Universe 38

Thursday, 29th December 2016

Four days later, the two heroes were in the alien bar.

- "Excuse me? Oh, hi." Kara saw a man bent behind the counter. "Could we... Could we just please have two club soda?"

Mon-El got up.

- "Hey." He smiled.

- "Hi." Maddie frowned.

- "Hi." The Danvers woman raised her eyebrows.

- "Hi." The Matthews man smiled.

- "That's your new job?" The Matthews girl asked.

- "Wait, you work here?" The Kryptonian frowned.

- "I do. Since yesterday." The Daxamite nodded. "Yeah, you know after the, um... Gosh, after the incident, they were a little short-staffed, so I took a job. And you know, I like alcohol. I've been known to like alcohol. So I just really feel like this is gonna be a great job for me."

- "I'm proud of you." The quadbrid said.

Mon-El smiled happily.

- "Well, I'm glad someone's feeling like they fit in somewhere." Kara added.

- "Oh, that's a sad sound?" The Matthews man asked. "You wanna tell me what's going on? Huh? Come on, talk to me." He gave them their drinks. "I am a bartender now."

- "I've just been feeling betwixt and between of late." The Danvers woman replied.

- "Betwixt and between?" Maddie frowned.

- "Yes. But, a story came across my desk today. A missing girl. I'm gonna find her." The Kryptonian nodded.

- "Can I help?" The Matthews girl questioned.

- "I was going to ask you." Kara smiled softly.

- "Let's find her." The quadbrid smiled back.

- "Can I offer you some unsolicited advice?" The Daxamite asked.

- "Do I?" The Danvers woman frowned.

- "If you go looking for trouble... Trouble... Ye shall find." Mon-El said.

- "Wow." Maddie chuckled.

- "Thank you for the completely useless advice." The Kryptonian replied. She took a sip of her drink and spat it out in her glass. "That's not club soda."

- "Yeah, what exactly is club soda?" The Matthews man asked.

Kara got up and ran to Maggie.

- "Not this." The Matthews girl frowned. "Try to find what are the drinks you serve here."

- "I'm gonna do that." The Daxamite nodded.

The quadbrid got up and followed her mentor.

- "Thanks for meeting me." The Danvers woman said.

- "Hey, Maggie." Maddie smiled.

The three women sat down.

- "Hey, Maddie. And always happy to help a Danvers." The Sawyer woman replied. "Here is the missing persons report on Izzy Williams that we have." She handed a USB drive. "But unfortunately... It's not that much."

- "Well, any little bit helps." The Kryptonian said.

- "You know, it's funny you asked for that." The detective added.

- "Why?" The Matthews girl frowned.

- "Well, we've just had a spike in missing persons over the last few weeks." Maggie said.

- "Do you have any theories?" Kara asked. "Serial killer? Kidnappings?"

- "Serial killers have patterns, kidnappers have motive." The Sawyer woman explained. "But what's odd is that there's nothing to connect these disappearances. There's Izzy Williams, a father of four, a college student, the list goes on."

- "And they've all disappeared." The quadbrid said.

- "Where are they?" The Danvers woman frowned.

- "They must have something in common." Maddie replied.

- "Yes, but what?" The detective asked.

A few minutes later, the two heroes arrived at the D.E.O.

They walked up to Winn, who was wearing sunglasses.

- "Hey, Winn, I need you to look at the people on this flash drive." Kara said. "They're all missing. Can you check for, uh, links between them, their histories? Are you aware that you're wearing sunglasses indoors?"

- "I think he is." Maddie nodded.

- "The future is so very bright." The Schott man replied. The Matthews girl rolled her glasses and took off his glasses, revealing a black eye. "Hey! No, no, no."

The two women gasped.

- "What happened to you?" The Danvers woman asked.

- "I got mugged." The tech guy said. "It's fine."

- "You don't look fine." The quadbrid added.

- "Why didn't you tell me?" The Kryptonian questioned.

- "I will have that info for you very shortly." Winn replied.

- "Hey." Alex walked in, smiling widely.

- "Hi." Kara replied, before raising her eyebrows as she saw the smile on her sister's face. "Hi. Hi!"

- "What?" The older Danvers frowned.

- "Look at you." The younger Danvers chuckled.

- "What?" The right hand asked.

The two sisters started to whisper as Maddie put a soundproof shield around the Schott man and herself.

- "So, what happened?" She questioned.

- "Nothing." The tech guy replied.

- "I put the shield." The Matthews girl crossed her arms. "Is there something to do with Guardian?"

- "One of the criminals hit me." Winn sighed.

- "Damn, he didn't miss." The quadbrid frowned.

- "I know." The Schott man nodded. "Put the shield down."

- "Okay." Maddie put down the shield.

- "Okay." The tech guy turned to the sisters.

- "Oh! Hey, what happened to you?" Alex asked.

- "I got mugged, and I'm fine." Winn smiled. "And it hurts to smile. Okay, so there is a connection between those people on your list. They all had blood work done a few days before they disappeared."

- "Blood work?" The Kryptonian frowned. "That's weird."

- "It's missing persons. Do you want me to come with you?" The older Danvers questioned, excitedly.

- "No, no." Kara shook her head. "I have Maddie. You just keep on glowing."

- "Okay." The right hand nodded.

Later, the two heroes were walking towards the elevator of CatCo to leave. Both were looking down.

- "You would not believe the size of those mutton chops, it was..." Mike started. "Hey, Maddie. Hey, Kara."

- "Hey, bro." Maddie replied.

- "Hey." Kara added.

- "Um..." The Matthews man frowned as they walked past him.

- "Wait." The Danvers woman frowned and turned around.

- "What are you doing here?" The Matthews girl asked.

- "I took the day off." The Daxamite said.

- "It's your second day." The Kryptonian frowned.

- "Yeah, didn't wanna overdo it." Mike shrugged.

The quadbrid chuckled. He's so lazy.

- "So lunch?" The Matthews man asked.

- "No, actually, we're working." Kara replied.

- "Oh, great. I'll come with you." The Daxamite said.

- "No, not again." Maddie shook her head.

- "Yeah. I don't think so." The Danvers woman added.

The two entered the elevator.

- "Oh, come on! Come on, it'll be fun." Mike replied. "You wanna find that missing girl, right? Hey, three heads are always better than two, right? Except on the planet Barvex, because they have two-headed cannibals."

The Matthews girl chuckled.

- "Fine. Fine." The Kryptonian sighed.

- "Yes." The Matthews man walked in.

- "Just keep your mouth shut." Kara replied.

- "He can't." The quadbrid said.

After a couple of seconds, the door closed.

- "Have I told you about the first time..." The Daxamite started.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few minutes later, the trio was waiting in the waiting area of the blood work facility.

Mike laughed as he read a magazine.

- "Question, do you think I'm more of a Goofus, or more of a Gallant?" He asked.

- "Goofus." The two women, simultaneously, replied.

- "Well, well, well, well, well." A man walked in. "Hello."

He was a 5'11 white man with blue eyes and brown hair.

The trio got up.

I can't read his mind, damn it. Maddie thought. Or he has a blocker like all bad guys, or he's an alien.

- "Hi." She said.

- "Hi." Kara smiled.

- "Hello." The Matthews man added.

- "They told me three strapping young people, two millennials and one gen z, had dropped by, and here you are." The doctor said.

- "Yes, we, uh, we work out a lot." The Daxamite chuckled.

- "Yeah, we just wanted to, uh, get a better idea of what you do here before jumping in." The Danvers woman added.

- "We looked at your website, it just said you can make some quick cash." The Matthews girl continued.

- "Yeah, and we're trying to save up for a trip to Paris city." Mike wrapped his arm around the Kryptonian's back.

- "It's just Paris." She whispered.

- "Paris." The Matthews man repeated in a murmur.

- "And I'm trying to save up for college." The quadbrid added.

- "Well, we're running a clinical trial on a new-to-market supplement." The older man explained.

- "Oh!" Kara nodded.

- "We're just looking to examine the effect of the supplement on base metabolic rates." The doctor continued as he handed them forms to fill. "So, all we need to do is some blood work, and we'll have you in and out, and off to Paris city and college in no time."

- "Um, well, actually, we can't give blood." The Danvers woman said. "That is..."

- "Don't be ashamed, it's what we believe in." Maddie replied. "That's against our religion, sir."

- "Yes." The Kryptonian nodded.

- "Yes, we are very religious." The Daxamite continued. "Very into our gods."

God. Just one. The Matthews girl sent his mind.

- "One God. We are madly monotheistic." Mike chuckled.

- "Well, you three look young and healthy enough." The older man said. "Let's give it the old college try, shall we?" He led them to another room. "How did you hear about our study? We have a recruiter, but she didn't tell me to expect anyone today."

- "Well, actually, a friend of mine told us about it." Kara lied. "It's weird, I haven't heard from her since she came here."

They walked in front of a large machine, covered by a black sheet.

- "You, stand here." The doctor replied.

- "Okay." The Danvers woman nodded.

- "And you stand here." The older man pointed at one spot where the quadbrid stood. "You. Stand here." He pointed at another for the Matthews man.

- "Well, maybe you remember her. Izzy Williams?" The Kryptonian asked.

- "Yeah, she did come through here." The doctor unveiled the large device, which was clearly not human.

He's an alien. Maddie nodded.

- "What is that?" The Daxamite frowned.

The older man pressed a few buttons and the machine activated.

- "You said you wanted to travel." He smirked as his cyber mask deactivated, revealing his green skin full of scales.

Three men walked behind the trio and put their hands on their shoulders.

The Matthews girl grabbed his hand and made him flip on his back.

Kara turned around and punched the man behind her, before kicking him against a column.

Mike punched the man behind him, knocking him out.

The doctor growled and ran through the portal.

The two women took off their glasses and changed into their suits.

- "Go to the D.E.O." The quadbrid ordered.

- "I just..." The Matthews man started as the women threw their plain clothes and glasses at him.

- "Tell Alex what happened and make sure a strike team follows us." The Danvers woman continued. "We're going in there."

- "Right, um..." The Daxamite nodded. "We don't know what's on the other side."

- "Izzy's on the other side and that's all that matters." Kryptonian said.

- "Wait, no..." Mike started as the two heroes ran in the portal.

They arrived on another planet covered of rocks.

A, alien from the same species as the doctor tackled Supergirl to the ground and GreatGirl kicked him away from her.

Ow. She frowned and looked at the red sun. Fuck, we don't have our powers anymore.

The villain tried to punch her, but she ducked.

The Matthews girl punched the man, making him fall to the ground, unconscious.

- "Ah, damn it." She held her bloody hand.

Another villain ran towards her from behind.

- "GreatGirl, behind you." The Danvers woman got up and punched him, knocking him out. "Ahh!" She groaned in pain as she held her bloody fist.

One of the men got up and pointed at gun at them, but Mon-El walked through the portal, grabbed him and threw him on the ground, before punching him unconscious.

- "You've got to be kidding me?!" The quadbrid yelled.

- "What're you doing here?" The Kryptonian asked.

- "Uh, I thought you might need my help." The Matthews man got up.

- "We told you to warn the others and you follow us. AGAIN!" GreatGirl yelled. "After everything that happened in Harper's universe, you do it again?"

The Daxamite rolled his eyes.

- "I'm your older brother. I'll follow you everywhere you might need me." He said.

- "That's cute." The Matthews girl sighed.

- "Hey, you two are bleeding." Mon-El frowned.

- "That is a red sun." Supergirl pointed at the sky.

- "Like on Krypton and Daxam." The Matthews man added.

- "And we get our powers from the radiation of a yellow sun, so that means..." The quadbrid continued.

- "No powers." The Daxamite said.

- "No powers." The Danvers woman sighed, frustrated.

- "We need to get out of here." Mon-El turned towards the portal, which closed. "Well, now who's gonna help us?"

GreatGirl walked towards the small console and tried to make it work.

- "I can't turn it on." She sighed.

- "We have to get it to work." The Matthews man said.

- "I'm trying." The Matthews girl rolled her eyes. "We'll just use my powers. Thank God, I still this power."

- "Nobody knows we're here!" The Daxamite exclaimed.

- "That's why I told you to get my sister." The Kryptonian replied.

- "You know what? It doesn't matter who's to blame. We just need to get back to Earth." Mon-El said.

- "Aliens brought those people to this planet, and we're gonna find out why and save them." Supergirl explained.

- "Let's go." The quadbrid added.

The two women started to walk away.

- "Um, could you maybe just think about saving us for a second?" The Matthews man followed them.

- "No one told you to come here!" The Danvers woman yelled.

- "Again!" GreatGirl added.

- "In fact, we specifically told you to not come." The Kryptonian replied.

- "Okay, and let's say we do find them. The portal is closed." The Daxamite said.

- "We'll use my Calderan power." The Matthews girl shrugged.

The trio heard a distant noise.

- "What's that?" Supergirl asked.

- "Sounds like a short-range shuttle." Mon-El replied. "That's a troop transport. Where is it going?"

- "It's probably headed there." The quadbrid pointed at an alien castle.

- "Yeah, so we're going..." The Matthews man pointed to the other direction.

- "After it." The Danvers woman said.

The two heroes walked away.

- "No. No, No, No." The Daxamite followed them. "We are going away from Murder Castle because we don't have our powers anymore."

- "And?" GreatGirl raised her eyebrows as she continued to walk.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few minutes later, the trio was still walking on the new planet.

- "You know how on Earth they rate everything?" Mon-El asked. "One-star. This is a one-star."

GreatGirl chuckled.

- "I used to love going to other planets with my parents." Supergirl said. "They'd take me to the pretty ones, though. Not like this. We'd spend solstices on Sedenach."

- "Oh, yeah. The Bismuth mountains?" The Matthews man asked.

- "Yeah." The Danvers woman nodded. "Yeah, they'd grow right underneath our feet."

- "Yeah." The Daxamite nodded.

- "It's all those crystal staircases raising us up." The Kryptonian continued.

- "That sounds beautiful." The Matthews girl smiled.

- "It was." Supergirl nodded.

- "Took a girl there once. It's a great spot, you know." Mon-El added, before looking down at his foot.

- "Yeah, I remember from your mind." The quadbrid scoffed.

The two women continued to walk.

- "Uh, Kara, Rox?" The Matthews man called out.

- "What?" The Danvers woman turned around. "Oh, come on, now you won't follow us?"

- "Um, I can't. My leg is stuck." The Daxamite said.

His leg was stuck in a trap.

- "What is this?" The Kryptonian frowned.

The two women crouched down and tried to open the trap, but it did not move.

- "This is useless." GreatGirl sighed.

A bullet was shot in the sky, making the trio look up to see an alien pointing a gun at them.

The trio raised their hands.

- "This planet sucks." Mon-El said.

- "Couldn't agree more." The Matthews girl added.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, the sun had set, and the trio was brought into a tent by the other alien.

- "It's Thanagarian snare beast." Mon-El murmured to the women. "And we're the next course."

- "Jo Gunraf does not eat bipeds." Jo replied.

- "Thank God." GreatGirl whispered.

- "So you speak English?" The Matthews man asked.

- "Oh, yes. Jo dissected a human once." The Gunraf man explained.

- "Of course he did." The Daxamite mumbled.

- "Learned your tongue." Jo frowned, in disgust. "Hideous pink thing."

- "Eh, Jo... Jo, is it?" Supergirl questioned as he nodded.

She got up and the Gunraf man reached for his weapon.

- "Easy." The Matthews girl raised her hands. "We promise, we are not here to hurt you."

- "We just..." The Danvers woman took out the missing poster and handed it to him. "We want to help this girl."

Jo snatched it out of her hands.

- "They brought her through portal. They took her to the Red Fortress where they sell carbon forms like you." He explained.

They what?! The quadbrid frowned.

- "Sell them like animals." The Gunraf man continued.

- "They've been kidnapping those people and selling them as slaves." The Kryptonian turned to the siblings.

- "Slaving is a big business on Maaldoria." Jo said.

- "Maaldoria?" GreatGirl frowned.

- "Wait, this is Maaldoria?" Mon-El asked.

- "You know where we are?" Supergirl questioned.

- "The locals call it Slavers' Moon." The Matthews man said.

- "The royal family on Daxam used to buy their slaves here." The Matthews girl added.

- "I forgot they had slavery on Daxam." The Danvers woman sighed.

- "There were a lot of things there I didn't agree with." The Daxamite defended.

- "We know." The two women nodded.

- "We have to leave." Mon-El said.

- "No." The Kryptonian shook her head.

- "Absolutely not." The quadbrid frowned.

- "We have to." The Matthews man replied.

- "No, we have to find the people we came here for." Supergirl said.

- "No finding girl." The Gunraf man got up. "Fortress bad. Many weapons. No way out. No way in."

- "There is one way." GreatGirl smirked.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few minutes, the trio entered the Fortress, their hands in the air.

- "We surrender." Supergirl said.

The army of Maaldorians pointed their guns at them.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few seconds later, the doctors and the armed guards led them to a cell with the kidnapped humans.

The guards pushed the weapons on the trio's back to make them walk.

- "Yeah, yeah. I got it." Mon-El said.

- "Don't touch him." GreatGirl glared at them.

The Matthews man took his sister's hand as the trio entered the cell and an electrical barrier locked them in.

- "Hey." Supergirl frowned.

- "At least we got them right where we want them." The Daxamite said.

The Matthews girl sighed and looked at the prisoners. There she is. She looked at a 5'8 white girl with blonde hair and dark brown eyes.

- "She's here." She whispered to her mentor.

- "Izzy?" The Danvers woman turned around. "Are you Izzy Williams?"

- "Supergirl, you... you know who I am?" Izzy walked up to her.

- "Your mother is looking for you." The quadbrid said.

- "You know my mother?" The Williams girl asked.

- "Uh... A friend of ours is a reporter and... Your mother persuaded her to find out what happened to you." The Kryptonian explained. "And she told us, that's why we're here."

- "You can save us. You can just knock down the walls." Izzy said, hopeful.

- "You're gonna get us all home!" A man walked up to them.

He was a 5'11 brown man with black hair and dark brown eyes.

- "We can't." GreatGirl sighed. "We don't have our powers on this planet. And there is a portal blocker." She pointed at the ceiling.

- "But we will help you." Supergirl added. "All of you. We promise."

- "Supergirl and GreatGirl." Veronica walked in. "In my cage again."

- "Roulette?" The two heroes frowned.

- "Of course, you're behind all of this." The Matthews girl scoffed.

- "We have got to stop meeting like this." The Sinclair woman smirked. "Well, if this isn't déjà vu."

- "Why are you here?" The Danvers woman asked.

- "Yeah." Mon-El added. "Wait, who is this?" He whispered to his sister.

- "Alien fight club owner." The quadbrid murmured.

- "Ah. Okay. Carry on." The Matthews man nodded.

- "I'm here because of you." Roulette said. "You dismantled my club. I had nowhere else to go. So imagine my excitement when one of my fighters told me about Slavers' Moon. I jumped at the opportunity to help expand its market."

- "You are treating this like..." The Kryptonian sighed. "Like you're selling coffee!"

- "You are selling people!" GreatGirl yelled. "People are not meant to be sold."

- "I've taken human trafficking to the next level." Veronica continued. "These are prime specimens that can survive a lifetime of labor. They're good stock. And they'll sell for top dollar."

- "It's blood money." Supergirl said.

- "I don't think she cares." The Matthews girl glared at her.

- "I don't." The Sinclair woman shook her head. "And it's blood diamonds, actually." She looked at the diamond bracelet on her wrist. "This planet's lousy with them. They're like dirt to these Maaldorians."

The doctor walked in with a Dominator.

- "How does this day keep getting worse?" The quadbrid frowned.

- "Oh, man, I hate these guys." The Danvers woman glared at the villain.

The Dominator spoke to Roulette. He was talking to her in his language, but she heard the translation in her head.

- "Oh, shit." GreatGirl murmured.

- "Good news, everybody." Veronica turned to the prisoners with a smile. "You've all been sold."

- "Oh great." The Matthews girl, sarcastically, smiled.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few seconds later, the villains had walked away.

- "Okay, listen." Supergirl started. "I know that you're all scared."

- "But we're going to find a way out of here. Don't worry." GreatGirl said.

- "Psst!" Mon-El replied from afar.

The two heroes frowned and turned to him.

- "Did you just 'Psst'?" The Danvers woman asked.

- "Yeah." The Matthews man gestured to them to come closer, but neither moved. "Come here." The two heroes walked closer to him. "So, we're stuck in the most dangerous planet in the galaxy. We don't have our powers, and you're optimistic how?"

- "Because they need us to be." The Matthews girl shrugged.

- "See, this is what I've been telling you, Kara, Rox." The Daxamite replied. "You know, if you go looking for trouble, you will always find it. And you do. You're like the winners at it."

- "That's what heroes do." The Kryptonian said. "They fight. They don't sit and hide in a bar because it's easier than getting involved."

- "I'm not hiding, I'm being smart." Mon-El defended. "It's a dangerous universe. And why do you have to be the one who saves everyone every time?"

- "Because our worlds may have been destroyed, but we were spared for a reason." Supergirl replied.

- "And because we have this amazing powers that can actually help and save people. Why not use them?" The quadbrid asked.

- "Ah, luck." The Matthews man replied.

- "I refuse to believe that." GreatGirl shook her head. "I believe you keep fighting. Whether you're stuck on another world, whether you stuck in another universe, whether you lost everything and everyone, whether or not you have your powers, you never give in to the bad guys."

- "That's the difference between you and us." The Danvers woman added.

The doctor walked in with Veronica and armed guards.

- "It's time to go, Earthlings." He deactivated the barrier. Everyone, but the two heroes, walked backwards. "Move."

The two heroes extended their arms and locked their hands to block them from getting to the humans and the Daxamite.

- "No." The, simultaneously, said.

The doctor gestured to the guards to move, so they electrocuted the two heroes, who screamed in pain as they fell onto their knees.

- "Hey, hey!" Mon-El yelled as he walked up to them.

One of the guards hit him in the face with his weapon, making him fall back.

The Matthews girl frowned, angrily.

The two heroes stood up and blocked the path again.

- "Move!" The doctor shouted.

- "No!" The two heroes yelled.

The two guards electrocuted them again, making them fall to their knees, screaming again.

- "Don't touch them!" The Matthews man shouted as he punched one of the guards, making him stumble back.

The second guard hit him in the face with his gun, making him fall to the ground.

- "Hit them again." The doctor ordered.

The two guards electrocuted the two heroes, who fell the ground, screaming in agony.

- "Let's go!" Izzy yelled.

The Daxamite and the humans attacked the three villains all together.

Mon-El, repeatedly, punched a guard until he was unconscious on the ground.

The two heroes sat up.

The Williams girl helped the Kryptonian up.

The Matthews man helped his sister up and hugged her.

- "You're okay?" He asked.

- "Just a little in pain. But it's fine." The quadbrid replied.

- "You didn't give up, so neither will we." Izzy looked at the heroes.

- "Thank you." Supergirl said.

GreatGirl smiled softly.

- "Let's get them in the cell." She added.

All the prisoners walked out of the cell, and they pushed Veronica and the doctor in the cell instead.

The Matthews girl dragged the unconscious guards in it as well.

- "And you can stand right there." The Daxamite pointed at a spot on the ground.

- "Well, now what?" The Williams girl asked.

- "Now we get the hell out of here." The Danvers woman replied. "Go, go."

The humans ran out as the quadbrid activated the barrier.

- "Bye-bye." She waved and followed the others.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few minutes later, they were running in the hallways trying to find the exit.

- "Hey, give me that. Give me that." Mon-El said to a man, who was holding one of the Maaldorians weapon. "Go, go." He stayed behind everyone to protect them.

He shot at the guard, who was following them, knocking him out.

The Matthews man smirked and ran after the others.

- "Through here. Through here." GreatGirl pointed at a direction.

- "Go, go, go." Supergirl exclaimed.

The humans ran past them as the two heroes stayed back with the Daxamite, who shot at another guard.

Another guard shot the weapon out of his hand, making him fall to the ground.

- "Move, move, move! Come on, we gotta hurry!" The Danvers woman yelled as she led the humans out.

The guard looked at Mon-El and pointed at the heroes instead.

- "Through here. This way. Come on, go, go." The Matthews girl said.

The Matthews man saw his hesitation and got up, blocking the way.

- "Hurry. Make it through. Come on. Let's go, let's go." The Kryptonian continued.

The Dominator lowered the weapon of the guard.

- "Not him. He is not to be armed." He said in a language only the quadbrid and the Maaldorian understood.

GreatGirl frowned as she heard from afar. The fuck?

- "Move, move!" Supergirl yelled.

The Dominator bowed to the Daxamite, who frowned, confused.

- "Come on, run! Go, go." The Matthews girl added.

- "Let's hurry." The Danvers woman continued.

- "Mon-El, come on!" The quadbrid yelled.

Mon-El turned around from the villains and ran after his heroes and the humans.

- "What were you doing?" The Kryptonian asked as they ran.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few seconds later, the two aliens and the humans arrived at the entry where several D.E.O. agents, including Alex, were waiting for them.

- "Hey, we know her." Mon-El smiles.

The older Danvers ran to her sister and hugged her tightly.

- "You found us?" Supergirl asked, surprised.

- "Always." The right hand replied. "We gotta hurry up. Winn's waiting for us."

- "Wait. You brought Winn to space?" GreatGirl frowned.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

A few seconds later, they all ran to the portal.

- "Winn!" Supergirl yelled.

- "Supergirl! GreatGirl! Look, I'm a badass!" Winn pointed at the unconscious Maaldorian on the floor.

- "Start the car!" Mon-El shouted. "Start the car!"

The Schott man pressed a button and the portal activated.

- "Go, go, go, go, go." GreatGirl pointed at the portal.

All the humans ran through it.

- "Go, go. Go. Come on." The younger Danvers added.

- "In the portal." The Matthews man continued.

- "Go. Go." Alex said.

A Maaldorian tried to shoot them, but Jo shot him first.

- "Jo help carbon forms." He explained. "Carbon forms get Jo off planet forever?"

- "Yes, yes, and carbon forms agree." The Matthews girl nodded. "Just go."

- "Hello." The Gurnaf man looked at the older Danvers, then at the Daxamite. "Hello." He walked through the portal.

- "Hum, guys..." The quadbrid pointed at the large spaceship coming towards them.

- "Winn, that is a big spaceship. Go." The Kryptonian said.

The tech guy ran through the portal.

- "Oh..." The right hand started.

- "Crap." Mon-El finished.

- "Supergirl! GreatGirl! Please help!" Izzy shouted as a Maaldorian was carrying her away.

- "Izzy!" Supergirl yelled.

The two heroes ran after her.

- "No, no, wait!" The Matthews man shouted.

- "Let's hope this thing works." Alex took out a device from her pocket.

She activated it and threw it.

It exploded, looking like the yellow sun.

The two heroes regained their powers and flew high.

- "What was that?" The Daxamite asked.

- "It's a yellow sun grenade." The older Danvers smiled. "Little taste of home."

GreatGirl used her heat vision on the ship and made it explode.

- "Nice!" Mon-El exclaimed.

The younger Danvers used her heat vision to make her eyes turn red, making the Maaldorian let go of the Williams girl and run away in fear.

The two heroes landed next to her.

- "Let's go." The Kryptonian said. "Go, go, go! Go through."

Everyone, but the two heroes, ran through it.

They looked back at the planet, before following the others.

The Matthews girl used her heat vision to destroy the control of the portal.

- "We did it." The Matthews man smiled.

Everyone applaud the two heroes.

- "Oh, I'm so glad you're okay." Supergirl, quickly, hugged Izzy, before going to the others. "Hey, thanks for the recharge." She wrapped an arm around her sister.

- "No, it was all this guy's idea." The right hand pointed at J'onn.

- "I couldn't make the trip myself, so I thought I'd send a little sun along." He said. "Welcome home, Supergirl and GreatGirl."

He hugged both of them.

- "Thanks, J'onn." The quadbrid smiled.

- "Earth smells funny." Jo said. "Always smell like this?"

The trio laughed as everyone else frowned, confused.

The next day, Mon-El walked up to his sister in their apartment.

- "Rox?" He called out.

- "Yes?" Maddie looked at him.

- "I want to become a superhero." The Matthews man said.

- "Really?" The Matthews girl frowned.

- "Yeah. I want to help, and I want to make you proud." The Daxamite added.

The quadbrid smiled and hugged her brother.

- "What is that for?" Mon-El chuckled.

- "Just... I'm proud of you." Maddie shrugged in his arms.

The Matthews man smiled and hugged her tighter.

- "I love you." He said.

- "I love you too." The Matthews girl smiled.

Later, in the evening, Maddie was in her apartment when Mia walked in.

- "You have to stop coming in like that." The Matthews girl chuckled as she put Marie down.

- "Never." The Krillin woman said. "I was so worried about you." She hugged her best friend.

- "I'm okay, Mia." The quadbrid smiled softly.

- "You need to tell me when you're gonna disappear like that." The Agotarian replied.

- "Mia, I won't abandon you." Maddie put her hands on her shoulders. "I miss the Davenports, but I'm happy here. I won't leave you. I'm not Ella. I will always be your best friend, even when you are sick of me."

- "Okay." Mia smiled softly. "I love you, whore."

The Matthews girl gasped.

- "I love you too, slut." She said.

The Krillin woman threw a pillow in her face.

The two women laughed.

In the meanwhile, on the floor above, Kara was in her apartment when someone knocked.

- "Hi." She smiled as she opened.

Mon-El was standing there with a bottle of club soda.

- "Club soda." He said.

- "I see, thank you." The Danvers woman chuckled and took the bottle.

- "I found it." The Matthews man closed the door behind himself. "You look cozy and comfortable."

- "Well, I am." The Kryptonian replied.

- "So you still feeling betwixt and between?" The Daxamite asked.

- "No, no, I feel amazing." Kara smiled.

- "Good, good." Mon-El nodded.

- "So what brings you by?" The Danvers woman sat on her couch as she put a blanket on her legs.

- "Oh, you know, some shopping. A little evening stroll." The Matthews man sat on the opposite side of the couch. "No, I, um..." He cleared his throat as he put the rest of the blanket on his own legs. "There we are."

The Kryptonian chuckled.

- "I was wrong. That's what I wanted to..." The Daxamite started.

- "About?" Kara asked. "Because the list of things you were wrong about is, is, it's long."

- "Yes, long list." Mon-El nodded. "Um, I... About getting involved. And then I saw you and Rox with those people and... There wasn't much to inspire me on Daxam."

- "What about your parents?" The Danvers woman questioned.

- "I love them, but they weren't worth admiring." The Matthews man shook his head. "But I wanna be, and I want to make Rox proud. So that's the next thing. I've made a decision."

- "Sounds decisive." The Kryptonian listened closely.

- "It's very decisive." The Daxamite snickered. "I wanna be a superhero."

- "Say what?" Kara smiled.

- "Like you. Like Rox. With a name and an outfit, maybe a cape." Mon-El said.

- "You want the suit." The Danvers woman replied, amused.

- "No. No. I mean, yes." The Matthews man continued, making his crush chuckled softly. "I want the suit, but no, no, I wanna... I wanna get my hands dirty, you know, like I wanna do something."

- "You're serious?" The Kryptonian frowned.

- "Yeah." The Daxamite nodded.

- "If you take this road, easy is over." Kara said.

- "Well, I don't want easy." Mon-El replied.

- "Cape can get heavy sometime." The Danvers woman continued.

- "I want a heavy cape." The Matthews man nodded.

- "Come on." The Kryptonian laughed.

- "I wanna help you and Rox, keep the world spinning." The Daxamite explained. "To prove that I was spared for a reason."

- "You're gonna have to listen to me." Kara said.

Mon-El sighed.

- "I will listen to you." He replied, behind his hand, making her laugh. "I will, I will. This time I will."

- "Well, you got me something, it's funny. I got you something, too." The Danvers woman reached for something next to the coffee table.

- "You got me something?" The Matthews man asked.

- "Yes." The Kryptonian took the magazine from the day before out of a paper bag.

The Daxamite burst out laughing.

- "Wow!" He took it. "For me? My very own?"

- "Mmm-hmm! Mmm-hmm." Kara nodded, amused.

- "Can I ask why?" Mon-El questioned.

- "Yesterday, you were a little less Goofus, and a little more Gallant." The Danvers woman said.

The Matthews man smiled.

- "You noticed? I'll take it." He replied.

The Kryptonian extended her fist and the Daxamite bumped it with his.

In the meanwhile, on Maaldoria, the aliens were cleaning the damages when the two masked figures teleported in front of him.

- "May I help you?" The doctor asked. The masked woman showed a picture of Mon-El on a device. "He's not here. He left."

- "Where?" She asked. "Where is Mon-El of Daxam?"

- "Earth. He's gone to Earth." The Maaldorian replied. The masked man took out a gun. "No!" He yelled before he was shot, turning into particles.
