The next day, a fire was growing in a building. A man had an accident and drove his car into the hydrant, destroying, so making it impossible for the firefighters to extinguish the fire.
- "I hope to God they show up." Xandar said. "Even better." He smiled when he saw the three heroes flying towards them.
- "Do you want to do the honors?" Supergirl asked.
- "Eh." Superman shrugged. "I got to look cool last time. I'll handle the cloud. You two give 'em what they need."
The women chuckled and each flew were they were needed.
The women blew their freeze breath on the fire as the Kent man flew in a circle creating a cloud.
Everyone clapped as the rain and the freeze breaths extinguish the fire.
- "Does this ever get old?" The Danvers woman asked.
- "For now, no." GreatGirl shook her head.
- "If it does, I will let you know." The Kryptonian man said. They heard an alarm blaring. "That's our cue."
They flew towards the sound. A man ran out of a bank with a bag of money, before jumping in the car with his partner.
The car drove straight on the Matthews girl.
- "What's the hurry?" She asked.
The driver looked at her with wide eyes and drove backwards, crashing against the cousins.
- "Oh, uh... I'm with her." The Kryptonian woman said.
- "Uh, I think I may have scratched your bumper here." Superman added. The two men got out of the car and started, shooting at the trio. They emptied their guns on them and one of the guys punch the Kent man, who lifted him with the shirt. "See, now If the bullets don't work, right, why the punching?" He let him fall to the ground. "I just never understood that."
The quadbrid pushed the other into a bush, after Supergirl punched him.
- "I'm having a really good day." She smiled.
- "Me, too." The Kryptonian man nodded.
- "When you three are done showboating, there's a renegade Kigori in Riverside Park." J'onn said.
- "We're on it, Hank." The Danvers woman replied.
The trio flew away.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, Alex walked into the D.E.O. with a squad of armed agents.
- "Let's move." She ordered, before seeing the trio. "Supergirl. GreatGirl. We haven't heard from you. We were just leaving to catch the Kigori."
- "Oh, we just dropped that little guy in containment." Superman said.
- "Yeah." The two women heroes nodded.
- "Stand down, guys." The older Danvers told the squad, who walked away.
- "I'm sorry. Team Krypton was just having #toomuchfun." Supergirl chuckled. "I mean, I've always loved being Supergirl. But today..."
- "Next time it would be nice if you followed protocol and alerted us that an alien combative was no longer an active threat." J'onn said. "Your cousin may not work for the D.E.O., but you two still do."
- "Sorry." GreatGirl replied.
- "Sorry." The younger Danvers woman added. "We were... We were just having..."
- "#toomuchfun. Yeah, we know." The J'onzz man said.
Everything in the D.E.O. powered down.
- "Uh, energy drain coming from the holding area." Winn explained.
- "Again?" The Matthews girl frowned.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
A couple of seconds later, they walked to the lab linked to infirmary.
- "It started happening last night." Winn said.
- "All energy resources at the D.E.O. suddenly diverted to him." Alex added.
I think he's a daxamite, but until he wakes up, we can't be sure, so I'm keeping my mouth shut. GreatGirl thought.
- "You're exposing him to Kryptonite?" Superman frowned. "He's a survivor, not a prisoner."
- "It's a precaution." J'onn replied. "We don't know anything about him, besides that he's or a krypton or a daxamite, but until he wakes up, we can't be sure."
Everything in the D.E.O. powered up.
- "Ooh, power is back at 100%." The Schott man said.
- "His vitals have jumped again. It's at the same rate as the power drain." The older Danvers replied.
- "He's repairing himself at a cellular level?" The Kent man asked.
- "It's like photosynthesis. His cells are absorbing the electrical energy and converting them to chemical energy." The right hand explained.
- "That's pretty cool." The Matthews girl added.
- "You should test his levels again. Now that he's..." The Kryptonian man started.
- "We've got this, Superman." The director replied, dryly.
Awkward. The quadbrid pressed her lips together.
- "Sure you do." Superman scoffed. "I should go." He walked away.
- "I know you two aren't the best of friends." Supergirl said. "But you promised you'd be nice to him while he's here."
- "Yeah, actually he said he would try." The tech guy corrected.
- "How... How is it hard to be nice to Superman?" The younger Danvers asked. "He's Superman."
- "If it means so much to you, we will get along." J'onn replied.
- "Thank you." The Kryptonian woman said as he walked away.
GreatGirl walked into the infirmary.
- "Hey, bro." She whispered. "Bro. That's weird to say that to you, because I don't even know your name." She sat next to his bed and held his hand. "Come on; heal your body more so you can wake up."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, that night, the three heroes flew to the National City Bridge where a man was getting ready to jump.
- "Sir." GreatGirl started. "Sir, you don't want to do this."
The man turned around; it was John Corben.
- "Shit." GreatGirl murmured. "It's happening."
- "Corben?" The Danvers woman frowned.
His shirt burnt because of his exterior Kryptonite heart, which was what he shot Superman with, making him fall to the ground in pain.
- "No." John replied.
- "Metallo. Yeah, we know." The Matthews girl said.
The Corben man shot at the Kent man on the ground again, making him scream.
- "I was shot in the back." The Kryptonian woman tried to punch him, but he did not move.
The cyborg punched her back, throwing her across the bridge.
The quadbrid pushed him off the bridge, before helping her friends up, but John, who attached to the edge of the bridge, came up behind her and threw her across the bridge.
He, repeatedly, punched the Kryptonian man and grabbed him from behind, pushing him onto the kryptonite.
The two women, across from each other, used their heat vision on each of his hands, burning the skin to reveal a metal skeleton.
The Corben man shot towards Supergirl, but missed when GreatGirl punched him, before helping Superman up.
The Danvers woman hid behind a car and pushed it against him as he shot at it.
He stopped the car as she jumped on the roof and the cyborg shot at her, making her fall to the ground.
- "At least you'll see your death coming." He walked towards her face.
The Matthews girl super speeded towards him and used her super strength to push him hard, making him fly backwards hundreds of feet further.
- "Kara." The Kent man walked to his cousin and carried her.
The quadbrid opened a portal and the trio walked through it.
They stepped inside the D.E.O.
- "Kara." Alex ran to her sister, who was now on her feet, but she had her arms around her cousin and her friend.
- "I'm fine." The Kryptonian woman replied. "I'm fine. I'm just a little dizzy." She pulled her arms away from the two heroes.
- "You told me that only the D.E.O. had access to kryptonite." The Kryptonian man said. "So how would you like to explain what just happened out there? A kryptonite-charged cyborg almost killed Kara. Almost killed me. Would've killed both of us if Maddie wasn't invulnerable to Kryptonite. Start talking, J'onn!"
- "A shipment went missing four months ago." J'onn replied. "We've done all we can to find it."
- "Four months ago?" Supergirl frowned.
- "Why didn't you tell us?" GreatGirl asked.
- "'Went missing'?" Superman repeated.
- "Stolen." The older Danvers said. "We thought it was an inside job, but everyone in the transport came up clean."
- "So you have a mole." The Kent man replied.
- "We don't know that." The J'onzz man shook his head.
- "If you'd gotten rid of it when I told you to..." The Kryptonian man started.
- "We would have been helpless when Non and Astra launched Myriad. Or have you forgotten that there was a force even the Man of Steel couldn't defeat?" The director asked.
In your face. The Matthews girl pressed her lips together.
He tried to walk away, but Superman put a hand on his chest to stop him.
- "Superman and Martian Manhunter are gonna fight. This is terrible." Winn said. "This is awesome."
- "We have given our lives protecting the people of Earth. If you cared about Kara at all!" The Kent man yelled.
J'onn pushed his hand away.
- "Watch what you say." He replied, angrily.
- "Or what?" The Kryptonian man yelled.
The quadbrid pushed them away from each other.
- "Stop it!" She shouted, startling everyone. "We have bigger problems than your bruised egos, who can't agree to disagree on a subject!"
- "It can kill Kara and me!" Superman replied.
- "It can kill every Kryptonian, who has ever threatened Earth." GreatGirl said.
- "Exactly." The J'onzz man nodded.
- "Are you seriously siding with him?" The Kent man frowned.
- "I don't side with either of you, because you both are right!" The Matthews girl yelled. "But to realize that the other is also right, you would have to pull your heads out of your asses!"
The two men looked at her, in shock.
- "People of National City." A robotized face appeared on every screen of the D.E.O.
- "The Earth has been stolen from us. And the enemy has come in the guise of heroes. They say they come in peace, to protect us from ourselves. But how long will it be before these gods decide to rule instead of serve? We are the antidote to their poison. We are the scientists who will show them what humans are capable of. Those who have sided with the invaders will not be spared. You cannot stop us. We are everywhere. We are Cadmus." The message stopped.
- "Cadmus." The Kryptonian man said.
- "Announcing themselves to the world." The Schott man added.
- "Declaring open war." The director continued.
- "They want to kill us." The younger Danvers replied. "All of us."
- "They will lose." The quadbrid nodded.
- "Cadmus has my father." The right hand said. "If they turned John Corben into Metallo, what do you think they've done with him?"
- "We'll find him." The Kryptonian woman wrapped her arm around her sister' shoulders.
- "And stop them." Superman added.
- "How?" The tech guy asked. "Does Cadmus exist in your comics?"
- "Yes." GreatGirl replied. "But it won't be of much use, because Cadmus is good in my universe. Superman is an ally and the villains are the enemies."
- "Crap." Winn whispered.
- "Metallo isn't just flesh and blood anymore. Cadmus has given him a metal endoskeleton. Traces of the alloy had to end up on my hands when I hit him. I can analyze it at the Fortress of Solitude." The Kent man explained.
- "Agent Schott, get Non and Astra's anti-kryptonite technology out of storage." J'onn ordered. "See if you can improve upon it for our two friends here."
- "I get to make Superman's new suit?" The Schott man asked.
- "No pressure." The Kryptonian man said and walked away.
- "Superman, Maddie is right. This thing is bigger than the both of us. We should work together on this." The J'onzz man explained.
- "I hope you like the cold." Superman replied.
They both walked away.

Wednesday, 25th May 2016
The next day, GreatGirl came to the D.E.O. after work and sat next to her brother's bed.
- "Hey, stranger." She said as she held his hand. "Today was a bit chaotic at work. The lead reporter is a dick." She snickered. "He gave me so many things to do. I usually don't mind, but he did it without even saying thank you afterward."
Huge asshole. The Matthews girl thought.
- "Anyway, Mia really wants to meet you." She chuckled. "She said that once you were awake, we could have Matthews/ Krillin siblings hang-outs. I think it would be cool at some point. But not now, I just want to spend time with you alone when you wake up." She sighed. "I can't explain how, but I'm already attached to you SO much."
Attached to him? The quadbrid scoffed.
- "I mean I already love you, like you've always been a part of my life." She sniffled. "It's weird. I always felt like I was missing a part of myself. I thought that it was because I didn't know my biological parents, but now, I know. You were... You are that missing part in me."
Even though now, there is mom and the Davenports to add to the missing parts of me. GreatGirl sighed.
The man, slightly, squeezed her hand.
- "You can hear me?" The Matthews girl smiled with tears in her eyes.
Her brother squeezed her hand again.
The quadbrid chuckled.
- "Hey, brother." She said.
A knock on the door of the infirmary was heard.
GreatGirl wiped her tears and turned around.
- "Maddie, we found something at the Fortress." Superman explained.
- "I'll be there in a minute." The Matthews girl nodded.
The Kent man walked away.
The quadbrid got up and let of her brother's hand; she leaned towards him and kissed his forehead.
- "I have to go. Hope, you'll be awake the next time I see you." She smiled, before walking away.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
A couple of seconds later, GreatGirl walked into the main room where Superman was on the phone with his cousin.
- "How's the Fortress?" Kara asked.
- "We ID'ed the material Cadmus used to create Metallo's endoskeleton." The Kent man explained.
- "Agent Schott, I need to know if there's any promethium within a hundred-mile radius." J'onn ordered.
- "Promethium, where the hell did they find that?" The Matthews girl frowned.
- "Okay. Promethium, you hot little number." Winn started to type on his computer. "Show me a heat signature. Bingo. Atomic number 61, come on down."
- "That's in the industrial district." The J'onzz man frowned. "That can't be Cadmus' headquarters."
- "So, at the moment Metallo's on his own." The Kryptonian man said. "Winn?"
- "Those suits are very nearly totally ready." The Schott man replied. "And by that I mean they're in no way ready."
- "Kara, we're gonna have to go without them." Superman said. "We might not get this chance again. Meet us there."
- "I'm on my way." The Danvers woman hung up.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
A couple of minutes later, the trio arrived to the industrial district where Metallo was discharging a truck.
Superman punched him, making him fly backwards against Supergirl, who pushed him against GreatGirl, who punched it to the ground.
He was lying on the ground, surrounded by the three heroes.
- "It's over, Metallo." The Danvers woman said.
- "I am happy to give myself up for my cause." John replied. "But it's not over. Not by any means."
- "You make a move, we'll incinerate you." The Kent man threatened as he and the women turned their eyes red.
- "Go ahead." The Corben man straightened up on his knees. "But you'll still be here with me. And if you're here with me, then you're not in Metropolis with him."
- "It's a trap." The Matthews girl said. "We have to get to Metropolis."
She opened a portal and walked through it with the Kryptonian man.
- "You better follow them, or I'll burn you alive." The cyborg made his kryptonite heart glow.
- "We'll be back. Trust me." The Kryptonian woman said, before walking through the portal.
Everything was destroyed in the Metropolis Park. People were helping the injured to walk away.
- "I should have been here." Superman sighed. "I should've known."
The quadbrid put a hand on his back, in support.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the two heroes of National City entered the D.E.O., leaving Superman in his city.
- "Winn, have you seen Alex?" Supergirl asked.
- "Alex? Oh, Alex Danvers. Why?" Winn replied.
- "Uh, yeah." The Danvers woman frowned. "I need to talk to her. I haven't been very fair to her lately."
- "Well, she is not here." The Schott man said.
- "Where is she?" The Kryptonian asked, but he did not answer. "Winn? Where is Alex?"
- "Don't make me hurt you." GreatGirl threatened.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
After, Winn told the heroes that Alex had found the mole and had planned to trap him.
The two heroes flew to her location, where they heard fighting.
They flew through the ceiling and landed between the older Danvers and two men, who shot at the heroes.
The aliens caught the bullets with their hands.
They looked at each other and each grabbed the head of a man, bumping them into each other, knocking them out.
The right hand knocked out the guy on her side.
- "You okay?" Supergirl asked.
- "Yeah. Thanks to you two." Alex sighed.
- "I can't read their minds, but must have something to block it." GreatGirl rolled her eyes. "God, I miss the people of my universe who didn't know how to do that."
- "I'm sorry. I'm... I'm so sorry for everything. I..." The younger Danvers put her hands on her sister's shoulders. "I'm sorry if I ever have made you feel like you were less to me than Clark. You are the only reason I've ever felt at home on this planet."
- "I'm just better when we're together." The older Danvers said.
- "Me, too." The Kryptonian smiled.
- "That's it!" The Matthews girl exclaimed. "They think we're divided, but we're not."
- "'They' who?" The right hand asked.
- "I know what to do about Metallo. Both Metallos. But I need you both." The quadbrid replied.
- "I'm here." Alex nodded. "Always. For both of you."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, in the lab, Winn was showing his new suits.
- "Okay. So, this is a bit of a rush job, but they should keep you alive. What do you think?" he asked.
- "Nice job, Mr. Schott. You should be..." J'onn started.
- "Not you." The Schott man replied.
- "I love it." Superman smiled.
- "Are you crying?" Supergirl asked.
- "No." The tech guy replied.
- "He is." GreatGirl nodded.
- "So, what's the plan?" Alex asked.
- "Well, Cadmus thinks that we are above the rest of the world, that we'll retreat alone to our own cities, just wait for them to come and get us." The Matthews girl explained. "What they won't be expecting is for us to have backup."
- "We're listening." The Kent man said.
- "Always." The younger Danvers nodded.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the two heroes flew to where John was.
- "I told you we'd be back." Supergirl said.
- "And I told you I'd burn you alive." The Corben man shot at her, but her new suit protected her.
GreatGirl threw a car on him.
- "Now it's time to punch your face." The younger Danvers punched in him in the face.
The two heroes punched him, repeatedly, as they avoided his fists.
The Kryptonian kicked his stomach with her knee and the cyborg punched her suit, disconnecting one of the cables and making her vulnerable again.
He tried to choke her, but the Matthews girl body-slammed him.
She was above in as she, repeatedly, punched his face.
John managed to kick her off him, and he walked above Supergirl.
- "And now it's really over." He smirked.
Alex arrived in the suit Non had made, and she punched the Corben man against a column.
The quadbrid reconnected her friend's cable and helped her up.
The trio walked towards him.
- "You thought you could divide and conquer?" The older Danvers asked.
- You might work better alone, but we don't." The younger Danvers replied.
- "And now, it's time to destroy you." GreatGirl added.
The trio launched at him.
They started to punch him one by one, not leaving him time to react.
They started to kick him, but again, they moved so fast one by one, that he did not have time to react.
The sisters continued to punch him as the Matthews girl grabbed his Kryptonite heart and ripped it out his chest.
Metal came out of the cyborg as he fell to the ground.
The women smiled at each other.
- "Women do it better." The quadbrid said.
The Kryptonian noticed a camera in his eye, and she kneeled down to grab his face as she made him look at her.
- "Can you see me? Can you hear me?" She asked. "This is not over. We will find you."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, GreatGirl was sitting by her brother's side.
- "Hey, so this afternoon had more movement than this morning." She sighed. "But we won, the bad guys are in prison." She held his hand. "I'm talking to you like you're a good person, maybe you're a bad guy, too."
Maybe he's the worst of the worst. The Matthews girl thought.
- "But I don't know that, since you won't wake up." She sighed. "You slept for thirty-seven years, it's time to move your lazy ass and wake up."
The man squeezed her hand, slightly.
- "Come on, I need you." The quadbrid said. "I love everyone here, and they welcomed me with open arms, but I miss my real family and having you would help a little since you are actually my brother."
- "Hey." Supergirl walked in. "Sorry to bother, but I'm gonna say goodbye to Cat. You want to come?"
- "Yeah." GreatGirl nodded.
- "I'll wait for you, downstairs." The Danvers woman walked away.
The Matthews girl kissed her brother's forehead.
- "Wake up. I love you." She whispered, before walking away.
The man's heart started to beat, slightly faster.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, that night, the two heroes flew to Cat's balcony. She had decided to leave CatCo.
- "Will you miss it?" Supergirl asked.
- "Who told you I was leaving?" The Grant woman sighed.
- "A little bird." GreatGirl replied.
- "Little plane?" The queen of media said. "Yes. Yes, I will. I will miss CatCo every day."
- "Well, I admire you, Ms. Grant. It's scary leaving the life you've known." The Danvers woman replied.
- "I agree. My whole life changed a few months ago, and it was one of the scariest moments in my life." The Matthews girl added.
- "Hmm. I'm about to take a leap into the unknown and... And I'm... I'm thrilled. Do you have any idea how exciting it is not to know what I'm going to do tomorrow?" Cat asked as the heroes chuckled. "It's exhilarating."
- "I wish I could do that, sometimes." The Kryptonian said. "Start something new. Be someone new."
- "Hmm, well, life is long. And you will be many different people before the end." The Grant woman replied. "And knowing you, every single one of them will be extraordinary. But not as extraordinary as me."
- "No, well... Of course not." The quadbrid shook her head.
- "That's very true, Cat." Supergirl smiled.
- "Have I ever told you that my name is Catherine?" The queen of media asked.
- "We are not telling you our real names." The Danvers woman shook her head.
- "I had to try." Cat sighed.
- "We know." GreatGirl said.
- "It's the reporter in me." The Grant woman replied. "Be safe, girls."
- "You, too." The Matthews girl nodded.
- "And come back." The Kryptonian added. "I know we all need change, but we need friends, too."
- "Oh, I'll be back." The queen of media smiled. "I will."
The two heroes flew away.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the two heroes were at the D.E.O. with everyone.
- "Here it is. All the kryptonite on Earth, encased in lead." J'onn said as an agent pushed the boxes. "I trust you'll do the right thing, Superman." He extended his hand.
- "Thank you." Superman shook his hand. "I'm going to miss you, Winn." He extended his hand, but Winn hugged him. "Oh!"
- "Next time, let's... Let's... Let's really hang out." The Schott man replied.
- "Yeah." The Kent man nodded and hugged GreatGirl. "It was great meeting you, Maddie."
- "The feeling is mutual, Clark." The Matthews girl smiled softly.
- "Alex." The Kryptonian man hugged her. "I will do everything I can to find Jeremiah, I promise."
- "Thank you." Alex replied.
- "Khao-shuh." Supergirl said.
- "What... What's that mean?" The tech guy asked.
- "There's not really a word for it in your language." Superman frowned. "I guess the closest thing would be 'To be continued'?" The younger Danvers nodded and he hugged her. "I love you, Kara."
- "I love you too, Kal." The Kryptonian woman replied.
The Kent man smiled and grabbed the boxes, before flying away.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, Supergirl was sitting in the infirmary by the man's side.
- "I know what it's like to be a stranger on this planet." She said. "So when you wake up, I'll be here for you and so will your sister. So, you never know what it's like to be alone."
The man, suddenly, woke up, gasping for air, before grabbing the Danvers woman by the neck.
