Universe 124

Friday, 21st October 2016

Almost two weeks later, in the other universe, the day after the eldest's birthday, the four youngest of the team were in the living room, talking.

- "So, Ezra's parents say that I seemed like a nice guy and that as long as I make their son happy, they didn't have a problem." Oliver smiled.

- "That's great." Chase was petting his purring kitten.

- "Guys, I just got the best e-mail ever." Skylar ran down the stairs, excitedly. "My best friend Scarlett from my home planet Caldera just emailed me. She's coming to visit since yesterday was my birthday." She smiled widely.

- "Wait. Aliens have email?" The genius boy frowned as he raised his hand. Maxwell bit his thigh. "Ow. Okay, I'm not stopping." He resumed to pet him.

Bree chuckled.

- "Of course." The Calderan nodded. "I get so much spam from there. I mean, who really thinks a Calderan prince is just handing out millions of dollars?" She scoffed.

- "Can you forward that to me?" Kaz asked.

- "I'm so excited to see Scarlett. It'll be great not being the only alien around here." The Storm girl said.

- "We've been together so long, I don't think of you as an alien anymore, babe." The hybrid shrugged.

- "Aw, really?" Skylar smiled.

- "Yeah. To me, you're just a totally normal girl who does incredibly weird things, like M." The Davenport girl explained.

The green hazel-eyed boy chuckled.

- "So when does Scarlett get here?" He asked.

Suddenly, a portal opened and a girl, who looked exactly, like Skylar walked through it.

Chase shrieked, startling Maxwell, who hid under his flannel. Sorry, Max. He took the kitten out of under his shirt.

- "Well, at least we don't have to pick her up from the airport." He said, awkwardly.

- "Scarlett!" The Storm girl exclaimed.

- "Skylar!" Scarlett replied.

They hugged and Skylar lifted her off her feet as she spun her around a little.

- "Wait. Is this your best friend or your twin sister?" The genius boy frowned.

- "All females on Caldera look exactly alike." The Karev boy explained.

- "That is so weird." Bree looked at the doppelgängers as she got up. "Hi, I'm Bree." She extended.

- "Yes, the girlfriend." The best friend shook her hand. "Skylar talks about you all the time."

The green hazel-eyed boy smiled softly. Not surprised.

- "Oh really?" The hybrid smirked at her girlfriend.

- "Not all the time." The Storm girl defended as she blushed brightly.

- "Yes, you do." Scarlett nodded.

- "Okay, maybe a little." Skylar said softly.

The Davenport girl kissed her cheek.

- "You're cute." She whispered in her ear.

Chase smiled at the girls. I want what they have.

The Evers boy got up.

- "Hi. I'm Oliver. I'm her best friend here on Earth." He shook the alien best friend's hand. "I'm sure Skylar's told you all about me."

- "Nope. Never heard of you." Scarlett replied.

- "Alrighty then." The blue-eyed boy said.

Later, the four youngest were in the kitchen.

- "You know, I'm a superhero. Should I really have to make my own lunch?" Kaz asked, annoyed.

- "Probably not. You also shouldn't have to take out the trash, but you're doing it." Bree handed him a trash bag.

- "Actually, that's Oliver's job. Oliver, trash bag." The Karev boy threw it at his best friend.

- "On it!" Oliver grabbed him and used his super strength to squeeze it into a small trash man. "I am the Garbage Man!" He put his hand on his hips.

Chase chuckled as he put Maxwell down after he was done, eating.

The kitten walked to his bed in the living room.

- "Yeah, that doesn't sound as impressive as you think." The genius boy said.

- "Lunch is ready!" The hybrid put down a plate on the table.

- "It's always good." The brown-eyed boy told his best friend.

- "It's chicken." The Davenport girl replied.

The green hazel-eyed boy and the Evers boy helped put the rest of the plates on the table.

Scarlett sat down.

- "I'm starving." She said and opened her mouth to aspire all the food all at once. Everyone frowned at her, in disgust. "What's wrong? Oh, do I have something in my teeth?"

Skylar smiled, awkwardly.

Later, Chase was in Mission Command, working on something.

Since Mads isn't here, and I miss her, I'll make you have her personality, and you'll come with me to the symphony. He thought. But you will look nothing like her, because I can't handle that much.

- "Hey, Chase." Kaz walked in.

The genius boy threw the tools in his hands away and turned to his friend, awkwardly.

- "What ya doing?" The Karev boy smiled.

- "Uh, nothing. Just playing around with some machine parts. You know me, Mr. Techie." The green hazel-eyed boy chuckled. "You can go now." He pushed it towards the exit and turned back to the cyber desk.

The brown-eyed boy turned around.

- "What do we have here?" He picked up a robotic arm.

- "Hey!" Chase frowned and took it back. "Don't touch my lady hand."

- "What are you up to, you freaky little genius?" Kaz asked.

- "I'm not freaky." The genius boy defended. "I'm building a high-tech female android companion." He smiled.

- "Bro, that's the definition of freaky." The Karev boy replied. "Why are you doing this?"

I miss my best friend and the girl I'm in love with. The green hazel-eyed boy thought.

- "Science." He lied, making his friend frown. "I'm lonely." He sighed. "For years, I've wanted a cool, smart girl to hang out with. And for three years, I had Mads, but now, I don't. And for whatever reason, I can't seem to find another person, who wants to hang out with me."

- "Maybe it's because you spend too much time working on stuff like this." The brown-eyed boy pointed at the robot parts.

- "Hey, it'll be worth it. Her artificial intelligence is all set. I just have to assemble the parts, slide on her skin suit, and boom!" Chase exclaimed. "Dream girl!" He sang.

- "Again..." Kaz nodded. "Freaky." He sang as well.

- "There's nothing freaky about it." The genius boy frowned. "Now, make yourself useful and pass me her nose." He smiled.

The Karev boy raised his eyebrows and handed him the nose.

Later, Bree walked up to her girlfriend in the kitchen.

- "Hi, babe. What are you doing?" She asked. "Do you wanna go out and show Scarlett the city?"

- "I'm sorry. We already made plans." Skylar frowned. "But you're welcome to join us."

- "Oh, great. What are we doing?" The hybrid smiled.

- "Sanding down Scarlett's back scales." The Calderan smiled back.

- "Yeah, I'm gonna pass." The Davenport girl said.

- "Come on, baby. It'll be fun. I'll sand, you sweep. Just like getting your nails done." The Storm girl replied.

- "No. It's not." Bree shook her head and walked away. "I'm glad you don't have scales, though."

Skylar smiled softly and walked to her best friend on the terrace.

- "I get the feeling Bree doesn't like me." Scarlett said.

- "No. She's just not used to being around two people who look alike." The Storm girl replied. "And she may not like you."

- "Skylar, I have to ask. Why are you even here?" The best friend asked. "You should be back on Caldera with the rest of us."

- "I like it here." Skylar said.

- "Yeah, but you said yourself, they don't get aliens. Do you really wanna live on a planet where you're an outcast?" Scarlett frowned.

- "I'm not an outcast, and they get aliens, just not Calderans." The Storm girl defended. "As much as I miss you and everybody else back on Caldera, I'm part of a team here. They need me."

- "Okay. I get it. Well, I'm gonna go lay down." The best friend got up. "My stomach hurts. I think I ate too slow." She walked inside, before opening her watch. "She doesn't wanna return home. But don't worry. I know what to do."

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Chase was adjusting his robot's blonde hair.

Nothing like Mads. He smiled.

- "Still working on your little robot chick?" Kaz walked in. The genius boy turned the android around. She was blonde with brown hazel eyes and small curves. "Whoa. Who's that?"

- "Well, her real name is Cyborg 45172, but Christina seemed catchier." The green hazel-eyed boy grinned.

- "This is your android?" The Karev boy asked. "Where are all the bolts and wires?"

- "Hidden below the surface. After all, I was designed by the smartest man in the world." Christina explained. "And the most handsome." She smiled at her creator.

- "Oh, you." Chase smiled widely.

Mads wouldn't have said it like that, but I wanted her to have her personality traits, not BE her. He thought.

- "Will you excuse us?" The brown-eyed boy patted his friend's back.

- "If you'd like some privacy, I can withdraw my head into my body cavity." The android said.

The genius boy nodded.

- "No, that's all right. We'll just talk over there." Kaz replied. "Although I would really love to see that sometime." He pulled his friend away from the blonde. "Dude, she's beautiful. How could she possibly be into you?"

The green hazel-eyed frowned, offended. I'm just gonna ignore it.

- "Because I programmed her that way." He said and walked to his laptop on the cyber desk. "Look, I enter all her likes and dislikes into here, and it wirelessly transmits it to her virtual brain."

- "Oh, cool." The Karev boy chuckled.

- "I gotta go get dressed. For our first date, I'm taking her to the symphony." Chase smiled.

- "But she hasn't done anything wrong. Why are you punishing her?" The brown-eyed boy laughed.

- "Was that funny?" Christina frowned. "Am I supposed to laugh? I'm... I'm confused."

Kaz looked at his friend, offended.

The genius boy smiled.

- "She thinks your jokes are lame, just like I do. Isn't she great?" He walked away.

- "So, uh, what do you like to do for fun?" The Karev boy asked the android.

- "Whatever Maddie liked to do with Chase." She replied.

- "Oh, you poor girl." The brown-eyed boy said.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

In the meanwhile, Scarlett got off the couch.

- "Well, I should probably get going." She said.

- "What do you mean? You just got here." Skylar frowned.

- "I know, and I wish I could stay, but I have important business back on Caldera." The best friend explained. "Skylar, just come with me. It'll be like old times. You know you miss it."

- "I do, but I told you, I can't." The Storm girl replied.

- "Well, is there anything I can do to change your mind?" Scarlett asked.

- "No. I'm sorry, but my decision is final." Skylar said.

- "Oh. Well, then, I'm really sorry, too." The best friend replied.

- "For what?" The Storm girl frowned, amused.

- "For this." Scarlett used her powers to blast her old friend across the room, leaving her unconscious. "Mission accomplished." She said in her watch. "I'm bringing her home." She threw her over her shoulder and walked through a portal she opened.

Maxwell shuddered under his blanket as he watched the portal close.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Skylar woke up in a cell on Caldera.

- "Welcome home, Skylar." Scarlett appeared on a screen.

- "What? I'm on Caldera? Why'd you bring me here?" The Storm girl asked as she got up.

- "There's been a war between the old leadership, who believe we should use our powers to help others throughout the universe, and the opposition, who believe we should keep all Calderans here and only help ourselves." The villain explained.

- "So you brought me here to help you fight the opposition?" Skylar questioned.

- "No." Scarlett shook her head. "I am the opposition."

- "What?" The Storm girl frowned.

- "We control the planet now." The villain said.

- "And you think that you can just force me into joining your side?" Skylar scoffed.

- "You're a hero to our people. If you're off wasting your powers on Earth, it makes the opposition look bad. Your rightful place is here." Scarlett explained.

- "No, it's not." The Storm girl tried to use her powers, but nothing happened.

- "I knew you'd resist, so I put you in a cell that disables your powers." The villain said. "But you'll come around. We can be very convincing."

- "I will never join the opposition!" Skylar yelled.

Scarlett electrocuted her through the screen, knocking her out.

- "Like I said, we can be very convincing." She smirked.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Chase walked into Mission Command, wearing a black suit with a white shirt and dark blue tie.

Kaz and Christina were sitting on the high chairs with their feet on the chairs in front of them, while watching baseball with caps on backwards.

- "Oh!" They exclaimed.

- "Kaz, what are you doing?" The genius boy frowned.

- "Having wings with Chrissy." The Karev boy said.

- "Ranch me." The android added.

The brown-eyed boy extended the sauce and the blonde dipped her chicken wing in it.

- "No, no!" The green hazel-eyed boy yelled as Christina ate. "She's not programmed to eat."

- "I know. That's why we have the spit bucket." Kaz replied and put the bucket in front of him.

The what? Chase thought.

The android spat out the piece of chicken in the bucket.

- "Oh, yeah. From downtown." She laughed and high-fived him.

The genius boy frowned, in disgust. He grabbed his friend's arm and dragged him across the room.

- "Ow!" The Karev boy yelled.

- "Did you reprogram Christina to like you instead of me?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked.

- "Uh, let's see. Did you suddenly become a normal person who likes chicken wings and sports?" The brown-eyed boy replied.

- "No." Chase shook his head.

- "Then yes. Yes, I did." Kaz walked back to Christina and fist-bumped her.

The genius boy looked at his friend, in disbelief.

- "Listen, sorry. I just... I thought it was amazing that you could design a perfect girl, so in a way, me stealing her from you is a compliment." The Karev boy smiled.

- "You know what? I don't have time for this." The green hazel-eyed boy frowned. "Christina and I have to get to the symphony. Helmut von Jurgen is conducting tonight. Helmut von Jurgen!" He yelled.

- "Ugh." The android groaned. "I don't wanna go to that. I'd rather you just turned me off."

The brown-eyed boy laughed.

- "Oh, that's it. I'm reprogramming her back to the way she was." Chase grabbed his laptop.

- "No, you can't." Kaz ran towards him.

They started to fight over the laptop.

The genius boy frowned. Oh, come on!

The Karev boy won.

- "Run, Chrissy." He pushed a button and the rock wall opened.

The blonde got up and ran to it.

- "Wait." She turned around.

- "Did you change your mind?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked, hopeful.

- "Nope. Mama needs her wings." Christina grabbed the bucket of chicken wings and ran out.

- "I love her." The brown-eyed boy followed her with the laptop.

Chase looked at them run, angrily. I just wanted someone to hang out with me at the concert Mads wanted us to go. He ran after them.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Oliver ran to the terrace.

- "Bree, I need your help." He said, breathless.

- "Sure." Bree nodded.

- "Skylar left for good." The Evers boy replied.

- "What?" The hybrid frowned.

- "There's a video message. Come on." The blue-eyed boy added.

The Davenport girl got up, worried, and followed him inside.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few seconds later, the two were looking at the message video in Mission Command.

- "Hey, guys." Skylar sighed. "I know this will be a surprise, but I've decided to return home with Scarlett and live on Caldera. I'll miss you all, but you have to understand that this is what's best for me. I wanted to say goodbye in person, but it was just too hard. I'm sorry."

- "How could she just leave like that?" Bree asked with tears in her eyes.

- "I know. I always imagined if she went home, she'd wave to me from the deck of a cruise ship as she slowly pulled out of port." Oliver said.

- "Why would she be on a cruise ship if she's going to another planet?" The hybrid asked.

- "'Cause she's Skylar, and she likes boats." The Evers boy replied. "But something's off. It just doesn't seem like something she would do. Mostly to you."

- "Yeah. You're right." The Davenport girl frowned. "She wouldn't just abandon me or the team like that. We should check the video again."

The blue-eyed boy pressed play.

- "Hey, guys." The Calderan started, but Oliver paused it.

- "There. The time code says 1:35, but I saw Skylar and Scarlett at 2:00, and she didn't say anything about leaving. And all of her stuff is still up in her room." He said.

- "You went in our room?" Bree raised her eyebrows.

- "I just wanted to check if it was true." The Evers boy defended.

- "You know, call me crazy, but isn't it a weird coincidence that one of Skylar's friends from Caldera shows up, and then, all of a sudden, she just decides to leave without warning." The hybrid said.

- "You think Scarlett took her?" The blue-eyed boy frowned.

- "I don't know. But what I do know is that she loves us and sees us as her family, and there is no way she should leave us." The Davenport girl explained. "There's only one way to find out."

- "We could use my wormhole transporter. If I set it to Caldera, we can be there in seconds." Oliver took from under the console his Mighty Med box.

- "I'll call Chase." Bree took out her phone. His phone buzzed on the cyber desk. "Great. He left his phone here. If Mads was still here, he would keep it with him, just in case she texts him." She rolled her eyes. "Call Kaz."

The Evers boy called his childhood best friend, but his phone rang in the room.

- "He left it here, too." He sighed.

- "Idiots." The hybrid shook her head.

- "We don't have time to wait for them. We should go." The blue-eyed boy handed her a patch. "Here. Put this on."

- "What is it?" The Davenport girl asked.

- "It's an atmospheric regulator patch. They even out body temperatures in extreme climates." Oliver explained as they both put the patches on. "Oh, but just a heads-up. Side effects may include drowsiness, nausea, and sudden death. Shall we do this?" He extended his arm.

- "Okay." Bree took his arm. They arrived on the red planet. "Great. We landed in the middle of nowhere."

- "Actually, the whole planet looks like this. We're downtown." The Evers boy said.

Several Calderan walked past them.

- "Okay, that is so strange." The hybrid snickered. "We do not talk to anyone till we know what's going on."

- "Don't worry. Calderans are very friendly." The blue-eyed boy replied.

- "Yeah, this place seems real inviting, especially those sacrificial lava pits." The Davenport girl chuckled. "Okay, let's just find Skylar, and get out of here."

- "Trust me. I know exactly how to find her." Oliver said. "Skylar?" He asked a woman, who walked by. "Skylar?" He turned to another. "Skylar!" He exclaimed to another.

Bree looked at him, in despair.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Chase ran in the penthouse without the jacket of his suit, carrying Christina on his shoulder.

- "Chase, this is ridiculous." Kaz followed him with the laptop, before putting it down.

The genius boy, gently, sat her down on one of the chairs.

- "Why are we fighting over Christina?" The Karev boy asked.

- "Because she's mine." The green hazel-eyed boy replied, irritated.

Thank God, she's an android, otherwise Mads would hit me. He thought, amused.

- "I like Kaz." The android said.

- "Quiet..." Chase glared at her. "Honey Bear." He put his hand on her shoulder and smiled gently.

- "No offense, Chase, but even if she could think for herself, like a human, I guarantee she would still pick me over you." The brown-eyed boy added.

- "Oh? Oh, yeah?" The genius boy raised his eyebrows. "Well, let's turn on her sentient setting and find out. That way, she can form her own opinions without us having to program them." He started to type on the laptop.

- "Okay." Kaz nodded.

- "I like Kaz." The blonde said.

- "Heard you the first time!" The green hazel-eyed boy shouted. The Karev boy walked towards her and smiled as she looked up at him in awe. "There. That should do it. All of her personality traits have been erased. She's a clean slate. So, Christina, who do you like best, me or the guy who didn't create you?"

Christina looked at the brown-eyed boy, who smiled.

She, then, turned to Chase, who smiled as he, quickly, raised one eyebrow.

The android turned to Kaz, who put his hand on his chin.

She turned to the genius boy, who, quickly, caressed his chin as he bit his lower lip, before looking at her eyes.

- "I chooooose..." She started to malfunction, before her head dropped as she stopped working.

The green hazel-eyed boy frowned. What the...

- "What happened?" The Karev boy asked.

- "I don't know." Chase typed on the laptop. "Christina. I just have to get to her CPU." He went to her back and opened a small door. "It could be a short circuit, or a hardware malfunction or..." He frowned, annoyed, before pulling his hand, revealing all over it. "Buffalo sauce." He glared at his friend.

- "That's my girl." The brown-eyed boy chuckled, before dipping the sauce on the genius boy's hand and eating it.

The green hazel-eyed boy frowned, in disgust.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, the two were still on Caldera.

- "Skylar?" Oliver asked a Calderan. "Skylar?" He smiled at another alien. "Okay, this isn't working. That was the 86th Skylar who isn't Skylar. Although I did meet a Betty who was pretty nice."

- "You." Scarlett walked up to them.

- "Skylar?" The Evers boy questioned.

- "No." The villain said.

- "Betty?" The blue-eyed boy smiled.

- "No." Scarlett frowned.

- "It's Scarlett." Bree replied.

Oliver shuddered in fear and took a step back.

- "How did you get here?" The villain asked.

- "That is none of your business." The hybrid retorted.

- "With this wormhole transporter." The Evers boy showed it. Scarlett blasted it, destroying it on the ground. "With that wormhole transporter." He pointed to the ground.

- "Where's Skylar?" The Davenport girl questioned.

- "Locked up in a subterranean cell." The villain explained. "But don't worry. You'll be joining your girlfriend soon enough."

- "We're not going anywhere with you." Bree said.

- "Oh, yes, you are." Scarlett created a ball of energy.

The hybrid created a proton ring.

- "Is that a proton ring? That's not bionic; that's a superpower." The blue-eyed boy frowned.

- "You have superpowers?" The villain asked.

- "You have superpowers?!" Oliver yelled.

- "Long story. We'll talk later." The Davenport girl replied. She threw the proton ring at Scarlett, sending her fly far away. "Come on. Let's go find Skylar."

- "Hey, which way to the subterranean cells?" The Evers boy asked a Calderan, who pointed to a direction. "Thanks, Betty. You're one in a million."

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of minutes later, Oliver arrived in front of Skylar, who was still locked up.

- "Skylar. Bree, she's in here!" He yelled and walked up to the cell, which slightly electrocuted him. "Whoa."

Bree rushed to them.

- "I'm so glad to see you guys." The Storm girl said.

- "Wait. How do we know it's really her?" The hybrid asked.

- "I know. Kiss me." The Evers boy replied.

- "Never." Skylar frowned, in disgust.

The Davenport girl chuckled.

- "It is her." The blue-eyed boy smiled.

- "Babe, are you okay?" Bree asked.

- "I'm fine." The Storm girl nodded. "How did you guys know I was here?"

- "Scarlett left a goodbye message pretending to be you." Oliver explained.

- "And she thought that would work? She looks nothing like me." Skylar scoffed.

The two humans frowned at each other.

- "Let's just get you out of here." The hybrid said.

- "Get away from her!" Scarlett appeared on the screen in the cell.

- "We're not leaving without Skylar." The Davenport girl replied.

- "You humans think you can do whatever you want. But you're on Caldera now." The villain said.

- "If you're so tough, why don't you get out here and fight us face to face?" Bree asked.

- "Because I don't have to." Scarlett smirked as she cut the transmission.

Loud rumbling was heard.

- "What's that noise?" The Evers boy questioned.

- "I have no idea." The hybrid said.

The ground cracked towards them, before sending them fly across the room.

- "No! Bree! Oliver!" The Storm girl shouted.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

In the meanwhile, Chase had changed into his normal clothes.

He was still working on Christina.

- "Okay. So, I was able to get out most of the buffalo sauce and blue cheese." He explained as he wiped his hands.

- "Oh, actually, it's ranch." Kaz corrected. "Chrissy hates blue cheese." He giggled.

The genius boy rolled his eyes.
