The bionic trio was in a deserted place, surrounded by ruins.
- "Guys, I have a bad feeling. Let's get out of here." Bree said.
Two guys appeared out of nowhere. The trio started fighting them. Adam sent one guy flying through the air, ending the fight. The brothers fist-bumped. The youngest siblings high-fived.
An alarm was heard. The trio was revealed to be in a training simulator in the lab.
- "Adam, that was the Rebel Leader." Donald said, while the trio took off their goggles. "The whole purpose of today's mission simulation was to interrogate him."
- "I did, and his answer was, "Aaaaah!"." The tall guy replied.
- "Hey, next time could you maybe throw in a cute, blue-eyed rebel?" The bionic girl asked. Her father looked at her, in shock. "What? I'm just sayin'. It's not gonna kill you to add a little somethin'-somethin' for the ladies."
- "Step aside, amateurs." Leo pushed both of his brothers and grabbed the goggles. "Go ahead, Big D. Set it to "awesome"." He did a superhero pose.
- "Leo, these goggles are not a toy." The older man took off the goggles.
- "Come on! My birthday's coming up. Globally known as "Dia De Leo"." The latter explained. "Ask Dee."
- "No. I designed the mission simulator to fine-tune their bionics, not to go on 3-D joyrides. Besides, you're not trained for it." Donald replied.
- "Well, how about as a birthday gift, you give me a bionic ability?" The short boy asked.
- "Or I could gift-wrap reality, and you could play with that for a while." The father snickered, before walking away.
- "So Leo's having a birthday. What are you, like, nine?" The genius boy asked.
- "Fourteen." Leo replied.
- "No, seriously." Chase laughed.
The short boy looked at him, offended.
Wait, really? The youngest Davenport thought. We have the same age?
- "So, how are you gonna celebrate?" Bree questioned.
- "We're all going to celebrate. Every year, my mom throws me a big surprise party." The Dooley boy grinned.
- "Really?" Adam asked.
- "Last year, she and Dee baked a cake the size of me." Leo chuckled. "I'm not gonna brag, but I was delicious." He continued, seriously.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, Tasha walked in the lab, excited.
- "Guess what? I just found out that I won an award for my undercover reporting on expired produce: "Something In The Crisper Can Kill You"." She explained.
- "Congratulations!" Donald exclaimed as he hugged her tight. "That's so great! I'm proud of you." He grabbed one of her cheeks and gently kissed her. Leo groaned, in disgust. "Did you tell Claire?"
- "Oh, thank you. Yes, I told her first. But the awards banquet is the same night as Leo's birthday." The mother said, in an apology tone. "I'm sorry, honey. I'm gonna miss it." The woman put her hand on her son's shoulder. "If I don't show up, I'm afraid that they're gonna give my award to that overdramatic screen hog Linda Montieres." She mocked.
- "It's okay, Mom." The short boy replied. "Go have fun. You deserve it." He walked away, smiling. Bree grabbed his shirt and pulled further away from their parents. "He-ey."
- "I thought she was gonna throw you a party. I was promised a party!" The bionic girl exclaimed.
- "Every year she comes up with this lame excuse to make me think she's not throwing me a party." Leo explained. "Award? Please. Have you seen her reporting?"
- "Leo, are you sure you're not mad?" Tasha put her hand on her son's shoulder. "We've never been apart on your birthday." She said with an emotional voice.
- "Oh, please! He'll have plenty of birthdays, but who knows if you'll ever win anything again." Adam replied as he walked behind the short to put his hands on both of his shoulders.
The woman glared at him.
- "Mom, go get your award. Besides, I won't be alone. I have Dee and these three." The Dooley boy replied. "Chocolate frosting!" He coughed.
- "I promise we will celebrate the following night, with Claire and Maddie." Tasha responded.
- "Hey, why haven't we ever had a birthday party?" Bree asked.
- "Donald!" The mother reprimanded. "You never celebrated their birthdays?"
- "Of course, I celebrated their birthdays." The father lied. "Remember when we..." The trio shook their heads. "No, when we went to the..." They shook their heads, again. "Yeah, I never celebrated their birthdays." He admitted.
- "Did you also eat all the cookies before Santa came down the chimney?" Tasha joked.
Santa? The genius boy thought.
- "What's Santa?" The bionic girl asked, sweetly.
The mother and Leo looked at the man, in disbelief.
- "Oh, come on!" She yelled and walked out of the lab.
- "And why would you give them cookies?" Donald followed her.
- "This is going to be the best birthday ever!" He exclaimed. "The size of the party is equal to the size of the excuse. I'm gonna go work on my surprised face." He put on a surprised face and then, left.
- "Whoo-hoo! Leo's having a surprise party!" The tall guy yelled.
- "Adam, if Leo was having a surprise party, don't you think we'd be invited?" Chase asked.
- "Yeah, you're right. Who does Tasha think she is not inviting us?" Adam replied. "I can't believe Maddie didn't tell us." He scoffed.
What is happening in his head? The youngest thought.
- "No. Tasha, Claire, and Davenport really are going to an awards ceremony." Bree explained. "This is horrible. Leo's gonna be so disappointed."
- "Unless we throw him a surprise party and invite everyone from school." The youngest sibling suggested.
- "Well, what do we know about throwing a surprise party?" The Davenport girl questioned.
- "Nothing, but Mads does." The genius boy replied. "You heard Leo, she helped Tasha last year."
- "Yes! We have to call M!" The sister exclaimed.
- "Well, if it was me, I'd want a bouncy house. And a piñata. Wait. And a clown. No, wait. Put the piñata on the clown, in the bouncy house, and hit everything at once." The tall guy jumped, excited. His siblings looked at him, weirdly. "Candy's bound to come out of somewhere."
- "Whoa! Let's invite Glitterhead!" The Davenport girl exclaimed. "You know that internet star who sings her songs in sign language. You might have heard of her latest CD: "Talk to the hand"."
- "No, no, no." Chase shook his head. "Leo would want something cool at his party, like those sci-fi mutants from his favorite television show. Shark Man!" He put his hand on his head and pretended to be a shark. "And Flipper Boy!" He put his hands on his sides and pretended to move them like they were pectoral fins.
- "That's your favorite TV show." Adam said.
- "It could be his also." The genius defended.
- "Ya know, Leo's a great brother. Why don't we just give him all three?" Bree replied.
- "Whoo-hoo! Yeah! We're havin' a party!" The oldest yelled. "Leo's gonna be so surprised. I'm gonna go tell him." He started walking out.
- "Adam." The youngest said, firmly.
- "Oh, right. Well, I'm going to go tell Leo he's not having a surprise party. That was close. He almost found out." Adam scoffed and left.
The younger siblings ran after him.

The day of Leo's birthday, Maddie had helped the trio organizing Leo's birthday, all week. The four came to the mansion after school.
In a spare room, the alien girl was telling the trio what to do, now, without Leo noticing. They were sitting on the bed, waiting for her instructions.
- "Okay." She clapped her hands and paced back and forth, in front of the bed. "We only have two hours left, before the adults leave and everyone at school arrives. The cake is ready." She explained and stopped in front of the trio. "Bree, you'll get the cake at my house." The girl handed the keys to her best friend, who nodded.
- "Why her?" Adam asked.
- "Because I know, she won't eat the cake before the party." The Matthews girl looked at the oldest sibling, and then, turned to the youngest. "Or stuff her face with it."
She knows about that? Chase thought.
- "I don't know what you're talking about." The genius boy replied, coyly.
You are sure about that, Chase? She smiled.
- "Right." The genius girl unlocked her phone and showed the trio a picture of Chase, stuffing his face with cake, at their first party.
You've to be kidding me. He thought.
- "Leo." He murmured.
The two older siblings laughed with Maddie.
- "Yep." She put back her phone, in her back pocket. "Plus, I need the both of you to help me blow balloons and decorate." The alien girl explained. "So, Bree go get the cake. Chase, Adam, go get the helium tanks." The tall guy's eyes widened. "Please, tell me you have the tanks." She sighed.
- "Um... No." He looked at the floor.
The Matthews girl slapped her forehead, in despair.
- "Don't worry, Mads. I did." Chase said.
- "Thank you!" She exclaimed. "Now, come on, people." She clapped her hands, several times. "Let's move!"
The trio, quickly, got up.
- "Damn, you're even more bossy than Chase." Adam replied.
- "That's great. Complain about that, while you go get the tanks." Maddie pushed the trio out of the spare room.
Chase laughed when he saw the look of shock on his older brother's face.
- "Bree, please be careful. I spend a lot of time on that cake." The Matthews girl explained.
- "Don't worry, I got it." The bionic girl called for a cab.
- "And remember, if Leo catches us, you are leaving him with me and continue what you have to do. Got it?"
The trio nodded and walked away.
- "This is gonna be great. Everything is gonna be fine." The alien girl reassured herself.

That evening, Leo walked in the living and founded Claire and Donald, waiting.
- "Wow! A tuxedo and an elegant dress. You, two, are really committing to this thing." The short boy grinned.
The Matthews woman was wearing a navy blue dress that stopped at her knees, with long sleeves of lace and a small v-neck. Her light brown hair was tied in an elegant bun. She was wearing her favorite necklace with the letter 'M' on it. It was for Matthews, and mostly, Maddison.
The Davenport man was wearing a simple, but elegant, black tuxedo.
- "Happy birthday, sweetie." The mother kissed the top of the boy's head.
- "Thank you, Claire." He hugged her waist.
- "Look, Leo, I'm really sorry we're missing your birthday." The man said.
- "Maddie will give you our gift, later." The mother smiled.
- "Yes! I can't wait!" Leo clapped his hands. "These two are THE best gift givers in the world." He explained.
- "Um, just wait till you see the gift I got you. It is whoa-amazing-I-can't-believe-he's-my-dad-tastic!" Donald exclaimed.
- "Is it a robotic snake?" The short boy asked.
- "Uh-uh." The father shook his head.
- "Is it a remote-controlled tank that fires real lasers?" The Dooley boy replied.
- "Uh-uh." The man denied.
- "Is it a real tank that fires fake lasers?" Donald shook his head. "Then I hope you kept the receipt." Leo left the room.
- "Don't worry. I'm sure he'll like it." The woman said.
- "I know, he will." He replied. "Then, we'll see which gifts he prefers." He smirks.
The alien woman rolled her eyes and chuckled.
- "Leo will prefer ours for sure." She smirked. "He's been talking about it, since his birthday, last year."
- "Uh-uh. We'll see." The Davenport man said, not impressed.
- "Claire, could you come for a second, please?" Tasha yelled.
The Matthews woman walked to the couple's bedroom.
- "What do you need, Tash?" She asked.
- "I need your advice." The Davenport woman explained. "Which color of earrings look better with my dress?" She asked, holding two pairs of earrings.
Tasha was wearing a knee-long silver blue metallic dress. Her dark brown hair was falling on her shoulders.
Claire snickered.
- "You called me for that?" She asked her best friend, who nodded.
- "Yes! I need to look perfect to receive my award." Tasha replied.
- "You already look perfect, Tasha." The Matthews woman put her hands on her best friend's shoulders. "Everything is going to be amazing. Don't worry." She smiled.
- "Thank you." The Davenport woman smiled. "You're right." She sighed. "Everything is going to be fine. I'm gonna receive my award, and we'll have an amazing night."
- "Absolutely." Claire smiled back. "And to answer your question, the silver ones will look better with your dress."
- "Thank you! That's what I thought." She turned to face the mirror and put on the earrings.
- "Shall we?" The alien woman asked.
- "Yes." Tasha took her best friend's arm and walked out of the room. "Donald!" The two women walked in the living room. "Hey, Leo, we're leaving!"
- "You are beautiful, my love." Donald said, in awe, as he extended his hand for her to take.
- "Thank you, honey." She smiled and took his hand.
- "Okay, here I come!" Leo jumped out from the hallway and acted surprised.
- "We're on our way out." The Davenport woman explained.
- "Ohhh. Well, I will just walk you to the door, then. I'm approaching the front door." The short boy said, loudly. "I have my hand on the handle. I'm gonna open it." He opened the door. "Surpri..."
He ran out to see that nobody was on the other side of the door.
- "Thanks for the play by play." The father replied. "Shall we, ladies?" He extended his arms. The two mothers grabbed each of his arms. "Two beautiful women at my arms, it's a dream come true." He joked.
Tasha and Claire chuckled.
- "Goodbye, baby." The Davenport woman said to her son.
The adults walked and drove away.
- "Oh, I see. They're gonna get in the car, drive away, turn around, then everyone's gonna hop out the bushes." Leo smiled. "That's right, convincingly pull out of the driveway..." He waved goodbye. "Look at them gettin' on the freeway like they have somewhere to be." He, then, realized that this was true. "Hey, where you goin'?! It's my birthday!" He yelled.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Adam, Chase, and Maddie were in the spare room, blowing balloons.
- "Wait a second." The genius boy said. "How are we gonna get all these balloons in the living without Leo noticing?"
- "We just..." The genius girl started.
- "Oh, no problem." Adam popped all the balloons with a pencil.
Seriously? Chase thought.
The alien girl slapped her forehead.
- "We just had to occupy Leo!" She yelled. "Now, we have to start over." She sighed. "If you pop the next ones, I'm gonna fill you with helium until you explode." She stepped towards the tall guy's face. "Understood?"
- "Yes! Yes!" He stepped back. "Geez, you get scarier every day." The oldest sighed.
- "It's a gift." The Matthews girl smirked.
- "Yeah, I believe that." The youngest Davenport chuckled.
Leo walked in the spare room. The trio, hurriedly, hid the discarded balloons and the helium tanks.
- "What are you three doing in here?" The short boy asked.
- "Nothing." Maddie snickered. "We were just talking."
- "Yeah, talking." Adam laughed, loudly.
Chase elbowed him.
- "Oookay." The Dooley boy looked at them, suspiciously. "Anyway, my mom's actually going to an awards banquet. She's not throwing me a surprise party."
- "Oh, no! That's awful!" The genius boy exaggerated. The Matthews girl gave him a look.
Got it, Mads. He thought.
- "We gotta go." He ran.
- "Later, bro." The tall guy ran.
Thank you. She thought.
The bionics brothers ran out of the room and closed the door.
- "Hey, where you goin'? It's my birthday!" Leo yelled. "Why are they doing this?" He asked.
- "I don't know. They probably had plans." The alien girl shrugged.
Her childhood best friend's sighed.
- "Eddy, we're moving the party prep, to the living room." Chase said to the screen, outside the spare room. "Keep Leo in the room, until I give you the signal."
- "Wait. So you want me to hold the poor kids against their will?" The computer asked. "I'm in!" He yelled.
The brothers laughed and walked away.
On the other side, the birthday boy tried, in vain, to open the doors.
- "Eddy, probably, locked the doors." Maddie sighed and sat on the bed.
- "Eddy, open these doors." Leo ordered.
- "Oh, but if I did that, I'd ruin the surprise party they're planning for you." The computer replied.
The alien girl jumped off the bed with her eyes wide open.
- "You, guys, are throwing me a surprise party?" The short boy asked his best friend.
- "Yeah, what a bunch of lame-o's. I wouldn't expect much." Eddy replied.
- "I'm gonna rip out your circuits!" The Matthews girl ran towards the screen. Leo grabbed her waist and held back. The smart home system screamed and disappeared. "Let me go!"
- "Dee, stop." Her childhood best friend laughed. "If you really wanted me to let you go, you would make me with your super strength. But, we both know that you don't want to hurt me." He whispered.
Maddie stopped and sighed.
- "Fine. I'll stop." She said. "For now." She grinned.
- "I have no doubt." Leo smiled and sat on the bed. "Thank you for the surprise party, even though, it's not a surprise, anymore."
- "It was your siblings' idea." The alien girl replied and sat next to him.
- "Really?" She nodded. "I'm happy to have met them." The short boy said.
- "Me too." The Matthews girl smiled.
- "Do we really have to stay here?" He asked.
- "Yes!" She exclaimed and laughed.
- "Fine." The Dooley boy snickered. "Since, we are stuck here..." He turned to his best friend. "Can we talk about how you are looking at Chase?" He wiggled his eyebrows.
- "Shut it!" She slightly slapped his shoulder. "We already talked about it, so many times."
- "I know, but I'm bored." Leo smiled.
Maddie scoffed.
- "There is nothing more to say. I'm in love with Chase, and I'm not going to tell him." She shrugged. "And nobody will tell him."
- "You're a lost cause." The boy sighed, amused.
She elbowed him and they laughed.
- "We should get comfortable. We are going to be here, a while." The alien girl laid on the bed.
The short boy laid, next to her.
- "Speaking of feelings, are you gonna tell Janelle?" She raised her eyebrows.
- "Well played, Dee." Leo chuckled.
- "Thank you." She grinned.
- "And, no." He replied.
- "You are as much of a lost cause as I am." Maddie snickered.
- "That's why we love each other." He laughed.
- "True." The alien girl smiled. "I'm happy I met you." She turned to look at him.
- "Me too, Dee." The short boy replied and rested his head on his best friend's shoulder. "Me too."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Two hours later, the trio had decorated the entire living room. The two oldest were welcoming everyone at the front door.
- "Welcome to Leo's surprise party!" Bree exclaimed. "When he comes up, remember to scream real loud and pretend you're his friend."
- "Oh! Check it out! I ordered a break-dancing clown." Adam said, excited. "Hey, Bobby, show us some of your sweet moves."
The clown started break dancing in the middle of the room.
- "Oh, yeah. Yeah! Isn't he awesome? Two weeks ago, he was a car salesman." The tall guy explained. "Yeah! Whoo-hoo!"
Everyone applauded. Two guys walked in. One was wearing the top half of a shark costume and the other was wearing the top half of a dolphin costume. Chase gasped loudly.
Oh my gosh! They are here! He thought.
- "Welcome, Shark Man and Flipper Boy! Eee! Eee! Eee! Eee! Eee! Eee!" The three boys put their hands on their heads as they greeted each other. "I knew the second I saw you guys, something was fishy." The youngest Davenport chuckled. Shark Man and Flipper Boy walked away, and he followed them. "Come on, guys, I don't want to make waves."
- "Okay, let's go get Leo and Maddie." The oldest said to his sister.
- "It's Glitterhead!" The bionic girl gasped. "She actually came straight off the internet and into my living room! I'm not gonna lie. She's kind of freakin' me out."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Everyone was partying. Each bionic sibling was dancing with their idols.
- "Bouncy house in the house!" Adam jumped on the bouncy house and ended up popping it, and it deflated. "Oh, man. What's this thing made out of, plastic and air?"
Chase laughed and nodded.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
One hour after the party started, the best friends were still in the spare room, bored.
- "What is taking them so long?" Leo asked.
- "I don't know." Maddie shrugged. "I gave them, specifics, things to do. It wasn't supposed to take that long. I wish we could just teleport out of here."
- "And how do we explain how we got out? We are not exposing your powers." The boy said, firmly. "Eddy, bring up the great room on the monitor." He asked, and Eddy's screen showed a live feed of the party going on upstairs.
- "What?" The two best friends yelled, at the same time.
- "Eddy, unlock this door." Leo demanded.
- "Not until I get the signal. Otherwise, it could ruin the surprise." Eddy responded.
- "But they're celebrating without me!" The Dooley boy exclaimed, angry.
- "Eddy, the party already started! And you ruined the surprise, three hours ago!" The Matthews girl yelled.
- "I didn't get the signal. And that's nothing. Wait till, they start opening your gifts." The smart home system disappeared.
- "No! No! Eddy! Eddy, unlock the door! Open this door! Open the door!" The boy started pounding on the black screen.
- "Leo, he's gone." Maddie pulled him back.
- "They forgot me on my birthday. My moms are not here. This is the worst birthday, ever." The birthday boy slid down the wall, with tears in his eyes.
- "I'm sorry, Leo." The alien girl sat by his side, and hugged him.
What a bunch of assholes. She thought.
- "Don't even think about using your powers." He sniffled.
- "But, Leo..." She tried.
- "No!" The latter yelled. "You are not exposing your powers. I don't want to lose you..."
- "You won't." The two best friends sat, on the floor, hugging for hours.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Two hours later, after the party, Adam was attempting to blow up the bouncy house, but, without success.
- "How's it looking, guys?" He asked.
- "Almost there. Keep going." Chase smiled.
Claire, Donald, and Tasha walked in and their jaws dropped.
- "What in the name of the newly grounded is going on here?" The father asked.
- "We threw an awesome surprise birthday party for Leo!" Bree exclaimed.
- "Oh! That is so sweet, you guys." Their mother smiled, widely.
- "I knew something was up, when I caught Maddie baking at 2 in the morning." The Matthews woman shook her head.
- "At 2am?" The genius boy replied.
Maddie's mother nodded.
She is so thoughtful. He smiled.
- "Right. Hiding behind the Leo shield. Well played." The scientist said.
- "Speaking of which, where are Leo and Maddie?" The Davenport woman asked.
- "Yeah." Claire and Donald responded, at the same time.
- "They're right here." Eddy's screen showed Leo and Maddie.
- "Where we've been for the past three hours!" The short boy yelled.
The trio looked shocked.
Oh, no. We forgot them. The youngest Davenport thought.
- "Yep, just waiting for the signal." Eddy said.
- "Eddy, let Leo and Mads out now." Chase ordered.
- "All righty, there's my signal." The smart home system disappeared and opened the doors.
- "Let's just go see them. And then, we are going to my room for a sleepover, and we don't let anyone in." Leo explained.
His childhood best friend nodded, angry.
- "Let me get this straight. So you guys had a surprise party for Leo... Without Leo." Donald laughed and after receiving a glare from his wife, he stopped. "That's-- That's actually kind of fu—It's not funny. It's not funny."
- "Okay, well, uh, Leo and Mads are gonna be up here in just a few seconds. Why don't we act like the party's still going on, okay?" The genius boy suggested, and everyone agreed.
The duo walked into the room.
- "Surprise!" Everyone screamed.
Adam and Chase blew the noisemakers, and Bree threw discarded confetti.
- "Whoo!" She said.
- "I thought my first birthday with you guys was gonna be awesome. And you know what? It probably was." Leo started. "But I wouldn't know, because I wasn't invited!" He shouted and walked away to his room.
- "How could you do this to him? You, guys, are assholes." Maddie stated and followed her best friend.
The trio looked down at the floor.
Wow. Now, both of them hate us. The youngest boy thought.
- "Well, that didn't work." The father said.
- "And, I guess, my daughter is sleeping here." Claire replied.
Tasha nodded, sadly.

Wednesday, 8th May 2013
The next morning, Leo and Maddie walked to the kitchen to eat breakfast. When they walked past the trio, they ignored them. They sat at the chairs of the kitchen counter.
- "Honey, I know your birthday was a bit of a bust, but I think I know what will make it better." Tasha said. "Donald, give him your gift."
The latter spat out his drink, from across the kitchen.
- "Gross." The alien girl said, with a disgusted face.
- "Yeah, Big D." The short boy replied. "Maybe your awesome-tastical gift can cheer me up after being totally forgotten!" He shouted. "Dee and Claire's already did a little."
- "What did you, guys, got him?" The mother asked.
- "Only, the thing, he has been talking about since last year." The best friend responded, with a smirk. "The Meccano race car that is not only good for decoration, but you can actually drive it around, with a controller."
- "Dee and I started building it, last night." The Dooley boy smiled. "After, we were forgotten!" He shouted to the trio.
- "What, my gift? You don't want that gift." The father replied. "You know what?" He started counting out cash. "Just give me the number that'll keep the tears back. What do you say?"
- "If I were you, I'd say a very high number." The genius girl whispered to her best friend, who nodded.
- "I was planning on it." He replied.
- "Mr. Davenport, just give him your gift." Chase said.
- "You know, I would, but I forgot where it was." The father lied.
- "Oh, no, it's right here. It's in the closet behind a bunch of stuff." Adam replied.
- "Thanks, Adam. Good eye." Donald responded.
The tall guy brought out the hexacopter box and put it on the dining table. Leo ran over excitedly, dragging Maddie with him.
- "Aaah..." He took out the broken hexacopter out of the box and stopped smiling.
- "What the..." The alien girl whispered.
- "Well, great, Leo. You broke it." The scientist replied, and everyone glared at him.
- "You know what, it doesn't matter." The short boy said. "I have an awesome night with my best friend. And two greats gifts by the Matthews and my mom. I don't need anyone or anything else." He grabbed Maddie's hand and walked out.
The trio and Donald looked at the floor, feeling guilty and hurt by Leo's words.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Adam, Bree, Chase, and their father were in the lab.
- "I am the worst dad ever." The scientist said, and the kids didn't reply. "Well, don't all disagree with me at once." He scoffed. "You know, I'm just gonna glue this hexacopter back together."
- "Well, yeah, sure. Now he'll forgive you, but what about us?" The genius boy asked.
- "Guys, I don't know if you've noticed, but I'm kind of in the "Me" business." The dad left.
- "I feel terrible." The bionic girl said. "We should have just done what Leo wanted."
That's it! The youngest Davenport thought.
- "Wait a second. What Leo really wanted was to go on a mission with us in the simulator. So that's exactly what he's gonna do." He explained.
- "Yeah, but Mr. Davenport said we couldn't." The tall guy replied.
- "We'll just swipe the cyber key away from Mr. Davenport so we can start the simulator ourselves." Chase responded.
- "That is sneaky, conniving, and totally rebellious." The Davenport girl stated. "We are finally normal teenagers!" She exclaimed, excited.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
The trio sneaked behind Donald at his desk.
- "Okay, Mr. Davenport keeps the cyber key on the left side of his desk." Chase explained.
- "If we're gonna do this, we have to be still." Bree replied.
- "I got this." Adam walked to the older man, while the younger siblings protested silently. "Hello, Mr. Davenport. Look at you, playing with your big boy toys." He chuckled.
- "Hey, Adam." The father snickered.
- "What is that?" Adam, dramatically, pointed at the wall. While Donald is distracted, Adam stole the cyber key.
- "Uh, that would be a wall, Adam." The scientist replied, calmly.
- "You are correct, sir." He ran out of the room, followed by his siblings.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later that day, Maddie went home, still mad about what the Davenports did to Leo. The bionic trio walked in the lab with Leo.
- "Let me guess. You're gonna lock me down here and go on vacation." He, sarcastically, said. "Did you also lock Dee?"
- "Leo, it's time for your birthday mission." Chase gave his brother the goggles.
- "But Mr. Davenport said I'm not supposed to play with these." The short boy replied, seriously, and turned around. "But Mr. Davenport isn't here. All right! Let's go!" He exclaimed and ran to the simulator. The simulator turned on and Leo was put into an empty room. "No offense, guys, but this is a seriously expensive let-down." The simulator transformed into a deserted lot. "Hey! Now we're talkin'!" He grinned. Five rebels appeared and started menacing, advancing towards the boy. "Oh! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Whoa! Guys! A little help here!" He screamed.
The trio appeared in the simulator.
- "Chase, show him how it's done." Adam smiled.
Chase started fighting the rebels. Each bionic brother grabbed a rebel and pushed them against one another, knocking each other out.
- "Leo, you're up! Use your force field!" The genius boy exclaimed.
- "What?! I don't have a..." When a rebel attacked him, Leo put his hands up and a force field appeared around him. "Ohh! I have a force field! I'm bionic! Yes! Yes! Finally!" He yelled, excitedly.
- "Time to get your blur on." Bree grinned, and two rebels approached them. "Go!"
The duo super speeded away in opposite directions, and the rebels crashed into each other. Adam stopped Leo from running.
- "Wait. If I can do this..." The short boy started.
- "Go ahead, birthday boy, throw me across the room!" The tall guy smiled.
Leo threw Adam across the room, and he crashed into a rock.
- "How do you resist the temptation to do that to me every day?" The Dooley boy asked when his older brother got up, in pain. A rebel advanced on Leo and beckoned him in. "Oh, you want some of this. Welcome to Dia De Leo! Heyahh!" He grinned.
The rebel threw Leo to the ground and started fighting Chase. The short boy got up, and the masked man grabbed their hands, leaving them defenseless.
- "I don't understand! This rebel is programmed with more sophisticated moves than I've ever seen!" The genius boy exclaimed.
The man sent both brothers crashing to the ground.
- "Hey, it's not cool to make me lose on Dia De Leo!" The latter exclaimed.
- "Yeah? And it's not cool to steal someone's cyber key." The man took off his mask and revealed to be their father.
- "Oh, man, you were supposed to be good-looking." Bree complained and received an offended look from her father, who was helping Leo to get up. "I mean no offense. I'm sure you're eye candy to old people." She chuckled, nervously.
- "Leo, I told you to stay out of the simulator. You're not prepared for it." Donald said.
- "Big D, watch out!" Leo kicked down an oncoming rebel.
- "Or maybe you are." The father laughed. "That was great, Leo! Awesome!" They high-fived.
- "So does that mean I get to use the simulator whenever I want?" The short boy asked with a hopeful smile.
- "No!" The scientist exclaimed. "That just means I have to crank up the difficulty about 100% to make it challenging for these guys, who are in big trouble." He reprimanded.
- "We're sorry we took your cyber key." Chase said. "We had to make it up to Leo for messing up his birthday."
- "And Big D, if you would have given them a party of their own, they may not have had to hijack mine." Leo replied.
- "I got it. Birthdays matter." Donald nodded.
- "Yeah, you should know, you've had enough of 'em." The genius boy chuckled. "What are you, like, fifty?" He asked.
- "I'm thirty-eight." The father replied, offended.
All the kids laughed.
- "No, seriously." The youngest said.
- "Ha ha." The scientist faked laughter. "Okay, who's up for some kick-boxing on Mars?" He asked, excitedly.
- "Yes!" The short boy yelled.
- "Yeah!" The genius exclaimed.
- "See, this is what birthdays are about, kickin' butt as a family." The Dooley boy said. "Come here." The five hugged tightly. "It's time for a hug."
Tasha walked in the lab to see the five of them wearing goggles and having their arms outstretched, in opposite directions, while in the simulator.
- "This place is never gonna stop being weird." She put the cleaned mission suits down and walked out.
The hug ended.
- "And don't worry about Dee, she was mad about what you did to me." Leo explained. "Once I told her, you apologized, she'll stop."
- "Are you sure?" Chase asked, sadly.
I don't want to lose her. She's my best friend. He thought. Even though, I'm not hers.
- "Yes." The short boy nodded. The bionic trio sighed, in relief. Maddie was their only real friend. They couldn't lose her. "And I'm sorry for what I said earlier. I do need the four of you in my life. I just wanted to hurt you when I said that."
- "It's okay, Leo. We forgive you." Bree smiled.
- "Yeah, you are our brother." Adam grinned.
- "And my son." Donald put his hand on the boy's shoulder.
- "Come here." Leo grabbed everyone and pulled them, again, into a group hug.
