The bionic trio was in their mission suits, in the lab, waiting for their father.
- "Okay, your mission supplies are packed, the schematics have been uploaded into Chase's chip, and your transport is on the way." Donald explained as he walked in. He snapped his fingers. "Did I forget anything?"
- "No, we'll just guess what the mission is and see how it all plays out." The bionic girl, sarcastically, said.
- "All right." The scientist started. "A particle collider is a three-mile long underground facility where scientists..."
- "Race subatomic particles at each other at light speed for energy experiments." Chase interrupted. The two geniuses giggled. "So cool!"
- "I know!" The older man giggled.
- "Deedle-deedle-dee!" They wiggled their fingers with each other.
Adam and Bree frowned at them, disgusted.
- "There is a particle collider in Berkeley that is accelerating out of control, and your mission is to shut it down." Donald explained.
- "Oh ho! Awesome!" The tall guy exclaimed and then, leaned to his siblings. "I hope one of us knows how to do that." He whispered.
- "Okay. We have to act quickly. The scientists that operate the facility..." The scientist pulled Leo away from the desk. "'scuuuuse me. Have already evacuated the control center, and if we don't shut it down in time, it will create a massive black hole that will implode the entire planet." He explained.
- "Today?" The Dooley boy asked, horrified. "No, that's not gonna work. Today is Shelly Evans' birthday, and her mom makes the best cupcakes!" His father and siblings looked at him, shocked. "I'm just sayin'. That woman doesn't skimp on the sprinkles." He shrugged.
- "Don't worry, Leo, you will get your cupcakes. Adam, Bree, and Chase have all the training they need to shut the collider down." Donald said.
- "I don't know, Big D. I think these guys are gonna need some..." The short boy replied. "Back-up!" He sang and did a superhero pose.
- "Yeah, and that's why you're gonna be..." The father answered. "Back-up!" He sang and mimicked Leo's pose. "Here in the lab with me."
That was a good one. The genius boy chuckled.
- "Oh, he said "backup" and you said "backup"." Adam laughed. "Saying things twice makes it funny! Oh! Saying things twice makes it fun..."
- "Stop it!" Donald shouted.
A sphere of light appeared from the ceiling and landed on the ground, revealing two people wearing black glasses.
WHAT THE HECK?! The youngest thought.
The family screamed. Bree hid behind the cyber desk. Adam jumped in Chase's arms. Donald pushed Leo behind him and went in fighting position.
- "Nobody panic!" The father yelled. "Probably just the cable people." He said, calmly.
The people in the machine took off their glasses. They were a black man with dark brown eyes and dark brown hair and a white woman with ocean blue eyes and long dark brown curly hair. They were wearing the clothes' styles as Leo and Maddie.
Wait, she looks like... No, that's impossible. Chase, mentally, laughed and put down his older brother.
- "Come on, Big D, I just came from seven years in the future." The man said and took off his belt. "Your time machine actually worked!" He exclaimed as he got up.
- "Can't believe we are in one piece." The woman took off her belt and got up, as well. She, quickly, read their minds to be sure they were on the right date. She put on normal glasses. "No offense, Mr. Davenport." She put her hands in the air.
The man snickered.
She's so beautiful. The genius boy thought.
Why is Chase starring at me? The woman frowned.
Crap. Chase turned his head, blushing.
- "It's us! Leo and Maddie!" He pointed the young, scared Leo, behind his father.
No way. The youngest Davenport scoffed.
- "Whoa! The cable guy's got the same name as you!" The oldest Davenport gasped. "And the girl got the same name as Maddie! That's such a coincidence!"
- "Yep, that's Adam." The woman nodded.
- "Wait. If you're really me, then you'd know the handshake I came up with in case I ever became a spy." The Dooley boy approached the older man, suspiciously. "And you know what's on Maddie's shoulder." He squinted his eyes.
- "Requesting authentication, Double-O Leo." The older Leo smirked.
- "Here, we go." Future Maddie shook her head.
They did the long handshake and started smiling.
- "It really is me!" The short boy jumped of joy and stopped. "And you?" He turned to the future version of his best friend.
Future Maddie rolled her eyes. She turned and pulled on the collar of her oversized t-shirt, to reveal the birthmark that looked like a star on her right shoulder.
What? The young scientist thought.
- "What the...?" Bree said.
- "It is you!" The young Dooley boy yelled.
- "Mads has a birthmark?" The genius boy asked.
- "Yep." Future Maddie and the two Leos responded at the same time.
- "How come we didn't know?" The youngest Davenport turned to his siblings.
Adam shrugged.
- "To be fair, she doesn't know you have a birthmark, too." The bionic girl replied.
Chase shushed her.
- "Now, she does." He whispered to his sister.
I already knew. Future Maddie smiled.
- "So you're the future version of him." Donald pointed older Leo and then, young Leo. "And you're the future version of Maddison?" He pointed to the brunette. The future versions nodded. "Do you know what this means? I cracked time travel! Ha ha ha!" He, manically, laughed. "I cracked time travel, I cracked time." The scientist sang and jumped in the air. "Can you do me a favor?" He walked towards Future Leo and Maddie. "When I see you in seven years, can you remind me to tell me how awesome I am? Lemme high-five." He clapped his hands. "Like that."
- "Oh, I'm sure you won't forget." The two Leos said. "Hey, he just said what I said!" They exclaimed, excited. "Technically, I just said what I said. Okay, you're gonna have to stop doing that." They continued. "Stop. Stop. Stop!"
Future Maddie put her hands over the two Leos' mouths. The trio chuckled at them.
- "Finally, some silence." She sighed. She, quickly, took off her hands off their mouths. "Ew, you both licked my hands!" The alien woman said, disgusted.
The Leos grinned, widely.
- "So, you know about our bionics?" Bree asked Future Maddie.
- "Yep." She replied.
This is so cool. I won't have any secrets for Mads, anymore. The genius boy thought.
- "It's so good to see you guys!" Future Leo ran towards the trio.
- "It's good to see you too..." Chase started, when Future Leo hugged the trio, enthusiastically. "Older, yet strangely similar, Leo."
Future Maddie pulled her best friend away from them, while they were pushing him away.
- "Leo, they don't know you." Future Maddie said.
- "So, uh..." Donald started. "What did time travel feel like? Did your body mass increase exponentially as you accelerated towards light speed?" He looked between the future versions of the childhood best friends.
- "Uh, I pushed the button, felt a lot of wind, there was a big flash, but yeah, mass and speed stuff." Future Leo replied.
- "Yeah, honestly, it didn't felt as impressive as you think." Future Maddie explained.
- "So if you're from the future..." Adam crossed his arms, suspiciously. "Then, what color are my eyes?"
- "Brown." Future Maddie answered.
The tall guy gasped.
- "You really are from the future!" He exclaimed.
- "Ignore him." Bree pushed her older brother away. "Come on, future Leo and future M, let's jump to 2025 and see what people are wearing." She hooked her arms to theirs and walked to the time travel machine. "I want to start now and be a trend-setter."
- "Sorry, but it took Big D years to just scrape together enough zanol fuel for us to come here once and go back." Future Leo explained.
- "Ohh. Fine." The bionic girl sighed. "But if I end up wearing mom jeans and hair scrunchies, you are gonna get back in that thing and fix it." She walked away, in disgust.
- "I'm sure, you won't." Future Maddie smiled.
Donald's cell phone buzzed.
- "Oh. The collider mission. You guys have to get ready. Head to the equipment room and gear up." He pushed the bionic trio towards the exit.
- "Nice to meet you, future Leo and Maddie!" The Davenport girl exclaimed.
- "Yeah, congrats on growing out of your awkward stage, Future Leo!" Adam yelled.
She grew up even more gorgeous, that she already is. The genius boy thought. I wonder if we are still friends.
- "Yeah, nice to meet you!" He yelled.
The trio waved goodbye and walked out.
- "Hey, why didn't you just bring future Adam, Bree, and Chase with you?" Present Leo asked. "Let me guess. You just hopped in the time machine, grabbed Dee and took off without them." He grinned widely. "That is so future me."
- "Actually, that's why we're here." Future Leo replied. "Adam, Bree and Chase, don't make it to the future." He said, sadly.
Donald and mini Leo's smiles dropped.
- "What?" The Dooley boy yelled.
Adam ran in, panicked.
- "Oh, no! Oh, no! Oh, no!" He yelled. "Forgot to pack my pudding." He grabbed the pudding, smiled and ran out.
- "I missed him." Future Maddie shook her head, amused. "We should go upstairs, so they can't hear us."
- "Good idea." The scientist replied. The four walked towards the elevator. "So, when did you discover about the lab and Adam, Bree and Chase's bionics?" He asked Future Maddie, who turned to Future Leo.
- "Um..." The latter started.
- "I always knew." The alien woman said when the door of the elevator closed.
- "What? How?" The father questioned.
- "Only my mom, Tasha and Leo know. You can't tell anyone. Not even Adam, Bree, and Chase." The genius woman explained. "Can I trust you?" She asked.
- "Of course, you can, Maddison." Davenport replied. "I promise."
- "Long story short, I'm an alien from another universe. And I can read minds." Donald's eyes widened, in shock. "Since we met at your wedding, I knew about their bionics."
- "Wow." He, simply, said. "So, you are an alien and the multiverse exists."
- "I know, it's a lot." The two Leos replied, at the same time.
- "Stop it!" Future Maddie yelled.
- "Sorry." They said, again, at the same time.
Why am I friends with them? The Matthews woman rolled her eyes.
- "Yes, the multiverse exists." She replied.
- "This changes everything!" Donald exclaimed and clapped his hands, happily.
- "Two versions but same reaction." Future Leo chuckled.
- "Yeah." Future Maddie snickered. "You can ask all the questions you want to mini me, but right now, we have to focus on saving the trio."
- "Alright." The doors opened and they walked out. "What do you mean Adam, Bree, and Chase don't make it to the future?" The father questioned.
- "You sent us back here with a video that will explain everything." Future Leo set up a device, on the kitchen counter, that projected a screen.
- "Whoa, what is that?" Mini Leo asked, excited.
- "It's a holophone." The alien woman replied.
- "I invented the holophone?" Donald asked, excited.
- "No. But you did wait in line six days to get one." The Dooley man explained.
- "Yeah, we had to bring you food." The Matthews woman snickered.
Future Donald appeared on the holophone's projection. He was overweight and covered in food stains.
- "Greetings, past Donald." He waved.
- "That's me? Please tell me the holophone adds a hundred pounds." Present Donald asked, panicked.
- "I'm sorry, Mister Davenport, but no." Future Maddie put her hand on his shoulder.
- "Even if it did, what about the other two hundred?" The Dooley boy asked.
- "The next seven years are pretty hard on you, Big D." Future Leo said, gently.
Present Leo snickered.
- "Or should I say "Bigger" D?" He elbowed his future self. "Am I right?"
The two Leos laughed. Future Maddie slapped the back of their heads.
- "He lost his children. He's grieving. There is nothing to laugh at." She frowned, angry.
- "Sorry, Big D." Both Leo lowered their heads.
- "If you are watching this, we cracked time travel! Ha-ha!" Future Donald screamed. "Inter-dimensional high five." He held his hand up.
Present Donald high-fived the hologram of his future self.
- "I just high-fived my future self!" The scientist giggled. The Leos glared at their father. "What? Look at me! Let me have some joy." He complained.
- "That was cool." The alien woman smiled.
- "Thank you, Maddison." He smiled back.
- "I sent Leo and Maddison back in time to stop you from sending Adam, Bree, and Chase on the particle collider mission." Future Donald started.
- "What? Why?" Present Donald asked.
- "Now, I'm sure you're asking, "What? Why?"." The future version of the scientist said.
- "I know myself so well." The present version of the Davenport man chuckled.
Future Maddie rolled her eyes, amused.
- "As a scientist, I am loath to change the past. But in this case, I have to make an exception. Adam, Bree and Chase, don't return from the mission." Future Donald explained. "Pretend to send an automated rover, in front of them, and send Maddison in their place. She'll know what to do, and she won't get hurt. It's the only chance we have to save them. Oh, and by the way..." He cleared his throat. "Every time you say, "Hey, I think this calls for a cookie," think about this." He lifted his shirt.
The three boys screamed in horror as Future Maddie rolled her eyes.
- "I saw worse in people's minds." She snickered and turned off the holophone. "Like Perry's."
They all shuddered, in disgust.
- "How could I send them on a mission they don't return from?" Present Donald questioned.
- "And how could you have let your hair recede with, so many trusted over-the-counter remedies available?" Present Leo asked.
- "If Adam, Bree, or Chase hear any of this, it'll shake their confidence in future missions or their confidence in me. Please tell me you won't say anything to them." The father said.
- "I won't." The alien woman replied. "I'm very good with secrets." She chuckled.
- "Yeah, I can see that." The scientist raised his eyebrows.
- "I promise." Future Leo replied.
Donald motioned for Present Leo's response.
- "Future me, speaks for both of us." Both Leos shrugged.
- "There's not much time. The collider situation's getting worse by the hour." The scientist started to walk to the elevator. "I gotta go build that rover, and it'll go with you, Maddison."
- "I'll help you." The alien woman followed him. "In the future, we did a lot of projects together."
- "Chase always said you were smarter than you showed." The father frowned, curious.
Future Maddie smiled, shyly. The bionic trio walked in.
- "We're good to go, Mr. Davenport. We'll check in once we reach delta point." Chase smiled.
- "No!" He yelled. "Uh, I-I mean, the mission's off."
- "But you said it was urgent." Adam frowned.
- "Did I say "urgent?" I th- I think I said "urge...ing"." The scientist lied. "I was like urging you not to go on the mission." He explained.
- "Why?" Bree asked.
- "Because I'm sending an automated rover, that can shut down the collider via remote." The father coughed. "As soon, as I build it."
- "An automated rover? You might as well send a handbag on a skateboard." The genius boy laughed with his siblings. "The three of us can handle..."
- "No!" Donald shouted. The trio looked at their father, in shock. "I said no, and I mean it. My decision is final." He said, firmly. "Now just... Everybody, go get ready for school."
The trio left the room in silence, with their heads down.
- "Thank you." Future Leo put his hand on his father's shoulder. "Future you would thank you too, Big D."
- "Or should we say "Bald"-D?" Present Leo elbowed the future versions of himself and his best friend.
The two Leos cracked up. Future Maddie pressed his lips together, to stop herself from laughing. Donald touched his hair, sadly.
- "Go to school with them." Donald said to Future Maddie, when he saw the two Leos walking away.
- "Yeah, it's probably safer." She walked away. "I'll help you after school." She yelled, before she closed the door.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Present Leo dragged the future versions to school with him.
- "Dee!" He yelled when he saw his best friend, in the hallway.
- "Leo?" Maddie frowned when she heard him yelling.
She saw two people with him.
They look like us. She thought.
- "Dee, May I present you, Future you and me." The short boy grinned.
- "I knew it." The alien girl smiled.
- "You read our minds?" Future Leo asked.
- "No, she recognized us." Future Maddie smiled. "And she didn't want to spoil the future for herself. Mini Me's smart." She wrapped her arms around present Maddie.
- "You didn't grow." The Dooley boy snickered, when he saw that the Maddies had the same height.
- "Because I'm already tall." Both Maddisons replied, at the same time.
- "Yeah, I was short." The Dooley man patted his past self's head.
Present Leo crossed his arms and pouted. The two Maddies laughed. Both Leos walked away.
- "Yeah, Leo is gonna ask questions about the future." The Matthews girl sighed.
- "And Future Leo is gonna answer them all." The older woman shook her head.
- "I didn't change much." Present Maddie looked at her future self from head to toe.
- "You stopped tying your hair." Future Maddie shrugged. "Your body is more adult, now. You're gonna have way more boobs and ass." She whispered. Present Maddie snickered. "And stop complexing on your thighs." She said, firmly. "Thick thighs are beautiful."
- "Yeah. I can see that." The alien girl looked at her future self's thighs. "You are rocking those skinny jeans."
- "I know our thighs and ass look amazing, in these. But, you should see us in a skirt." The older woman winked.
- "I don't want to wear tight clothes or dresses or skirts." Present Maddie lowered her head.
- "I know. But you're only thirteen, you have time. And we both know that you want to, one day." Future Maddie smiled.
- "I do." The younger one smiled. "But, if you wear tight clothes now, why are you wearing that?" She pointed to the oversized t-shirt.
- "I didn't want to break their minds." Future Maddie chuckled. "They only know you in oversized clothes, if a future version of you arrives in tight clothes, their minds will explode."
- "So, why are you, guys, here?" Present Maddie asked.
- "Adam, Bree and Chase don't come back from today's mission." The older woman sighed. "We didn't get there in time."
- "What?" The Matthews girl asked, in disbelief.
- "They got crushed by the ceiling. By the time, I got there and dug them out, they were gone." Future Maddie's voice broke. Present Maddie hugged her future self. "Davenport sent Leo and I to save them."
- "Wait, Future Davenport knows about our powers?" The younger one pulled away from the embrace.
- "Yes. And Present Davenport knows about it, too. I told him." Future Maddie said.
- "What?" The alien girl's eyes widened.
- "Yes, it's easier to save them." The older woman explained.
- "He's not going to say anything to the trio?" Present Maddie asked.
- "No, he promised." Future Maddie replied.
- "Okay, good." She replied.
- "After school, you'll come with me to the lab to help Davenport built a rover to help me for the mission." The older woman explained.
- "Okay. This will be the first time I'll go in the lab." The younger one said.
- "I know. It's amazing, you'll see." Future Maddie wrapped her arm around her younger self. "But, right now, you have a French test."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
The Maddie were in the elevator to go down to the lab.
- "Turn invisible if the trio arrives." The older one instructed.
- "Really? I thought I was going to show them my powers?" The younger one sassed.
- "You really are me." The woman rolled her eyes.
The door opened.
- "Maddison?" Donald called out.
- "Yes!" Both Maddies replied, at the same time.
The scientist got up from his chair.
- "So, you, young lady, are an alien." He pointed at the younger Maddison. "When were you going to tell us?" He crossed his arms.
- "Never." Present Maddie smiled. "When were you going to tell me that your children are bionic?"
- "Never." He smirked.
- "So, we are even." She smiled.
- "Fair enough." The scientist replied. "Come on, we got work to do."
The Maddies followed him.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the Maddisons were helping Davenport with the rover, when the Leos walked in.
- "Hey, Big D. I got an "A" on my history test." The younger one said.
- "Yeah? Did you cheat by getting the answers from future you?" The scientist took off his welding mask.
The Leos looked at each other with wide eyes.
- "They totally did." Present Maddie whispered.
- "Yep." Future Maddie murmured.
- "So, how's that rover coming along?" Both Leos replied, at the same time.
- "It's almost ready." The father replied, confident, but then sparks came out of the rover and a small explosion occurred. "You know what, are you sure Adam, Bree, and Chase don't make it?"
- "Yes, I'm sure." The older woman replied, defensive.
I'm the one who dug out their bodies. She thought.
- "I'll show you." The Dooley man continued. "We downloaded the security camera footage from the control room." He took out his holophone.
On the video, Chase used his force field to fry the control panel and complete the mission.
- "They shut it down. They completed their mission." Donald smiled, proudly. "You came back for nothing. I think this calls for a cookie."
- "He never learns." Future Maddie whispered and shook her head.
- "You haven't seen the ending." Future Leo replied.
On the video, Adam, Bree, and Chase celebrated, until they were crushed by falling rubble from the ceiling. The oldest, Dooley, fast-forwarded the video and showed a young Maddie, rushing in and lifting the rubble on top of the trio.
- "Come on, guys." She sobbed as she took their pulses. "No. No. No. Come on, wake up." She started doing CPR on the three of them, at the same time, with her telekinetic power. After a while, she stopped. "No..." She broke down.
The video ended on Maddison crying on the bodies of her best friends.
The two Leos and the youngest Matthews hugged a crying Future Maddison.
- "Scratch that cookie." Donald sniffled and wiped the tears in his eyes. "I gotta get this thing mission-ready."
Present Maddie turned invisible, right before the trio walked in.
- "Aha!" Chase exclaimed. "So, it's still not mission-ready. Why won't you just let us go?" He asked.
- "No, no, that won't be necessary. I just need to buy a few things... from NASA. They're having a sale. Everything's a million off." He shrugged. "Uh, Maddison and I, we'll be gone for a couple of hours. Leo, you're in charge." He started to walk out, followed by future Maddie and present invisible Maddie.
- "You got it, Big D." Both Leos replied.
- "Future Leo." He corrected.
- "Aw, come on!" The youngest Dooley complained as Future Maddison snickered.
Donald and the Maddie were in the elevator.
- "Where is present you?" He asked the alien woman.
- "I'm here." She replied and turned visible again. Donald screamed, in fear. "Sorry." She laughed with her future self.
- "We really need to talk about your powers." The scientist sighed and put a hand over his heart.
- "He thinks this mission's too big for us." Adam said, in the lab.
- "It's not that he thinks it's too big..." The youngest Leo started.
- "Leo." The Dooley man stopped him by putting his hand on his younger self's shoulder. "We promised."
- "I guess Davenport just lost confidence in us." Bree replied, sadly.
- "Or he lost confidence in you two." The genius boy corrected.
- "What is that supposed to mean?" The bionic girl asked, angrily.
- "Yeah, I'm the one always carrying you two. You're the weak links!" The tall guy explained.
- "Oh, I'm the weak link?" The youngest questioned. "You can't even spell "weak link"."
The two youngest siblings mocked him.
- "Can to." The oldest replied.
The trio started arguing, all at once.
- "Guys! Guys! Guys!" Younger Leo yelled, making them stop. "Enough! Future Dee and me came back here to warn Davenport not to let you go on the mission because you don't come back from it." He explained.
- "Gah! I never listen to myself!" Future Leo complained.
- "Don't come back?" Adam asked, sadly.
- "Wow. I guess this means we're not invincible." Bree replied.
- "It all makes sense now. This is why Mr. Davenport forbade us to go." Chase explained.
- "Nice going." The oldest Dooley sassed.
- "I had to tell them." Present Leo defended. "Davenport didn't want to undermine their confidence, which is exactly what he did by not telling them." Future Leo shook his head. "Don't you shake my head at me." The youngest Dooley crossed his arms.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, Future Leo was, aggressively, fixing his younger self's jacket.
- "Hey! Hey. Careful. Handsome is delicate." Present Leo stepped away. The Dooley man laid on the couch. "Should I really be going to a movie with Janelle, considering there still might be a slight chance the earth might implode?" He asked his older self.
- "Well, it is a pretty good movie." He replied.
The short boy walked over to the front door and found a note pinned to it.
- "It's a note from Adam, Bree, and Chase. They went on the mission!" He yelled.
- "What?" Future Leo, quickly, got up.
- ""Dear Mr. Davenport, we went to stop the collider. We know we won't make it back, but that's a small price to pay to save you, Leo, Tasha, The Matthews, and the rest of the world. P.S. Sorry we get blowned up." Pretty sure Adam wrote that last part." Present Leo said. "We have to tell Davenport about Adam, Bree, and Chase on the mission." He dialed Donald's number.
- "Oh, no. It's happening." Future Leo replied.
- "What?" The youngest asked.
- "The series of events, Dee and I were sent back here to prevent." The oldest sighed.
- "You missed me, but leave a message for Davenport, Davenport, Davenport Industries!" The phone said until Future Leo ended the call.
- "It's the same awful voicemail for the next seven years!" He exclaimed, angrily.
- "I can't imagine my life without Adam, Bree and Chase." Present Leo started pacing back and forth in the living room.
- "I don't have to imagine it, I lived it, and it's awful." Future Leo, involuntarily, mimicked his younger self's actions. "Davenport is so distraught he spends the next seven years trying to build a time machine so he can stop this one event and get them back."
Both Leos put one of their feet on top of the decoration rock.
- "Why didn't he just come here himself?" The youngest asked.
- "I don't want to bore you with the time travel details, but mass plays into the calculations, and he did not want to write down his weight in front of me." The oldest replied.
- "He didn't fit into the time machine?" The shortest asked.
- "You saw that man. He doesn't fit into anything." The tallest frowned.
- "Where did you get this watch?" Present Leo asked.
Future Leo gasped.
- "That's it! Mini me, you are a genius!" He opened the glass of his watch, revealing a red button with Davenport industries' logo. He pushed it.
- "Like Superman!" The youngest exclaimed.
- "Exactly! It will send a distress sound that only Dee can hear." The oldest explained.
- "So cool." He smiled.
Right on cue, a portal was opened, the two Maddies stepped out, making the Leos screamed in fear.
- "I will never get used to this." Present Leo sighed.
- "I can assure you, you won't." Future Leo replied.
Both Matthews laughed.
- "They went on the mission!" The shortest boy explained.
- "What?" The two Maddisons yelled, at the same time.
The youngest Leo hid behind the oldest.
- "Take him, he's older."
- "Come on, let's go." Present Maddie said as she turned invisible.
Future Maddie opened a portal and the four of them walked through it.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Meanwhile, the trio ran into the room, an alarm blared.
- "Oh, it's redlining! Adam, bust open that control panel." The mission leader ordered. Adam opened it, grinning. "Okay. Bree, run to the collider and use your super-speed to create a vacuum to slow that thing down."
- "Oh, sure. Give the girl the vacuuming job." The latter complained.
- "Would you just go?" The genius boy said.
The bionic girl super speeded away and came back.
- "Done." She said.
- "Great." Chase replied.
- "Wow. So, I guess this is it." The sister said, sadly.
- "Yeah. Let's not talk about it." The youngest turned back his focus to the wires, he had in his hands.
- "You know what I just realized? I'm never gonna get to wear white and walk down the aisle." Bree sniffled.
- "Aw. You wanted to work at the movie theater, too?" The oldest asked.
The bionic girl rolled her eyes, chuckling.
- "Yeah. And I guess I'll never get to be the first president of a self-sufficient underwater colony. So long, Chaselantis." Chase replied.
The oldest siblings snickered.
- "We were a good team while it lasted, guys." The sister said as she hugged both of her brothers.
- "Yeah. Thanks for always being there." The genius smiled as he hugged them.
- "Of course." Adam smiled, sadly.
- "You too." Bree smiled.
They hugged, tighter, before breaking the hug and walking to their tasks.
- "Hey, can you hand me that voltometer?" The youngest asked.
- "Get it yourself, dork." The tall guy replied.
- "I'm busy over here." The bionic girl answered.
I love them. Chase rolled his eyes, amused. I'm gonna miss them. He wiped the tears forming in his eyes.
- "This isn't working!" The genius hit the computer. "Nothing is working. We're running out of time."
- "What are we gonna do?" Bree asked.
The dials started to accelerate and turned from green to red.
- "I'm gonna have to fry the control panel with my force field." The youngest explained. "It's our last chance of shutting this thing down. Adam, rip out those wires and get out of the way. Hurry!" He ordered.
- "I love rippin' stuff out!" The tall guy yelled and ripped out the wires.
Chase created a ball with his force field. He threw it to fry the control panel, shutting it down.
- "Yes! Guys, we did it! We shut down the collider!" He exclaimed.
The trio hugged and celebrated.
- "Whoo-hoo!" The oldest exclaimed.
A rover came down the tunnel.
- "Adam? Bree? Chase?" Donald said through the rover.
- "Dude, Mr. Davenport turned into a wheelie robot!" Adam exclaimed.
- "I'm monitoring you remotely via the rover, Adam." The father explained. "What are you guys doing there?"
- "Leo told us what happened, but you designed us to save the world, so we had to come." The oldest explained.
Leo and invisible Maddie walked in the tunnel.
- "Guys!" The short boy yelled.
- "What's Leo doing there?" The scientist yelled.
- "Did you shut down the collider?" The Dooley boy asked.
- "Yeah, we just finished." Chase replied.
Future Leo and Maddie ran in.
- "Then get out of there, fast." Present Leo yelled.
- "The room is about to collapse." Future Leo explained.
- "Get out!" Future Maddie shouted.
- "What?" The trio asked.
Loud rumbling was heard from above the trio. Present Leo ran in, followed by present invisible Maddie. The boy pushed the trio, out of the way.
The best friends were crushed by falling rubble from the ceiling, but the alien girl put a shield around them.
Smart mini me. Future Maddie thought as she watched under the rubble, with her thermal vision.
- "No! No!!!" Donald yelled, through the rover.
- "Leo!" The trio yelled, at the same time, and ran towards the rubble.
- "Leo just saved our lives. That was supposed to be us." Bree said, as tears ran down her cheeks.
- "He didn't need bionics to be a hero." Chase sniffled and wiped the tears in his eyes.
Come on, Chase, think. Future Maddie thought.
- "He owed me five bucks!" Adam said, with tears in his eyes, and leaned on future Leo's shoulder.
- "Wai... Wait a second. If Leo's gone, then shouldn't you be gone too?" The genius boy asked the oldest Dooley.
There you go. The alien woman smiled.
- "I don't know. This is all new to me." Future Leo replied.
- "Future Leo wouldn't be here if present Leo was dead." Future Maddie shook her head.
- "Leo's still in there!" Bree exclaimed.
- "Thank you." The Matthews woman sighed.
- "Adam, dig him out!" The Davenport girl ordered.
The tall guy dug Leo and invisible Maddie out. The best friends stayed down.
Finally. The alien girl thought when she could finally stop holding the debris.
- "Leo!" The bionic girl yelled.
- "Next time when I say "Get out," get out!" Present Leo shouted.
- "He's okay." Donald sighed, in relief, through the rover.
Adam grabbed the Dooley boy from the ground and lifted him up in the air.
Future Maddie held out her hand for her younger self to take when everyone was turned.
- "Thanks." She whispered to a volume only they could hear.
- "Oh! I am so happy you are alive!" He yelled, as he aggressively hugged his little brother. He put him down on the floor. "You owe me five bucks." He extended his hand.
The door from the tunnel started to close.
- "Oh, no! The blast door is sealing!" Chase yelled.
- "Aaaahhhh!!!" Adam yelled and ran out.
So brave. The alien girl thought.
- "So brave." The Matthews woman sassed.
Chase chuckled.
- "Everyone out, now!" The mission leader yelled.
Everyone ran.

Later, the seven walked in the lab.
- "He's gonna kill you." Future Maddie said.
- "Yeah." Chase chuckled.
- "Thank goodness you guys are all right." Donald ran the bionic trio and hugged them. "What were you thinking? Get in here!" He yelled and pointed behind himself. "And you are grounded until..." He pointed present Leo. "You become you." He pointed present Leo and future Leo.
- "Look, Big D, I know you were worried, but it all worked out." The oldest, Dooley defended. "I..." He was elbowed by his younger self and the two Maddies. "I mean we changed the course of the mission and saved Adam, Bree, and Chase."
- "I think what he's trying to say is, if they saved the world and I saved them, then I saved the world!" Present Leo exclaimed, excited and did a superhero pose.
Future Leo mimicked him.
- "And I saved his ass." The alien girl whispered, loud enough only for her future self to hear.
Future Maddie coughed to hide her laughter.
- "I really wonder why I'm still friends with him, after fifteen years." She slapped her forehead.
The bionic trio laughed while the Leos' jaws were dropped.
- "Still grounded. By the way, Janelle dropped by. She seemed a little upset." The father replied.
- "Uh-oh." Future Leo projected an image of him and Janelle on his holophone. The picture of Janelle morphed into a dog.
- "Shit." Future Maddie laughed.
- "Language." Chase said.
- "I missed that." She snickered.
The genius boy smiled, fondly.
- "I end up alone with a dog?" The short boy yelled.
- "At 21." The alien woman corrected. "You have the rest of your life." She put her hands on both of the Leos' shoulders.
- "You better fix this! I'm not walking down the aisle with that." Future Leo complained.
- "Aw, don't be silly. You can't bring a dog to the movies." Adam scoffed.
- "I want to see that." The genius woman laughed.
- "You will, since you'll be my maid of honor." The Dooley man shit eating grinned. Both Maddies rolled their eyes, amused. Present Leo and Maddie walked away with Adam. "What about you?"
Future Maddie took out her holophone away from everyone's eyes, and the homepage of her and Leo turned into a picture of future Chase and Maddie kissing.
- "Wow." The future versions of the best friends' eyes widened.
- "When I read their minds, I saw that Chase had a crush on me, for a few weeks, after we met." Future Maddie whispered to future Leo.
- "Well, more than a few weeks" Future Leo's pointed at the picture. "That's great! You can tell mini you!" He exclaimed.
- "No." The alien woman replied. "I won't change the history more than we already did."
- "You're a lost cause." The Dooley man snickered. "But, apparently, it's gonna work out for you."
- "Yeah." She turned off the hologram with a huge smile.
They turned back to the others.
- "Well, now that you guys are safe, I guess we should get back to the future." Future Leo said.
- "Courtesy of me. I did that. I just like to remind everybody that I cracked time travel." Donald grinned. "That was me."
- "We know." Future Maddie replied.
- "Thanks for coming back for us." Chase smiled.
- "And for helping save our lives." Bree continued.
- "Yeah, and for showing us that our time is precious, so if we're gonna make fun of Leo's height, we gotta do it now." Adam patted present Leo's head.
The short boy smacked him in the stomach, making his older brother groaned in pain.
Future Maddie and Leo sat in the time machine.
- "Stay smooth." Present Leo said to his older self. "And stay best friends."
- "Only if you do." The Dooley man replied.
- "We'll always be best friends, Leo." Future Maddie smiled.
The Dooley boy and his invisible best friend smiled.
Always. The genius girl thought.
- "Enjoy the next seven years, man. They go by in the blink of an eye." The older man said.
- "Bye, guys." The alien woman continued. "Stay safe."
- "We will." Bree replied.
Future Leo and Maddie left with the time machine.
- "Wow." Leo chocked on his words. "I miss me already." He sniffled.
Dumbass. Maddie rolled her eyes.
