seventeen.
Monday, 7th September 2015
A month later, almost a week after Adam's eighteen birthday, the mentors entered the common area. Summer break was over and Zack was leaving at the end of the day, since normal school started the next day, unlike the bionic academy that started today.
- "Douglas, have you seen Leo? He's late for training." Chase said.
- "Why don't you just call him?" Douglas asked.
- "Ugh, too much work. Let's just kick him out of the academy." The tallest guy replied.
- "You're not kicking your brother out." Zack frowned.
- "Okay." The eldest nodded.
The genius boy tapped on the console as he called his brother. The phone rang and Leo popped up on a video call on the screen.
- "Hello." He smiled, clearly in the mansion.
- "Leo, what are you doing back in Mission Creek?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked. "You're supposed to be here for training."
- "Sorry, I had to pop back and deal with a little situation. Janelle missed me. You, ladies, can be SO needy." The middle brother replied.
- "I'm gonna tell her you said that." Maddie crossed her arms.
- "Please, don't." Leo's eyes widened.
- "She threatened to break up with you, didn't she?" Bree smirked.
- "It was implied." The middle brother said, awkwardly.
- "So, are you gonna kiss one day?" The alien girl asked.
- "One day." Leo nodded.
- "And I'm the lost cause?" The Matthews girl chuckled.
- "Shut it, Dee." The middle brother frowned. The doorbell rang. "Ah! She's here!" He hung up.
- "I love the effect she has on him." Maddie snickered.
- "He's so nervous. It's cute." The blonde boy laughed. Adam frowned. "Not as cute as you." He placed a gentle kiss on his boyfriend's lips and hugged him.
- "Yeah, you better." The tallest guy hugged him back.
- "Can you believe him? Skipping his training to hang out with a girl?" Chase asked, in disbelief.
- "You might understand it one day if you actually have one." The eldest patted his shoulder.
The alien girl glared at him as the genius boy chuckled.
- "For your information, later today, I will be online gaming with FrizzyBizzy21." He explained.
The Matthews girl pressed her lips together to stop herself from laughing.
- "And there's a 50% chance that's a female!" The green hazel-eyed boy exclaimed.
- "Yeah. No, there's not." The bionic girl shook her head.
Chase's smile dropped, and he turned to look at the girl he loved.
- "I agree. Sorry." Maddie put her hand on his shoulder.
The hydraloop opened and S-1 walked out.
- "Aaah! It's her!" The uncle yelled and ducked behind a console.
Adam put himself in front of his boyfriend as the mentors and all the students present got into fighting positions.
- "Hey, you look familiar. Do I know you from somewhere?" The tallest guy asked.
- "Adam, that's S-1. Krane's lead soldier. She tried to destroy us." The genius boy explained.
- "Oh, yeah." The eldest walked up to her, holding his boyfriend's hand. "What do you say we finish the job and get out of here?" He murmured.
The Fields boy smacked his boyfriend's arm.
- "What are you doing here?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked.
- "I figured since this is the Bionic Academy, you're the only people who might be able to help. Something's wrong with me." S-1 explained.
- "Yeah, we already know that, Psycho Sally." The Davenport girl said. "You tried to crush Leo and take us all out."
- "I'm sorry. I don't know what you're talking about." The eldest Krane frowned.
- "Of course she doesn't." The Davenport man came out of his hiding spot. "She's a blank slate, just like the rest of the soldiers were."
- "Why weren't you rounded up with everyone else?" Chase questioned.
- "Leo." The alien girl replied.
- "All I know is that I woke up in a field, and this family found me and took me in. And when they discovered I was bionic, they freaked out, so I ran away, and I've been hiding ever since." S-1 explained.
- "Mads?" The genius boy turned to his best friend.
The Matthews girl, quickly, read her mind.
- "She's telling the truth." She replied.
- "I don't believe her." Bree glared at the ex-soldier. "It's not because you read her mind that she won't turn on us."
- "Well, why would she lie? Krane's no longer controlling her mind with the Triton App. So, she has no reason to be evil." Douglas defended.
- "Oh, yeah? Well, that's what we thought about Sebastian, too. And we ALL know what happened there." The green hazel-eyed boy replied.
- "We get it, he broke your heart. Let it go." Adam said.
- "Zack..." Maddie's eyes turned red. "Hit him or I will. Harder."
Zack slapped his boyfriend upside the head.
- "Ow." The tallest guy frowned.
- "Sorry, baby. But you deserved it." The blonde boy shrugged.
- "Look, if you don't believe me, remove my chip. Then, there's no way I can hurt you." S-1 moved her hair out of the way.
The uncle removed her bionic chip.
- "All clear. But you might wanna have that mole checked out." He said.
The ex-soldier frowned, in worry.
- "All right, now that we know you're telling the truth, what exactly is wrong with you?" Chase asked.
- "I keep having flashbacks about a guy named Victor Krane." S-1 explained.
- "You're preachin' to the choir, sister." The Davenport man replied.
- "Wait. When the Triton App deactivated, it should have erased all of her memory. How can she still remember Krane?" The genius boy frowned.
- "It must be a glitch. What else do you remember?" Douglas asked.
- "He said if anything bad ever happened to him, something just as bad would happen to me." The ex-soldier explained.
- "Oh, I wouldn't worry about that. That was just the metal in his face talkin'." The uncle said.
- "No, Douglas, I can confirm." The alien girl nodded. "He did something, but her memories are not deep enough to know what exactly."
- "Look, every time I get a flashback, I get a terrible headache. I'm really scared, and I don't have anyone else to turn to." S-1 replied. "Please, help me figure out what's going on."
- "What do we do?" The bionic girl sighed.
- "I think we should help her." The green hazel-eyed boy said.
- "Welcome home." The Matthews girl put her hand on her shoulder.
- "Thank you." The ex-soldier smiled softly.
- "Okay, Chase, but when she crushes your heart like Sebastian, don't come crying to me." The eldest teenager warned.
- "That's it!" Maddie yelled.
- "No!" Adam ran away.
The alien girl chased after him, making all the students laugh as he screamed.
Zack and Chase sighed.
- "Let's go, before she murders him." The blonde boy said.
The genius boy nodded.
The two boys ran after them.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, after the two boys caught the strong ones and separated them, the mentors, Douglas and Zack were in the common area with the students, who were training. The three geniuses were doing tests on S-1.
- "All right, almost done with the tests." Chase said. "How ya holding up?"
- "Eh, pretty good. Probably gonna need a snack around two." Adam replied.
- "He was talking to her." The blonde boy explained.
- "Aah." The tallest guy nodded.
The computer beeped.
- "Douglas, Mads, check this out." The genius boy said.
- "Huh. Looks like the Triton app left a virus hidden in her bionic infrastructure." The uncle frowned.
- "Why am I not surprised?" Maddie asked. "Honestly, we should've seen it coming."
- "You mean like a virus where I have a bowl of chicken noodle soup, and I'm all better?" The ex-soldier questioned, hopeful.
- "More like a virus that'll cause you to explode and look like chicken soup." The green hazel-eyed boy chuckled.
The alien girl snickered.
- "What?!" S-1 yelled.
- "Uh, but..." Chase looked at the girl he loved for help, but she just smiled. "Who knows? Chicken soup could work."
- "When I showed Krane the Triton App, he did ask me to build a Doomsday virus. But I refused." The Davenport man explained.
- "I remember that it was your first fight as a couple." The Matthews girl nodded.
- "Thank you, Douglas. That totally makes up for the other 500 times you tried to take us out." Bree, sarcastically, said.
- "That's only the ones, you know about." Maddie smiled.
- "She's right. Technically, it was 522. You just didn't see me hidden in the shadows." Douglas chuckled.
- "You are a psycho." Zack replied.
- "Krane must have done it on his own." The genius boy said, sadly. "And if he did to the Triton App, then that means..." He scanned the students in the training area with his bionic eye. "The other students have it too!" He yelled, in a whisper.
The alien girl frowned, in worry, as she looked at the students.
- "It all makes sense. Krane was an egomaniac. If he wasn't around to control his own creations, he wanted to make sure no one else could." The uncle said.
- "You created the Triton App to control your creations." The Matthews girl replied.
- "Stop it." The Davenport man glared at her.
- "According to this, anyone who had the Triton App will self-destruct in ten hours." The green hazel-eyed boy whispered to the other geniuses. "That means that everyone here is..."
- "A ticking time bomb." The ex-soldier continued.
- "All the bionic students are gonna die?!" The Davenport girl shouted.
- "Shhh!" Chase put his index on his mouth.
The students stopped training and turned to look at Bree.
- "Probably shouldn't have said that so loudly." She, nervously, chuckled.
- "You think?" Maddie replied. "It's okay, we'll fix this!"
- "If Maddie says it, then, it's true." Heather said, making all her siblings nod.
- "No pressure." The alien girl murmured.
- "Nice knowing all of you! You guys should start your goodbyes." The eldest teenager said. "I'm gonna grab a tarp and a poncho." He started to leave, but his boyfriend stopped him.
- "Chase, you, three, had the Triton App, too." The Matthews girl murmured.
- "Oh, no." The genius boy's eyes widened. "You're right. This may be worse than I thought."
- "Yeah, you're right. I should probably grab goggles, too." Adam started to leave again, but the blonde boy stopped him again.
- "Stop it, or I'm not kissing you the entire day." He warned.
- "But you're leaving today." The tallest guy frowned.
- "Exactly. If you want a goodbye kiss, then, behave." The Fields boy said.
- "You're cute." The eldest teenager smiled, making his boyfriend blush.
- "No, wait." The green hazel-eyed boy scanned his siblings with his bionic eye. "Mads is right. We also had the Triton App, so we're set to self-destruct, too."
- "Quick, scan Chase." The Davenport girl told her best friend.
- "I can't." Maddie shook her head.
- "Why not?" Zack frowned.
- "Because Chase's X-Ray vision is based on technology, mine is based on biology." The alien girl explained.
- "English, little lady." Adam replied.
- "If I use my X-Ray vision on Chase, I won't see if he's infected or not, but I will see his dick as if he was naked." The Matthews girl explained.
Chase blushed brightly. I would not mind if she used her X-Ray vision to check me out. But she would only think that I'm small.
- "Oooh." The three eldest teenagers, simultaneously, replied. "Ew!"
- "Adam, I'll take a poncho." Douglas said.
The tallest guy nodded, but did not move because of his boyfriend's threat.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the three eldest teenagers walked in the living room.
- "It's gonna be okay. Douglas, M and Chase are geniuses, and they have a whole nine hours to figure out how to stop the virus." Bree said.
- "You know what? You're right." Adam nodded.
- "You, guys, are gonna be okay." Zack replied.
The three stood in silence for a moment, before starting to sob, tears streaming down their faces.
- "We're gonna die!!!" The tallest guy yelled.
- "No, don't say that." The blonde boy frowned and hugged his boyfriend.
- "But I'm way too young!" The bionic girl replied. "I have, like, thirty more years left of being really, really cute."
- "Really? I was thinking more like ten." The eldest frowned.
- "Do you want to die right now?" The Davenport girl asked.
- "No." The Fields boy put himself in front of his boyfriend.
The siblings sat on the couch as they wiped the tears.
- "There are so many things I never got a chance to do." Adam said. "Like...come up with a list of things I never had a chance to do! Or ask you to marry me." He gestured to his boyfriend.
Zack's eyes widened as he blushed brightly.
- "You want to marry me?" He asked.
- "Not now, obviously. You're still in high school for one more year." The tallest guy replied. "But like in the future when you are in college."
The blonde boy smiled widely and sat on his boyfriend's lap.
- "And I will say 'yes'." He said.
The eldest smiled.
- "Well, I am not just gonna sit here and let the last few hours of my life pass me by." Bree got up.
- "Me neither!" Adam moved his boyfriend off him and got up. "If I'm going out, I want to be remembered for doing something meaningful!"
- "You mean like being a bionic hero and saving thousands of lives?" The bionic girl asked.
- "No. Like blowing up balloons." The tallest guy smiled. "I'm gonna use my enhanced lung capacity to blow up as many balloons as I can and set the world record."
- "Cool." The Fields boy nodded.
- "Hmm. Of course, you are." The Davenport girl nodded. "Well, I'm gonna throw myself an awesome farewell party. I'm gonna invite all my friends from high school. Oooh, and Skylar." She blushed.
- "You don't have any friends from high school." The eldest frowned.
- "Actually, I have tons. I just never brought them around you guys because..." Bree started as her brother started blowing up balloons with his nostrils. "Well, that about says it all. I don't understand what you see in him." She patted Zack's shoulder.
- "He's cute and kind, and he's good to me." He replied.
- "Good for you." The bionic girl smiled. "I'm gonna go call Sky."
- "'Sky?'" Adam smirked.
- "Yes, Sky." The Davenport girl nodded. "M planned several hang-outs, Skylar and I are at nicknames, now." She blushed brightly.
- "Good for you." The blonde boy repeated her words.
Bree shook her head and walked away, blushing.
- "Before starting my world record, I want to do something." The tallest guy said.
- "What do you want to do?" The Fields boy asked.
- "You." The eldest smirked.
- "Oh." Zack blushed.
- "Unless you don't want..." Adam started.
The blonde boy pulled his boyfriend's into a kiss filled with love, lust, and sadness.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the three geniuses were in the common area with S-1 and several students.
- "Maddie, I don't wanna die." Spin said.
Maddie crouched down.
- "You won't. We are gonna save you." She replied and got up. "All of you." She walked towards the console.
- "Okay, I scanned S-1's chip and mirrored the Doomsday virus timer. Only eight hours left till you guys..." Douglas started. "Show the world what you're made of."
The two young geniuses glared at him.
- "Ohh!" The eldest Krane yelled in pain. "My head! It hurts!"
- "I know, his jokes are awful." Chase said.
- "No, she's having another flashback!" The uncle exclaimed.
- "I'm starting to see Krane again. It's dark, he's angry." S-1 explained.
- "Run towards the light! It's your only hope!" The Davenport man yelled.
- "Why did you date him if he traumatized you that much?" The alien girl asked.
- "I didn't realize it until I left." Douglas shrugged.
The Matthews girl frowned, sadly, and patted his back.
- "Is he saying anything about the Doomsday virus?" The genius boy asked.
- "No. Someone used the last of the battery acid and didn't replace it." The eldest Krane replied.
- "Well, it wasn't me." The uncle said.
- "There has to be a way to access this virus and disable it." The green hazel-eyed boy answered.
- "Good luck with that. He buried it in so many layers of encryption it would take months to crack it." The Davenport man explained.
- "I already cracked one third." Maddie said, making the Davenports look at her in shock. "What? I'm smart, too. You, guys, are just show-offs."
- "We know." Chase put his hand on her shoulder and she continued to crack the encryptions. "Well, do you think he ever gave her the code?" He turned to his uncle.
- "I know one way we can find out. When patients lose their memories, sometimes doctors try to recover them by reenacting scenes from their pasts. If we can do that with S-1, maybe we can trigger the memories we need." Douglas explained.
- "Yes! That's brilliant!" The genius boy exclaimed.
- "I know! I said it!" The uncle replied.
The alien girl shook her head, in despair.
- "Let's get to work. Whatever's locked in that girl's head is the only thing that's gonna save all of us." The green hazel-eyed boy said as he started typing on the cyber desk with the girl he loved.
Leo arrived via the hydraloop and spotted S-1.
- "You!" He yelled.
- "Who are you?" S-1 got into a fighting position.
- "Maybe this will remind you!" The middle brother exclaimed.
- "Leo, no!" Chase yelled.
Leo fired his laser sphere and knocked the eldest Krane to the floor. The three geniuses rushed towards her.
- "What do you mean, no? I just saved your butts." The middle brother said.
- "No, you didn't! You just dug our graves." The genius boy replied.
Leo frowned.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the timer was showing seven hours left and S-1 was still unconscious.
- "Come on, wake up, wake up!" Douglas fanned her.
- "So, I leave for one morning and now everyone has hours to live?" Leo asked. "Why didn't you call me?"
- "Oh, I'm sorry. I've been a little busy trying to find ways not to BLOW UP!" Chase shouted.
Maddie put her hands on his shoulders from behind.
- "Breathe." She whispered in his ear as she massaged his shoulders.
The genius boy exhaled as he relaxed under her touch.
- "I'm sorry, but that's simply not good enough." The middle brother crossed his arms.
- "She is still out of it. Leo, how could you attack her?" The uncle asked.
- "Look, with everyone around here flip-flopping between good and bad, it's hard to keep track. I have to stop myself from taking you out 5 times a day." Leo defended.
- "That's fair." The alien girl nodded.
- "Guys. Focus." The green hazel-eyed boy said. "We have to find a way to revive S-1 before every bionic person here explodes!" His phone vibrated. "Not now, FrizzyBizzy, not now!" He turned off his phone.
- "I swear, I'm trying to take this sentence seriously." The Matthews girl bit the inside of her cheeks, causing the boy she loved to glare at her as he walked towards S-1.
The middle brother pulled his uncle and his best friend away.
- "Just to be clear, since we didn't have the Triton App, we're good, right?" He asked.
- "Yeah. In a few hours, you, two and I could literally be the last ones standing." The Davenport man replied. "Probably best to keep that to ourselves." He murmured.
Uncle and nephew fist-bumped and tried to do the same with Maddie.
- "No." She shook her head.
The eldest Krane started to sit up.
- "She's waking up!" Chase yelled.
- "Aaah!" Leo fired his laser sphere and knocked S-1 out again. "Did you say 'she's waking up' or 'she has a knife'? 'Cause I'm just saying, those two sound very similar." He raised his hands.
- "AAAHHH!" Chloe shouted and started to run towards him, but Jason held her back.
- "Why is it so hard to hold you back? You don't even have super strength!" The blue-eyed boy exclaimed.
- "It's called rage!" The blonde girl yelled and stomped on her brother's foot to make him let her go.
- "Ow!" Jason yelled.
Chloe launched at Leo, who screamed as he ran away, in fear.
- "I'm not getting involved." The alien girl raised her hands. "He had it coming."
- "Emily..." The genius boy started.
- "I got her." Emily ran after her sister.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the boyfriends were in the training area.
- "And go." Zack said as he turned on the camera.
- "People of Earth, I, the late Adam Davenport, am on my way to breaking the world balloon-blowing record." Adam explained.
The blonde boy filmed the room, which was filled with balloons.
- "685 down...480,000 to go." The tallest guy smirked and blew up several balloons, that were attached to a pipe with several holes, with his enhanced lung capacity. "Chyeah."
- "Cool!" The Fields boy exclaimed.
- "Adam, what are you doing?!" Bree asked with wide eyes as she walked in.
The air from the balloons escaped.
- "Argh!" The eldest groaned.
- "I told you, I'm having my party in here." The bionic girl said.
- "And I told you I'm breaking a world record. Now, back up and respect my balloon boundaries." Adam replied.
- "No! Get rid of these! My guests are coming any minute!" The Davenport girl yelled.
A portal opened and Skylar appeared in the middle of the balloons.
- "What the..." She frowned.
- "Sky!" Bree super speeded towards her and hugged her tightly.
- "Hi, Breezy." The Calderian smiled. "What is all that?"
- "Adam." The bionic girl sighed as she pulled away.
- "Hi, boys." The Storm girl said.
- "Hey, Skylar." Zack waved.
- "'Sup?" The tallest guy smiled. "Bree, I doubt anyone else besides Skylar will come, not after that rude invite you sent out."
- "What rude invite?" The Davenport girl frowned.
- "Check your phone. It's right there." The eldest smirked.
Bree took out her phone.
- "'You're all dear to me, so I'm having a party'." She read out loud.
- "Read it closely." Adam smiled.
- "Oh boy." Skylar said.
- "'You're all..." The bionic girl started. "Dead to me, so I'm having a party'?! Oh, no. I was in such a rush I didn't see the typo."
- "I didn't get your text." The Calderian replied.
- "I preferred to call you." The Davenport girl smiled, softly.
- "Yeah, you also spelled 'Davenport' wrong." The tallest guy said.
- "No, I didn't." Bree showed him her phone.
- "Agree to disagree." The eldest replied.
- "Oh, baby." The blonde boy chuckled.
- "I cannot believe this. All I wanted on my last day was to have a party with all my friends, and now I'm never gonna get the chance." The bionic girl sighed.
- "Hey, that's not true. They could still show up to celebrate your funeral." Adam said.
- "Not helping." The Fields boy whispered to his boyfriend.
- "Sorry." The tallest guy replied.
- "It's okay, Bree. I'm here." The Storm girl smiled. "We can do what you want."
The Davenport girl smiled widely and took her hand.
The two girls walked away, smiling.
- "Do we smile like idiots when we look at each other?" The eldest asked.
- "I'm afraid, we do." Zack nodded.
- "Doesn't matter." Adam kissed his boyfriend's cheek.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, S-1 started to wake up.
- "She's awake." Chase said.
Leo started to raise his hand, before he started to scream.
- "Cramp! Cramp! Cramp! Cramp!" He yelled as he held his arm in pain.
- "Don't even think about it." Chris warned, as he was using his nocikinesis.
- "I got it!" The middle brother yelled, making the Krane boy let go.
Aaron laughed and fist-bumped his brother. The two young geniuses helped the eldest Krane up.
- "Sorry, I took you out. Twice." Leo said.
- "Yeah, well, at least you didn't use your bionics full-strength." S-1 replied.
- "Yeah, that's right. I always dial it back for the ladies." The middle brother, awkwardly, laughed.
- "That, sister, is what you call a lie." Alison mocked.
- "Oh, you, shut it!" Leo frowned.
The eldest twin chuckled. The young geniuses helped the eldest Krane towards a chair, so she could sit.
- "We think we found a way to stimulate your memories by acting out some scenes from your past with Krane." The genius boy explained.
- "We're hoping that when he gave you the Doomsday virus, he told you how to deactivate it. So, we're gonna reenact that moment." Douglas added. "I'm gonna play Krane and Chase will play you."
- "Hold on. How come you get to play Krane?" The green hazel-eyed boy asked.
- "Because I knew him better than anybody." The Davenport man replied.
- "Not better than me." Maddie shook her head.
- "True, but, I do a spot-on impression. I used to kill at our dinner parties." Douglas chuckled.
- "That's true." The alien girl nodded.
- "And then he'd threaten to kill me." The uncle frowned, sadly.
- "Well, I'm definitely not gonna play S-1." Chase said. S-1 frowned. "No offense."
- "Why not? Too much of a stretch for you to reach that level of macho?" The Davenport man asked. The eldest Krane frowned, offended. "No offense."
- "It's not because you say 'no offense', that it's not how you make her feel." Aaron replied.
- "Why can't Mads do it?" The genius boy frowned.
- "Because I'm busy trying to crack the rest of the encryptions. I have one third left." The Matthews girl said.
- "Guys, we don't have time to argue." The middle brother replied. "But just for the record, I do think you'd make a great S-1. You wanna borrow Bree's boots? You can stuff some paper in there so they fit." He mocked his youngest brother.
- "Can we just do this?!" The green hazel-eyed boy yelled.
- "Please, record this." Maddie whispered to Spin.
- "Already on it." He snickered as he took out his phone.
- "You're on an operating table in Krane's lab." Douglas clapped and Chase laid down on one of the consoles. "It's dark. You're terrified. The madman approaches." He turned around and put a string of tinfoil on his face, before, dramatically, turning back. "I'm Victor Krane, and I want to take over the world!" He evil-laughed. "I also told Douglas I'd take him on a vacation to the Florida Keys, never happened!" The uncle yelled. "Now you." He patted his youngest nephew's shoulder.
The genius boy sat up and cleared his throat.
- "Oh, no! Mr. Krane!" He exclaimed with a high-pitched voice. "Please don't give me, S-1, that bad, bad virus!"
The Davenport man shoved him back down on the console.
- "I don't suppose this is helping you remember anything." Leo said to the eldest Krane.
- "No. But it is making me hope that when I do blow up, I take these two out with me." S-1 replied, making the two genius men glared at her. "No offense."
- "I like you." The alien girl laughed.
- "Mads!" The green hazel-eyed boy frowned.
- "Sorry." The Matthews girl raised her hands in the air.
The youngest Krane rewound the video and laughed with Chloe.
- "You recorded us?" Douglas asked.
- "Yep." The blonde girl chuckled.
- "And now, Maddie, Adam, and Bree have it." Spin smirked.
The two genius men glared at him.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the boyfriends were pulling the girls in the hallway leading to the mentors' quarters.
- "So, when I saw how sad you were, I quit blowing up balloons and tried to figure out a way to cheer you up." Adam said.
- "So, you called all my friends from Mission Creek to convince them to come to the party?!" Bree asked, excitedly.
- "You bet!" The tallest replied. "And they all said no. But don't worry. I got you the next best thing." They walked into the living room to see a bunch of strangers in the room. "Surprise!"
- "Surprise." The strangers, simultaneously, said, without any enthusiasm.
- "Are all parties like this on Earth?" Skylar whispered to Zack.
- "No, just his." He shook his head.
- "Wow!" The bionic girl, awkwardly, laughed. "Who are these people?"
- "Your new friends. Or, as I like to call 'em, random people I picked up on the pier." The eldest teenager replied.
- "Why would you do that?" The Davenport girl asked.
- "Because your real friends don't like you. We've been over this. Look, you said you wanted a party, and since no one was gonna come, I figured I had to do something." Adam explained. "And don't worry. Took a lot less effort than it looks."
- "You know, Adam, in a weird way I am really touched." Bree smiled. "If this is my last day on Earth, I'm glad I'm going out, knowing my brother loves me." She side-hugged him.
- "And I'm glad I'm going out, knowing all of our valuable possessions will be stolen by these lovely drifters." The tallest guy smiled.
- "And Kaz and Oliver call ME weird?" The Calderian girl scoffed. "Okay."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the timer was down to two minutes.
- "Role playing didn't work, decrypting the virus didn't work, I'm out of options!" Chase yelled.
- "I'm trying, but Krane put too many layers, and it's a little complicated with you yelling in my ears!" Maddie shouted.
The genius boy frowned as he held his ears, in pain.
- "Sorry." He said.
The four eldest teenagers walked in.
- "Hey, guys, any progress?" Adam asked.
- "Oh, great, more mess to clean up!" Douglas complained.
- "Someone slap him for me." The Matthews girl said, as she did not look away from the console.
Chloe walked towards him and raised her hand.
The green hazel-eyed boy stopped her.
- "No." He, firmly, said.
- "Fine." The blonde girl sighed.
- "This is useless! There's no fix." Chase replied.
Bree started to panic and Skylar grabbed her hand, slowly, doing circles with her thumb.
- "What do you mean there's no fix? I'm not having Krane's virus take me out. I'd rather have one of you guys do it." The tallest guy said as he hugged his boyfriend. "Preferably Maddie, she'll make it quick."
- "I'm not killing you." Maddie frowned.
- "What if I punch Chase?" The eldest teenager asked.
- "Adam." The Matthews girl warned.
- "Oh, Adam, that's ridiculous." The uncle frowned.
- "No. He's right." The genius boy said.
- "Okay, if you say so." The Davenport man pulled out a hammer and raised it.
- "Hey!" The green hazel-eyed boy pulled away. Chloe slapped Douglas upside the head. "Give me that!" He took the hammer from his uncle's hand, before putting it down. "I know what to do. A virus needs a carrier, and without the carrier, the virus dies."
- "So, what are you saying?" S-1 asked.
- "We need to trick the virus into thinking we're dead." Chase explained.
- "Good idea. We'll be ghosts. Bree, Skylar, go get the sheets. Zack and I'll cut out the eyeholes." Adam said.
- "If we give ourselves our own Doomsday virus, it'll shut down our bionic infrastructures." The genius boy continued.
- "Great plan, Chase, except you forgot one little thing: We'll be dead!" The Davenport girl exclaimed.
- "Only temporarily. We can control our own virus. As long as Douglas starts uninstalling it right after it takes effect, none of us will actually die." The green hazel-eyed boy explained.
- "That's brilliant!" Maddie exclaimed.
- "So, our lives depend on this guy?" The eldest Krane asked, in disbelief. "And we're all okay with that?"
- "Sadly." Zack patted her shoulder.
- "Or Mads. As long as one of them do it, we'll be fine." Chase said.
- "Yeah, I'm more okay with my life in HER hands." S-1 replied.
The Matthews girl chuckled.
The uncle frowned, offended.
- "The plan's too risky. We're not doin' it!" He yelled.
- "We only have two minutes left! What else are we gonna do?" The genius boy asked.
- "There has to be another way!" The Davenport man shouted. "I have a firewall program on my old laptop. If the codes match, it could block the virus. I'll be right back!" He ran out of the room.
- "I know his codes, they don't match." Maddie said as she continued to try to crack the virus. "I only have three layers left! Damn it."
- "We don't have time to wait." The green hazel-eyed boy replied. "We have to install our own Doomsday virus."
- "I know." The Matthews girl sighed. "Do it."
- "Attention, everyone!" Chase yelled to the students. "I'm about to wirelessly install a lethal virus into your chips. But I'm doing it to save you. And if for some reason it doesn't work, well, you can all forget about last night's homework."
- "If it does work, you will have one more week of summer break." Maddie corrected.
- "Chase, what are you doing? Don't you need Douglas to bring everyone back?" Leo asked.
- "No. We have Mads." The genius boy replied.
- "Who 'Mads'? Her 'Mads'?" The middle brother frowned.
- "What is that supposed to mean?" The Matthews girl frowned as she raised her head from the console.
- "Yes, Mads. Look, Leo, don't worry. As soon as I send the virus to all of our chips, I'll tell her exactly how to uninstall it." The green hazel-eyed boy explained.
- "Fine. But we only have thirty seconds left. Hurry!" Leo yelled.
Bree put her hands on Skylar's cheeks and pulled her into a kiss. The Calderian, happily, returned the kiss.
- "I love you." Zack said.
- "I love you more." Adam replied and kissed his boyfriend.
Maddie smiled, softly.
- "Okay!" Chase rushed over to the console, where his best friend had prepared everything for him to create the virus. "Okay, the virus is installed." He grabbed the shoulders of the girl he loved. "Mads, all you have to do is..."
All the bionic humans, immediately, collapsed to the floor and the Matthews girl started to type on the console.
- "No. No. No! No. No. No." The middle brother panicked as Douglas walked in with the laptop. "No! No!"
- "What did you do?!" The uncle shouted.
- "It wasn't me! It was Chase! I told him not to install the virus, but he did it anyway!" Leo grabbed his uncle's collar. "He is trouble, that one! Trouble!"
- "I'm deactivating it, shut up! Skylar, please!" Maddie shouted. The Storm girl, menacingly, walked towards them, making them stop talking. "Krane's Doomsday virus, deactivated. Now, I'll just have to uninstall Chase's. Come on, come on..." She looked at the bionic humans on the floor.
- "Come on, come on!" The Davenport man yelled.
The bionic humans inhaled, heavily, and coughed as they woke up.
- "Oh my god." The Matthews girl exhaled loudly.
Douglas helped his youngest nephew up.
Maddie rushed towards him and pulled him into a tight hug.
- "Ooh, calm down." The genius boy chuckled at the aggressive hug.
The boyfriends kissed, before the tallest guy pulled the blonde boy out of the room.
Skylar hugged the Davenport girl.
- "We're alive." S-1 smiled.
The Matthews girl pulled away from the boy she loved and did a group hug with all the students, before hugging Bree, after she was done hugging the Storm girl.
- "And no one blew up." The Davenport girl said.
A loud pop was heard in the training area.
- "The students in the training area!" The uncle yelled.
- "There's..." Maddie started.
- "No!" The three Davenport boys shouted.
Everyone rushed in to see the boyfriend popping balloons.
- "Adam, Zack, what are you doing?" Bree asked.
- "Trying to make you think students were popping." Adam chuckled.
- "I'm just happy he's not dead, so I follow." Zack shrugged.
- "Well, don't just stand there. Help us pop!" The tallest guy replied.
- "Eh, why not?" The Davenport girl shrugged.
Everyone started to pop the balloons.
- "Okay. All right, listen up!" The green hazel-eyed boy stopped everyone. "I know we're all having fun celebrating being alive and stuff. But your homework is due tomorrow."
- "Only you could make being brought back to life a buzz-kill." Bree said.
- "After all of this, you all deserve a week off." The Matthews girl smiled.
- "Okay, next week." Chase corrected.
They all cheered and continue to pop the balloons.

Later, everyone was back in the common area.
- "I've got the tarp. I'm gonna go blow somethin' up." Douglas walked away.
- "Well, I'm happy to say we're all virus-free." Chase smiled. "Thanks to our girl."
Everyone started cheering as Maddie smiled, shyly.
- "Speak for yourself. I caught something nasty." Adam replied. "That is the last time I buy used balloons."
- "Yeah. No, it's not." Bree shook her head.
The tallest guy chuckled.
- "Well, I have to go." Zack sighed. "Thank you for letting me stay with you."
- "It was great seeing you, man." The genius boy, quickly, hugged him.
- "Yeah, I had the best summer." The bionic girl hugged him.
- "We'll see each other soon." The alien girl side-hugged him.
- "Bye, guys." The blonde boy smiled.
- "I'm gonna miss you." The eldest sighed.
- "Me too." The Fields boy nodded. "Bye, baby. I love you."
Adam kissed his boyfriend.
- "I love you, too." He said as he helped him enter the hydraloop.
- "I have to go, too." Skylar said.
- "Already?" The Davenport girl asked.
- "Yes, sorry." The Calderian nodded.
- "Bye." The three youngest waved.
The Storm girl smiled and pulled Bree to the side.
- "Do you regret kissing me?" She whispered.
- "Right, I did that." The bionic girl, nervously, chuckled.
- "We can pretend it never happened if you want." Skylar said.
- "I don't want to." The Davenport girl replied, shyly.
- "Me neither." The Calderian smiled. "We don't have to talk about it, yet. We can just enjoy for now."
- "I'm good with that." Bree nodded and pulled her into a deep kiss.
The Storm girl smiled against her lips and kissed her back.
The three youngest chuckled as Skylar worm holed out.
- "She's my favorite of her crushes." Maddie whispered.
- "We know." The brothers, simultaneously, replied.
The green hazel-eyed boy walked away with his sister as the hydraloop left with Zack.
- "So, does this mean we can finally put our past behind us?" S-1 asked.
- "I guess. But in case you decide to get all evil again, I'm rockin' a bionic leg now." Leo put his leg on the console.
The eldest Krane laughed loudly.
- "I'm sorry. I want to be intimidated by you, but I just can't." She shrugged.
Maddie laughed.
- "Look." The Davenport boy put his leg back on the ground. "Let's just make a fresh start and see where it goes from there."
- "Deal. I'm just glad I'm not getting those flashbacks anymore." S-1 said.
- "Hey!" Adam walked towards the three. "Guys, look, I found two more." He started blowing up balloons with his nostrils.
- "Gross." The alien girl frowned.
- "Hang around here long enough, and you'll have plenty of other horrifying memories to replace 'em with." Leo replied.

Later, the two geniuses were on the roof, looking at the stars.
- "I'm so glad, you're okay." Maddie whispered.
- "That is thanks to you." Chase replied.
- "No. You created the virus that saved you." The alien girl turned to the side.
- "And you deactivated." The bionic boy turned to face her.
- "So, we both saved everyone?" The Matthews girl asked.
- "Sure, let's go with that." The Davenport boy snickered and laid on her shoulder, wrapping his arm around her stomach.
The blue-eyed girl smiled and put her hand in his hair, massaging, gently, his scalp with her nails.
The green hazel-eyed boy closed his eyes as he sighed, in contentment.
