Universe 124
Sunday, 8th January 2017
Four days later, in the other universe, Bree was sitting on the couch, writing emails on her computer.
Maxwell was sleeping next to her while Chase was looking over her shoulder.
- "Chase, why are you lurking?" The hybrid asked, irritated. "Do you not have anything better to do?"
- "Would I be reading your private emails if I had anything better to do?" The genius boy frowned, annoyed, before sitting next to her. "By the way, typo, third line down."
The Davenport girl closed her laptop.
- "Hey Bree, want to get a frozen yogurt?" Skylar walked out of the Hyper-Lift.
- "Absolutely!" The green hazel-eyed boy jumped off the couch.
- "She was talking to me." Bree frowned as she got up.
- "Why can't I go, too?" Chase frowned.
- "Because you'll make us get sugar-free." The hybrid said. "Why are you being so needy?"
- "Ever since I stopped being mission leader, I've been so bored. And since you and Douglas locked me out of Mission Command for today and Mads is not here. I don't know what to do." The genius boy explained. "It's amazing how much time you have on your hands when you're not telling everyone else what to do."
- "You're gonna find her and spend your entire days with her, just like before." The Davenport girl patted his back.
- "Maybe you need a hobby in the meanwhile." The Calderan suggested. "What do you enjoy doing?"
- "Telling everyone else what to do." The green hazel-eyed boy shrugged with a side smile.
- "Later, Chase." The Storm girl patted his back and walked out with her girlfriend.
The childhood best friends walked down the stairs with their tablets.
- "Hey, guys, what are you up to?" Chase asked.
- "Watching football." Kaz turned on the TV. "Our fantasy teams are going head-to-head today.
Epic!" He extended his hand.
- "Epic!" Oliver high-fived him.
- "I like epic!" The genius boy raised his hand.
The childhood best friend looked at each other, awkwardly.
- "Oh, uh..." The Evers boy sat next to the cat and petted him.
- "Yeah, no offense, Chase." The Karev boy sat down. "But, uh, this is kinda like our tradition. Between us. Him and me."
- "Gotcha." The green hazel-eyed boy nodded. "So how do we play?" He sat next to Maxwell and the blue-eyed boy.
- "Fantasy football isn't really played. The players' stats are given a point value..." He started.
- "Hey, this looks like math." Chase said.
- "What? Where? Get it off!" The brown-eyed boy touched the screen of his tablet.
- "If I'm right, and I always am." The genius boy smirked. "You take the statistics and probabilities of the players based on previous numbers and extrapolate the outcomes."
- "No, you don't." Kaz scoffed. "You see how well they played before, then pick them based off of that."
- "Alright, but according to my formula, you should've started this guy." The green hazel-eyed boy touched his friend's screen. "'Cause he's gonna score right about..." He pointed at the screen and the crows started to cheer. Maxwell jumped out of the couch and walked away. "Now." He smirked.
- "You're a football genius." The Karev boy said. "Epic!" He extended his hand.
- "Epic!" Chase high-fived him and sat closer to him, before putting his forearm on his shoulder.
- "I like epic." Oliver raised his hands, but the two youngest did not move.
Awkward, isn't it? The genius boy smiled.

Three days later, the two youngest were in Mission Command, working on a blueprint.
- "Kaz?" Oliver walked in. "Where have you been? We were supposed to see the movie three hours ago."
Oooh. That's not cool. Chase frowned.
- "Oh, right, the movie." Kaz said. "Didn't you get my text?"
- "No." The Evers boy took out his phone. "The last text you sent me is a picture of your inner elbow that looks like a butt."
- "It must've been before that." The Karev boy replied.
- "Nope." The blue-eyed boy shook his head. "Just a picture of your knee butt, shoulder butt, and what I'm hoping is your toe butt."
- "Okay, you caught me." The brown-eyed boy said. "I forgot."
- "Dude, we've had plans to see this movie for weeks." Oliver replied.
- "Uh, it's my fault." The genius boy continued. "Kaz and I have been hanging out all day." He put his hand on his friend's shoulder.
- "Yeah, ever since Chase stopped being mission leader, he's a lot more fun." Kaz added.
- "I really am." The green hazel-eyed boy chuckled as he smiled widely.
- "This guy? Tightwad McSciencehead?" The Evers boy frowned.
Chase thought. That is such a ridiculous nickname.
- "Yeah." The Karev boy said. "So we found out about a drone race they're having in the park this weekend, so we entered, and now, we are building our own drone."
- "Well, what about me? Did you ever think I'd like to build a drone?" The blue-eyed boy asked.
- "You can help us..." The genius boy started.
- "I don't wanna build a drone!" Oliver yelled.
Okay! The green hazel-eyed boy's eyes widened.
- "I can't believe you ditched me." The Evers boy looked at his best friend.
- "I'm sorry." The brown-eyed boy replied. "We'll go see the movie tomorrow, okay? Just help us build the drone." He smiled.
- "Fine." The blue-eyed boy sighed.
- "So what movie were you two gonna see anyway?" Chase asked.
- "Oh, The King of Diamonds." Oliver smiled.
- "Oh, don't waste your time. Kaz and I already saw it this afternoon..." The genius boy started until he noticed Kaz's glance. "You know, I'd like to see that elbow butt." He, awkwardly, said.
The Evers boy glared at his best friend.

Later, Perry was in the living room, looking at her photo albums. Maxwell had run into Chase's room, like every time she came around.
- "Oh boy, did I deserve to be locked away for that one." She cackled. The girlfriends walked in. "'Sup, chicas?"
- "Perry, how did you get in here?" Bree asked.
- "You'd be surprised the places you can go through an air conditioning duct." Terry replied.
- "What are you looking at?" Skylar questioned, before sitting next to her.
- "My old family photo albums. Decided to dust 'em off now that I'm back in my hometown." The older woman explained.
- "Who's this on the tightrope?" The Calderan pointed at a picture.
- "Aunt Barbara. This may surprise you, but we Perry are circus folk." Perry said.
- "You don't say." The hybrid replied.
- "It's true. The women in my family were all talented wire walkers. I come from a long line of 'em." Terry explained. "Look." She pointed at the photos.
- "That's so cool." The Storm girl looked back at her girlfriend, who looked shocked.
- "Yeah, but they all fell attempting the hardest walk of all between two skyscrapers. Well, technically, my grandma Gertie didn't fall. She was pushed by Granpa George." The older woman shrugged. "All the women in my family were trailblazers, but I've never done anything that mattered."
- "Come on, that can't be true." Skylar said.
- "It is. You wouldn't understand because you have all these amazing powers." Perry replied. "And you, you know what kind of amazing powers your girlfriend has." The Davenport girl, sarcastically, nodded. "You know what?" She got up. "I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna finish the walk."
- "Yes! I love it!" The Calderan exclaimed.
- "No, you don't." Bree frowned. "This is probably the worst idea you've ever had, and you have had a lot of very bad ideas."
- "I know, but this is one of my best bad ideas." The older woman replied. "All I have to do is walk, and I've been doing that since I was eight."
- "Not on a high wire between two skyscrapers." The hybrid said. "Trust me, this will not end well. You do not have what it takes."
- "Yes, I do." Perry defended. "And you know what? I'm gonna prove it to you. I'm gonna go online right now and find the cheapest tightrope money can buy." She walked to the desk.
- "Why?" The Davenport girl sat to her girlfriend and hugged her waist.
The Storm girl chuckled and hugged her, before kissing her forehead.

In the meanwhile, the boys were still in Mission Command.
- "Okay, the base of the drone is ready." Chase said. "Now we just gotta soup her up so she can annihilate the competition."
- "I was not aware that the drone was a 'she'." Kaz replied.
- "Everything I create is a 'she'." The genius boy winked. "Isn't that right, Linda?" He patted one of his inventions.
- "I'm just excited to build the drone." The Karev boy smiled widely. "Oh, I say we add a confetti cannon, and since she's a lady, we paint her a nice candy apple red, and add a cute little smile on the front." He laughed.
This is ridiculous. The green hazel-eyed boy thought.
- "Kaz, you can't be serious." Oliver frowned. "Those are terrible ideas."
- "Well, Chase doesn't think so." The brown-eyed boy said. "Right, Chase?" He turned to him.
- "Uh..." Chase started.
You can't be mean. He thought.
- "No. Not at all. I think those are great ideas." He smiled.
- "See? Oh, I was also thinking that we should add tinted windows, skis in case of a water landing, and a little speaker that plays mariachi music so we can call her La Drona." Kaz laughed.
- "Or how about we just call her La Lame-o?" The Evers boy replied.
- "You know what? Ever since we invited you in, all you've done is bash my ideas and made me feel stupid." The Karev boy frowned.
- "Kaz, I'm not saying your ideas are stupid." The blue-eyed boy said. "I'm saying they're wrong."
- "You know what? If you can't be more supportive like Chase, then I don't think you should be working with us." The brown-eyed boy replied.
The genius boy's eyes widened. Wow. This is awkward.
- "And if you're not gonna leave after this uncomfortable exchange, I will." Kaz walked out of Mission Command via the Hyper-Lift.
- "What's up with you?" Oliver walked up to the youngest. "First you steal my best friend by getting her powers back, now you're trying to steal my brother. You know his ideas are lame."
- "Of course they are." The green hazel-eyed boy replied. "And the old Chase would've told him he was wrong, and made him feel intellectually inferior. But the new Chase is a butt-kissing yes man." He smiled. "So I'm agreeing with Kaz' ideas for now, but right before the race, I'll rebuild the drone to look the way I want it."
- "So you're still being a control freak; just not to his face." The Evers boy frowned.
- "Exactly. Baby steps." Chase shrugged.

Saturday, 14th January 2017
Three days later, the four boys were at the park for the drone race.
- "Okay, I just put the finishing touches on her." Chase said. "She's all ready to go."
- "She?" Ezra frowned.
The genius boy nodded with a smile. Yep.
- "Okay." The DiLaurentis boy nodded.
- "Really? So all of my suggestions are in there?" Kaz asked.
- "Yep." The genius boy nodded. "Even the 20-pound confetti cannon that won't slow her down at all." He, sarcastically, smiled.
- "That's so stupid." The curly-haired boy mumbled.
- "Liar!" The Karev boy yelled. "You were just agreeing to my face, and then switched everything back to the way you want it."
- "Kaz, I didn't..." The green hazel-eyed boy started.
- "I don't wanna hear it, okay?" The brown-eyed boy replied. "And the joke's on you, because I entered my own drone in the race, just to make sure yours loses."
- "What?" Chase frowned.
- "Oh, I'll go get it ready." Oliver walked away with his boyfriend.
- "I can't believe you, guys, did that." Ezra replied.
- "Are you siding with him?" The Evers boy asked.
- "No." The DiLaurentis boy shook his head. "But I'm not siding with you either. You are being so jealous. It's ridiculous." He walked back to the others.
- "Ez..." The eldest boy frowned, sadly.
- "I just took one of Mr. Davenport's drones that I found in mission command." Kaz said.
- "You what?" The curly-haired boy questioned.
- "Where in mission command?" The genius boy asked.
- "The weapons room." The Karev boy replied.
- "Oh, God." Ezra slapped his forehead.
- "The what?!" The green hazel-eyed boy shouted.
- "Breathe, man." The DiLaurentis boy frowned as he put his hand on his shoulder. "You look like you're gonna have a heart attack."
Chase exhaled loudly.
- "Alright, racers, ready, set, go!" The announcer exclaimed.
Oliver put down the drone on the bench.
- "You're going down, Chase." The brown-eyed boy turned on his drone.
- "Kaz, no!" The genius boy yelled.
The drone took off.
The green hazel-eyed boy dropped the controller on the bench. This is bad. Really, really bad.
- "Why aren't you starting your drone? Afraid you're gonna lose?" Kaz taunted.
- "No." Chase frowned. "I'm afraid because that's one of my dad's attack drones. It's heavily armed and programmed to destroy any threat it senses."
- "Shit." The curly-haired boy whispered.
- "Language." The genius boy replied, making his friend roll his eyes.
- "Oh." The Evers boy said, awkwardly. "Did you know that?" He leaned towards his best friend.
- "No, I did not." The Karev boy replied.
- "Yeah, we didn't know that." The eldest boy turned to the youngest.
Well, obviously, because you are idiots. The green hazel-eyed boy rolled his eyes, irritated. God, Mads, I wish you were here to slap them upside the head for being idiots. I'm gonna kill them. He started to pace as he tried to come up with a solution.
- "Okay, firing off an attack drone was probably a bad idea." The brown-eyed boy shrugged.
You think? Chase frowned.
- "But it's really fast. I think I got this thing won." Kaz smiled.
Ezra slapped him upside the head.
Thank you! The genius boy thought as he continued to pace.
- "Don't worry. We'll just use the controller to land it." Oliver said. "Kaz, where's the controller?"
- "I don't have it. I thought you had it." The Karev boy frowned.
- "I don't have it." The Evers boy replied.
- "Yeah, we don't have it." The brown-eyed boy turned to the youngest.
The green hazel-eyed boy, sarcastically, nodded. I know.
- "That's because there is no controller. The drone has artificial intelligence. It's programmed to shoot down anything that aggravates it." He explained.
- "Oh, fuck." The DiLaurentis boy slapped his forehead.
- "Language. Again." Chase said, annoyed.
- "That just sounds like poor design." Kaz replied.
The genius boy glared at him.
- "It's not my fault." The Karev boy defended. "You yes-ed all of my ideas, and then yanked them out when I wasn't looking. I heard it all."
- "Look, I know what you heard, Kaz, but after talking to Oliver, I felt really bad. I realized I wasn't being a very good friend, so I left all of your ideas in the drone." The green hazel-eyed boy explained. "Here. I'll show you." He walked away and came back with the drone.
See? He put his tongue against the inside of his cheek.
- "This got to be the most ridiculous drone I've ever seen." The curly-haired boy mumbled to himself.
- "Skis, pretty smile." The brown-eyed boy started to inspect the drone. "Fuzzy dice. It's you, La Drona!" He exclaimed.
Chase smiled and put the drone down.
- "Okay, alright, what about the inside?" The eldest boy asked.
- "Everything he asked for." The genius boy replied.
- "I don't believe you." Oliver frowned.
We'll see. The green hazel-eyed boy pressed a button on the controller and the confetti canon activated as a mariachi music played. He smirked.
- "That proves nothing." The Evers boy said.
Ezra slapped him upside the head.
- "She's perfect. Thanks, buddy." Kaz put his hand on the youngest's shoulder. "I'm sorry I ever doubted you."
It's okay. Chase nodded with a smile.
- "Okay, you forgive way too easily." The eldest boy said.
- "You weren't complaining when he forgave you this quick." The DiLaurentis boy rolled his eyes.
The drone fired at another drone.
- "Incoming!" The Karev boy yelled. Everyone ducked as the other drone crashed on the ground. "Oh, yeah, I've definitely got this thing locked up." He laughed.
- "We have to do something." Oliver added.
- "The done has a homing beacon." The genius boy replied. "If I can tap into it from my smartwatch, I can program it to land back at the penthouse terrace. Let's just hope it doesn't detect a threat between here and there."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
A couple of minutes later, Kaz was giving the destroyed drones to their owners.
- "Sorry." He started. "Sorry. This was never gonna win anyway."
- "Okay, so the drone should be landing any minute now on the penthouse terrace." Chase said. "I can track it with my bionic vision." He put his fingers on his temple. "Oh, no. Oh! Oh, no!"
- "What is it?" Oliver asked.
- "What's wrong?" Ezra questioned.
The boys noticed a pink form behind the two skyscrapers.
- "From here, it looks like an unusual creature thrashing around, like a pterodactyl eating its young." Kaz frowned.
- "Throw in a brightly colored tutu, and you're not far off." The genius boy replied.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
In the meanwhile, Perry was hanging by the tightrope.
- "Don't panic, Terry. I'm gonna fly up and come get you." Skylar hopped on the edge of the terrace.
- "Look out!" Bree shouted, before the drone shot a laser at her girlfriend, sending her to the ground. "Babe!" She crouched down.
- "I'll be okay." The Calderan sighed. "You go save her."
- "Don't worry!" The hybrid yelled at Terry. "I'm coming to get you." She took off her shoes.
- "Shouldn't we wait for some real help to arrive?" She asked. The Davenport girl walked on the tightrope towards the older woman. The drone shot at her, but she dodged. It shot at her again, and she did a somersault backwards to avoid the laser. "A bit heavy-footed, but not bad for an amateur."
- "Okay, I don't know how long I can hold this thing off." Bree said. The drone shot towards her, and she slipped, hanging next to Perry to the tightrope. "Is this really how I'm gonna go out of this world?"
- "Not if I have anything to say about it." Terry replied.
She grabbed the umbrella of her clown costume and hit the drone, destroying it.
- "Nice hit." The hybrid said.
- "Now I guess we just wait for one of your flying friends to come save us." The older woman sighed.
- "No. Perry, I know how much this tightrope walk means to you." The Davenport girl replied. "You're gonna finish it."
- "I can't." Perry frowned. "I used all my energy taking out that drone. I've got nothing left. You were right. I don't have what it takes to finish."
- "Yes, you do." Bree scoffed. "Look how far you've come already. I was wrong. You can do this, and I'm gonna do it with you."
- "Okay, you're getting creepy again, Brenda." Terry said. The hybrid grabbed her hand and she super speeded around the rope to land on top of it again. "Whoa! Give a gal a little warning next time before you loop-the-loop her. Something's bubbling up."
The Davenport girl frowned as she walked away, and the older woman followed her.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
A few seconds later, the four boys ran on the terrace.
- "Skylar, what happened?" Oliver asked as he helped her up.
- "I got zapped by a drone." Skylar leaned against him.
- "Look what you've done." The Evers boy frowned.
- "Oh, Oliver, you're my hero." The Calderan smiled and hugged him.
The eldest boy chuckled and hugged her back.
Chase snickered.
- "We're almost there." Bree said. She walked off of the rope. "Okay, just a few more steps till you're back on the roof." Perry walked off. "You did it!" The two hugged. "I'm so sorry for not believing in you. You know, your Grandma Gertie would've been really proud."
- "What do you mean, would have? She fell, but she's still alive. She had a net." Terry replied. "You'd have to be crazy to do this without a net. You put up a net, right?"
- "Yeah, we should probably get down now." The hybrid, awkwardly, added.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, Chase was in Mission Command, putting away the plans of the drone when Oliver walked in.
- "Hey." He started.
What do you want? The genius boy frowned.
- "Look, I'm sorry I ratted on you." The Evers boy said.
- "Well, you should be." The green hazel-eyed boy walked past him.
- "Well, Kaz would've forgiven me by now." The blue-eyed boy replied. "I only did it because I thought you were trying to steal my best friend." He walked closer to him.
- "I wasn't." Chase turned to him. "I mean, I know that ever since I gave up being mission leader, everybody wants to hang out with me because I'm super fun."
- "I wouldn't say super fun." Oliver shook his head.
- "Okay, maybe just fun." The genius boy frowned.
- "Fun-ish." The Evers boy corrected.
- "I'll take it." The green hazel-eyed boy shrugged with a smile. "But you have to stop thinking that I'm going after everything that's yours." He continued more seriously.
- "Okay. It's just between Kaz and the whole Skylar thing..." The blue-eyed boy started.
- "There is no Skylar thing." Chase shook his head. "I got her her powers back, and that's it. I adore her, but I don't think of her as my best friend. Mads is."
- "Fair enough." Oliver nodded. "Skylar is more like your sister-in-law, anyway."
- "Right." The genius boy smiled and winked at him. "Look, you and I have more in common than anyone else in the house. We should be friends. Can we put all of this stuff behind us and start over?"
- "Definitely." The Evers boy nodded. "Friends." He extended his fist.
The green hazel-eyed boy smiled and fist-bumped him.
- "Wanna get some food?" The blue-eyed boy asked.
- "Oh." Chase frowned. "I wish I could, but I already made plans with Kaz and Skylar."
Oliver laughed.
- "That was a good one." He said.
I'm not joking. The genius boy thought.
The Hyper-Lift opened, revealing Kaz.
- "Ready, bud?" He asked the youngest.
The green hazel-eyed boy nodded and entered the Hyper-Lift.
The two youngest bro-hugged and went up.
- "Oh, no." The Evers boy frowned. "Here come the tears again." He cried.
Maxwell rubbed his head on his leg.
- "Aw, thank you." The blue-eyed boy picked him up and hugged him.
