A week after Leo's fifteenth birthday, the three brothers were at school, on the circular bench with their best friend.

- "Hey, did you guys know we had a study abroad program?" Bree asked.

- "Why would I go to another country to do something I don't do here?" Adam questioned.

Exactly. Chase thought.

- "That's fair." Maddie nodded.

- "Look, it says you get to spend a whole semester at a high school in Australia." The bionic girl explained. "And guess what? I applied."

- "Cool! Kelly Porter went last year. She got sucker punched by a kangaroo." Leo replied.

- "Well, all right, I guess we're going to Australia." The tall guy smiled.

- "I'm sure that's not what she meant." The alien girl said.

- "Uh, no, no, no. No way. M's right, this is my thing." The Davenport girl replied. "I mean, I can finally be on my own. I can study, travel, make new friends that will never replace M..."

- "Mmm, I hate to be a wet blanket..." The genius boy started.

- "No, you don't." The short boy shook his head.

The Matthews girl snickered.

- "But Dad is never gonna let you do this." The green hazel-eyed boy continued. "You can't go on missions if you're halfway across the world."

- "Well, sure I can. I mean, I haven't figured out all the details yet, but there's gotta be a way to make it work." Bree said.

- "You can super speed when needed, or I could teleport you." Maddie suggested.

- "Yes! Thank you!" The bionic girl, excitedly, side-hugged her best friend.

- "Not unless these two can unlock a new ability to make up for you not being here." The middle brother pointed at the bionic brothers. "And Maddie doesn't need any of you."

- "True. She's just like teamwork, otherwise, she could be on her own." The mission leader explained.

- "Maybe, but we'll never find out." The blue-eyed girl answered.

- "Ooh! Well, maybe I can unlock an ability where I disappear and reappear somewhere else. Let me try." The eldest said.

- "It's called teleportation or geo-leaping." The alien girl replied.

Adam closed his eyes, bent his knees and grunted.

- "Did it work?" He asked.

- "You didn't do it long enough. Try it again, this time, more grunting." Chase smiled. The tall guy closed his eyes and started grunting with his knees bent again. The genius boy beckoned the others, and they walked around to the other side of the eldest, who opened his eyes. "You did it!"

- "Yeah!" The middle siblings, simultaneously, exclaimed.

- "Congrats!" The Matthews girl yelled.

Adam smiled and high-fived the four youngest.

Two days later, the older bionic siblings were watching a movie on the couch as they ate popcorn, while Chase was teaching his best friend new songs on his guitar, on the stairs behind the dining table.

- "They look so cute." Bree whispered to her brother as she looked at the two geniuses.

The genius boy was looking at his hand on top of hers, while Maddie was staring at his lips.

- "I know." Adam smiled.

- "What are they talking about?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked.

- "They're talking about their movie." The alien girl lied as she started to look at their hands.

The two older siblings turned their heads to the screen.

Chase looked at his siblings. Yeah, I guess they are. He turned to his best friend and smiled as he watched her, focused on the guitar. She's so cute and beautiful.

- "Bree, is there something you wanna tell me?" Donald walked in.

- "I got this. Look, we all like you, but we think mom could've done better." The tall guy walked away.

- "I'm gonna grab a bottle of water. Want one?" The genius boy asked as he got up.

- "Yes. Thank you." The Matthews girl smiled.

I could marry this smile. The green hazel-eyed boy smiled back. What the hell am I thinking? He frowned as he walked to the kitchen.

- "I just got a phone call that said you'd been accepted to study in Australia." The father explained.

- "Wait... What? That's crazy! Did they mention what day I'm leaving?" The bionic girl asked.

- "You're not going." The scientist said.

- "Why?!" Bree questioned.

- "Come on, Bree! It was obvious. Even Adam saw that one coming." The genius boy replied as he handed the bottle of water to his best friend.

- "Thank you." Maddie whispered.

The green hazel-eyed boy smiled, softly.

- "No idea what you're talking about. Already moved on to cold cuts." The eldest said.

- "You can't abandon the team." Donald said. "What if Adam, Chase, and Maddie picked up and left for a month?"

- "Well then, if Adam and Chase left, I wouldn't have to go to Australia." The bionic girl replied.

Mean. Chase frowned.

- "M is with us, now. She has super speed, too. You, guys, don't need me." The Davenport girl continued.

I can't replace you. The alien girl frowned.

- "And I wouldn't just be leaving you guys. I can super speed back and M can teleport me, any time you need me." Bree explained.

- "That's not the only issue. What about your bionics? Your training? Your capsule?" The father asked.

- "Dad, this is really important to me. Can't we at least discuss it?" The bionic girl questioned.

- "We just did. You're not studying abroad, End of conversation." The scientist walked out.

- "This is so unfair!" The Davenport girl exclaimed.

- "Don't worry, Bree, I'll get you to Australia." The eldest teenager grabbed his sister's hand and started grunting.

Bree pulled her arm away and walked out, frustrated. The genius boy tried to follow her.

- "No, leave her." The Matthews grabbed his arm. "She needs space."

The green hazel-eyed boy sighed.

- "I don't like seeing her like that." He said.

- "I know." Maddie, gently, caressed his bicep with her thumb.

Chase nodded.

Later, that evening, Maddie was helping the eldest brother with his homework, on the coffee table, while the youngest brother was pretending to do his as he watched them from afar, with a smile on his face. Bree walked in the front door.

- "Guess who just got invited to the Panic Inferno concert tonight?" She smiled.

- "Ooh! Brendan Delaney?" Adam asked.

- "Me! Caitlin doesn't want to go alone because she's totally devastated." The bionic girl explained.

- "Why is she devastated?" Chase questioned.

- "What does she have, now?" The alien girl sighed.

- "Her boyfriend dumped her! Isn't that awesome?! Whoo!" The Davenport girl exclaimed.

Wonder why... The Matthews girl smirked.

The genius boy frowned, smiling. She should try to be less, excited, if she wants to hide her crush on Caitlin. He looked at his best friend. She knows for sure.

Maddie turned to the green hazel-eyed boy, who was smiling and looking at her. He knows for Bree's crush. She frowned.

- "Bree, I'm sorry, but you can't go. I have to extract your bionic chips tonight for a critical performance modification." Donald explained.

- "Can't we do that tomorrow?" Bree asked.

- "No. I'm gone all day with a new product launch." The father said. "Look, I wish I could go to the concert, too. You know, I get the whole rock and roll thing!"

- "Uh, people who get the rock and roll thing don't say, 'I get the rock and roll thing'." Chase replied, making the two strong ones chuckled.

- "Come on, Dad, can't I just..." The bionic girl started.

- "No, I'm sorry, Bree, you can't go." The scientist walked away.

- "Being bionic is ruining my life. I can't go to the concert, I can't go to Australia, I can't do anything!" The Davenport girl yelled.

- "Well, you could go get me some juice." The tall guy said.

- "Or you could move your butt." The alien girl replied.

- "No. You know what, I don't care. I am going to that concert!" Bree yelled and opened the front door.

- "Bree, what are you doing you can't just..." The genius boy started, before his sister slammed the door. "Can you believe that?"

- "What I can't believe is Caitlin had a boyfriend." The eldest teenager chuckled.

The two geniuses chuckled with him.

- "True. The poor guy." Maddie said.

Later, the bionic brothers and their best friend were in the lab. Adam was touching the cyber desk, and his youngest brother grabbed his hand to make him stop.

- "Okay, guys, we don't have a lot of time, so let's get to work on your chips." Donald walked in. "Where's Bree?"

- "Uh..." Chase started.

- "She's upset, so she locked herself in her room, and told me to go get her, when it's her turn." Maddie lied.

The genius boy nodded, in agreement. That was a smooth lie.

- "She's at the Panic Inferno concert!" The tall guy burst out.

The two geniuses glared at him.

Are you kidding me? The alien girl looked at him, annoyed.

Dude, seriously? The green hazel-eyed boy frowned.

- "Ugh! He broke me! This guy is good." The eldest teenager sighed.

- "You lied to me." The father looked at the Matthews girl, who, awkwardly, smiled. "Grounded, no going out for one week."

- "Oh, come on!" Maddie pretended to be upset.

Doesn't matter to me, I rather stay home, anyway. She thought.

She prefers to stay home. Chase thought.

Later, the trio was still in the lab, waiting.

- "'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' is still in the theater, so are you coming with Leo and I, this time?" Maddie asked.

- "Sure." Adam nodded.

- "Of course. But, you're lucky, nobody knows that you, guys, snuck out to go see the premiere." Chase snickered.

- "It's a tradition since 'Avengers' came out. My mom used to make use sneak out to go see every single of Marvel movies." The alien girl chuckled.

- "You better hope mom and dad never find out." The genius boy replied.

- "I'm not stupid. I know how to avoid them. And I won't say to Adam that I'm sneaking out." The Matthews girl glared at him.

- "It slipped out!" The tall guy defended.

- "Is Bree coming with us?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked.

- "Yeah, because her fictional crush is in it." Maddie snickered.

- "She has good taste. Sebastian Stan is a very handsome man." The eldest said.

I think she prefers Scarlett Johansson. Chase smiled.

I was more thinking Scarlett, but sure, let's go with Sebastian. The alien girl thought.

- "I prefer Chris Evans." She replied.

- "Me too, but you can't deny that Sebastian is hot." Adam answered.

I love being right. The Matthews girl smiled. He's not straight, either.

- "True. They both are." She nodded.

They are hot, but so is Scarlett. The genius boy thought.

- "What do you think?" The tall guy turned to his brother.

- "I agree." The green hazel-eyed boy, slightly, blushed. "They are, both, hot."

He's not straight, either. Maddie smiled. But I wanna test something.

- "I can't wait to see Scarlett play Natasha again." She said. "She's my favorite marvel hero, and she is absolutely gorgeous!"

- "She is." Chase nodded, as the redness on his cheeks spread to his ears.

I'm right. The alien girl smirked.

Father and daughter walked in.

- "I can't believe you went to the concert when I specifically told you not to!" Donald yelled.

- "I cannot believe that you jumped on stage and begged every member of the band to sign your t-shirt!" Bree replied.

- "I most certainly did not!" The father scoffed, before turning his back to his daughter. "I got all of 'em, didn't I? Huh? Look, that's beside the point! You are in big trouble!"

- "Yeah, thanks for selling me out, guys!" The bionic girl yelled.

- "I'm grounded for lying to protect you!" The Matthews girl defended.

- "Oh, you have no idea what we went through! He grilled us!" The eldest teenager shouted.

- "I said, 'Where's Bree?'" The scientist frowned.

- "At the concert. Oh, man, he got me again." Adam sighed.

- "One day, I'm gonna teach you how to lie." Maddie whispered to the eldest brother. "To all of you." She murmured to the youngest, who rolled his eyes.

- "Look, because of you, we are three hours behind." Donald explained. "Now, the modification's gonna take all night. Now, go get in your capsule, so I can extract your chip."

- "Ugh, fine." The Davenport girl groaned, before super speeding past her father, into her capsule.

- "I don't know what has gotten into you lately. You can't just do whatever you want whenever you want." Donald said as he pushed buttons on the console.

- "Trust me, you have made that abundantly clear. My life is not my own." Bree said. Her chip was extracted, and she stepped out of her capsule. "Here, my chip." She, aggressively, handed her chip to her father, who placed it carefully on the console. "All I want is a little control over what I do."

- "Yeah, well, you're part of a team. That's not gonna happen." The scientist replied.

- "So, that means I have to give up my entire life because of it?" The bionic girl asked.

- "Yeah!" Donald scoffed.

The alien girl frowned. Then, you wonder why she wants to go to another country.

- "Well, if being bionic is going to stop me from having the life that I want... I don't wanna be bionic anymore." The Davenport girl grabbed a metal object.

- "B?" The Matthews girl frowned.

- "Bree, what are you doing?" The genius boy asked.

- "Getting my freedom." Bree raised the metal object.

- "Bree, no!" The father yelled.

- "No!" The green hazel-eyed boy shouted.

The bionic girl, repeatedly, smashed her chip.

The four stood in silent, completely, in shock.

- "What did you do?!" The scientist asked.

- "Well, she smashed her..." The tall guy started.

- "I know what she did!" Donald yelled. "How could you do that?"

- "She picked up that..." The eldest teenager continued.

- "I got it!" The father shouted. "You have no idea what you've done."

- "I know exactly what I've done." The Davenport girl replied.

- "Ooh..." The bionic brothers, simultaneously, said.

- "Then you know you've made the biggest mistake of your life." The scientist answered.

- "Ooh...!" The brothers continued.

- "Now, help me find the rest of your chip, so I can try to fix it." Donald replied.

- "You know what? No." Bree said.

- "Ooh!" The bionic brothers exclaimed.

The Matthews girl smacked their arms.

- "Stop it!" She whisper-yelled.

- "It's the first time, you hit me." The green hazel-eyed boy frowned.

- "Sorry, not sorry." Maddie smiled.

Chase rolled his eyes, amused.

- "Excuse me?" The father asked.

- "I said, 'no'." The bionic girl repeated.

- "Adam, Chase, Maddison, can you leave us for a minute?" The scientist questioned. "I need to speak to Bree alone."

- "No, stay. There's nothing left to talk about." The Davenport girl walked away.

- "Don't worry, Dad, I'll go talk to her." The genius boy put a hand on his father's shoulder.

- "No. If she doesn't want her bionic abilities, she's off the team." Donald replied.

I can't believe it. The green hazel-eyed boy looked at the floor.

The next morning, the childhood best friends were working on the neurotransmitter when Bree walked in.

- "Leo, I just had the most awesome day." She smiled. "Now, that I don't have bionics, I can do whatever I want, whenever I want."

- "Kinda busy. Can I get a rain check on caring?" The short boy asked.

- "I just finally know what it feels like to be normal. This morning I was supposed to meet Caitlin. I was an hour late. She's not talking to me." The bionic girl explained. "It's awesome!"

The brother raised his eyebrows as his sister waited for an answer.

- "It's a little bit early to cash in that rain check." He said.

- "Sorry, B, but Eddy is trapped in Tasha's body, so we have more important stuff to focus on." Maddie replied. "But that's great news for you!"

- "Hey, Leo, did you tell me to keep mom here or let her go out?" Adam asked.

- "Keep her here!" The short boy exclaimed.

- "Ah! Could've gone either way." The tall guy shrugged.

The alien girl dropped her head on the console, in despair, as Leo ran out of the room.

- "Heads up." Donald walked in, with his youngest child. "I just got a mission alert. There's a five-alarm fire at a chemical plant and the response team can't control it. Suit up." The bionic brothers and their best friend walked to their capsules to put their suits on. "We have to get ahead of this thing before it spreads. Chase, you're gonna scan satellite images and try to pinpoint anyone who's trapped. Adam, Maddison, you'll knock down the compound wall and rescue them." He explained. "Me?" He put on a jacket. "I'll come along with you guys and try to help any way I can." He, also, put on sunglasses.

- "Yeah, you can come on the mission, but not dressed like that." Chase replied.

- "Yeah. The fire's already a tragedy, don't make it worse." The eldest continued.

- "If you don't, at least, take off the glasses, I'm throwing in you in the fire." The Matthews girl added.

The father glared at them, before taking off the glasses.

- "Just go!" He yelled.

Maddie opened a portal and the trio walked through it.

- "Well, what can I do?" Bree asked.

- "Nothing. You're not on the team anymore." The scientist said.

- "Donnie! You're coming?" The alien girl asked on the other side of the portal.

- "Yes." Donald walked through the portal.

The bionic girl stared, sadly, at the portal.

The Matthews girl smiled, sadly, before closing the portal.

Hours later, Bree was pacing when her father walked in, covered in soot.

- "You're back!" She exclaimed. "Where are Adam, Chase and M?"

- "They're putting their gear away." Donald replied.

- "Oh, well, I mean, I was starting to get worried. I mean, you guys were gone forever. Let me guess, Adam tried to transport you home by closing his eyes and grunting?" The bionic girl asked, amused.

- "Actually, Adam was quite helpful." The father walked away.

The trio walked in, covered in soot.

- "Hey, guys. How was the mission?" The Davenport girl questioned.

- "I'm gross. I need a LONG shower." Maddie frowned, in disgust.

- "Oh, it was terrible. You know, I was thinking about having my next birthday at a chemical plant, but now I just... I just don't know." Adam explained.

- "We rescued everyone, but the mission took twice as long. Adam and I barely made it out alive." Chase explained. "Mads had to save us, at the end."

- "Yeah, the ceiling collapsed, so all the floors collapsed one by one, while Adam and Chase were at the main floor. So, I'm spent the entire mission doing nothing." The alien girl added.

- "You call it 'nothing'? Mads, come on! You carried the entire building on your arms." The mission leader replied. "Stop giving yourself no credit." He, firmly, said.

- "I know. I know. But I never manage to give myself credit." The Matthews girl sighed.

- "Yeah, well, that's why I'm your friend." The genius boy smiled, softly.

The blue-eyed girl smiled, grateful.

- "Yeah, and in case you're wondering, heat vision does not put out fires." The tall guy said.

- "Yeah, mostly, at a chemical compound!" Maddie exclaimed. "You almost made the entire building explode!"

- "I know. Sorry." The eldest teenager sighed.

- "Next time, you'll know." The alien girl patted his shoulder.

- "Oh, well, I mean, I'm sure it would've been just as dangerous if I had been there." Bree said.

- "No. If you had been there, your super speed would've created a vortex and put out the fire instantly. Mads wouldn't have to carry the building, if the fire hadn't destroyed the ceiling. " The green hazel-eyed boy explained. "Congratulations, Bree. I hope that being normal is worth it." He walked away, followed by his brother.

- "I'm not mad at you, B. I understand." The Matthews girl put her hand on her best friend's shoulder.

- "I didn't think about our team. I just wanted control over my own life." The bionic girl sighed.

- "Trust me, I get it." Maddie replied. "But are you sure that you don't want to be bionic, anymore?"

- "No, I want to be bionic. I just wanted some freedom, so I reacted without thinking." The Davenport girl explained.

- "Well, you know what you have to do." The alien girl smiled, softly.

- "Yeah. Thanks, M." Bree went to hug her best friend.

- "No." The Matthews girl stopped her. "I'm dirty."

- "Right." The bionic girl snickered.

- "I'm gonna go shower." Maddie frowned. "See you, in two hours."

The Davenport girl chuckled.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, the trio was in the lab when Bree walked in.

- "You can probably guess why I'm here." She said.

- "Chase, Maddie and I didn't make it out of the fire, and we're ghosts?!" Adam asked.

- "I owe you an apology." The bionic girl replied.

- "Yeah, well, you should've apologized when we were alive!" The tall guy pulled the geniuses, away from the Davenport girl. Maddie punched his arm. "Ow." He held his arm, in pain.

- "So, are you dead or alive?" The alien girl asked.

- "Alive. Very alive." The eldest Davenport frowned. "You are evil."

- "Look, I just wanted some freedom from being bionic. I never meant to put you guys in danger." The Davenport girl explained.

- "Well, you did." Chase replied.

- "I know!" Bree exclaimed. "I was just thinking about me, instead of us. We're a family, and I was being selfish, and I'm really sorry. I want back in." She smiled.

- "Yay!" The Matthews girl smiled and side-hugged her.

- "Good." The mission leader smiled.

- "Whoa, wait a minute, we gotta vote on it. Hands? I'm looking for a three-fifths majority and someone to calculate it." Adam said.

- "Adam, we don't have to vote." The genius boy replied.

- "Yeah. Get out!" The tall guy yelled. Maddie slapped him upside the head. "Oh, right, family, family, yadda-yadda, I got it. Bring it in." He pulled the three youngest into his arms.

The team smiled in the hug.

- "What's going on?" Donald walked in.

- "Dad, I messed up, and I'm sorry." The bionic girl walked up to him. "I'm ready to be bionic again."

- "Well, I'm glad you feel that way, but I can't do that." The father said.

- "What do you mean? She apologized, and she wants back in." The green hazel-eyed boy replied.

- "I didn't create your chip, my brother did. And now that it's damaged so badly, I can't duplicate it." The scientist explained.

- "Wait, what are you saying?" The Davenport girl asked.

- "I don't know if you'll ever be bionic again." Donald said.

The team looked at him, sadly.

- "We could still ask your brother." Maddie suggested.

- "No way. He doesn't do any good." The father replied. "I'll try to replicate it, but it's gonna take a little time." He walked away.
