Universe 38

Friday, 29th January 2016

In the meanwhile, a woman walked up to her director and his right hand.

He was a 6'0 black man with dark brown eyes and black hair.

She was a 5'6 white woman with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair that were cut right at her chin.

- "Sir, we detected an abnormality." She explained. "Something entered the atmosphere and crashed in the desert."

- "Do we know what it is?" The right hand asked.

- "No." The shorter woman replied, before returning to her work station.

- "I'll send her to check it out." The director pressed on his spy earpiece. "Supergirl, something crashed into the desert near Los Angeles and by the time, we arrive it could be gone. I want you to go there and bring it back."

- "Yes, boss." Supergirl said.

- "What do you think it is, Hank?" The woman questioned.

- "Nothing good, Alex." Hank shook his head.

A couple of seconds later, Supergirl arrived in a desert near Los Angeles.

She was a 5'8 white woman with long blonde hair and blue eyes. She was wearing red knee-high boots, tights, a red skirt and cape, and a dark blue bodysuit with a large 'S' logo on her chest.

She landed and saw a teenage girl, in a dark gray suit, laying on the ground, unconscious.

- "It's a kid." She frowned as she said to her boss.

- "A kid?" Hank replied.

- "Yeah, sixteen, seventeen." Supergirl said.

- "Bring her in." The director ordered.

- "On it." Supergirl took the broken glasses next to the teenager and put them back on her face.

She put her arms around her back and under her knees, before flying away.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of seconds later, Supergirl entered the D.E.O. It was in a cave near National City.

- "In the infirmary." Alex said. The blonde walked inside the infirmary and laid the teenager on a gurney, before putting the broken glasses aside. The brunette started to examine her. "She doesn't even have a scratch."

- "What do you think she is?" Supergirl asked.

- "We don't know, yet." Hank walked in. "She could be many things."

Alex took off the teenager's jacket, leaving her in a black tank top. She connected her to a heart monitor.

- "Her vitals are normal. Breathing is normal." She, then, tried to put a needle in her arm, but it broke. "But she definitely isn't human."

- "She could be dangerous." The director added.

- "Or perfectly innocent." The blonde defended.

- "We don't know that, Kara. She is as innocent as she is dangerous." Hank replied.

The teenager woke up and gasped as she sat up. She looked at her lap and started to breathe heavily.

- "Hey, it's okay." Supergirl put her hand on her back. "You're safe."

The teenager could not hear her as her heart was beating in her ears.

- "She's having a panic attack." The brunette said.

- "What can we do?" The blonde asked.

- "We need to make her breath." Alex replied and made the teenager look at her. "Breathe. In and out." The teenager followed what she said, her breathing slowly coming back to normal. "That's it. In and out."

- "Thanks." The teenager whispered.

- "Who are you?" The director asked. "And what are you?"

The teenager finally looked at the three people in the room and her eyes widened.

- "What the..." She frowned.

- "Are you okay?" Supergirl questioned.

- "I'm fine." The teenager, hesitantly, said.

- "Where are you from?" Hank asked.

- "That's a long story." The teenager replied.

- "You are not getting out of here, until I know why you crashed on Earth." The director, firmly, crossed his arms.

- "I'm not from here." The teenager said.

- "Yes, we know." The brunette showed the broken needle.

- "I'm Maddison Matthews, I'm sixteen, and I'm from another universe." The latter explained.

- "What?" Supergirl frowned.

- "The multiverse exist?" Alex asked, in awe.

- "Yes and in my universe, you, guys, are fictional characters. So, I'm kinda freaking out right now." The quadbrid said.

- "We are?" Hank frowned.

- "Yes. Your names are in comic books, movies. But your faces are in a new TV show." The Matthews girl explained.

- "Prove it." The eldest woman said.

- "Fine. But I also read minds, well, beside Kara's." Maddie replied.

- "She knows my name." Kara's eyes widened.

- "Okay, so we have Kara Danvers, born Zor-El, aka Supergirl. Cousin of Clark Kent, born Kal-El, aka Superman. Alexandra Danvers, aka Alex." The quadbrid started. "J'onn J'onzz, aka Hank Henshaw. But I won't tell anyone, don't worry." She whispered.

The three adults looked at her with wide eyes.

- "That's creepy." The younger Danvers said.

- "Sorry." The Matthews girl sighed.

- "How did you arrive here?" J'onn asked.

- "I was aspired by a wormhole when I saved my family." Maddie explained. "The wormhole was getting bigger and was trying to aspire our spacecraft, so I let it take me to save them."

- "I'm sorry." The Kryptonian frowned.

- "So, what are you?" Alex asked.

- "Long story short, I'm half Kryptonian and half Daxamite." The quadbrid started.

- "How is that even possible? Kryptonians and Daxamites hated each other." Kara frowned.

- "Daxamites?" The older Danvers asked.

- "They are from Daxam. It's a sister world to Krypton. Both capable of sustaining life, both orbiting the same sun." The J'onzz man explained.

- "You've never mentioned it before." Alex said to her sister.

- "Do the Hatfield's mention the McCoy's?" The younger Danvers replied.

- "I take it your planets didn't get along." The older Danvers smiled.

- "Hundreds of years ago, Krypton and Daxam fought a bloody war to a stalemate. Thousands of lives were lost on both sides because of a pointless war Daxam started." The Kryptonian woman.

- "What were they fighting about?" The Matthews girl asked.

- "You don't know?" Kara frowned.

- "No. I'm half Daxamite and half Kryptonian, but I lived two months on Daxam, before my birth mother gave me up to Krees." Maddie sighed.

- "Krees?" Alex frowned.

- "They are probably the most evil species ever born. Legends said they were from another universe, but no one ever had proofs." J'onn started. "They travelled into several universes to kidnap aliens and humans. They were trying torturing the aliens to try to make out of the humans powerful weapons."

- "But when it didn't work, the king Kree ordered to kill everyone, which they did." The quadbrid sighed. "My adoptive mom, who was also a Kree, but she wasn't with them. Her family were rebels. She saved me. She wanted to save everyone, but she arrived too late. So she took me, and we are aspired by a wormhole that send us into another universe in the future. So I was in this universe, but I lived for five years on a Kree ship, being tortured, and I grew up on Earth in another universe."

- "How are you able to read minds?" The J'onzz man asked.

- "My mom made the ship explode and when it did, all the powers of the dead aliens there turned into radiations, which I accidentally took some in. So by blood, I'm half Kryptonian and half Daxamite, but I also have a couple powers from Calderians, a species from the universe I grew up in. And a couple powers from... Green Martians." The Matthews girl explained.

J'onn looked at her, intrigued.

- "You are a quadbrid?" The older Danvers frowned.

- "Yes." Maddie nodded.

- "So, you don't know anything about Daxam and Krypton?" The younger Danvers questioned.

- "I know things from the comics and the movies, but everything is different. And your TV show started a couple of months ago, so there is still a lot to learn." The quadbrid said. "How were Daxam and Krypton, please?"

- "Krypton was a democracy. A world of explorers, philosophers, scientists, and Daxam, was a monarchy. With kings and queens who ruled a population of hoodlums." The Kryptonian explained.

- "I'm glad I didn't grow up there." The Matthews girl snickered.

- "We had a saying on Krypton for Daxamites, 'May tex kolar Daxam'." Kara said.

- "And that means..." Alex frowned.

- "Nothing I can repeat in English." The younger Danvers replied.

- "Definitely not." Maddie shook her head.

- "You know Kryptonian?" The Kryptonian frowned.

- "I'm part Green Martian, so I speak and understand every language ever existed on every planet." The quadbrid explained.

- "That's so cool." Kara smiled.

- "You can do that?" The older Danvers turned to her boss.

- "And many other things." The J'onzz man replied. "Which powers you have from my species?"

- "Telekinesis, telepathy, psychic translation, vacuum adaption, mental shield." The Matthews girl said. "That's all I know."

- "Alright." J'onn nodded.

- "How many powers do you have?" Alex asked.

- "Forty-seven." Maddie replied.

- "Wow." The younger Danvers looked at her with wide eyes.

- "I can't believe I'm in another universe." The quadbrid sighed.

- "I get what you are feeling." The Kryptonian sat on the edge of the gurney.

- "I know, you do." The Matthews girl said. "It's just that... I don't regret sacrificing myself for them. But I already lost my mom over two years ago and now, them." She looked at her hands with tears in her eyes. "I lost everything and everyone."

The adults looked at her, sadly.

- "Hey." Kara took her hands. "It's okay. You're gonna be okay. I know that doesn't change that you've lost, but we are here for you, now."

- "Thank you." Maddie wiped her tears. She noticed that she still has her ring. "At least, I have that."

- "What is it?" The older Danvers asked.

The quadbrid pressed her right thumb on the ring and a photo appeared. She swiped through them.

- "It's my family." She smiled sadly.

- "I know them." The younger Danvers said.

- "You do?" The Matthews girl frowned as she turned off her ring.

- "They are from a TV show I watch called 'Lab Rats'." The Kryptonian replied. "Their last name is Davenport?"

- "Oh my god, yes." Maddie nodded. "So, they are fictional characters here? Great."

- "You're gonna stay at the D.E.O. until we can test your powers." The J'onzz man said.

- "I understand." The quadbrid replied. "And don't worry, J'onn. I know that I will have to earn your trust, but I can promise you that I won't say anything about your real identity."

J'onn nodded as he walked out.

- "So, you are a superhero?" Alex asked.

- "Yeah." The Matthews girl nodded.

- "I'll help you adapt to your new life." Kara smiled softly.

- "Thank you." Maddie smiled sadly. "It's weird to be in front of you, you're my favorite superhero."

- "Really?" The younger Danvers asked, happily.

- "Don't let go to your head, Kara." The older Danvers snickered.

- "Who? Me?" The Kryptonian scoffed. "That's not my type."

Alex, sarcastically, nodded at the quadbrid, who chuckled.

- "Oooh, and when you can get out of here, I'll present you to Winn. He'll make you a new suit." Kara said.

- "I don't know if I want to be a superhero again." The Matthews girl sighed.

- "You have to stay yourself. You can't give up on who you are." The younger Danvers frowned. "If you became a hero, it's because it's who you were supposed to become."

- "I know, but I became a superhero with Adam, Bree, and Chase. I came to all of their missions. The first eleven months, I was going invisible to protect them. Then, after my mom died, Tasha and Donnie took me in, and I stop using my invisibility. I became a superhero FOR them." Maddie explained.

- "So, you became a superhero from them, like Kara became Supergirl for me?" The older Danvers, rhetorically, asked. "It seems like you were born to be a protector."

- "Yeah." The quadbrid snickered. "You are both right."

The sisters smiled.

Later, the two older aliens were watching Alex test the powers of the youngest, who was standing in front of cinder blocks.

- "I was you to punch them as hard as you can." The older Danvers said.

- "Got it." Maddie punched the blocks, destroying them.

- "Wow, she's stronger than Kara." Alex replied.

- "Really?" Kara frowned.

- "Impressive." J'onn nodded.

- "Thanks." The quadbrid smiled softly.

- "Now, your sonic scream." The older Danvers said.

The Matthews girl's smile dropped.

- "What's wrong?" The younger Danvers asked.

- "I never use it." Maddie said.

- "Why not?" The J'onzz man frowned.

- "Because the last time I used it, my mother was murdered in front of me and my sonic scream accidentally activated, and I killed her four killers." The quadbrid explained as she looked at the ground to avoid tears from falling.

- "Aw, Maddie..." The Kryptonian put her hand on her shoulder. "It sound it was an accident."

- "Who were they?" The director asked.

- "Krees who found us." The Matthews girl sighed. "They wanted to bring my mom's body to their king and use me as their weapon."

- "Thn you shouldn't feel guilty, you did what you needed to do to survive." Alex said. "Anyone would have lost control if they saw their parents being killed in front of them."

- "But I can't lose control." Maddie replied.

- "Did it happen again?" J'onn questioned.

- "No, it was the only time since I was six." The quadbrid shook her head.

- "So, it was a onetime thing, it happens, Maddie. You can't let that stop you from using this power." Kara said.

The Matthews girl nodded.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, after the trio had test most of her superpowers, Maddie was in a training room full of Kryptonite. She was wearing the D.E.O. sport clothes.

- "This should allow us to test your fighting skills without your powers." J'onn said.

- "There is a small problem, though." The quadbrid replied.

- "What?" Kara frowned.

- "I don't think the Kryptonite has any effect on me. I feel fine." The Matthews girl shrugged.

- "This must be due to your DNA. Since you are half Daxamite, it must cancel the weakness from your Kryptonian side." Alex explained.

- "And I already was shot at, so I know that, like every Daxamite, I'm not allergic to lead." Maddie replied.

- "Because your Kryptonian DNA cancel it." The older Danvers added.

- "So, you don't have any weaknesses?" The younger Danvers asked.

- "Not that I know of." The quadbrid shrugged. "But I know how to fight without my powers. I spar with humans, I didn't want to hurt them. And I am..." She sighed. "Was a mentor for the bionic students, so I don't need Kryptonite."

- "Okay, let's go." Alex smirked and got into a fighting stance.

The Matthews girl nodded and did the same.

- "Let's see what you've got." The director crossed his arms.

The older Danvers tried to punch Maddie, who ducked. She walked behind Alex, wrapping her arms around her neck. The older Danvers threw her over her, but the quadbrid landed on her feet.

The Kryptonian smiled.

- "Nice one." Alex said.

- "Thanks." The Matthews girl replied as she swept her off her feet.

The older Danvers got up and tried to punch Maddie, who blocked her fist, before twisting it. She rolled to the floor, after she wrapped her legs around Alex's neck, throwing her to the ground with her.

- "Wow." Kara's eyes widened.

The quadbrid let go of the older Danvers and got up, extending his hand. Alex took it and pulled her lower, before putting her foot on her stomach to throw behind her. The older Danvers got up, smirking.

- "Impressive for a sixteen years old." She smiled and extended her hand to the Matthews girl.

- "Thanks." She snickered as she got up.

- "She's right, Miss Matthews. This is very impressive. You managed to throw my best agent on the ground. Nobody here, aside from me, has ever been able to." J'onn said.

- "Please, call me Maddie." The latter replied.

- "Alright, Maddie." The J'onzz man corrected. "We are done for today. You can get some rest in the dormitory."

- "Thank you." Maddie nodded.

The director walked away.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Maddie was walking through the D.E.O., exploring.

- "What are you doing here?" J'onn asked.

- "Sorry, I was just looking around. It's so similar, yet so different from my TV." The quadbrid smiled.

- "I understand, but you are not an agent of the D.E.O., you cannot wander around without being accompanied." The J'onzz man said.

- "Okay." The Matthews girl nodded. "I'm just gonna go to the infirmary." She started to walk away.

The Green Martian sighed.

- "Wait." He stopped her. Maddie turned around. "I will give you a small tour." He, softly, said.

- "Really? That would be so cool." The quadbrid smiled.

- "Come on." J'onn started to walk away.

The Matthews girl ran to him, before slowing down to walk by his side.

- "Thank you." She replied.

Saturday, 30th January 2016

The next morning, Maddie put on the D.E.O. change of clothes. She walked up to the trio.

- "Hey." She said.

- "Kara vouched for you, you can get out of the D.E.O." J'onn explained.

- "Really?" The quadbrid asked.

- "Yes." Kara smiled. "We are gonna have lunch outside. I'm gonna show you my favorite spots in the city. We're gonna buy you clothes. I can introduce you to Winn and James if you'd like." She led the Matthews girl out.

- "Clothes? No." She shook her head. "I can't ask you to do that, Kara."

- "You're not asking. I'm offering." The Danvers woman smiled. "I want to help you like the Danvers helped me. I was sent to Earth to protect and teach my cousin, and I couldn't. So, let me help you."

- "Okay." Maddie nodded. "Thank you." She smiled softly.

- "You're welcome." The Kryptonian replied. "Come on." They walked out of the D.E.O. "Do you like croissants?"

- "Yes! You have no idea how much." The quadbrid said.

- "I know a place." Kara smiled.

- "Okay." The Matthews girl nodded.

The two aliens smiled.

- "Follow me." The Danvers woman flew in the sky.

Maddie followed her.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of minutes later, Kara was wearing her glasses and normal clothes. Maddie was still wearing regular black clothes of the D.E.O. and her glasses that the D.E.O. had fixed.

- "Okay, now, that we have our croissants. We need to buy you clothes." The Kryptonian said. "Here."

The two aliens entered a store.

The quadbrid looked around.

- "What are you thinking?" The Danvers woman asked.

- "I always wanted to wear a certain type of clothes when I'm older, which I am, and since I have to redo my wardrobe anyway..." The Matthews girl started.

- "You want to do it, now." Kara smiled.

- "Yeah." Maddie nodded.

- "Then go for it, Maddie." The Kryptonian girl took her hand and led her towards an aisle.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A couple of minutes later, Kara was wanting for Maddie to come out of the changing room.

- "Come on, show me." The Kryptonian girl said.

The quadbrid walked out of the changing room. She was wearing a red bodysuit with spaghetti straps and a plunging neckline. She also had a black skirt that stopped mid-thigh with thin black tights and black high-heels boots.

- "Wow!" The Danvers woman exclaimed.

- "You like it?" The Matthews girl asked.

- "Yes, it's very pretty." Kara said.

- "Thanks. I really love it." Maddie looked at herself in the mirror.

- "So, you always wanted to wear clothes like this?" The Kryptonian stood next to her.

- "Sexy? Yeah. I don't why." The quadbrid shrugged. "I just really love it."

- "Then, you have found your style." The Danvers woman smiled. "Come on, show me the others." She sat down.

- "Alright." The Matthews girl walked back into the changing room.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, after the shopping, the two aliens flew to Kara's apartment to put down the bags. Now, they were walking into CatCo.

- "Wow!" Maddie exclaimed as she looked around.

- "I know." Kara smiled. "But we are going somewhere else."

- "Super friends' quarters?" The quadbrid asked.

- "Yes." The Kryptonian snickered. She opened the door of the secret office. "Welcome."

- "Wow, Kara, who's that?" A 5'9 white man with short dark brown hair and green eyes asked, in worry. "Why did you bring her here?"

A 6'3 bald black man with black eyes was standing next to him, frowning.

- "Guys, this is Maddie." The Danvers woman started. "Maddie, this is... You already know their names."

- "Yes. James Olsen aka Jimmy to Clark and Winslow Schott Junior aka Winn." The Matthews girl said.

- "How?" James asked.

- "I'm from another universe where you are fictional characters." Maddie replied. "And I read minds. But only when I first meet someone, not all the time, so don't worry."

- "Cool!" Winn laughed. "Whoa! Whoa! So the, the theory of the multiverse, that's true?"

- "Yep." The quadbrid nodded.

- "And she's from the same universe as 'Lab rats'." Kara added.

- "Wow!" The Schott man exclaimed. "I have so many questions."

- "Bring it." The Matthews girl smiled.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, the two aliens were walking towards the elevator to leave the building.

- "Ker-rah!" A voice shouted far afar.

- "Give me two seconds." Kara said to the younger girl, before walking away. Maddie followed her, but stayed behind. "Yes, Mrs. Grant?"

The famous Queen of media, Cat Grant. The quadbrid smiled.

- "Where were you?" Cat asked.

- "I took a personal day." The Kryptonian replied.

- "Then, what are you doing here?" The Grant woman frowned.

- "I was..." The Danvers woman looked around until she spotted the youngest. "Coming to show CatCo to Maddie."

- "Who is she?" The queen of media questioned.

- "She is..." Kara paused.

You need to save her, Maddie. The Matthews girl thought.

- "My mom was a family's friend." She walked up to them. "It's such a pleasure to meet you, Mrs. Grant. I'm a big fan."

- "Isn't everybody?" Cat turned around to face the screens behind her desk.

- "Thank you." The Kryptonian mouthed to the youngest.

- "So, why are you showing her around?" The Grant woman asked.

- "Because I'm trying to figure out what to do with my life, so Kara suggested to show me CatCo. This place is really amazing." Maddie said.

- "'Figure out what to do with your life'? You are a child. You should be in high school." The queen of media got up.

- "Technically, yes, but last year, I finished high school and got ten masters." The quadbrid explained.

Kara looked at her, impressed.

- "How old are you?" Cat frowned.

- "I'm sixteen." The Matthews girl said.

- "This is very impressive." The Grant woman replied. "Did you got the answers you were looking for?"

- "I did." Maddie nodded.

- "And?" The queen of media raised her eyebrows.

The quadbrid looked at her friend, who nodded.

- "I want to apply for a job here." She said.

- "Ker-rah, get me her resume. I want it on my desk, first thing in the morning." Cat sat at her desk.

- "Of course." The Kryptonian nodded.

- "Now, shoo." The Grant woman replied.

- "Thank you, Mrs. Grant." The Matthews girl smiled softly.

The queen of media nodded as she typed on her computer as the aliens walked out of her office.

- "I didn't know you had ten masters." The Danvers woman said.

- "We met yesterday, Kara. It's normal." Maddie replied.

- "Well, Mrs. Grant likes you." Kara smiled softly.

- "Are you sure I should work here?" The quadbrid asked.

- "Yes. It would give you a sense of normal life. You can meet people." The Kryptonian explained.

- "Who are older than i." The Matthews girl snickered.

- "The interns are almost all in college. So, they are closer to your age." Kara said.

- "Is J'onn gonna let me?" Maddie asked.

- "He will." The Kryptonian nodded. "We just need to make you false documents."

- "Right." The quadbrid replied.

- "Welcome to this Earth, Maddie." The Danvers woman smiled. "I'll help you look for an apartment."

- "Thank you, Kara." The Matthews girl smiled back.

The two aliens walked in the elevator.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, Maddie was laying in her bed at the D.E.O.'s dormitory.

Day two. She sighed as she wrapped herself in the sheets. I miss them so much. She cried, silently, as agents were sleeping in the room.
