Over a month later, Maddie had finished all the tests and was finally a D.E.O. agent.
She was on a break at CatCo with Mia, they were talking about the movie they saw the night before, when static was all the screens in the building.
- "What the fuck?" The Krillin woman frowned.
- "Greetings, CatCo employees." A blonde, white woman with blue eyes appeared on the screens. "I'm disappointed in all of you. Especially you, Queen of all Media."
- "I suppose you're the hacker that sent the drive this morning." Cat said. "Hmm. What do they call you? The Peroxide Avenger."
- "I handed you the story of the year." The hacker replied. "How sinners have turned the Internet into a modern day Sodom and Gomorrah. But you failed to act. And so now, all will suffer. Computers control everything. Communication, banking... Even traffic signals. The age of chaos begins now. Enjoy." She disappeared from all the screens.
The two superheroes looked at each other with worry eyes.
- "Toyman Jr., you're the computer expert. Fix this." The queen of media walked away.
- "I definitely liked it better when she did not know who I was." Winn said as he sat at his computer. "Every traffic light in the city just turned green."
- "Go." The Agotarian whispered to her friend.
The Matthews girl, discreetly, ran out, as siren wailed.
- "Oh, my God." Major Lucy Lane: daughter of General Lane, sister of Lois Lane, James' girlfriend, said as she watched the TV where several accidents were shown.
She was a 5'2 white woman with green eyes and dark brown hair.
Kara ran out as well.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
A couple of seconds later, Maddie had taken off her glasses and put on her superhero suit.
Last month, a journal concurrence of Cat had named this new superhero 'GreatGirl', which made the queen of media very angry of being copied.
After countess training sessions with J'onn, she had discovered that her telepathic powers were going beyond what she thought.
She could manipulate memories, control minds, show her memories and create illusions.
She used her powers to hide her identity and Kara's from people, nobody, who they did not personally tell their secret identities, could recognize them without their glasses.
Only a few species of aliens could resist her powers.
She flew towards a street where two trucks were gonna hit each other in a crossroad.
The Matthews girl put herself in front of one of the trucks and stopped it with her super strength right before it hit the other.
The second truck drove right behind her.
The quadbrid sighed, in relief, and flew at the window of the driver of the truck she had stopped.
- "Are you okay, sir?" She asked.
- "Yes, thank you, GreatGirl." The man sighed.
- "Have a good night, sir." GreatGirl flew away.

The next day, at CatCo, everyone was looking at the news.
- "In related news, the initial attack on DiamondDiscretions.com seems now to be the opening salvo in a full-fledged cyberwar, which has sabotaged infrastructure and left financial markets plummeting." A reporter said on the TV. "Dozens of banks and lending institutions, including National City Mutual, released a statement calling this the worst digital data breach, they have ever seen."
- "National City Mutual." A man got up and, quickly, walked away. "That's where my retirement fund is."
- "If this hacker isn't stopped soon, we're looking at a worldwide economic collapse." Winn added.
- "Wonderful." Maddie sighed.
- "Relevant people!" Cat walked in. "In my office." She walked into her office with her two assistants, James and Lucy.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, Cat had ordered a team to try to find the hacker, so the Super Friends were doing that in Kara's apartment. Winn and Maddie were working on laptops while the two others were sitting in the leaving room.
- "You know, he's been mumbling like that to himself for over an hour. Isn't that the first sign of..." James started.
- "Genius! Yes." The Danvers woman nodded. "Maddie is, too, but she's calm."
- "First time, someone calls me calm." The Matthews girl snickered.
- "Not mumbling, okay." The Schott man replied. "I'm writing code, it just helps to say it out loud."
- "Alright, Winn, Maddie, what is happening?" The Kryptonian walked up to them.
- "Alright." The tech guy started. "Okay, look, this hacker. She has created what's called an oscillating variable matrix to cover her footprints. 'Diabolical' would not be an inappropriate word choice for her."
- "Genius is, though." The quadbrid replied, making the adults frown. "What? She's a psycho, but she's a genius."
- "But?" Kara asked.
- "But I have created an inversion pathway, which will, um, hopefully lead me to wherever she's hiding." Winn said. "I mean, she could be, for all we know, uh, organizing these attacks from the other side of the globe."
- "No." The hacker appeared on his screen. "Just the other side of your screen. You know, you two are fairly clever, for apes."
Maddie scoffed.
- "Apes? That's the best insult you got?" She frowned.
- "And you are freaking me out for an evil blonde computer face." The Schott man replied.
- "Then let's talk in person." The woman said.
- "Name the time and place." The Danvers woman looked at her, seriously.
- "How about now?" The hacker transformed into pixels as she got out of the screen into the kitchen, making the tech guy scream. She was a 5'6 blue woman with orange hair and three red dots on her forehead that formed a triangle. "Supergirl and GreatGirl. What exactly makes you so super and you so great?" She asked.
The Matthews girl read her mind. Her name is Indigo. She is a Coluan. They are techno-organic beings, but she is not one with blood, she's one with wires. Which is why I can't manipulate her mind and why she knows who we are.
- "That symbol. I've seen it before." The Kryptonian said.
- "It's the sign of my people. The font of omniscient knowledge." The blue woman replied.
- "She's a Coluan." The quadbrid said. "Her name is Indigo, she was a Fort Rozz prisoner."
- "Someone has been doing their homework." Indigo smirked. "I'm flattered."
- "Don't be. I only learned about you, so I can quick your ass, faster." Maddie explained. "I don't want to waste my time."
- "You won't." The Coluan glared at her. "I know everything about you."
- "What are you, some kind of living Internet?" Winn asked.
- "You might call me that." The blue woman took out claw-like blades of her hand, before she punched the two superheroes, throwing them out of the window. Indigo grabbed The Schott man by the neck and lifted him as James hit a chair on her back. She grabbed him and lifted him as the two superheroes flew back into the apartment. "Which one of your friends should I skin first?"
- "Put them down!" The Matthews girl yelled.
J'onn kicked open the door and walked in with Alex.
- "Hold it right there!" He shouted. "Hold it right there!"
The Coluan threw the men on the floor as she dematerialized into the laptop.
- "Oh, thank God, we have our own personal black ops unit." The tech guy said as he got up.
- "Are you following me now?" The younger Danvers walked out of her apartment with the three agents.
- "I wouldn't do that." The J'onzz man said.
- "We tracked the Wi-Fi signal from the computers controlling traffic lights." The older Danvers explained. "There was something else embedded in the signal. Something alien. And it led us right here."
- "The rest is classified." The director added. "Available only to active D.E.O. agents. What do you say?"
The quadbrid looked at her mentor, hopeful. Come on, Kara.
- "I got this far on my own." The Kryptonian replied. "Elevator's around the corner. Maddie, I won't blame you if you go with them." She walked back into her apartment.
Maddie sighed.
- "So, what couldn't you say in front of her?" She asked.
- "Not here." The right hand said.

Friday, 25th March 2016
The next day, Maddie called in sick at CatCo while she and Winn were searching more information on Brainiac 8, aka Indigo, at the D.E.O.
- "You identified Brainiac 8. You know her code." J'onn walked in with his right hand. "If you can successfully decrypt her signal, you'll lead us right to her."
- "You realize that I'm learning an alien coding language in the same amount of time it takes to watch an episode of Doctor Who, right?" The Schott man asked as he typed on the console. "That's like... That's like really fast."
- "And very impressive." The Matthews girl added, her eyes never leaving her keyboard.
- "I wish Kara was here." Alex sighed.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
A couple of minutes later, the four were talking at the D.E.O., knowing thanks to Maddie's powers that Indigo was trying to nuke the entire city.
- "Fort Pemberton is the nearest nuclear missile silo." Alex explained.
- "But it's completely off the grid." J'onn frowned. "No Internet access. That way, no one can remotely hack in and launch a missile."
- "And that is why she needed the general, to use him to get into the base." The Matthews girl said.
- "Like a Trojan horse." Winn added.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, Maddie had put on her suit and flew away.
- "Get the Pentagon. We're at DEFCON 4." J'onn ordered.
- "I can deploy a strike team to Fort Pemberton." Alex suggested.
- "You'll never make it in time." Winn replied. "But she will."
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
In the meanwhile, the two superheroes arrived at the base.
- "Good to see you." GreatGirl said.
- "Hey." Supergirl smiled, and they ripped open the door to see Indigo, smirking a couple feet further.
- "Hi, bitch." The Matthews girl smiled.
The two super speeded towards her and tried to punch her, but she dodged every time.
The blue woman tried to attack them with her blades hands, but the quadbrid stopped her hand.
- "It's over, Indigo." The Danvers woman said.
- "For the human race? I agree." The Coluan nodded.
She pushed the Kryptonian back, who backed away against a console, and Indigo took advantages of this to push a button and launch the missile.
- "Nuclear launch sequence activated." The computer said.
GreatGirl punched her in the face, before Supergirl made her face hit the console.
- "30, 29, 28..." The robotized voice continued.
The blue woman glared at them and tried to hit them, but the two heroes ducked.
The Danvers woman tried to punch her, but the Coluan ducked and sweep kicked her legs.
- "24, 23,22..." The computer continued.
The Matthews girl kicked Indigo in the stomach, making her roll onto the floor, before getting up.
The Kryptonian tried to kick her, but the blue woman ducked as she made Supergirl turn to choke her and hold her back.
- "7, 6, 5..." The robotized voice continued.
The quadbrid grabbed her hand and ripped it off, making her scream as jolts came out of her severed member and let go of the Danvers woman.
- "I calculate the death toll at 7 million." The Coluan smiled. "Give or take."
- "Three, two, one." The computer said as the missile launched.
Greatgirl and Supergirl both punched her, making her fall on the ground, before they both flew after the missile.
They both spoke to their teams.
- "Indigo launched the missile." The Matthews girl told her boss.
- "Missile's arching toward National City. ETA to target three minutes." J'onn said.
- "That was the White House." Alex replied. "The president just ordered us to DEFCON 2."
- "James! I'm too late. Indigo launched an ICBM at National City." The younger Danvers said to her crush.
- We need to evacuate Catco and the city." James replied.
- "There's no time. Maddie and I are on its tail. We're going to stop it." The Kryptonian explained. The two heroes flew faster towards the missile. Supergirl pushed it, but it came back to its place. "It won't change course. I'll use my heat vision."
- "Don't." Her two friends, simultaneously, said.
- "That can make it explode." The Olsen man added.
- "I've got Supergirl on the line." Agent Vasquez said.
- "Hank. We need your help." The younger Danvers explained.
- "We need the password." The quadbrid added.
- "We're tracking you with the ICBM." The J'onzz man replied. "We're gonna stop this thing, girls. Together. You need to shut down its onboard flight computer."
The two heroes flew faster towards the missile and hung onto it.
- "You need to shut down the silo's network. Keep Indigo from launching another warhead." The right hand ordered.
- "I think that I might have a way of actually shutting her down." Winn replied. "I, accidentally, created a pretty nasty computer virus a few years ago."
- "How nasty?" Alex asked.
- "Rip off the trap door to access the flight computer." The director ordered in the earpieces.
- "8,000 feet and dropping." Vasquez added. The Kryptonian ripped off the trap door. "3,000 feet."
- "Input the kill code 1-1-7-4-7." J'onn ordered.
Supergirl typed the three first numbers, before, due to the speed, she let go of the missile, but thankfully, GreatGirl was still hanging onto it and typed the two last numbers.
The missile deactivated and flew straight into the ocean. The Matthews girl stilled in the air.
- Yes!" The J'onzz man exclaimed as everyone sighed, in relief, and clapped.
- "You did it." The younger Danvers flew towards her and hugged her.
- "WE did it." The quadbrid corrected. The Kryptonian girl smiled and they high-fived. "We have someone to take care of."
They both flew back to the base.
- "Plenty of missiles left." Indigo said. "Thank God for nuclear proliferation."
Supergirl grabbed her and threw her across the room.
- "Bet you didn't calculate that." She replied.
GreatGirl snickered.
- "She probably didn't." She shook her head. "Someone is smart only when they recognize other's intelligence, which she clearly does not."
- "How's it coming?" Alex asked Winn.
- "Thirty more seconds." He replied.
- "Hold on, girls!" The older Danvers said. "Kara, Maddie, do you copy?"
- "Who is that you're talking to?" The blue woman got up. "I knew you were too stupid to be working alone." She grabbed a phone and materialized a hand into the D.E.O., choking the Schott man. "I am beyond a body. I am beyond time and space. All I have to do is squeeze my fingers, and your friend dies."
- "Let him go." The Matthews girl frowned.
- "No. I'm invincible. I am a God." The Coluan smirked.
- "No." The tech guy continued to type as she choked him. "You're just a glorified Windows Vista."
Indigo let go of him and fell to the ground.
- "What have you done to me?" She asked.
- "I just fed you a major helping of malware." Winn said. "Bon appétit."
- "Good job." The quadbrid replied.
- "You." The blue woman panted as she glared at the younger Danvers. "You wouldn't even be here if it wasn't for me."
- "What do you mean?" The Kryptonian asked.
Right, I forgot to tell her that. GreatGirl pressed her lips together.
- "How do you think Fort Rozz escaped the Phantom Zone?" The Coluan questioned. "For decades, I searched the Phantom Zone with my mind. Looking for a way out. And then I found you. I activated your pod. I linked it to the prison. I'm the reason you made it to Earth. You would still be sleeping in that timeless void, if it wasn't for me." She screamed as she dematerialized into red pixels.
- "Are you okay over there, Supergirl, GreatGirl?" The right hand asked.
- "Yeah." The Matthews girl sighed.
- "Yeah, I'm good." Supergirl replied.
- "We make a great team." The quadbrid said.
- "We do." The Danvers woman nodded.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, at CatCo, Maddie walked up to Mia, who had called her. She was, quickly, pulled into a hug.
- "Thank God, you're okay." She said.
- "Of course, I am." The Matthews girl smiled softly as she wrapped her arms around her friend's back.
- "You scared the shit out of me today with the missile." The Krillin woman whispered as she pulled away.
- "We deactivated and the hacker is destroyed." The quadbrid replied.
- "Good." The Agotarian sighed and pulled her friend back into her arms.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Later, the three active agents of the D.E.O. were sparing together when Supergirl walked in.
- "It's good to see you." J'onn said.
- "Well, the world almost ended 'cause we weren't a team." The younger Danvers explained. "We need each other. So, personal feelings aside, I'm back."
Maddie smiled.
- "Stronger together?" The J'onzz man asked, making her nod. Alex walked further away. "Well, the first thing we need to do is assess if Indigo's attack was related to Non's secret Myriad project or if the two were working at cross-purpose..."
- "I saw Astra, standing over J'onn." The older Danvers started.
Shit. The Matthews girl thought.
- "What?" The Kryptonian frowned.
- "Alex." The director, firmly, said.
- "He was defenseless." The right hand continued. "She said she was gonna give him an honorable death. And I reacted. Because that's what I was taught to do. Hank didn't kill Astra." She started to sob, softly. "I did. I did. And when you got there, he saw how devastated you were. He didn't want you to get angry with me. He took the blame. And I let him." Her voice broke. "Because I was afraid of losing you, and I can't lose you." She sobbed.
Supergirl started to walk towards the door, before she stopped and listened to her sister's sobs.
She turned around and hugged her sister.
Alex sobbed of relief in her sister's arms.
J'onn started to walk away, but the younger Danvers stopped him to hold his hand as they both stood there as the older Danvers cried.
God, I miss my family. The quadbrid started to walk away, but the J'onzz man stopped her to hold her hand. I'm glad I have them.
∘₊✧──────✧₊∘
Late at night, Maddie was lying on the roof of CatCo, looking at the stars and thinking about everything since she was aspired by the wormhole.
Next week is Mom's birthday. I miss her. I miss them. I miss everything about my universe, my home. She sniffed, before wiping her tears. I cannot cry every day, damn it.

In the meanwhile, Chase was lying on the roof of the mansion, looking at the stars.
Maybe she's looking at the stars, too. Tears fell down his cheeks. I miss her so much.
