After Donald enrolled the bionic trio at school, he spent hours testing their glitches, to make sure they won't glitch at school. He had reunited the four kids around the central cyber desk, in the lab, to give them the results.

- "Okay, guys, you have been trained for all kinds of missions." Donald started. "But you are about to enter a soul-bruising, confidence-crushing, apocalyptic environment..." He made a dramatic pause. "High school." He turned to the trio on his right. "Adam, Bree, your glitch test results are fairly stable."

- "Yes! I'm going to school!" Bree exclaimed.

- "I'm fairly stable!" Adam said, happily.

- "But, Chase, I am still concerned about your Commando App." Davenport told his youngest, who look worried.

Chase wanted to go to school. He wanted to have a normal life. And he wanted to see Maddie, again. He had seen her, the day before, but it wasn't enough.

Tasha and Leo had this tradition, with Claire and Maddie, for the last seven years. Married or not, Tasha didn't want to change it. So, they continued their Sunday brunch and included the Davenports.

Claire had met Adam, Bree, and Chase. "They are sweet kids." She had said.

The children got closer, as well as the parents. Maddie started to build strong bonds with the trio, but never as strong as the one, they have with Leo.

They ended up watching movies, all afternoon. The Dooley-Matthews introduced the Davenports to Harry Potter.

The day was filled of laughter and great memories, which each family will carry with them, for the rest of their lives.

Donald, who didn't seem like the family type at first, was the one who invited the Matthews, before the next Sunday. He had also started to treat the trio more like kids, instead of just bionic humans.

- "Commando App?" Leo asked, disgusted. "Put on some underpants. We're going to school."

- "No, see, in the face of an imminent threat, Chase's Commando App kicks in, and he becomes a fearless brute I like to call Spike." Donald explained as he walked behind Chase and put his hands on his shoulders. He slightly shook Chase, excited. Leo smiled. "It's kinda like a fight-or-flight thing, except I took out the flight part, 'cause, useless. And I replaced it with a testosterone level of like a Tasmanian devil-wolverine-shark-lion hybrid that's mad."

Leo smiled and nodded, super excited.

- "Don't worry, Mr. Davenport." Chase turned to his dad. "I promise that Spike won't rear his ugly head." He reassured.

- "Oh, yeah? You mean like last Christmas when I made the mistake of giving Adam boxing gloves?" Donald walked to his original spot, next to Adam.

Donald and the trio were still in the pajamas because they had just opened their Christmas gifts.

The lab was partially destroyed. The Christmas decoration was on over the floor, Donald's scientific inventions were broken on the floor, and a cyber desk was upside down. Bree and Donald were hiding behind it. Adam was lying on his back, on the floor, with Spike in front of him.

Spike threw a yellow barrel across the room as he growled, before putting his foot on Adam's chest.

- "Anybody else confused about the-don't-punch me rule?" Spike growled to Adam, who looked frightened.

Bree and Donald looked at each other, scared, and raised their weapons towards Spike, still hidden behind the desk.

- "Ugh, I'm still coughing up tinsel." Adam sighed.

- "You know, letting Chase go to school, isn't such a good idea." Donald said, worried. "I can't risk Spike coming out."

- "Oh, come on, Big D. Chase has to come." Leo pleaded. "With these guys, I'll finally get a prime spot in the cafeteria. That's right, y'all. Put on your coats, 'cause I'm about to ride your tail!" Leo mimicked riding, before stopping when he saw as the four looked at him.

- "Don't worry. We'll make sure he stays out of trouble." Adam reassured. "Right, guys?"

- "Yeah." Bree agreed. "It's one for all and all for one." She thought for a second, before talking again. "Unless, of course, you guys make me look bad, in which case, I am dropping you lame-os. And I'm staying with Maddie." She stated.

- "Mr. Davenport, I can't miss school." Chase pleaded. "This is the beginning of my academic achievements and career trajectory. I mean, the road to astronaut lawyer has to start somewhere." The genius boy explained.

Donald nodded.

- "Okay." He yielded. "But I better not get a call from the art teacher saying that Spike ripped out her larynx." The trio smiled. "Actually, she wouldn't be able to say anything, because Spike ripped out her lar–" Davenport rambled and the four kids laughed. "The point is just, keep him out of trouble."

They all nodded.

- "Hey, look what I found." Adam said, excited. He showed his boxing gloves and punched the air. He accidentally punched Chase in the stomach, who fell on the ground. Adam squealed and hid behind Bree. Donald gave him a shocked look, as Bree and Leo snickered. "Look, I'm sorry, but if he's that close to the gloves, it's gonna happen." The tall guy apologized.

Leo had told Dee to wait for them at the school cafeteria.

- "Hey, guys!" Maddie greeted.

- "Hey, Dee." Leo said.

- "Hey, Maddie!" Chase and Adam replied at the same time.

- "Hi, bestie!" Bree exclaimed and went to hug Maddie.

She accepted and answered the hug.

Maddie wasn't big on physical contact, except with her mom, her best friend, Tasha that she saw like a second mom and Rose, who loved her like her granddaughter.

But weirdly, Maddison enjoyed Bree's physical contact even though; they knew each other for a short time. She had also enjoyed the group hug with Adam and Chase, last Friday, when they were pretending to be robots, as weird as it was.

- "Okay, you guys." Leo started as he turned to the bionic trio. "That's Principal Perry. She has the temperament of a junkyard dog stuffed into a really bad pantsuit." He explained as she showed the short woman with glasses.

Maddie nodded.

- "Hey, you!" Perry yelled to a girl at the other end of the cafeteria. "No tongue rings in school! Don't try to hide it. I will take a metal detector to your face!"

- "That's the beauty of Principal Perry." The alien girl smiled, sarcastically.

A tall boy walked towards them.

- "This is it." Bree said. "My chance for romance. On TV, the new girl always drops her books and the cute guy with the soulful eyes picks them up."

- "Bree. Please, don't..." Maddie started, but it was too late.

She dropped her books in front of a teacher, and he slipped on them, dropping all of his papers.

- "Oops! Sorry, I'm new." The bionic girl explained, with an apology look to the teacher, who walked away with his papers still on the floor.

Maddie got down and started to pick up the poor teacher's papers. She felt a hand on hers. She looked up and saw the youngest Davenport. He quickly pulled his hand away.

Her hand is so soft. He thought. I wish I could just hold her hand, for a minute. I would be happy with just that. He, mentally, sighed at his crush on his siblings' best friend.

- "Sorry." Chase said as he helped her pick up the papers.

- "Don't worry." She smiled. They both got up and Chase gave her his pile of papers. He also gave his sister, her fallen books. "Thank you." The alien girl said.

- "Anytime." He replied, nervously.

The way Maddie looked at him always made the genius nervous. Her seraphic beauty was not helping the poor boy to stay calm.

- "Okay, your social life is determined by where you sit." Leo said. "We can't sit at the cool table. But we can be cool table adjacent." The shorter boy showed the tables.

- "FYI, Adam just sat down at the cool table." Bree said.

- "What?!" Leo yelled.

- "Oh, boy. He's dead." Maddie stated.

- "Dee! Not helping." The short boy said. "He can't sit there! That's where the football players sit with the cheerleaders. And they pride themselves on finding very clever places to stuff your pudding cup."

The three teens made disgusted faces as Leo explained.

- "Gross." Maddie replied.

- "Maddie usually kicks their butts when they do it to me." Leo told his siblings, who snickered. "Literally." He looked at them, seriously.

- "Wait. Literally?" Chase asked the alien girl, who simply nodded.

- "I'm so glad to have you as my best friend." Bree smiled and put her arm around Maddie's shoulders.

Maddie grinned and wrapped her arm behind Bree's back.

- "Those girls are actually talking to him." Chase said, amazed, as he looked at Adam with the cheerleaders. "And they can't talk about shapes and colors forever. See ya."

- "Well... It was nice knowing them." The alien girl said.

- "No!" Leo yelled before turning to Bree and Maddie. "The football players are gonna turn them into the 5th food group." Bree's eyes widened. "It's a rescue mission. Move in. Move in." Leo walked to the side; the girls mimicked his weird way of walking and followed.

- "Oh, hey, guys. Look, these girls just told me when the football players get here; I'm getting a free pudding cup." Adam explained, excited.

- "That's not a good thing, big guy." Maddie said.

- "Hi!" Leo greeted the cheerleaders. "Walk away." Leo got down to whispered to Chase. "How's it going?" He asked with a normal voice and posture to the girls. "You're in great danger." He mumbled to Chase again.

- "Chase. This isn't a joke. Get up." Maddison said seriously.

The genius boy looked confused. She grabbed his arm and was about to make him move when the football team entered the cafeteria chanting. Maddie sighed and moved aside. It was too late for him.

The team captain arrived behind Leo and sniffed him.

- "Sorry." Leo said and went besides Maddison. "This isn't going to end well." He whispered as she shook her head.

Trent hit the palm of his hands on the table, next to Chase. He put his hand on Chase's head and made the genius look at him.

- "Hey. That's my seat." The captain said. "Get lost before I use you like a napkin." He smiled, proudly on his sentence.

- "Chase, we should probably go." Bree put her hand on her brother's shoulder. "He's not very absorbent." She, sweetly, explained to Trent.

He grabbed a cup and spilled the water on the table.

- "Oh, look, a spill!" He exclaimed, before grabbing Chase by the collar and making him get up. "I think I'm gonna wipe it up with your face." Trent smirked.

Maddison started to move forward when Chase's face changed. His sweet face became angry and threatening. Chase grabbed Trent's arm and tackled him on the table with his arm in his back. Bree ran to Leo and Maddie.

- "Think again, Bubbleneck." Chase's voice was deeper. Then, Maddison realized, Trent had activated Chase's commando app and this was the famous Spike. She quickly read his mind. He didn't have a lot of memories. "I'm gonna rip out your kneecaps and use them as hockey pucks." Spike threatened the captain.

Adam, clumsily, stumbled to the trio.

- "Okay, I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I think Spike's back." He said to Bree and Leo.

Again, I'm right here. Don't talk in front of me. Maddie mentally shook her head.

Spike pushed Trent back, against the other football players.

- "You have no idea who you're messing with." Trent warned. "Okay? Pudding cups!" He extended his arms and two nerds gave him one pudding cup in each hand.

- "Ohh, I'll take those." Spike snatched the pudding cups from the captain's hands.

- "Hey!" The latter whined like a kid, who had his toys took away. Spike crushed the pudding cups in his hands with his super strength. They burst on the players' faces. "Ooooh!" Trent yelled. He wiped the pudding off his face with his hand. "You're dead!" Spike roared to his face. All the players stumbled backwards, in fear. The four other players ran out, leaving their captain alone. "You, okay, okay. You're lucky that we have to go to the reading center right now." Trent said, with a trembling voice. He then ran out of the cafeteria.

Well, that was amazing. Maddie laughed to herself.

Everyone in the cafeteria cheered and applauded Spike, who smirked. Maddie rolled her eyes, amused, before walking away to give, to the teacher, his papers back.

- "Take a seat, compadres." He showed to his three siblings. "This is our table now." Spike put his feet on the table.

Bree and Adam sat as Leo tried to flirt with the cheerleaders.

- "Hello, ladies. You may remember me from health class when I passed out during the Miracle of Birth video." He smiled. "It's good to see you again."

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

The morning's classes were finished. Maddie was putting her French book in her locker when she turned her head and saw the Davenports-Dooleys walking in her direction. Leo was walking, weirdly.

- "All right." Leo fisted bumps people in the hallway. "Make room for the Alpha Dogs. Woof! Woof! Woof! Woof!"

Why? Maddie asked herself, when she heard her childhood best friend barking.

Adam, embarrassed, put his hand on Leo's shoulder.

- "Don't do that." He said.

- "Okay." The short boy replied.

- "Wait, if we're the Alpha Dogs, then..." Bree dropped her books on the floor, and two guys picked them up for her. "Ooh, I love this!" She exclaimed.

The bionic girl thanked the two boys as Spike gave them menacing looks. A guy walked past them and handed Spike something.

- "What's this?" He asked as he looked at the plastic ticket in his hand.

- "That's an all access hall pass." Leo explained, happy. Spike threw the pass behind them. "You can go anywhere you want with that."

- "I can go anywhere I want already." Spike walked to the other side of the hallway. "These." He started flexing his muscles. " Ugh, are my hall passes."

Oookay. Maddie watched from afar as he did more strength poses, to show off his biceps.

- "Okay, if he starts oiling up, I'm out." Leo said and Adam nodded.

- "Hey, guys." The alien girl said as she came closer.

- "Hey, M." Bree said.

- "M?" Leo raised his eyebrows.

- "Her name is Maddison, so my nickname for her is M." Bree explained, like it was obvious.

- "That's right, B." Maddie put her arm around Bree's shoulder. "You started calling me Dee, when we were six, because you were too lazy to say my name."

Spike turned his head and made eye contact with her.

One thousand one.

One thousand two.

- "It's a very long name." Leo scoffed.

One thousand three.

One thousand four.

One thousand five.

Suddenly, Spike's overconfident face turned soft and panicked.

- "Commando App disengaged?" Chase asked himself, then turned to his siblings. "Guys! Why was I in Commando mode?"

- "Were you in Commando mode?" Bree lied.

- "I didn't see a Commando mode." Leo replied.

- "Oh, that's good, everyone keep lying." Adam said, excited.

Maddison shook her head.

- "You guys were supposed to watch out for me." Chase panicked.

- "Oh, we watched the whole thing. You manhandled the quarterback and pudding popped the whole offensive line!" Leo explained, excited.

Wow, that is so nice. Maddie, sarcastically, thought to herself. If they knew that I knew about their powers, I could've helped Chase.

- "What?" Chase yelled. "Aw, great. This is so gonna come back to haunt my Supreme Court nomination." The genius boy started pacing in the hallway.

- "You know what Spike would say to that?" Bree, sarcastically, asked. "Nothing. He'd rip out your rib cage and play it like a xylophone."

- "Yeah, I like him. He's like a big, fun monster, and." Adam walked to Chase. "You're a sad little buddy." He mocked while doing a whimpering voice.

- "I'll get Spike back." Leo dropped his backpack on the floor, next to Chase. "Get lost before I use you like a napkin." He whisper-yelled and tried to lift Chase off the floor. The genius boy didn't even move. He grunted as he tried two more times. Chase and Maddie just looked at each other, judging Leo in silence. "Yeah, this isn't gonna work." Leo said as he gave up.

The four shook their heads. Leo, Bree, and Adam walked away to their lockers. Maddison stayed behind, with an upset Chase.

- "You're okay?" The alien girl asked the genius boy as she put her hand on his shoulder.

- "Yeah." He responded, sadly.

- "Come on. Let's go eat." Maddie, gently, smiled to him.

- "Okay." He, weakly, smiled and followed her.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

The quintet went into the cafeteria and made the line for their lunches. They sat at the popular table with cheerleaders. The alien girl sat between Bree and Leo. The latter was trying to hit on a cheerleader.

- "Hey, baby. Wanna nibble?" He smirked as he showed her his sandwich.

Maddie was trying to contain her laugh at her best friend's terrible flirt attempt.

- "Hey, there's Trent." Chase said. The quintet looked at the football team that was sitting at a wobbly table near the trash cans. Trent sat down and leaned on the table, all the meal trays went towards him. The other football players caught them so they don't slide down on the ground. "I better go apologize."

Chase got up, but his sister grabbed his arm and pulled him back on the chair.

- "Whoa! Slow it up, buttercup." She said.

- "Mail him a greeting card. It's so much more personal." Leo explained. Maddie smacked the back of the head of her best friend. "Ow. Mean." He said under his breath as he held his head.

- "You really shouldn't go, Chase." The alien girl said. "He will make you pay."

Chase looked down.

- "And then, Dee will make him pay." Leo grinned.

The latter tried not to smile and looked at her plate.

- "Yeah. It is true." She said, softy.

- "You would defend me?" The genius boy asked, incredulous.

- "Of course!" She exclaimed. "You are my friend. All of you." Maddie looked at the four, one by one.

Friend? Chase thought. She sees me as a friend... Of course, she does. The genius thought about what his siblings told him over the years. Who in their right mind would want someone like me? Clearly not Maddie. She's beautiful, and kind, and smart, and cool. Adam and Bree are right... I'm a nerd, and I'm ugly, and boring, and useless. I will never find someone that loves me. Nobody will ever love me.

Those sentences were playing again and again in the genius boy's mind. His siblings' teasing really had destroyed any kind of confidence in him. He always acted like he was confident, but he was not.

But he couldn't tell Adam and Bree that their constant teasing was eating him alive.

He didn't want them to think that he was weak.

Or pathetic.

Or both.

Maddie's voice brought Chase back to Earth.

- "If someone messes with you, they will be the ones, on the floor, regretting it, at the end." She said, unfazed.

The bionic trio looked at her, in shock.

- "Yeah. That sentence is kinda creepy." Leo replied, with wide eyes. "And the worse is that she means it." He wrapped his arm around his best friend's shoulders, who smiled.

Gosh, I love that smile. Chase thought, completely in awe.

- "Guys, look." Adam said. "The cheerleaders cut up my food into tiny pieces. I'm eating a turkey burger through a straw." He sucked the straw. "Mmm. Gibblet-y!"

- "Why?" Maddie asked, clearly disgusted.

- "Because I can." The big guy smiled.

Maddie snickered.

- "Hey!" Principal Perry yelled as she walked in the cafeteria. "New kid! Come here!" She pointed her finger at Chase, who quickly got up to face her.

- "Oh, shit." Maddie whispered.

- "Do you know what happens when my football players get humiliated?" She rhetorically asked. "No! You don't. Because my football players don't get humiliated!" She yelled as got closer to his face.

As she got closer, Chase leaned back to stay away from the principal's face.

- "They look humiliated to me." Adam said, calmly.

Maddison chuckled, but she stopped instantly when Chase gave her a pleading look, and he mouthed 'stop'. Perry gave Adam and Maddie, an angry look.

An employee took out the garbage and hit the heads of Trent and another footballer with it. Perry's eyes went back to Chase.

- "I know what team spirit is about. Because I was the jammer on the North Pacific roller derby championship team." Perry bragged, smiling and slightly bowing.

- "Quite an accomplishment." The genius boy replied, nervous.

- "Don't mock me, squash face." She said, with her usual mean and intimating voice. "My career ended when a trash talker like you got inside my head and I wiped. One zebra called it the worst single-bodied collision she'd ever seen." The 4'11 principal explained.

- "I'd crash too if I saw a talking zebra." Chase chuckled, nervously.

- "It's a referee, you desk donkey!" She yelled to his face. "Trent told me what you did this morning at breakfast. You will not undermine the morale of my team. Evacuate this table." She pointed at the four kids at the popular table. "Now!"

Maddison and the Davenport-Dooleys got up quickly. Suddenly, Chase straightened his body to tower the short woman. His frightened face turned into a menacing one.

Oh, no. Spike, not now. The Matthews girl thought.

- "Watch who you're talking to, sports bra!" He yelled with his deep voice. "I bet you panicked, threw yourself off the track, and blamed the other team for your weakness." Spike spat.

- "Oh, god." Maddie slapped her forehead.

- "Do you think this Spike thing's gotten a bit out of hand?" Leo asked Bree.

- "He might've crossed the line at sports bra." She, sarcastically, replied.

- "I had to quit because of that accident." Perry explained.

- "Quit? Or move out of the state in shame?" Spike asked.

- "OOOOOH!" All the students in the cafeteria exclaimed, knowing that the poor boy was going to die.

- "Yeah, I'm not staying here to watch him get destroyed." The alien girl whispered to her friends. "Bye."

Maddie walked out the back door as the trio watched her, speechless.

- "He doesn't know! He wasn't there." She yelled as she looked at all the students around.

- "Why don't you hop in your economy car and tootle on home to your six cats and your online bingo tournament." The angry boy said.

- "Jokes on you. I have 5 cats. Ha!" She walked away, embarrassed.

Trent walked up to his principal.

- "You didn't get our table back. Bumming us out. And when we're bummed out, we lose." He whined like a toddler. "Do something."

- "All right, kid." She walked back to Chase, well, Spike. All the football players stood behind her. "I'll make you a deal. Let's be civilized and settle this the old-fashioned way. With a bone-crushing grudge match on the football field!"

Everybody cheered.

- "We're in." Spike answered. "Me..." He pointed at himself. "Him, her..." Then, the green hazel eyes guy pointed at Adam and Bree. "And him." The guy with the deep voice looked disappointed with having a small guy like Leo in his team.

- "You and your band of nobodies versus my fighting dingoes." The principal stated.

- "Who is she calling a nobody?" Bree asked Leo and Adam. "M got me half a BFF necklace, today." The bionic girl showed her necklace to the boys, who looked at her, happy."

- "Winner takes table and all the glory." Perry explained.

- "Oh, ma'am, as much as I'd like to flex my football fanciness." Leo walked up to her and did a football pose. "Girls soccer has the field tonight." He faked, disappointment.

- "Eh, just as well." She sighed. "I can't condone such a violent game on school grounds. So let's take it to the dog park across the street!" The principal explained.

- "Yeah!" The football players yelled as they walked out with Perry.

Leo turned to his siblings.

- "Am I the only one that's gonna need a fresh change of pants before we start?" The small boy asked.

- "No, me too." Adam mouthed as he raised his hand.

- "Who was the pretty girl you were talking to, earlier?" Spike asked Bree.

- "With the glasses?" Bree replied.

- "Yeah." He answered.

- "That's Maddie. She's my best friend since first grade." Leo explained.

Spike nodded.

- "Where is she?" The deep voice boy asked.

- "She left when you were arguing with Perry." Adam said. "She didn't want to watch you get destroyed." He chuckled. Spike took a step forward. Adam gulped and took a step back. "Her words." The tall guy raised his hands.

Spike looked at him, suspiciously.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few minutes before school ended, Spike found himself, in the cafeteria, with Perry again.

- "Your whole life's a disappointment." Perry spat.

- "At least I don't look like a frog!" Spike replied.

- "People love frogs. You look like an owl!" She answered.

- "Owls are wise. You know what else is wise?" He, rhetorically, asked. "Old people like you."

- "Yeah, I'm old." The principal admitted. "Shouldn't you be joining a boy band?"

- "You look like a bulldog!" Spike spat.

- "You look like a poodle!" She said back.

- "People make calendars of poodles. How many bulldog calendars have you seen?" He asked.

- "Ten. I collect 'em." She said, proudly.

- "They must be worth a lot 'cause they're so rare. Speaking of rare, when was your last date?" The deep voice boy questioned.

- "Tuesday." The short woman replied. "We had clams. They looked just like you."

Spike sniffed her, before talking again.

- "Are you sweating? 'Cause I smell gravy."

- "Yeah, well, lucky for us, we already have the turkey!" She pointed at him.

- "Hey, Ireland called. They want their leprechaun back!" He argued.

And they went on, and on for twenty more minutes, before Trent interrupted them for the match.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

At the dogs' park, the four siblings had football clothes of each a different color. Leo was looking at a player from the dingos' team, who was, at least, two heads taller than him. The short boy walked backwards, next to Spike.

- "This doesn't seem fair." He said to Principal Perry, who was dressed as a referee.

- "Seems fair to me. Let's get it on!" She replied and used her whistle.

- "Let's huddle!" Leo exclaimed.

- "Huh?" Adam replied.

- "Pardon me?" Bree asked.

- "I huddled before I got here." Spike said.

- "Oh, man, you guys don't know how to play football." Leo complained. "Okay, we need to stop that team from getting into our end zone and scoring a—"

- "Hike!" A footballer player of the opposite team said, before passing the ball to Trent.

He threw it to the players on the other side. Leo watched the ball passing above him, his eyes followed it. When he turned, a football player tackled him to the ground as Leo screamed in terror.

Ouch. Maddie thought.

She hasn't spoken to Spike, yet, but she was here to support her friends.

- "...touchdown." He said, in pain.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Leo was explaining the rules, while the dingos were huddling.

- "All right, Adam. You squat down right here." Adam obeyed to Leo and squatted. "And when I say, "hike," you're gonna pass the ball between your legs to my hands, which will be right here." Leo explained as his hands were under Adam's butt.

- "Whoa! Hey, it's football. It's not handsball." Adam scoffed and walked away from Leo.

Maddie shook her head, amused.

- "Ready? Break!" The dingos yelled.

- "Hey, nugget head." Spike said as he walked to where Adam, previously, was. "Quit sucking air and hike him the ball like this." He positioned himself as Leo said. "Hike!"

Nugget head? The alien girl laughed to herself.

Leo caught the ball, but two players grabbed him and left him up.

- "Hey!" He complained as he was put in his team's end zone.

- "Safety! Two points!" Trent cheered.

Everybody was complaining about the dingos winning.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

The siblings were huddling.

- "Losing makes me wanna rip out my own intestines and wear 'em as a sweat band." Spike stated with anger.

Oookay. Maddie thought as she listened by using her super hearing.

- "Okay." Leo said. "The only way we're gonna win is if we use your super speed." He pointed Bree. "Your super strength." The small boy showed Adam. "And your super-nutty split personality." He said, less enthusiastic, to Spike, who cheered in silence.

- "I'll do whatever it takes." Bree said. "I already smell like a sweaty ape. I don't want this to be for nothing."

- "Here's what we're gonna do." Leo explained his plan to his siblings.

- "Break!" The siblings said.

- "Whoo! Yeah! Go team! Whoo!" Bree cheered as her brothers were judging her. Maddie laughed. "I'm a football player and a cheerleader. I'm that good."

You, go girl. The alien girl thought.

Perry whistled.

- "Hey! Is that a Biggie Burger truck pulling up?" Leo asked and showed behind the players. Everybody turned around. Bree used her super speed to tie the shoes of the dingos together. "Guess not. Hike!"

Adam passed the ball to Leo, who passed it to Spike.

- "This one is for you, princess!" The deep voice boy yelled in the alien girl's direction. She pointed herself.

- "Me?" Maddie mouthed.

- "Yeah." He winked.

She rolled her eyes, amused. She was never a big fan of the nickname 'princess', but she couldn't turn her back on Chase's alter ego, when he was the only thing connected to the real Chase.

Plus, Spike's cockiness was funny to her.

- "Hey! How'd our shoes get tied together?" Trent complained.

Spike ran through the players and bumped into them, to make them fall.

- "Touchdown!" Leo yelled as Spike entered the dingos' end zone.

Spike roared, before throwing the ball on the ground.

Maddie, excitedly, clapped for her friends.

- "Whoo! Yeah! Whoo!" Adam cheered and danced. "What? If Bree can be a cheerleader, I can too! Whoo hoo!" He started to cheer again.

Bree and Leo joined in and danced with Adam, while Spike shook his head disapprovingly.

- "Oh, god." Maddie laughed as she watched the siblings.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

The siblings were huddling, when Perry sneaked in between Bree and Adam.

- "Seven seconds left. Now remember, kids, there's no shame in losing. Oh, wait. Yes, there is!" The evil woman cackled. "Game on!" She used her whistle and walked away.

- "All right, we have time for one more play. Spike, you scored every touchdown today. You score one more and we win." Leo explained.

- "Give me the ball. If I don't come back with their spleens, you'll know I failed." He walked away with confidence.

- "Go, Chase!" Maddie yelled. She knew that wasn't Chase, but it was not like she could call him Spike in public.

Spike looked at her and smirked. Then, he felt a little weird.

Chase... Her voice played again in his head.

She wanted Chase.

One thousand one.

- "Go, guys!" She yelled again.

One thousand two.

- "Kick their butts, Chase!" She yelled, when she saw him staring at her.

One thousand three.

Chase...

One thousand four.

He smiled fondly.

One thousand five.

- "Wait! Where am I?" Spike's voice turned high. "And am I wearing a jockstrap?" Chase started to wiggle, weirdly.

- "Oh, no. It's Chase." Bree said. "We need Spike back! Where is he? Where is Spike?" She throttled Chase.

Adam wrapped his arms around her stomach and peeled her away from their youngest brother.

Wow, if I need someone to kick butts, I'm definitely calling B. Maddie laughed.

- "Hey, let's go! We don't have all day!" Trent complained. Again.

- "Time out!" Leo yelled.

Perry blew her whistle.

- "I told you. I don't wanna be Spike." Chase said. "Look, I've been waiting for my first day of school for 13 years. And now I don't even remember it." He looked at the ground, sadly.

- "When you put it that way, I just feel selfish." Leo replied.

- "Yeah." Bree agreed.

Adam walked up to Chase and put a hand on his shoulder.

- "Oh, come on! Snap out of it! I wanna win!" The tall guy yelled and throttled his youngest brother.

Maddie walked up to them, and she helped Leo pushing Adam away.

- "Quit it, Adam. Or you'll be the next person to have their ass kicked by me." She said with a menacing look.

Language. Chase thought, with a smile.

Adam gulped and stepped back.

- "No, he's right." Leo said.

- "Come on, guys, we can still win this thing!" Chase exclaimed. "And even if we don't, what do we have to lose?"

- "Our table." Adam replied.

- "Popularity." Bree answered.

- "Everything." Leo stated.

- "Who cares?" Maddison said. "We have each other." She put her arm around Chase's shoulders. "Why would you want to have fake friends who only care about your popularity?" She asked.

She's touching me! Maddie is touching me! Chase had a goofy smile on his face and he saw his sister grinning at him.

- "Come on! We playing football or we playing putt-putt?" Trent laughed.

- "Shut up!" The alien girl shouted.

- "Language." Chase whispered. Maddie snickered and he looked at her, smiling.

- "She's right." Bree said.

- "Just, have fun. I'll be right there cheering for you." Maddison smiled and walked away.

- "Thank you." Chase said, softly.

- "Here's what we're gonna do." Leo said as the team huddled. "I'll do a flea-flicker toss to you." He explained to Chase.

- "And I'll use my mathematical analysis to throw the perfect pass." Chase replied, confidently.

- "Adam, assume the position." The Dooley boy said.

- "All right, this is the last time I'm doing this." Adam warned.

- "Ready? Hike!" Leo caught the ball and passed it to Chase. Adam, Bree, and Leo ran close to the dingos' end zone. Chase avoided a footballer running towards him. "Chase! Over here!"

- "Chase! I'm open! Throw it to me!" The bionic girl yelled.

- "Don't throw it to her! Throw it to me!" Adam yelled too.

- "Chase! Over here!" Bree screamed.

- "Chase! I'm open!" The tall guy screamed.

- "Throw it!" Leo shouted.

- "It's all big scribbles!" Chase shouted back as his brain was mixing everything together.

Two football players ran towards Chase. The genius boy was flipped over, and was soon tackled by the entire football team.

- "Oooh." Maddie said and moved towards her friend to help him get up.

- "Game over! Dingoes win!" Perry yelled.

The players finally got up from Chase. He looked up and saw the blue eyes girl's hand. The genius boy took it and got up on his feet.

- "Just how we met." Maddie chuckled.

- "Yeah. You are helping me get up while I'm on my butt." Chase laughed.

- "Yeah! See ya at the cafeteria, Alpha Duds!" Trent, loudly, said. "Oh! And the pudding's on you." He laughed.

- "Well, we may not be the Alpha Dogs anymore, but at least we still have each other, like Maddie said." Chase smiled. "We're not total nobodies."

- "No, we are total nobodies, but at least I have you four to carry my broken butt home." Leo flopped on the ground.

Maddie rolled her eyes as she grabbed one of his arms. Adam took his other arm. Bree and Chase took his legs. The four picked Leo up and carried him away.
