bree walked away.

- "Me too." The genius boy pressed start on the remote. "But, go with the blue. It's all the rage this season." He told his brother, before turning his head towards the screen.

The Matthews girl snickered.

The green hazel-eyed boy smiled without looking at her and put his hands on her calves.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, in the evening, Chase was walking to his room, holding the hand of the girl he loved.

- "You're gonna be hot." Maddie said.

- "Stop it." The bionic boy opened the door and let her walk through it first. "Okay, it's hot in here."

- "I told you." The alien girl replied.

- "Take off my pajamas." The Davenport boy said as he sat on his bed.

- "Why?" The Matthews girl frowned.

- "Because our skins need to touch for it to work." The green hazel-eyed boy explained. "Mads, it's just me."

- "Fine." The blue-eyed girl sighed loudly and took off his pajamas, revealing her own.

She was wearing a dark blue mini short and a very tight black tank top without a bra.

Dang it. Chase's eyes widened.

- "Happy?" Maddie snickered as she slid under the sheets.

- "That you trust me? Yes." The bionic boy smiled as he took off his shirt, leaving him in his pajamas shorts.

The alien girl let her eyes roamed down his muscular back as she rolled to her side.

The Davenport boy slid under the sheets, next to her, and turned to his side. He wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against his chest.

- "You are definitely a radiator." The Matthews girl chuckled as she wrapped her arms around his back.

- "And you are definitely a freezer." The green hazel-eyed boy snickered.

The blue-eyed girl smiled and snuggled into his neck.

Chase smiled softly and rested his head on top of hers, before tensing up slightly.

Their bodies were closer than ever, every part of her body was against his.

He could feel her breasts against him, but that was not what was driving him crazy the most. He could feel her nipples hardening against his torso because of the temperature.

I'm so cold and horny, I hope he can't feel my nipples. Maddie frowned.

I want to go under her shirt and suck on them. The bionic boy thought as he flexed his thighs.

- "It's the first year, Leo is not here for my Earth Birthday." The alien girl sighed.

Or my mom's death anniversary. She thought, sadly.

She's sad, and I'm thinking about her breasts. What's wrong with me? The Davenport boy pulled her closer.

- "I'm sorry, Mads." He said.

The Matthews girl sighed.

- "Thank you for the cake." She whispered against his skin.

- "I already told you that I will do it every year." The green hazel-eyed boy said.

- "I know." The blue-eyed girl snickered.

Chase kissed her forehead.

- "Goodnight, Mads." He whispered in her hair.

- "Goodnight, Chase." Maddie kissed the spot where his neck met his shoulder.

The bionic boy felt shivers running down his spine.

Friday, 20th November 2015

The next morning, Maddie woke up in the arms of the boy she loved. In the middle of the night, she had turned around, his chest was now facing her back.

I wasn't cold all night, thanks to my favorite radiator. She smiled softly as she tried to turn around in his arms, but his grip was too tight. Alright. She snickered and relaxed under his touch, until she felt something poking her backside. Oh, fuck. He's hard and BIG. Like super big and hard.

Chase was sleeping, peacefully, as he laid his head against hers.

If he gets up and sees that I'm awake and felt his cock, he's never gonna look at me or talk to me ever again. The alien girl frowned. She moved her pelvis forward, away from his, as she closed her eyes, pretending to sleep.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of minutes later, Chase yawned as he woke up. He smiled as he saw the girl he loved, sleeping. He kissed the star on her right shoulder blade.

Maddie leaned her head back towards him. Come on, notice it.

The bionic boy kissed her shoulder, before closing his eyes and pulling her closer. Until he noticed his erect penis pressing against her butt. Dang it. He, quickly, pulled his pelvis back. He unwrapped his arms from around her and headed to the bathroom, locking the door behind himself.

The alien girl snickered as she opened her eyes. Okay, he's definitely gonna take care of it. She sighed. Fuck, I wish I was in there with him.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Chase came out of the bathroom to find the girl he loved, wrapped in the sheets.

- "Still cold?" He asked.

- "Yeah, my radiator gave up on me." Maddie mocked.

Because I didn't want you to feel me. The bionic boy, slightly, blushed.

- "Sorry. I just went to the restroom." He lied.

Right. You did not just jerk off. The alien girl smiled.

- "It's okay." She nodded.

- "Come here." The Davenport boy slid under the sheets and pulled her closer.

- "We need to get up to get dressed." The Matthews girl snickered.

- "We can stay a few more minutes." The green hazel-eyed boy closed his eyes as he rested his chin on the top of her head.

- "I don't have my super speed anymore." The blue-eyed girl said.

- "I know. But we can still cuddle a little while." Chase replied.

- "Alright." Maddie closed her eyes and wrapped her arms around his back, her cold hands running down his back, stopping right above the waistband of his shorts. "Feels nice."

The bionic boy swallowed hard as he nodded.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, the geniuses were coming out of their rooms, dressed up.

Chase was wearing a dark blue suit with a white shirt and a matching bow tie.

Maddie was wearing a dark blue dress above the knee with a dot tulle above going to the ankles, with spaghetti straps, a sweetheart neckline, a cross tie back, and a long slit on her right leg. She had black high-heels. Her usual necklaces, rings and red lipstick with matching nails. Her hair was attached into an elegant bun.

- "Wow." The geniuses, simultaneously, said, before laughing.

- "Took the words out of my mouth." The bionic boy snickered and took her hand, before making her spin. "You look incredible."

- "Thank you." The alien girl smiled as she pushed her glasses up. "You look amazing. You should really find more occasions to wear suits."

- "Oh really?" The Davenport boy frowned, amused.

- "Definitely." The Matthews girl nodded.

- "But I had the impression that you liked my arms, bare." The green hazel-eyed boy smirked.

The blue-eyed girl glared at him.

- "Shut it, will you?" She rolled her eyes and walked away.

- "Yes, ma'am." Chase snickered and followed her.

Maddie chuckled.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of minutes later, after letting the girl he loved go in first, Chase entered the limo and sat in between her and his sister.

She was wearing the black dress and matching high-heels. Her hair was in a low, elegant bun.

The adult Davenport brothers were both wearing black suits with bow ties, except Douglas' was black and Donald's was white.

- "So, how'd you guys get this thing to the mainland?" The genius boy asked.

- "We had to helicopter it in from the island." The uncle said.

- "It was hung from incredibly strong cables. The same ones they used to pull Dad into his tux pants." Bree smiled.

- "Good one." Maddie high-fived her.

Everyone, but the father, laughed.

- "For your information, I got into these pants without any help from technology." He defended.

- "It's true. He used a girdle. And I had to tie it." Douglas complained. "And that thing did not want to be tied. I have rope burns."

- "Poor Dougie." The alien girl mocked. "Do you want a magic kiss on your boo-boo?"

The uncle glared at her as the siblings chuckled.

Adam opened the car door and climbed in with Cardboard Leo.

- "Hey, make some room for Leo." He said, before sitting down next to his best friend and putting the cardboard on his legs and the three youngest.

He was wearing a black suit with a black tie. His cardboard brother was wearing the blue suit with a black tie.

- "Hey, watch the face. That's my money." Donald replied as he checked himself in a mirror.

- "I thought your brains were your money." The green hazel-eyed boy frowned.

- "No, I mean actual money. I just had $50,000 worth of work done to this thing." The father explained.

- "This thing could not be more in the way." The bionic girl complained as she tried to push the cardboard.

- "Exactly. Just like the real Leo." The tall guy smiled, before making it stand on the seat next to him.

- "Seatbelts, everyone." Donald said, and everyone attached their seatbelts. "Drive to the presidential award ceremony. He said to the car.

- "Whoa. This thing does whatever you tell it to?" The eldest teenager asked. "Cool! Pop a wheelie!"

- "No!" Everyone yelled.

- "Just: why?" The Matthews girl frowned.

- "It's okay. It's okay." The father smiled. "The first thing I taught the computer was to tune out Adam's voice." Everyone sighed in relief. "Pop a wheelie!"

The car did a wheelie, and everyone in the limo, but Maddie, screamed.

- "Remind me, why did I agree to not teleport at the ceremony?" She, sarcastically, asked.

- "Because that gives you a reason to sit next to me." Chase whispered, in her ear, low enough so only she would hear. He put his hand on the skin the slit of her dress was exposing. "Right?"

The alien girl pressed her lips together to avoid smiling more than she already was. Fuck, I love when he touches my thighs. Butterflies filled her stomach as the genius boy, gently, caressed her thigh with his thumb as the rest of his fingers rested on her inner thigh.

The green hazel-eyed boy place his hand right under her knee to stay respectful as he touched her skin. Her skin is so smooth.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of minutes later, the limo continued to ride itself to the ceremony.

- "I gotta hand it to you, Dad. This is the smoothest ride I've ever been in." Bree said.

- "Yeah. You would never know this thing doesn't have a driver. The only thing that gets in the way is the look of sheer terror on other people's faces as we pass by." Chase grinned.

Maddie snickered as she caressed the hand on her thigh.

- "Driver error is the number-one cause of car accidents. This little baby will make automobile transportation a hundred times safer." Donald explained.

- "Hey, what's it doing?" The bionic girl looked at the small screen in front of the adults.

- "Oh, the limo's computer's plotting the location of neighboring vehicles and predicting their movement at 20 times a second." The father replied.

- "Blah, blah, blah. Where's the butt warmers?" Adam asked.

- "In case of emergency, the entire vehicle goes into lockdown. You are safer here than anywhere in the world." Donald continued.

The limo continued to drive.

- "Oh, cool. We're going over the Hurst Memorial bridge." The genius boy smiled. "Interesting fact. It's one of the largest suspension bridges in the world. Erected in 1951 by a small group of..."

- "Here's another interesting fact." The Davenport girl cut him off. "No one cares."

- "I'll gladly listen later." The alien girl whispered in the ear of the boy she loved.

The green hazel-eyed boy, slightly, blushed.

The brakes of the limo screeched, jolting everyone in the car.

- "What was that?" Douglas asked.

- "I don't know. Partition down." The father said.

The partition went down, revealing cars swerving on the bridge.

- "What's happening?" Bree frowned, in panic.

- "The bridge cables are snapping." Chase replied.

- "When I lose my powers? Seriously, universe?" The Matthews girl frowned, irritated.

- "Put it up, put it up!" The uncle yelled.

- "Partition up!" Donald ordered. The partition went up, hiding what was happening on the bridge. The limo swerved several times. "Everybody hold on!" The car swerved and bumped into something, before finally stopping. "Is everybody okay?"

Everyone nodded.

- "Why did we stop?" Maddie frowned. "I don't like this."

- "A little hungry, but..." The tall guy replied.

The limo started to rock on something.

- "Wait. Why... Why are we rocking?" The bionic girl asked.

- "The limo must be wedged over something." Douglas said.

- "What do you think it is?" The eldest teenager questioned.

- "Partition down." The father ordered.

The partition went down, revealing the sky.

- "God, I hate the universe." The alien girl said.

- "Ooh, look, clouds. I didn't know this thing could fly." Adam smiled. "Can I get a ginger ale and a bag of peanuts?"

- "We're not flying. We're dangling off the bridge!" The genius boy yelled.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of seconds later, Chase took out his phone.

- "Okay." He looked at his phone. "According to this, a transport ship slammed into the bridge. If those cables keep snapping, we're done for."

- "Thanks for saying what we're all seeing." Bree, sarcastically, replied.

The genius boy glared at her.

- "Not the time, B!" Maddie frowned.

- "I'm scared!" Adam yelled in a high-pitched voice, making everyone look at him. "That wasn't me, that was Leo. Keep it together. Leo!" He flicked the cutout.

The alien girl shook her head, in despair.

- "We have to get out of here." The bionic girl tried to open the doors, but without success. "Why won't the doors open?!"

- "The limo's computer sensed the emergency and put the car into immediate lockdown mode." Donald explained.

- "I can't get us out. There is not enough space to open a portal." The Matthews girl frowned.

- "The technology that makes it impossible to get inside the limo also makes it impossible to get out." Douglas added.

- "Even with our bionics?" The Davenport girl asked.

- "Yes, thanks to Douglas." The father accused.

The mentors rolled their eyes.

- "Me? The limo was your idea!" The uncle defended.

- "Yeah, until you ruined it. 'I can break into your limo. I'm a bad boy. I have spiked hair and wear too many bracelets'." Donald mocked.

- "Ask any guy who wears bracelets and he'll tell you. Five is the perfect amount. Two is too few, four needs one more. Ha!" Douglas exclaimed.

- "Chase only has one." The father said.

- "It's because it's a gift from Maddie." The uncle rolled his eyes. "It doesn't count."

- "Guys, stop fighting!" The green hazel-eyed boy yelled. "We have to get out of here."

- "Well, I'm not just gonna sit here all day. I'm busting us out." The tall guy punched the limo and it started rocking more.

The two geniuses held each other and the older siblings on their other side.

- "Everyone, stop moving." Douglas said. Donald started, heavily, breathing. "Stay calm, Donnie. We'll figure a way out of this."

- "It's not that. I gotta figure a way out of this girdle." The father replied.

Chase rolled his eyes and dropped his head against the shoulder of the girl he loved.

- "Oh, no. If that thing bursts, it'll take us out before the bridge does." The uncle frowned, in panic, before he started to cry.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of minutes later, Donald was trying to break into the system of the limo.

- "If I can find a way to shut down the computer, the limo will terminate lockdown mode." He explained.

- "Have you tried overriding the security architecture?" Douglas asked.

- "What about jail-breaking the cryptographic interface?" Chase questioned.

- "He already tried." Maddie said, making the Davenports frown. "I may need glasses now, but I can see."

- "What about the off button?" Adam asked, making everyone frown, as well. "I don't think he's taking us very seriously, Leo." He turned to the cardboard.

- "Stop talking to cardboard!!!" The genius boy shouted, irritated, and hit his own thighs with his fists.

The car jolted and started to rock on the bridge.

The alien girl put a hand on his inner thigh, closer to his crotch than his knee.

- "Breathe." She murmured.

The green hazel-eyed boy blushed brightly. Can't flex my thighs, or she will feel it. Dang it, she's gonna get me hard. God, I hate the effect she has on me. And she doesn't even realize it!

- "Don't move." The uncle replied. "Every time you do, we're one step closer to plummeting to our death. Just stay still."

- "I have to sneeze." Bree said.

- "Oh, come on." The Matthews girl frowned.

- "Can you hold it?" Chase asked.

- "No." The bionic girl started to try to hold back the sneeze.

- "Pinch her nose!" The father yelled.

The genius boy pinched his sister's nose to prevent her from sneezing, before exhaling loudly, as Maddie pinched the nose of the tall guy.

- "Thanks, I was about to sneeze too." He explained.

Everyone in the limo sighed, in relief.

On the bridge, the students were helping civilians when Leo ran towards his former team.

- "Sorry, I'm late. I was in such a rush, I went to the wrong bridge. You'll be happy to know all is well on the Norcal connector." He explained.

- "That's the last of the civilians." Logan said.

- "Get them off the bridge and set up the triage area." The Davenport boy ordered. "Chris, help anyone you can with your abilities until they are taken care of." The young Krane boy nodded. "Where's the limo?"

- "Over there." The older Krane boy pointed to the limo, rocking off the bridge.

In the meanwhile, in the limo, Donald turned on the news on the screen, showing the bridge accident.

- "Oh. Good idea, Dad. Turn on a good movie to take our minds off this tragic situation." Adam sighed.

Chase frowned at the adults. You created that?!

- "Ooh, looks like an action flick." The tall guy added.

- "That's not a movie, that's us!" The genius boy yelled.

- "Chase, I may not have super hearing anymore, but if you continue to yell in my ears, I'm gonna make you swallow your tongue." Maddie threatened.

The green hazel-eyed boy pulled his head backwards.

- "Why are you still so scary without your powers?" He frowned.

- "I told you, it's a gift." The alien girl shrugged.

Chase snickered.

- "It's not us. If this were real life, the car would move when I do this." The eldest teenager started to move around and the car jolted.

- "Whoa!" The genius boy yelled.

- "Okay, it's real, it's real!" Adam shouted, in panic.

- "If you move just one more time, I will throw you in the ocean myself, superpowers or not." The Matthews girl glared at him.

- "Got it." The tall guy gulped.

Leo, Taylor, and Logan were shown on the screen.

- "That's my boy." Maddie smiled.

- "That's Leo. He came to save us." Donald pressed a button above him. "Leo, can you hear me? Leo?"

- "Yes, Dad, I can hear you. We're coming to get you." The middle brother replied.

- "No. It's too unstable. I don't want you to get hurt." The father said. "Listen to me very carefully. We're locked in. See that silver shark fin on the rear windshield?"

- "I see it." Leo nodded.

- "That's the housing unit for the computer system." Donald explained. "I need you to find a way to disable it. Then it will release the locks, and we can climb out."

- "Got it!" The middle brother yelled.

- "They can do this. Right?" Bree asked.

- "What do you think? Our lives are in the hands of a newbie, a quitter, and a blind girl." Douglas sassed.

- "We can still hear you!" Leo yelled, offended.

- "And, boy, aren't we lucky?" The uncle smiled.

- "They can do this." The alien girl defended.

- "We gotta figure out a way to disable that computer system." The Krane boy said.

The bridge jolted, making the limo, slightly, rock.

- "Wait. Our EMP ability." The middle brother replied. "It disables any electrical charge. If we generate a sphere, then Logan can guide it to take out the limo's computer."

- "Yes!" The eldest Krane exclaimed.

- "Let's do it." Logan nodded. Taylor and Leo held hands while a sphere of energy was created in their hands. "Keep going."

The middle brother had a flashback of his friend getting hurt by the EMP, and he let go of her hand, stepping back.

- "What's the matter? Why'd you stop?" The eldest Krane asked.

- "I can't do this. What if I hurt you again?" Leo frowned. "What if I hurt them? I don't wanna ruin anyone else's life."

The Matthews girl frowned, sadly, as she heard on the screen.

The green hazel-eyed boy caressed her thigh, again.

- "Leo, you didn't ruin my life. It was an accident. And if I'm not gonna let it stop me from being a bionic hero, why should you?" Taylor said, softly. The car started to jolt again. "This is it, Leo. This is your chance to prove you're the leader I know you are. So... Are you in?" She extended her arm.

- "Yeah. I'm in." The middle brother took her hand.

- "Woohoo! Go Leo!" Maddie yelled.

Leo snickered as he heard his best friend. The eldest Krane turned her head slightly and dropped the middle brother's hand.

- "What's wrong?" He asked.

The bridge cable snapped.

- "Duck!" Taylor yelled as she made the boys fell on the floor with her as the bridge cable came right above them.

- "How'd you know that was gonna happen?" The middle brother asked.

- "I heard the sound wave of the cable when it snapped. Ever since I lost my sight, all of my other senses have increased." The eldest Krane explained.

- "Really?" The Krane boy frowned, happy and intrigued.

- "Hello!" The father yelled from inside the limo. "Sliding off a bridge over here!"

- "Hang on! We have a plan." Leo said.

- "You know, based on the last 40 times that he said that, I'd say we have, oh, a 10% chance of making it." Chase, sarcastically, smiled.

- "Chase, you're lucky we can't move." The alien girl glared at him as she moved his hand away from her thigh.

The genius boy frowned, sadly, already missing touching her.

- "Hey, hey, he came all the way out here to save us. Give the kid some credit." Donald replied. "12%."

The rest of the Davenports nodded.

- "Shut the fuck up, all of you! He came here to save us, not to be put down. Again!" The Matthews girl yelled. "Apologize. Now!"

- "Sorry, Leo." The five Davenports apologized.

- "Thanks, Dee!" The middle brother smiled. "Taylor, give me your hand." Taylor and Leo held hands again as they created a sphere in their hands. "Little more. Okay, Logan, on my cue. Aim the sphere at that silver fin."

- "Got it." Logan nodded.

- "Trust me. We got this." The middle brother said, making his friend nodded. "All right, Logan. Now!"

The Krane boy aimed the EMP towards the car, and disabled the silver fin on the window, unlocking the limo.

- "They did it." The father said.

- "Told you." Maddie smiled.

- "Let's get outta here." Donald added.

Everyone unbuckled their belts.

- "Yes!" The green hazel-eyed boy exclaimed.

- "Careful, guys, or we are gonna fall before we make it outside." The alien girl said.

- "She's right. Single file, people." Douglas added. "Me first." He tried to open his door.

The car, unsteadily, rocked.

- "Wait, wait, wait. Open the sunroof and Bree can super speed us out one by one." Chase explained.

- "Yeah." The Davenport girl nodded. The father opened the sunroof. "Let's go." She super speeded out Adam, then, Maddie, after Douglas, and finally, Donald.

The genius boy started to climb out and was knocked back into the limo by the jolts.

- "Chase!" The girls, simultaneously, yelled.

- "We have to go now." The eldest Krane said. "The whole bridge is about to go down."

- "I'll get Chase. You, guys, get everyone else out of here." Leo ordered.

- "But, Leo, we can..." The tall guy started.

- "There's no time! Go!" The middle brother shouted. The alien girl frowned. "I got him, Dee. I promise."

- "Fine." The Matthews girl, reluctantly, sighed.

- "Grab on!" Bree super speeded away everyone, but the youngest brothers.

Leo grabbed onto the back of the limo with his bionic arm. The green hazel-eyed boy started to climb out.

- "Leo, you have to let go, or it's gonna take you with it!" He yelled.

- "I'm not letting go. You are my brother and I made a promise!" The middle brother replied. Chase struggled to get out of the car, while Leo struggled to hold onto the limo as more jolts almost made them fall. "Give me your hand." They both struggle to grab hands as the limo was pulled lower towards the sea.

Maddie looked from afar, afraid as she felt adrenaline run through her veins. She took off her glasses, smirking, and flew under the limo, holding it up, allowing the brothers to, finally, be stable and locked hands.

The middle brother pulled the youngest onto the bridge, and the alien girl let the limo fall into the water below. The boys looked at the limo in the water as the Matthews girl, discreetly, landed behind them.

- "Wow! Leo, you did it. You saved my life." The green hazel-eyed boy said. "Sorry, I ever doubted you."

- "I'm just glad you're okay." Leo smiled.

They hugged.

- "Mads?" Chase frowned. "How did you get back here?"

- "I don't know." Maddie shrugged, smirking, before she levitated above the ground.

- "No way!" The genius boy smiled.

- "You have your powers back!" The middle brother exclaimed.

They, both, rushed to hug her.

- "I'm glad, you're both okay." The alien girl said.

After they pulled away, they glanced down into the water below.

- "Wait, there's someone floating in the water!" Leo yelled. The geniuses frowned. "Is that me?"

- "Oh, don't worry. That's just cardboard you." The green hazel-eyed boy explained. "Trust me, he wasn't worth saving."

The bridge jolted, and the brothers ran through the portal created by their best friend.

Later, the team changed into their mission suits and went to their award ceremony.

- "These individuals before you are the epitome of what a hero should be." The President started.

Itchy, itchy, itchy, itchy. Why didn't I wear underwear? Adam asked himself.

- "They are the most selfless, humble people that I know." The head of country continued.

My face is on every channel. Melissa Finnegan is so jealous right now. Bree smiled.

- "Because of their courageous actions, the world is a better place." The President added.

I'm gonna take your job. Chase bit his lower lip, excitedly. I'm gonna be president someday. This place will be mine. ALL MINE.

- "They show us every day that we can count on them." The head of the country told.

Mom would be so proud. Maddie smiled. If she was here, she would definitely cry.

- "Heroes come in all shapes and sizes, but the real way to measure a true hero is by their determination to never give up." The President smiled.

Everyone looked at Leo and applauded.

If I didn't have to go to the bathroom so badly, I might actually be enjoying this. He thought.

- "People of our nation, and our planet, are beyond grateful for the contributions that you five have made for our safety and well-being. There is no way we can repay you for all that you've done." The head of the country said.

- "Well, don't let that stop you from writing a big, fat check." The tall guy smiled, making everyone frown and look at him with wide eyes. "Did I just say that out loud?" He whispered to the four youngest, who nodded.

Oh, good. I didn't. He grinned.

Later, that day, the mentors were with the students in the training area.

- "I am so glad to have my powers back." Maddie smiled.

- "I'm gonna miss having you in my bed." Chase whispered on a volume only she could hear.

- "Who said we couldn't continue?" The alien girl replied at the same volume.

The genius boy grinned as he blushed, slightly.

- "Listen up, everybody." Donald walked in. "Someone very special is rejoining the team."

Leo walked in, wearing a mentor's uniform. Everyone clapped and cheered.

- "Whoa. I was expecting someone completely different." Adam said.

- "Not only is Leo back at the island, but because of his bravery and leadership on the bridge mission, I have officially made him a mentor." The father explained.

- "Yes!" The Matthews girl exclaimed and hugged him. "I'm so proud of you."

- "Thank you, Dee." The middle brother smiled.

The green hazel-eyed boy smiled softly.

Everyone applauded and cheered again.

Leo bro-hugged his older brother. Then, Bree hugged. Finally, Chase put his hand on his shoulder.

- "Couldn't be prouder of you, buddy." He pulled his brother in a tight embrace.

- "Congrats, Mr. Mentor." Taylor said. "And thanks."

- "For what?" The middle brother asked.

- "I didn't think I'd ever go on a mission again, Leo. But you changed all that." The eldest Krane explained.

- "I'm the one who should be thanking you. You showed me I really am a leader." Leo replied.

The two smiled and hugged.

The genius boy turned to the girl he loved and wiped the tears on her cheeks.

- "Thanks." Maddie chuckled.

- "I love you guys." Logan hugged his team.

- "I'm gonna try to not mock you anymore since you are a mentor." Alison said.

- "Yeah. Emphasis on the word 'try'." The middle brother chuckled, making her rolled her eyes, amused.

Douglas started to cry a couple feet away from them.

- "Are you crying?" The Davenport girl asked, in a mocking tone.

- "No! I'm just allergic to happiness." The uncle lied.

- "Come on, you old softie." Donald walked towards his brother. "Now, that everybody's safe, you can help me out of this girdle."

- "Oh! Oh, god." Douglas started to sob as they walked away.

The green hazel-eyed boy hoisted Leo onto his shoulder and everyone start chanting.

- "Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo, Leo!" They chanted.

Later, Leo sat on the platform next to his best friend as they watched the students put on music to celebrate.

- "So, can we talk about how your powers came back?" He smirked.

- "No." Maddie shook her head.

- "Oh, come on!" The Davenport boy frowned, amused. "Your powers came back because you saw Chase in danger."

- "Sssh." The Matthews girl whispered.

- "Chloe pulled him away to show him something." The brown-eyed boy shrugged.

The blue-eyed girl sighed, in relief.

- "According to the legend, Kryptonians' powers that didn't come back in a few hours are always brought back by the shot of adrenaline of seeing the person you love the most romantically in danger." Leo smirked.

- "I know that." Maddie rolled her eyes. "It's not new that I'm super in love with Chase."

- "I know, but I love the fact that he brought your powers back." The Davenport boy wrapped his arm around her shoulders. "It's very cute."

- "Are you done?" The Matthews girl asked.

- "Nope." The brown-eyed boy smiled. "I'm gonna annoy you until I die."

- "Maybe sooner than later." The blue-eyed girl smiled back.

Leo gasped, loudly.

- "How dare you?" He, dramatically, put the back of his hand on his forehead. "I'm outraged."

Maddie chuckled.

- "You are nuts." She said.

- "Just like you. That's why we make a great team." The Davenport boy replied.

- "Are you calling me nuts?" The Matthews girl frowned, amused.

- "Yes." The brown-eyed boy nodded.

- "And you admit it." The blue-eyed girl snickered.

- "It's the truth." Leo smiled.

Maddie rolled her eyes and she leaned her head on his shoulder.

- "I missed you, dumbass." She said.

- "I missed you, too, disappointment." The Davenport boy replied.
