Two days later, Donald and Leo were in the lab, explaining the next mission to the bionic trio and their protector.

- "Guys, I need to prep you for a very important mission, and to demonstrate, Leo..." The father started.

- "Anh-Danh. Mission Specialist Dooley." The short boy corrected. "Will be adding a little more audiovisual "pizzazzle" to the usual snooze-fest." He swiped his tablet's screen to display fireworks on the computer's screen. Everyone frowned. "Hey, you want a show? Kick in the dough."

- "Tonight I'm sending you to gather intelligence." The scientist told to the bionic trio.

- "Oh, you hear that, Adam? You'd better bring a big basket." Chase smirked.

Maddie covered her mouth to prevent her laughter.

- "Leo." Donald said to the Dooley boy, who showed a picture of a warehouse. "I was satellite-scouting industrial sites when I found this warehouse that I think is a front for environmental criminals." He explained. "See these barrels? They're full of toxic chemicals. They're expensive to dispose of properly, so they're probably just gonna dump them into the sea."

- "Which could harm ocean life and obliterate the coastline." Leo continued.

Bree laughed, hysterically, and they all turned to look at her.

- "Owen, you are so sweet. Yes, I will "Bree" your valentine." She said to her phone.

Ugh, Owen. The alien girl, mentally, gagged. I don't understand how she can be into him.

- "See, he took my name and..." The bionic girl turned to her family.

We got it. The Matthews girl rolled her eyes.

- "Yeah, we got it." The genius boy replied, irritated.

- "Even I got it." Adam said, annoyed, before, turning to Leo and invisible Maddie. "I didn't get it."

Shocking. The genius girl smiled.

- "What is going on?" The father asked.

- "She's talking to Owen again." The tall guy said.

- "He's an artist, and he claims that Bree is his muse." The youngest Davenport explained, mockingly.

If you can call him an artist. Maddie frowned.

- "Well, I for one, am not a-mused." The scientist replied. Leo played a 'Wah-wah-wah' tone on his tablet. The alien girl, silently, chuckled. "Gimme that!" He snatched his son's tablet from his hands. "And you, off the phone!" He ordered his daughter.

- "Ugh! Fine. Just tell us what you invented, what went wrong, and how long until it blows up." The Davenport girl replied, annoyed.

This is pretty accurate of most missions. The genius girl snickered.

Chase frowned and turned his head, towards the Matthews girl who was standing, invisible, next to Leo. What was that?

Shit. Maddie froze.

I probably imagined it. The genius boy shrugged.

The genius girl, mentally, sighed, in relief.

- "Look, the police cannot bust these guys without evidence, so I need you to sneak in there and gather samples." Donald explained. "Show 'em the barrel." The mission specialist unveiled a barrel. "Now, there's only one safe way to get the samples, and Leo..."

- "Ahem." Leo cleared his throat.

- "Sorry. 'Mission Specialist Dooley' will demonstrate." The father mocked. "First, take the canister and attach it to the spout. Push down and turn 45 degrees..." Leo struggled to turn the canister, and Donald pushed it instead. "...to create an airtight seal. Then pull the handle."

- "LOL, Owen!" Bree giggled while texting.

Seriously? The alien girl frowned.

- "Bree!" The scientist yelled.

- "Come on! Why do I have to pay attention all the time?" The bionic girl asked, annoyed. "Strong. Smart. Fast." She pointed to Adam, then, Chase and finally, herself. "Let's just do this already." She super speeded away but slammed into the lab doors and fell to the floor.

The kids laughed at the Davenport girl.

- "Bree, how many times have I told you? No texting while super speeding!" Donald said.

This is a sentence you don't hear every day. The Matthews girl thought, amused.

Bree glared at him from the floor.

Later that night, the two geniuses were walking into the warehouse. Both were wearing their suits. He walked slowly as he tried not to get caught as she walked normally, because she could not be seen.

Chase looked behind him as he felt a presence he could not explain.

- "I'm going crazy. I can feel someone hear, but no one is here." He whispered to himself, and he looked around. "And now, I'm talking to myself." He sighed.

The invisible alien girl smiled, amused.

- "You know, for a shady warehouse, this place has a fantastic vending machine." Adam, normally, walked in, eating.

He definitely doesn't know the word 'discretion'. The Matthews girl rolled her eyes.

The youngest Davenport closed his eyes, in despair.

- "Where is Bree?" He asked. "If Mr. Davenport finds out she's late for a mission, she's gonna be in big trouble."

He put his mission bag on the barrels, before he took out gloves and canisters.

- "Oh, she just texted me." The tall guy said. "She's with Owen. I love this game!" He exclaimed, happily. "I'm... with... Chase." He texted.

And Maddie. The latter smirked.

The oldest showed his phone to Chase, who slapped it out of his hand.

- "Man. It's gonna take forever to get these samples without Bree's help." The genius boy complained. "Now, put your gloves on and grab a canister." He ordered.

Wish I could help. Maddie thought.

Adam smirked as he showed to his younger brother that he had already put the gloves on. The youngest Davenport rolled his eyes, amused, and put on his own gloves. Bree super speeded in wearing a t-shirt with paint on it.

- "Hey, guys. Guess what." She said.

- "You had a collision with a poodle on a tricycle who works at a paint store." The tall guy replied.

The three youngest frowned.

What the...? The alien girl thought.

- "No." The bionic girl sighed. "Owen made this for me. He says the tire tracks represent how we're all wheels in society's machine." Her brothers frowned at her. "Okay, whatever. I don't get it either, but the important thing is that he made it for me." She chuckled.

I'm happy that she's happy, but I still think she deserves better than this idiot. The Matthews girl smiled.

- "Hey, hey, this is serious." Chase scolded. "You're late, and you're not even in your mission suit."

- "Yeah! How are we supposed to know you're even on our team?" Adam asked.

The youngest brother nodded, in agreement, as the sister rolled her eyes.

I love them. The genius girl, mentally, laughed.

- "Can we just hurry up? Give me your gloves, stand guard, and get out of my way." The Davenport girl ordered.

The tall guy walked away, as the genius boy took off his gloves and gave them to his sister.

- "Mm. Bossy." Chase scoffed.

He says. Invisible Maddie followed the brothers out of the room.

- "'Hey, Bree, what'd you do this weekend?', 'Oh, nothing. Just collected smelly chemicals with my stupid brothers. It was super fun'." Bree mocked. She super-speeded and took samples of four of the six barrels. Her phone beeped in the middle of collecting the chemicals. "That's Owen!" She exclaimed and took off her gloves to check her phone. "Aww! He said hi!" She smiled. One of the chemicals started leaking out of the barrel. The bionic girl coughed and finished collecting the samples, without her gloves. "There. Done." The two geniuses and the tall guy walked back in. "All right." The Davenport girl threw her gloves against Chase's chest. "I'm going back to Owen. He's gonna go paint a portrait of me." She smiled.

I doubt it will look like you. The alien girl thought.

- "Ooh, really? It's gonna hurt when he rides his bike all over your face." Adam frowned.

Bree rolled her eyes.

- "Later, losers." She super speeded out the second exit.

- "Bree! Don't run that way, or you'll..." The genius boy started. An alarm started blaring. "...set off the security alarm." He sighed, irritated. The Matthews girl slapped her forehead. Chase frowned at the sound. The oldest tried to pick up the canisters, but he made them fall one by one. "Quick! We gotta get outta here!" The youngest Davenport started to run out.

I can't even pick them up. The genius girl thought. If I do that, they will know. She sighed, annoyed.

- "Forget it! Let's go!" The mission leader ordered.

Adam dropped the canisters and the bionic brothers ran away, right before four men arrived. Invisible Maddie blew her ice breath on the floor to make the men fall if they came the same way the brothers left.

The next morning, in the lab, Donald walked towards the capsule with Leo.

- "Wake up!" The father yelled as he banged against each of the trio capsules. "I want a complete debriefing of what went wrong last night, without any giggling when I use the word, 'debriefing'." The short boy giggled. The bionic brothers stepped out of their capsules. "Guys, you failed the mission. What happened?" Bree stepped out of her capsule and an alarm started blaring. "Get back in your capsule! Get back in!" The scientist yelled. His daughter, hurriedly, got back in her capsule. "The system is detecting a high level of contamination in Bree's capsule."

- "What? That's ridiculous." The bionic girl said. "How could my capsule be...?" She stopped talking for an instant. "Ohh."

- "Ohh, what? What is 'Ohh'?" Chase asked.

- "Duh! "O's" the second letter in the number 10." Adam snickered.

The genius boy looked at his older brother, in despair.

- "Bree, is it possible you were exposed to something toxic on the mission?" Donald asked his daughter, who shrugged.

- "Oh, it certainly was. According to this, Bree's mission suit never left her capsule last night." The Dooley boy played a recorded version of himself in a synthesize tone. "Buh-buh-buh busted!"

This is so annoying. The youngest Davenport rolled his eyes.

- "Why weren't you wearing your mission suit?" The father asked.

- "Oh, I'll tell you why. Because she was out with Owen. She showed up late, contaminated herself, and then set off the alarm." Chase explained to his father.

- "And you wonder why no one at school likes you." Bree replied.

- "Mads does. HA!" The genius boy stuck out his tongue.

The bionic girl rolled her eyes, knowing that her youngest brother was right.

- "Until I figure out exactly what you were exposed to, the capsule should counteract the effects of your contamination, but you are quarantined until further notice." The scientist replied.

- "Quarantined? But Owen's having a big art show at school tonight!" The Davenport girl argued.

- "You are not leaving that capsule until Adam and Chase get back in that warehouse and figure out exactly what you were exposed to." Donald said. "I have to call Claire to cancel today's family hang out." He started to walk out.

- "What are you going to tell them?" The green hazel-eyed boy questioned.

- "I'll tell them that Bree is sick." The father lied.

- "No, Maddie was supposed to teach me how to make lasagna." The tall guy complained.

- "Next week, Adam." The scientist walked away.

- "Bree was exposed at something, besides Owen's bad art?" Adam snickered.

The younger brothers laughed with him.

- "Dee would agree, too. I don't think there is anybody who hates Owen more than she does." The short boy chuckled.

- "I know! I don't understand why!" Bree complained.

- "According to Mads, it's because he's an idiot who is patronizing you and doesn't treat you the way you deserve." Chase explained.

- "She's wrong. He treats me well." The bionic girl replied.

She knew it was a lie, but admitting how Owen was bad for her, will be like admitting who she really liked. And the Davenport girl was not ready for that, yet.

Spending time with Owen meant spending less time with the person she really had feelings for, and Bree liked that.

- "Great. Now that we've set off the alarm, getting past security's gonna be even harder." The genius boy complained to his brothers. "How are we gonna get in?"

- "The same way, I'm standing right here, and you can't see me!" Donald said.

The brothers looked across the room and were unable to see their father.

What the heck? The youngest Davenport frowned.

- "How'd you do that?" The Dooley boy asked.

- "He's a witch!" The oldest sibling exclaimed.

- "It's my new spatial micro-projection technology." The father replied.

- "Dude, I know witchcraft, and you're a witch." Adam scoffed.

- "No, I'm not!" The scientist chuckled. The projection that he was holding turned off, and he became visible again. "This device scans your environment and uses a matrix of light projections to create a virtual environment you can hide behind!" He explained and turned on the projection, again. "Tah-dah! I invented it as a 3-D modeling engine for space telescopes."

- "Aha! So he's a space witch!" The tall guy exclaimed. "Those are the worst kind." He said, through gritted teeth.

The three smart men shook their heads.

Later that day, the bionic brothers were back at the warehouse. When they tried to enter, they saw a guard and walked backwards.

- "Distract the guard for a second, so I can scan and project the room's image." The mission leader ordered, in a whisper.

- "How?" Adam asked.

- "I don't know. Throw something in the trash can to make a noise so he'll look the other way." The genius boy suggested. The tall guy picked up a chair. "Adam, not a chair! Something small!" The oldest lifted Chase. "Really?"

- "I'm just kidding. About throwing you, not about you being small." Adam chuckled and threw a granola bar across the room.

The guard startled.

- "What's that? Who's there? I've got pepper spray!" He yelled as he took out the spray. He looked at the label. "Make that, breath spray!"

The guard walked away, and the bionic brothers set up the projection device.

- "This is so cool. He can't even see us." The tall guy whispered and moved his butt in the projection, making it move.

Why is he always moving his butt? The green hazel-eyed boy smacked his brother's arm to make him stop.

The guard walked towards them and Chase held the device as they turned around the guard. The latter squirted the spray in his mouth and gasped.

- "It is pepper spray! Aaahhh!" He yelled and ran away.

The bionic brothers laughed at him. The genius boy put the device towards the door.

- "Foxtrot alpha pickle." He said in his comm. Set. "Are you receiving audio, Mr. Davenport?"

- "Copy that, Pickle." Donald replied. "Okay, Bree said the dangerous chemical she was exposed to came from a barrel with a green label on it." He explained.

- "Copy that. We're looking for a green label." The youngest Davenport told to his brother.

They glanced around the room to see that all of the barrels had a green label on them.

- "Yeah, Bree's not gonna make it." The oldest brother sighed.

- "Wait a second. Bree said she wasn't wearing her gloves when she got contaminated. I've got her fingerprints stored in my database. I'll use my print recognition app to get a match." Chase explained and scanned the room. "Yes! I found it. It's called neurothroxin. Is that bad?" He asked his father.

- "Aaahhh!" The scientist screamed.

- "So, bad, then?" The genius boy replied.

- "It's terrible! Exposure to neurothroxin interrupts the connection between the brain and the muscles. There is no telling what it'll do to her bionics." Donald explained.

- "So, what do we do?" The youngest Davenport asked, in panic.

- "Well, I can synthesize an antidote, but you have to get me a sample, and the effects become permanent after 24 hours, so hurry up!" The father yelled.

Chase took a sample in a canister when the projection device stopped functioning.

- "Dude, I think the battery just died." He said and tried to fix it.

- "Oh, gimme that." Adam pushed his brother away. He tapped on the projection device, and it lit up in his eyes. "Ohhh! Ohhh! I'm blinded!"

The guard ran into the room.

- "Freeze! Break-in in warehouse five! Unauthorized scuba divers!" He yelled in the hallway.

What? The genius boy looked down at his mission suit. It's not that bad.

- "Oh, boy." Donald rolled his eyes, over the comm. Set.

- "Adam, the guard's gonna catch us! Hit him with your super strength." The mission leader ordered.

- "But I can't see!" The oldest brother replied.

- "I'll tell you when to swing." The youngest Davenport said. The tall guy got into a fighting stance. "Now!" The green hazel-eyed boy yelled.

Adam turned around and hit Chase, who stumbled across the room and into chemical barrels. A fog escaped from the barrel and filled the room.

- "Did I get him?" The oldest brother asked.

- "Adam, be careful, the floor is covered in ice." The genius boy said from the floor, in pain.

- "What do I do?" The tall guy questioned.

- "Run!" The mission leader ordered. Adam and the guard ran, before slipping. "The other way!"

Four security guards entered the room. They helped their colleague up and tied up the bionic brothers to a support column.

Donald, in the lab, turned off the comm. Set and took out his phone.

- "Hello?" Maddison said through the phone.

- "I need your help, Maddison. Come at my desk outside the doors's lab, discreetly because Bree is inside." The father replied. A second later, the alien girl waked through a portal, wearing her mission suit and cape. "Bree was contaminated, last night."

- "Oh my god. With what?" The Matthews girl asked.

- "Neurothroxin." The scientist answered.

- "Damn it." The blue-eyed girl replied. "It had to be when I was standing guard with Chase and Adam."

- "Probably." Donald sighed. "I send Adam and Chase back to the warehouse to take a sample, but they were discovered and are being held captive."

- "You send them on a mission without me?" Maddie crossed her arms.

- "I was not technically a mission." The father replied. The alien girl glared at him. "I'm sorry. I should've told you. But I need your help to have my back while I go rescued them." He explained.

- "Alright, let's go." The Matthews girl clapped her hands.

- "Give me a minute." The scientist said. "I need to grab a cyber mask and change to a black outfit to fit in.

- "Smart." The blue-eyed girl nodded.

- "I know." Donald smirked. "And I need to tell Leo to watch Bree." He walked out.

Maddie sat at his desk, waiting for him to change.

After a while, the father came back, wearing an outfit all in black. The alien girl and the scientist went in the elevator, to go upstairs.

- "Dee? What are you doing here?" Leo frowned.

The Matthews girl pointed to the father.

- "Leo, I need help." Donald said.

- "I know, but this is not a one-man job. I'm gonna have to bring in a life coach." The short boy replied.

The father rolled his eyes.

- "That was a good one." The blue-eyed girl snickered.

- "Maddison and I have to go rescue Adam and Chase. Keep Bree in her capsule. Don't let her out, or the effects of her contamination will manifest." The scientist explained.

- "Go on your mission, Big D. I got this." The Dooley boy smiled.

Maddie opened a portal, and she walked through it with Donald.

- "You know, he doesn't 'got this'?" The alien girl whispered.

- "I know, but it's not like we have another choice." The father sighed.

- "True." The Matthews girl shook her head.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

In the warehouse, the bionic brothers were tied up to a support column, five guards were watching them.

- "Can you see anything yet?" Chase whispered to his brother.

- "Nope, but you still sound short." Adam replied.

Jerk. The genius boy rolled his eyes.

- "So, who told you that we were dumping chemicals into the ocean tonight?" One of the guards asked.

- "It was only a hunch until you just confirmed it." The youngest Davenport smirked.

- "Oh, did I?" The older man chuckled.

- "Yeah, you did." The green hazel-eyed boy nodded.

- "Oh, did I?" The guard mocked.

- "Yes, you did." Chase nodded, impatiently.

- "Okay, I guess I did." The older man said.

He's stupid. The youngest Davenport thought.

- "Ha! That guard's an idiot." The tall guy chuckled in front of the guard.

- "I'm over here." The genius boy replied from behind his brother.

- "Ohh." The oldest replied.

In the hallway, Invisible Maddie and Donald were listening to the conversation.

- "Remember what I told you about what I read in their minds." The invisible alien girl whispered.

- "I know, Maddison." The father replied and touched the cyber mask on the side of his neck to morph into a new person.

- "That's so cool." The Matthews girl murmured.

The scientist smirked and walked in the room with the invisible girl.

- "You there! Release them! They're coming with me!" He ordered to the five guards.

- "Who are you?" One of the guards asked.

- "The boss sent me in." Donald replied. "They call me the in-terror-gator!" He, sinisterly, laughed.

Damn, he's taking this seriously. Maddie's eyes widened.

- "When I ask questions, I. Get. Answers!" The father leaned towards the guards, who leaned back, in fear. "All right, you two, you're coming with me." He started untying the bionic brothers.

- "Not without a fight." Chase replied.

The alien girl smiled.

- "Settle down, punk!" The scientist yelled in his youngest son's face. "It's me, Davenport! Just follow my lead!" He whispered and zapped Adam's bionic chip with a device.

He's having way too much fun. The Matthews girl shook her head, amused.

Alright. The genius boy shrugged.

The tall guy winced.

- "Oh, that hurts! Hey, I can see!" He exclaimed, happily, before turning to his father, who was still looking like another man. "You liar! You're not Davenport!" He slapped the scientist's face and accidentally turned the cyber mask off.

Oh, god. The blue-eyed girl, silently, slapped her forehead.

The youngest Davenport closed his eyes, in despair. He frowned when he heard the sound of a quiet slap. What the...? He looked around him and didn't see anybody. I'm going crazy!

Maddie gulped when she saw her best friend turned his head towards her. He's gonna figure me out. He's too smart.

The guards looked at Donald, in shock.

- "Hello." The latter said, awkwardly.

Adam gasped and hid behind his brother.

- "I told you he's a witch!" He exclaimed.

- "I'm not a witch! I was wearing a cyber mask!" The father whisper-yelled to his oldest son.

The scientist activated his plan with Maddison, if he was discovered. He turned around his sons, so they would turn their backs to the guards.

- "Stop them!" The guard in charge ordered.

The alien girl used her super strength to push on the guards, all the barrels behind them.

The guards screamed, as the barrels fell on them. Chase, quickly, turned around.

- "How did that happened?" He frowned.

- "It was probably not, properly, stored." Donald shrugged.

Or someone pushed it. The Matthews girl smiled.

Uh-uh. The green hazel-eyed boy frowned.

- "Why do I even bother with safety briefs?" The father asked.

- "Underwear!" Adam chuckled.

The youngest Davenport smacked his brother's chest.

- "Run!" The genius boy yelled.

The bionic brothers ran out.

- "Thank you, Maddison." The scientist said, quietly.

- "Any time." Maddie turned visible and smiled.

Donald smiled at her.

- "You better go." He replied.

- "I will, once you, guys, are out of the building." The alien girl explained.

- "All right, be safe." The father grabbed the sample of neurothroxin and ran out.

I will. The Matthews girl smiled.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, the father and the bionic brothers were waiting in the lab for Leo and Bree

- "They are gonna be in so much trouble." Donald crossed his arms.

I still wonder how those barrels fell by themselves. Chase thought.

The short boy walked in, wheeling his sister on a dolly cart.

- "Okay, let's just get you back in your capsule before we both get in a lot of trouble." He said, before seeing his father and brothers. He screamed as he sent the bionic girl on the floor. "Cleanup, aisle Bree." He, awkwardly, smiled.

- "Leo, you were supposed to watch her!" The scientist exclaimed as the bionic brothers helped their sister up.

They sat her on a chair and Adam stayed behind his sister to support her.

- "Oh, I'm sorry. Somehow the fastest person in the world managed to sneak past me." The Dooley boy sassed.

That's fair. The youngest Davenport thought.

Donald stuck his daughter's neck with a needle.

- "Let's hope there's enough time left for the antidote to work." He said.

The Davenport girl winced.

I hope she'll be okay. The genius boy thought.

- "Bree, are you okay?" He asked, concerned.

Bree sat back up.

- "I feel funny." She said. "Funny. Fun-nay. Funny. Funny." She repeated, happily.

- "Oh, just spit it out already!" The tall guy yelled, irritated.

- "I'm cured!" The bionic girl exclaimed.

Thank God. The green hazel-eyed boy sighed, in relief.

- "Oh! This is such a relief!" The father sighed. "It'll be so much more enjoyable to punish you, now, that you're healthy!" He yelled. "What were you thinking? You could have put us all in danger!"

- "Sorry. I just wanted to be like every other girl and hang out with the boy that I like." The Davenport girl replied. "What's the big deal?"

- "The big deal is you're not like every other girl. You're part of a team, and your decisions affect us all." The scientist explained.

- "Yeah. Because of you, I had to go to an art show." Leo complained.

- "Yeah! And I haven't eaten since 2:30!" The oldest sibling said.

- "Also, on a lesser note, we all could have been killed!" Chase yelled.

- "Look, you can have a social life. Just don't let it interfere with your bionic life." Donald said, gently.

- "I get it. From now on when a mission comes up, it gets my full attention." The bionic girl said.

- "Okay, well, I think we've all learned a valuable lesson, so let's just go get something to eat." The scientist suggested. "Waddya say? All right?" The children, all, agreed. "Let's do this." The boys started to followed their father while Bree flopped to the floor. "Oh. Forgot to mention, might take a little while for the antidote to get to the rest of her body, so everybody grab a limb." He explained. Adam grabbed his arm. "One of her limbs, Adam." Donald, gently, explained. "Thank you."

The bionic brothers, each, picked up one of her arms while Donald and Leo picked up her legs. They walked out.

∘₊✧──────✧₊∘

Later, the younger bionic siblings were in the lab. The antidote had worked to the rest of the bionic girl's body.

- "And even after all of that, he still wants to hang out with me!" Bree exclaimed.

- "I don't care!" Chase yelled, annoyed.

Donald walked in.

- "Well, even though you failed your mission, the cops heard the alarms and picked up those eco villains, so the ocean is safe thanks to all of... me, actually." He chuckled.

- "Wow, I guess we got lucky." The genius boy smiled.

- "Luck. Skill. I say we just put this whole thing behind us." The bionic girl replied.

The father laughed.

- "Or, I could punish you for all the stupid things you did by making you sweep the lab." He cackled, while holding a broom.

Adam walked in.

- "Guys, come on! How can you not see he's a witch!" He yelled.

Oh, Adam. The youngest Davenport shook his head.
